Provider-sourced guest reviews.
It was clean and smelled good. Also bed was extremely comfortable.
Near very busy interstate highway and the windows are not sound proof so heard trucks all night long. Could not sleep. I have stayed at many hotels near airports that were much quieter. So it was a terrible disappointment that I could not get a good night sleep. Will not stay there again.
Clean speedy check in
Everything was great except one thing. The AC in the riom was freezing & I could not adjust it to make it warmer. I called for someone to check it and no one ever came. I ended up putting extra pillows on top of the air vents so less air wouldn’t come through.
The hotel was very good, check-in was great and the bar and bistro was excellent.
The Boarding pass area didn't have a printer and the staff on duty said they didn't have a printer either. Why do you have a boarding pass computer but no printer to print the boarding pass. Only one person at the desk to check people out and he was on a phone call, so I had to wait 15 minutes to get checked out.
I was pleasantly surprised by the property which you can tell was recently renovated. The lobby was tasteful;;y decorated and restaurant and bar looked great. The rooms were very nice, clean, spacious, amenities were nice and overall it was a great stay in the Brass City. I honestly did not expect it to be so nice in Waterbury. It was a relaxing trip and the parking garage was a short walk across the street from the hotel.
Nothing, everything was great!
This was a beautiful property in every respect, the rooms, the lobby, the grounds
Convenience to 84. The staff were all wonderful.
Could use a few upgrades.
There is no breakfast option. The room is not well ventilated.
Location and accessibility.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable (very hard) and the noise level outside of our room on the street was unbearable. We had just come back from a funeral and were exhausted and could not sleep the entire night. It was 2am and the loud music was non-stop. It seemed to be coming from a balcony or something because we heard it outside our window, as if it were right in front of our window. We called the front desk and they said there was nothing they could do about it. The response was NOT the normal response that one would get as a guest in a hotel. It's 2am! It was extremely unprofessional to NOT help us feel more comfortable. Every hotel I've ever stayed at (and I travel a lot) always tries to get the noise level under control for guests to sleep. We are paying for a place to be peaceful, not noisy. I felt very dismissed and disappointed in the Marriott Courtyard. I won't ever stay there again and having doubts about staying at any Courtyard Marriott. Get your staff to be more accommodating to guest when there is a complaint. That's their job.
My room was clean. The food was adequate. The Mariot provides activities for guests in the lobby.
My stay was not detected by your hotel's systems, which made checking in and out aggravatingly difficult. Because your staff member was insisting on another unnecessary and unjustified payment for my room. I missed my flight because your staff insisted on payment that had already been made on booking.com. Booking.com also inaccurately shows your hotel still has a pool. It is your hotel's responsibility to ensure your facilities/amenities are listed accurately on the websites of major travel agencies. As someone who is disabled, it is also very inconvenient that your hotel only has 3 designated parking spots outside of the building. More frustratingly, your hotel charges for parking, but doesn't have the funds to ensure the parking garage's elevator works properly. It was very inconvenient for me to stay at the Mariot.
Nothing
Location was too busy and extremely loud. Bug in the bed, windows were so dirty and garbage outside the window. Hand towel in bathroom was a used towel definitely not a clean towel. A half a roll of toilet paper was on the roll and it was wet . The air conditioner was way too loud kept me up all night. The room had a very musty smell . The pull out table was sticky .The first bad impression of the hotel was arriving to a dirty very dirty up vacuumed rug in the elevator, which all elevators were very in vacuumed . Bad first impression
I could wish the hotel offered free coffee at least, because the Starbucks is too strong and too expensive. They need new mattressess, and a few new air conditioners apparently (mine was literally 'screaming' when it kicked on). Cleaning could be improved.. there was leftover food in the fridge when I arrived. The shining star of the place was the staff; Extremely friendly, professional, helpful, and caring; I was particularly pleased with the front desk clerk who was kind enough to change my room without issue when I mentioned the screaming AC unit. I wish I got his name. But, then, all of the staff were exemplary.
The mattresses were not comfortable. (In the 2 rooms I wound up in for my 3 day stay)
Very convenient location for my destination of seeing a concert in nearby theater. It was a simple five minute walk. Going in I was warned aboit the neighborhood, but I felt safe as i walked after the evening concert. The bed was very comfortable. Check in clerk was very helpful giving me local directions and advice.
The elevator, though it ran fine, showed sign of wear in many flaws on the wall panels The bathroom was not good. The facilities feel cheap and the toilet was too low, plus the cheap feeling seat was loose and wobbly. I could not get the in-room coffee maker to work I was not happy with TV channel availability. I was surprised and annoyed that parking was not included. While it did say that when I reserved, I had not noticed as everywhere else I have stayed in the last several years has included parking.
The staff was very professional and always smiling
The room was worn out dated nasty carpet smell or weed in the elevator
Clean, nice decor, very courteous and helpful staff
A/C unit in room very loud causing disturbed sleep Pillows were too soft and flimsy
The bar and restaurant were very good. Starbucks was very overpriced. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
The property advertised an indoor pool and hot tub which it did not have. The ice machine on three floor floors were broken. The refrigerators were extremely tiny .Parking should be included in your hotel fee.
Location was great for one night stay on a trip. Hotel had all of the amenities you expect from a Marriott Hotel. Comfortable bed and great shower.
Waterbury is a depressed town with half of the stores closed in the downtown neighborhood.
The hotel was clean and welcoming. Staff were pleasant. Enjoyed the complimentary coffee and cookies in the lobby.
The noise from the road traffic was a bit loud.
Cleaness, hospitality.!
Not having a microwave in room.
Calm and discreet
Very small room
Fancy
Only one person in bar/restaurant And she was doing room Service as well
The staff was wonderful.
You have to pay $15 per day parking .
They have charged me 4 separate times for 1 stay
The location was very convenient and the room was fairly clean. Check in was easy and the atmosphere was nice.
During our stay in the middle of the night someone opened our door and thankfully we had the door stopper open which alerted us out of our sleep. Not sure who it was trying to open the door but the only other people with key access would have to have been an employee. Parking was $15 a day which was not advertised as such beforehand.
Yes
Na
Staff was friendly and welcoming
The fact they put gratuity on everything especially when I had to wait 20 mins to order and 10 mins for the food
The bedroom was nice
Downstairs very dated. Bathrooms stank. Promise of TV soccer World Cup was not met. Didn’t work. Location next to slummy area.
Had to purchase didn't
Quieter
The convenience of the location.
Carpet smelled dirty.
The scenery of the lobby
no pool
Centralized easy access to highway
It was a good stay
It was just ok. Staff were just ok. Some area clean, some not. Hard to say like and dislike.
Again, staff was just ok. Not friendly but did what was asked. Hotel and parking Bldg and grounds need attention. Halls dirty and room clean and old/worn too. Very noisy, new windows perhaps. I would not recommend.
I did not have a meal there as I had to leave early. Very comfortable and quiet room. Parking was easy.
Staff, clean room and comfortable bed.
TV was not working at one point when first entering the room. Also, the TV lost Internet service several times.
Clean and friendly front desk.
They need to upgrade their coffee maker in the room.
We had an event at the Palace, which was within walking distance. The hotel location was extremely convenient. The room was clean and quiet.
Upon our arrival, there was a line at the check-in and only one person working. We waited in line for more than 25 minutes. The front desk person stated that they are using a new system, and the process is very slow. It shouldn't affect the guest's arrival, and they should have another person available at the 4 p.m. check-in.
The check in process was fast, but the lead check in guy was kind of rude if you asked me. The younger guy who actually checked me in was stressed, and he did a good job of holding it in as I had small talk with him.
The original front desk person told me he'll check me in so come over to him, then he just walked off and told the younger guy to check me in. I checked in and in the room, the older guy then proceeds to call the room and telling me I'm in the wrong room. So how did I get the door open, that's not my mistake, and he had an attitude with it as well. He wasn't stressed because about an hour later I went downstairs, and he's down there laughing and talking with a guy who's clearly drunk sitting in the lobby. Check your cameras.
ive stayed at this hotel multiple times and im always pleased.
We didn’t have a remote
We were driving across the US therefore we have stopped at lots of hotels for one night in random towns. This hotel was extremely reasonable, no issues with the room and the parking in the garage was reasonable and safe. It was such a good nights rest and clean. It was my favorite overnight stop. Also DT has a gorgeous Basilica and other gorgeous Catholic Churches. Stop in at International bakery for a Pasteis de Nata. It's a great city to stop over in as you travel.
No breakfast included. Food at bistro is sub, standard and expensive for the low quality.
Personnel at front desk.
Location was perfect.
Dirty carpet, no cover on the ac vent. Bathroom sink faucet leaked when the hot water was on. The elevators were dirty.
Location, staff, room!
Elevator had large water spill inside
Lors de notre arrivé toilette brisée, manque de papier de toilette et mouchoir. Pour ce qui est de la propreté tout était ok.
Lors de notre arrivé toilette brisée, manque de papier de toilette et mouchoir.
Clean
Couldn’t order food even though we called early enough
Location/ convenience. Friendly and helpful staff.
Overall cleanliness. There were some stains on the sheets, sticky surfaces, and visible stains in the bathroom. The room had a consistent musty smell that didn’t go away after using the A/C.
Well managed and maintained property, with staff who were all very amiable and willing to assist; for my intended purpose of revisiting Waterbury, which is my birthplace, the location was perfect for exploring my grade and high school, my childhood church etc.; and the easy access to Rte. 8 for day visits to Litchfield, quite a scenic route, and then for my preferred highway to Bradley Airport (as I wished to stay off I84);
No dislikes!
It was right next to the palace theater
The location was convenient for our event in Waterbury, the garage parking was good, and the access to the adjacent Italian restaurant was handy.
The carpet and furniture throughout were worn/stained, the elevator doors and floors were banged-up/damaged/dirty, and there was a coffee pod stuck to the air vent in our room, the air intake vent was covered in dust and it looked as though the filter had not been changed in years. The room smelled musty and slightly of cigarette smoke. The thermostat did not seem to work…set to 68 overnight it was 72 when we woke. Set to 67 before breakfast. When we returned to the room it was.76. We were supposed to stay two more nights, but decided to cancel the remaining nights. When we voiced this to the lobby attendant, she just said ok. We got the impression she gets this a lot, and has just run out of excuses/apologies. This hotel has either been forgotten/abandoned by Marriott or their standards have grossly deteriorated. The breakfast at the in-hotel Starbucks was below what we would expect from a Starbucks. We requested two croissant sandwiches to eat in, however they were jammed into cardboard takeout containers. Since they were hot when they put the in, they fused to the container. When we asked for silverware to eat them with we were handed a couple of packages of plastic-wear (this by the same woman who took our order and complained that they did not put it on a plate). More than half of our $30 breakfast ended up in the trash.
The convenience, the amazingly friendly staff and the quick check in process.
I wanted to stay longer!!!!!

Very nice
Liked everything
The staff go out their way to make sure that your stay is comfortable and all you need weather it's from kitchen or in the room.. always a pleasure I will definitely be back next month..
The front desk staff and the kitchen staff.
The staff was very helpful with any questions or concerns that I might have had. There was a young lady in the kitchen staff that was very humble.then I believe there was one on Sunday that showed me.that all she cared about was getting out of their and going home..
The hospitality of the concierge ladies suburb very helpful
I like everything will be back and hoping the day night shift ladies still be working there
I had to pay for parking in the hotel I'm staying in, doesn't make sense to me.
Clean location for an affordable price. Great staff except for the restaurant staff was a little grumpy
Not much. Recommended
It was cozy, well facilitated and convenient for our stay.
Everything was great.
I liked the location, because it was accessible to restaurants, transportation and not noisy. I enjoyed my room so clean and neat. I was very comfortable
That I didn't stay longer
I liked that the property was off the highway. Easy for me to get to my destinations
I tried adjusting the thermostat multiple times. My room was often hot
El cuarto muy bonito
$15 for parking and it’s well lit and monitored through the day. Good clean hotel for a quick one night stay passing through. Small gym with the basics. Free coffee at reception. Reasonable price for stay.

Excelente ubicación cómodo muy espacioso buena vista en fin 100% recomendable
staff very helpful
Hotel was going thru renovations. Icemakers were not working. Appearance of the rooms were old. Shade curtain in room had black tape on it to cover tears. Bathroom tub stopper was stained black and tub did not seem clean. Air unit in room was really loud.
It was comfortable
It was very comfortable and people with mace here
Value
Breakfast was ridiculously expensive. $40 for two people, for what would have been $15 at McDonalds and would have been of the same quality.
