Prachtig uitzicht en het zwembad..... geweldig! Het was een tropisch plaatje maar dan in het echt. Wij hebben genoten. Lester de gastheer was super gastvrij, beleefd en heel behulpzaam. Dit verblijf is een aanrader👌

Prachtige plek, zwembad ligt echt heel mooi met uitzicht en toegang tot strand en zee. Ruime tuin waar wel zwerfhonden rondlopen maar je hebt er geen last van. Het huis is echter wel verouderd en heeft hier en daar wat dingen die kapot zijn. Bedden en handdoeken schoon maar badkamer en keukentje niet helemaal. In de omgeving van het huis is niet heel veel te doen. Een bird Safari en een paar restaurantjes. Wij waren hier maar 1 nacht en vonden vooral het zwembad erg fijn. Ontbijt wat overigens prima was, betaalden we apart.

Prijskwaliteit verhouding was een beetje scheef. Je betaald veel voor tuin/ zwembad.

Leister hat sich super vor Ort um alles gekümmert. Die Lage am Strand mit dem Pool unter Palmen ein Traum. Nur zwei Häuser teilen sich Pool und Gelände. Der Pool ist bestimmt 20m lang, da ist auch ein Training machbar. Das Lokal um die Ecke ist auch prima

2 Messer für 5 Personen und wozu ein Kocher wenn es keine Töpfe oder Pfannen gibt? Hätten wir wahrscheinlich auf Nachfrage auch bekommen aber das war nicht ganz perfekt.

De locatie van dit huis is fantastisch! Het grote zwembad, vlak aan de oceaan. Het prachtige strand en goed onderhouden domein. Lester doet wat nodig is en meer om het je naar je zin te maken!

Het uitzicht, het zwembad, de rust, de dieren ,… kortom alles eigenlijk . Het paradijs op aarde , blij dat ik hier heb mogen verblijven. Lester zorgt voor alles als je iets nodig hebt.

Als in dan toch iets zou moeten kiezen is het de wifi die minder goed is maar dit is muggenziften.

This property is in a fantastic location, with an incredible infinity pool and direct access to miles of pristine, sandy beach that feels almost private. During our stay, there were very few tourists, and we didn’t have to deal with any local hustlers, making it a truly peaceful and relaxing getaway. There were also a few adorable, friendly stray dogs around that were gentle and loved a bit of attention. The infinity pool was exceptionally clean, and I really appreciated that the chlorine level wasn’t overwhelming, making it comfortable to spend hours enjoying the water. The villa is only about a 50-meter walk from the pool, and from there it’s another short 20-meter stroll along a footpath to a beautiful, spotless beach. Don’t forget to bring your BBQ supplies—they have a grill available, which is perfect for an evening cookout. Nature lovers will appreciate the surroundings, with plenty of wildlife, including unique birds, lizards, and many fascinating insect species. A special mention goes to Lester, who was an absolute gentleman and an excellent cook. He looked after us as if we were family, and his hospitality made our stay even more memorable. I would definitely return to this property and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful beachfront escape.

I’d suggest a little more attention to deep cleaning in a few areas. The pillows could use replacing, and I think the living room would benefit greatly from having an air conditioner, as the heat was a bit uncomfortable during our stay. The electric kettle could also either be thoroughly cleaned or replaced. That said, these were only minor issues and certainly not deal-breakers. We still had a wonderful stay and thoroughly enjoyed the property.

Je lève ma casquette au monsieur qui gère sur place, il fait tout pour vous, il est au petit soins de A à Z, il allume les lampes le soir pour vous, balaie le sable sur la terasse, débarrasse et fait la vaisselle. Ik est parti nous chercher un casse croutte pour partir en activité. Il prépare un petit déjeuner magnifique ! Tout le monde est gentil au srilanka mais cet homme mérite plus qu’un 10 / 10 ! Il a même offert une tablette de chocolat a ma fille et nous à prévu un gâteau pour l'anniversaire de mon fils! Il entretien aussi l'hébergement qui est propre et bien rangé. La piscine est magnifique ́, elle fait bien 20m. La vue est magnifique. Accès a la plage facile. Un cocon pour se dépayser !

Piękne, komfortowe miejsce. Z tarasu widok na ocean. Cudowny basen. No i "safari na siedząco": waran, który kopał sobie norkę, małpy, zajączki, ptaki.

Excellent location, calm and quiet environment, staff was supportive

There was no alternative power supply or llight source during the power failure and we had to rely on the torch in our mobile phones for half an hour.

A wonderful little paradise right by the sea with an excellent pool. The area is spacious, secluded, and peaceful, with a long, uncrowded beach nearby where you can watch local fishermen at work in the mornings. The house is tidy and clean. It was hard to leave this place — I sincerely recommend it. It’s true that there are no shops nearby, so you need to go to a neighboring town, but the host arranged a tuk-tuk for us, and we were able to buy everything we needed — you just have to plan ahead.

There was nothing we didn’t like, but if I had to mention a downside that might matter to some, it would be the limited kitchen equipment. Since we didn’t cook, we didn’t miss anything, but if you planned to prepare your own meals, you might find a lack of pots or pans—though the host would likely provide them if asked. Another point, which didn’t bother us but could be considered a drawback, is that there are two private houses on this large property. They are separated, and you don’t see or disturb each other while on the terraces, but the pool area is shared between both houses, so you would need to share it with the other guests.

One of two bungalows sharing a beautiful coconut lined garden with a 28m infinity pool overlooking two stunning beaches(as keen lap pool swimmers, we made the most of it)! We rented the smaller of the two bungalows which had 2 en-suite A/C bedrooms. It was comfortable but basic. Lester the caretaker lives on site and is always on hand should you need him. He did some washing for us and fetched a few provisions. You can walk down to the deserted beach from the garden and watch/help the fishermen haul in their nets. Sea very rough, not suitable for swimming. Every morning we were blown away by how stunningly beautiful the grounds and views were. We were the only 2 people there during our 4 day stay. Upoint restaurant is about 15 minute walk away and offer a free Tuk Tuk ride to their restaurant should you need it. Lovely family run restaurant serving excellent food.

The location is the best on this beach. It has a fantastic view to the ocean, a wonderful pool, and we liked that it was very calm and not a noisy place. We loved the night BBQ on our terrace. Also we loved the beach side with no crowd and a lovely place to swim.

I would like to have a better-equipped kitchen. It had very few items.

На январь 2026 года это однозначно это одно из самых необычных и неоднозначных мест, где мы останавливались. Имеются как свои большие плюсы так и минусы, поэтому впечатления разнообразны. С одной стороны - большая площадь виллы, чистота внутри, огромная территория вокруг виллы - целая кокосовая плантация, что создаёт дополнительное уединение, простор, на фотографиях выглядит просто улётно. Удалённость от городской суеты - для нас это был плюс. Несмотря на удалённость есть недалеко небольшой продуктовый магазинчик для базовых потребностей и несколько хороших ресторанов. Бассейн - огромный, чистейший, с потрясающими видами! Рядом большой красивый парк птиц, прекраснейшее место для прогулки на лодочках семьёй. Лестер - менеджер данных 2-ух вилл выше всяческих похвал - всегда на связи, всегда поможет и подскажет! Готовит очень вкусные и разнообразные завтраки!

С другой стороны минусы: оба туалета в большой вилле находятся на улице - на картинках это красиво (как будто в сад заходишь), но очень непрактично - не очень удобно самому ходить в туалет и детей ночью высаживать. За 4 дня мы встретили 2 раза лягушку ночью (один раз прямо в унитазе, другой раз на стене душевой), 2 раза увидели больших тараканов + конечно, комары. Всё это не создаёт такого удобства сходить элементарно вечером или ночью в туалет. В этом плане соседняя вилла того же хозяина, которая поменьше, имеет один туалет на улице и один внутри, что является большим плюсом. На самой территории желательно бы чаще чистить кокосы на пальмах, хотя бы вдоль дорожки к бассейну/морю, тк не очень уютно осознавать, что в любой момент сверху может прилететь такой "камень". Ну и последнее - по территории часто бегают бездомные собаки, которые выглядят прямо скажем не очень здоровыми и даже собака хозяина была вся в клещах, которые ползали в том числе по территории террасы. Очень хочется чтоб хотя бы эту добрую собаку хозяина кто то подкормил и вылечил от клещей! Пляж рядом большой, чистый, безлюдный, хорошо посидеть на песочке, но не поплавать, так как всегда большие волны. В общем по цене/качеству - 120-150 евро за ночь такую виллу - ну прям ценник огромный не смотря на большие плюсы, как мне кажется. Соседняя вилла на той же территории и того же хозяина немного поменьше, с туалетом внутри и более адекватным ценником выглядит куда привлекательнее.

Классная вилла. Очень красивая территория, чистый бассейн , атмосферный вид . Можно гулять вдоль моря и наблюдать за рыбаками . В соседнем здании рекомендую попробовать креветки .

При заказе такси до Дондры нас хотели снять двойную стоимость (15к )

De beste accommodatie die we hebben gehad in Sri Lanka. Bizar groot zwembad (25 meter lang ongeveer) - die je deelt met maar 1 ander huisje- met uitzicht over de zee, direct toegang tot het strand, attente housekeeper. Aanrader!

This was my favourite accommodation in Sri Lanka. The location is absolutely stunning, and the infinity pool with a direct view of the beach is incredible—definitely the highlight of the stay. The cottage is simple but comfortable, with everything you need. I also loved the monkeys around the property and the local dog, Lulu.

The place was super clean and the caretaker was so helpful and nice. We stayed there for two nights and it was comfortable and simply amazing.

Kameralnie, cicho, wielki basen przy plazy, najlepszy jaki mieliśmy w czasie całego pobytu ( odwiedziliśmy 6 innych obiektów). Dostaliśmy vintage domek ( nam się bardzo spodobał, z charakterem, stylem, jeśli nie wymaga się nowoczesności), z tarasem z bujakiem i leżankami, kojarzył mi się z "Pożegnaniem z Afryką". Wewnątrz łazienka z otwartym sufitem, prysznic pod palmami, piękne detale jak drewniane turkusowe drzwi lub wieszaki na ręczniki w kształcie pawia. Ładne drewniane kolonialne meble, stare obrazy na ścianach.Aneks kuchenny z lodówką. Do tego duży teren wokół, a na wzgórzu HIT (!) wielki basen Infiniti z widokiem na ocean i piękną plażę. Długi chyba 25m, podświetlany, piękny, tylko dla nas ( drugi nowszy domek był nie wynajęty). Piękna plaża do spacerów, w pobliżu port. Ciche niekomercyjne miejsce. Idealne dla osób lubiących wypoczynek poza cywilizacja. Brak sklepów z pamiątkami, totalne odludzie turystyczne i dla nas to super. Wieczorem dźwięki cykad. W pobliżu smaczna restauracja. Bardzo życzliwy, bezinteresowny gospodarz. Wyjątkowo sympatyczny i pomocny.

Naprawdę udany pobyt. Przy drugiej sypialni był jakiś agregat, który chwilami hałasował. W okolicy jeden sklep z niepełną ofertą. Lepiej zaopatrzyć się w innym mieście.

Провели здесь 3 чудесных ночи, единственное, о чем пожалели - что не остались подольше. В паре шагов есть два хороших ресторана, небольшой магазинчик. Вокруг два живописных пляжа. Находиться на территории одно удовольствие, видели павлинов, обезьян (неагрессивных, близко не подходят), много красивых птиц. Бассейн всегда чистый. Удобно, что есть фильтр для питьевой воды. Отдельное спасибо сотруднику - у нас ежедневно были свежие цветы в вазе, в дождь, если выходили с территории, приносил зонты

Raj na ziemi! Wzięłyśmy z dziewczynami droższy domek i był to nasz najlepszy nocleg na Sri Lance! Przestronna, wyposażona kuchnia, prywatny basen pod palmami, zapierający dech w piersiach widok na wspaniałą plażę. Gospodarz Lester to marzenie każdego pobytu - miły, pomocny, uczynny, uśmiechnięty, troszczący się o nas przez cały pobyt, coś wspaniałego! Polecam gorąco!

We loved the location and the Sri Lankan food produced by Lester. The pool was to die for. Great stay.

Fantastycznie położone miejsce. Basen zacieniony przez palmy z pięknym widokiem położony blisko pustej plaży. Lester przygotowywał różnorodne i bardzo smaczne śniadania. Blisko też są restauracje z bardzo miłą obsługą. Bez problemu też można umówić się np. na rejs po lagunie.

Nawet gdyby coś się znalazło to lokalizacja, atmosfera tego miejsca wszystko znakomicie rekompensuje ;-)

La piscine, la proximité de la plage et le personnel

Les équipements de la cuisine sont à renouveler. Le barbecue et la machine à laver sont à disposition dans la maison à côté sur demande.

We were a group of 6, including two children (ages 10 and 14). Every single one of us enjoyed the weekend we spent at Ocean Cottage. The cottage is charming and comfortable. The property is really nice and quiet. The highlights of our stay were definitely the pool and the food.

Such an excellent stay, the photos don’t do it justice, the pool is amazing and right next to a beautiful beach. Lester is brilliant host/ caretaker, and can cook dinner and breakfast, which is very good quality. He also made some simple dishes for our young children. He also arranged a Tuk Tuk to an ATM and shops, five minutes drive away. Also just a few minute walk is a restaurant/bar called Thurya which is excellent, and run by a local family. Great for a drink or dinner. Also we went on a lagoon tour with wildlife wonders, five minutes walk from the cottage, highly recommend.

Beautiful location, secluded and with great views over the beach. Lester was very welcoming and friendly and the food was delicious. The property is simple but the rooms very comfortable.

The pool is shared with another property (not private as the description says). The house could do with some more comfy seating on the veranda.

The place is amazing 🤩 no people around, you can rest, swim (the swimming pool is very nice), the beach is beautiful very close to the house. Very nice dogs 🐕 coming from the village needs some food and company ;)

Basically there is 20-25meter pool and 2,5km wide beach that is almost always almost empty :) In top of that you get beautiful palm garden. This is awesome place to get some rest and chill.

It’s far from shops and restaurants, but you can get free ride to very good restaurant UPoint or walk 2mins to close-by MySon restaurant :)

The location. Can’t find a better spot. People passing by were envying the pool and the yard. The infinity pool was absolutely amazing and had one of the best views I ever seen from a pool. Friendly dogs hanging with you in the evenings. Lester the housekeeper made wonderful meals. Calm beach without a lot of tourists. Rustic houses.

A bit far to get to convenience stores.

Great private beach location. Big private pool and lots of garden space. Tastefully renovated old bungalow. Lester was an absolutely great cook who made Sri Lankan dishes to order that were all delicious!

The mattresses could be a little more comfortable as they were spring mattresses that were a little 'pokey'.

OFF THE BEATEN TRACK ! You and nature ! Lester the caretaker cooked our meals - amazing and authentic … this is a basic villa but that’s the appeal of it … the pool is amazing at 25 meters - monkeys came for breakfast … mongoose at dusk … amazing experience

There’s no bar in walking distance - small price to pay for peace and quiet

Lovely relaxing stay! Nestled between a slightly more wild beach on the right and on the left, a little fishing harbour and a more gentle bay. The bay right by the harbour was a few minutes walk away and was good for swimming. The pool is really stunning. The house is set back in the palm tree gardens and is very comfortable with air con etc. The caretaker was most helpful and the hosts very responsive.

Kitchen not brilliantly kitted out to actually cook in! Needed extra pans and bread knife, somewhere to drain dishes.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Lester the concierge is a wonderful cook and helped us with all our enquiries. Lester makes Ocean Cottage, he is a super person.

Everything, the location, the pool and especially Lester who makes us so welcome, is available to cook fabulous meals and can answer any questions.

The pool with a view of Sunrise and Sunset

1) Bathrooms aren’t clean 2) There are no mesh on the doors and windows that lead to lots of insects in the house 3) Diseased dogs roam freely on the property and drink water from the pool 4) The meadow area is not manicured 5) The beaches around aren’t that great

We had the most amazing and peaceful vacation ever! Do not mentioned the location and our private host/Chef Lester, who is beyond expectation. Way beyond! The garden is wonderful and relaxing - and so breathtakingly beautiful. We had excellent dinners served and cooked by Lester, I believe we had better then any restaurant there! Do not mentioned about the best private pool ever and nice bay around the property. Cannot wait to go back! The location itself is indeed silent and peaceful, apprx. 3 hours driving form the airport if Colombo. The airport shuttle is available - if you need it. if you are looking for tourist place/restaurant/citylife/etc.. probably it's not your location. If you want/need to spend some time in the Paradise, and make your head empty than this is the perfect choice.
