Das sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Personal!!!!! Hilft aber wenig für dieses Hotel zu überleben! Die Wegbeschreibung ist mangelhaft, die Straße zum Hotel eine Katastrophe. Wenn man Glück hat ein Zimmer ohne natürlichen Wildwuchs vor dem Fenster zu bekommen ist die Aussicht fantastisch.

Ziemlich viele Dinge, das Haus hat keinen Charme, ist kalt und obwohl relativ jung nagt der Zahn der Zeit daran. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt überhaupt nicht. Das Frühstück war wohl eher eine Demonstration der Möglichkeiten da es sehr minimal gehalten wurde. Ein Klecks Marmelade und ein Fingernagelgroßes Stück Butter für zwei Personen ist ein schlechter Witz.

Very quiet and peaceful, great for resting and having some time for yourself. The food is really good, and it’s so quiet that you get to have an amazing night. The welcome cocktail is out of this world… I had like 5!

Cannua lodge is located in a magical, lush forest area in the outskirts of Medellin. Waking up every morning to the sounds of birds and going to bed each night to the sounds of frogs was truly special. They are building something special here that brings together ecology and the local community.

The location with the wonderful views, the staff are incredibly kind and helpful — I’d give the 6 stars if I could! The food is out of this world good. A Michelle star chef created menu and it really delivers. Such a delightful surprise! The best meals we are on this trip were at Cannua.

The staff is so very friendly. The view even more beautiful than in all the pictures. The food is excellent. Comfortable beds.

We booked a superior bungalow. These rooms are not properly sealed. Our room was crawling with live spiders & bugs and had over a dozen large dead spiders (which means that the room wasn't properly cleaned prior to check-in). We complained to the front desk and were given some oils and a can of bug spray. At night we were woken up by a large moth on our bed. The next day we immediately shifted hotels but were refused a refund on the remaining 3 unused days. Terrible place and terrible attitude of staff. This is literally my 1st complaint ever about a hotel and I have travelled to over 50 countries and had never had such a terrible experience. Note: Colombia has several species of venomous spiders & we were in an area with a high concentration of vegetation.

Food: This is a gastro-experience and the food we ate rivaled (if not surpassed) all the Colombian fine dining we experienced in Medellin and Colombia. The herbs, vegetables, and flowers, all grown in the local garden were extremely fresh and delicious. Truly some of the best produce I’ve experienced. Drinks: Every cocktail we tried was amazing. Again, they leverage local ingredients and have clearly put a lot of thought into their menu. They also have a wonderful partnership with a local beer brewery and offer 8 Belgian style beers brewed by 2 Belgians who moved to Colombia to bring the style to Latin America (Torrealta Cervezeria) as well as local coffee, rum, and chocolate producers who embody the ethos of Cannua. Design: Though small (18 rooms total), Cannua is stunning. The rooms are bright, well-furnished, and covered in lush greenery. The entire resort boasts stunning views and is meticulously integrated into its environment. Dining tables made of natural wood, muted, natural toned bathrooms with hanging plants, and Staff: All amazing and fluent in English. Special shoutout to Fabian who guided us through the permaculture tour, the chocolate tasting, and had exceptional recommendations at dinner. They are all very bought into the eco philosophy of the resort, and their passion for Cannua is palpable. Experiences: We partook in the chocolate tasting, the permaculture tour, and the pre-hispanic trail hike during our time here. We also got massages. All were great! For the first 3, the staff was extremely knowledgable and personable. On our hike, our guide explained the history of the trail and the diverse flora and fauna to us, and also had us smell and taste a few wild products along the way! The permaculture tour was similarly fantastic, and learning more about the history and philosophies of the property was one of our favorite parts of our stay. Massages were good and affordable ($60 for an hour), though not the focal point of the experience.

Discomforts: The road up to the resort is ROCKY. If you have a bad back or neck, you may find this tough for about 20 mins. Some of the cabanas are very high up and require a good amount of climbing daily at altitude. Not terrible if you’re young and mobile, but again might be a drawback. The hot water gets hot but there’s a tradeoff between pressure and warmth (i.e., only gets truly hot if you are okay with lower pressure). Lastly, there are some bugs but that is to be expected for a resort of this kind — we didn’t find the bugs to be disruptive at all (make sure you leave the lights off when you go to dinner) No coffee maker in non-Cabana rooms: The coffee at breakfast is great, but if you’re a big coffee lover like us you’ll find the trek from your room to breakfast sluggish without your first cup in the room. Salt levels: Many of the dishes were a little on the salty side. If you notice this, definitely ask them to modify and they’ll be more than happy to do so. Food was less salty on our final days.

Un lugar tranquilo con una muy rica oferta gastronómica. Está ubicado en un sitio visualmente acogedor y lleno de belleza natural. Me hubiera gustado estar un poco mas de tiempo para realizar más actividades. El concepto del hotel está basado en un muy interesante modelo ambiental y arquitectónico.

We upgraded to a cabana and were so glad we did - the sense of space and peace was amazing. The food is outstanding quality, from the amuse bouche, to the fresh ingredients used from the gardens. The rum tasting was a fabulous experience, delivered expertly with humour, ease and in which I learnt so much - thank you Fabian.

Altitude plays a part in moving around the resort with ease - that's nothing to do with the hotel, just a nod to being aware that you could get puffy where usually walking is easy!

By far the best place I've ever stayed. We woke up too late to get breakfast, but dinner the night before was phenomenal. Definitely worth a look if you want to treat your loved one.

The drive was long on a dirt road, it's in a rural area. The Uber driver got really upset.

The bungalow was spacious, clean and quiet. The staff went above and beyond to make us happy- especially Fabian. The food was my favorite of the 5 weeks we spent in Columbia - fresh, healthy and flavorful. Also enjoyed the chocolate and rum tastings. A beautiful and restful place!

The shower was really disappointing. Being in a fairly cold lodge (as it is up in the mountains), I was looking forward to a hot nice shower, only to find a shower with no pressure and lukewarm water.

The staff is amazing! The food is incredible. The accommodations are spectacular. This is a must stay. Be sure to take the permaculture tour as well. Honestly the food is better then the best restaurants in Medellin.

It's a Fair hotel. It's more of a eco-friendly story than a good hotel . It's quite expensive for the experience.

Cannua was the highlight of our trip! Everything from the moment we came to the moment we left was perfect. The staff is incredibly helpful and the attention to detail in everything makes it perfect! Food is amazing, very refined.

The public spaces are beautiful and it’s a great space to disconnect.

I found many flaws. The shower is just warm (too cold for some people), the bed is not confortable, there were just 2 low pillows in the bedroom, and the value for money in their restaurant is below ideal (expensive for what they offer, and you don’t have other good options close by). We commented the shower problem with the staff, they were aware, and just said that it’s because the shower heater is electric, but didn’t offer any solution. I really like when I find at hotels staff that are sufficiently empowered to offer better experience.

I came here with my girlfriend just for a night and it far exceeded our expectations. Right from the beginning, the staff was incredible. They had us skip check in because they wanted to make sure we got lunch. During lunch the owner came out to say hi and chatted with us for a bit. Then the food came out and it was amazing. Like, really good. Actually the food the entire time was some of the best I've had in Colombia after living here for a while. We stayed in a bungalow and the room was very spacious and had a great view. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone.

The staff was amazing. They arranged my airport taxis for both arrival/departure. They would send driver's info thru WhatsApp to ensure safety. Upon arrival they escort you to your cabana. The rooms are beautiful, minimalist, and kept cool due to the architectural design. The food with their on-property gardens are top notch. One of the co-owners Brian also took the whole group on a permaculture tour explaining the concepts behind Cannua. Can't wait to make it back

We honestly did not expect Cannua to be as amazing as it was! We expected a nice property with decent food and facilities, but what we got was above and beyond! 1st class customer service, all staff are absolute pleasure to deal with, property is stunning and aesthetically and architecturally fascinating. The story behind the place is inspiring - be sure to take the permaculture tour! Owners are great people. Food is on another level. We count ourselves lucky that we discovered the place early and before it becomes too popular and always booked out, which we are sure it will! Our deep thanks to the owners for creating such a wonderful place.

My husband and I stayed for only one night due to time restrictions on our part, but will definitely be back for a longer stay. Even before getting to the lodge, the staff was already in contact with us offering directions, if we had any special request or need. Very courteous staff, from the front desk, to the server, to the chef (whom by the way, comes out to your table to make sure your plate is to your satisfaction). The property over all is in immaculate condition. The different activities offered are great and very enriching. A place we MUST go back to! Awesome job team! We which you continue success and see you soon!

Excelente vista del valle de San Nicolas. La atención estupenda, muy profesional y amable. Destaco la atención que tuvimos de parte de Fabian. Muy agradecidos con él y la enseñanza de las catas de chocolates y ron. Los demás integrantes del hotel muy atentos incluido el administrador. De la comida ni decir. Exquisita sin perder su caracter innovador y saludable hecha con productos cultivados de la región. La habitacion muy limpia y confortable. The Hotel is set right at the top of a hill in the middle of an amazing Antioquian landscape filled with Fincas and forests. The permaculture concept of the hotel was really impressive. The hotel was build out of compressed earth blocks and bamboo. The garden due to the permaculture concept can seem a bit wild but is ultimately beautiful and fits right in to the sourounding landscape. I was amazed by the numbers of birds you can observe all over the property. The food, especially the tasting menu was fantastic and reasonably priced. The bread served with the breakfast is probably the best I had so far in Colombia. We stayed in one of the cabañas which are spacious and sport a confy bed. The view from the cabañas is breathtaking, even more so if you are lucky enough to witness a thunderstorm over the valley. The service was excellent and especially Santiago the hotel manager was always around if needed and loved to tell tales of nature and sustainability. All in all an amazing experience.

This place is AMAZING! The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. The view from the bedroom was unbelievably. And everything on the menu was GREAT!! Cant think of a better place to get away from it all!!

Although the property is beautiful, they fail to tell you that the road to the property is in the worst condition (not paved) and if you go at night you will damage your car. Once you get near the property, this so called path with pebbles and huge holes gets worse. They made the property beautiful but didn’t care how guests get to the property. If you get stuck, there is no u-turn on that path to turn around. The most horrible experience we ever had trying reach at this place. They were constantly in touch with us and knew we were arriving at 10pm and never told us about the extremely poor road conditions. Then they overcharged at the at reception and we had to tell them they overcharged. Worst experience ever in traveling. Worst management and staff who don’t care how you arrive at this place.
