The hotel is very tired and the public areas especially the breakfast room feel like an extension of the car park. Ceilings are low and lighting appalling. Just couldn’t wait to leave. The floor numbers are complicated - not matching with the adjoining car park. Access though to the hotel if arriving by car is easy and the hotel gave clear instructions when requested. Hotel is very well situated for town centre. Good beds, good bathrooms but as always only one towel per person - I wanted to wash my hair so had to go to reception for an extra towel. AC a bit anemic and it was only 27C outdoors. Carpets stained in public areas, just very shabby in general. Access from car park positively shabby. Staff were absolutely charming. Breakfast a bit sad. Rotten black bananas on display !!
We came to Montpellier for a wedding celebration and we intentionally booked ibis centre comedie for its convenient walkable distance, and easy access as well as central location... our stay was nothing but smooth and comfortable and the front line team, were all super helpful, hats down to "Paula" from the front line team, who always went the extra mile to make sure our family gathering is happening in the best circumstances plus all guests were well set. This was not our first stay in Montpellier nor in Ibis, and my only comment is that the hotel is due for some refurbishment and if I had a recommendation, would be for house keeping to be more precise in their work... but none of above was a breaker to our holiday and celebration and now Ibis comes with memories .
Very nice big room with a view over the city, very polite staff
Very friendly staff
Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was constantly replenished. The reception area was welcoming, cool and spacious. The rooms need a little updating, more specifically the bathrooms. The location of this hotel is perfect.
The pictures on line are misleading. Felt more like a private room at a hostel than a nice hotel. In need of some serious upgrades, and in need of deeper cleaning ( especially in the bathrooms). The staff is very nice and accommodating.
The hotel was very nice and the downtown location was very practical. During my stay it was very hot in Montpellier and the only limitation experienced was that the air conditioning system was not powerful enough to cool the room to my satisfaction.
The room is was okay. It wasn’t up to expectations. Odd location in a mall and the bed was that comfortable
Tres bon hôtel et personnel adorable, je recommande !
Loved the location. Great for a 3 star accommodation. Staff was very accommodating , helpful and pleasant.
Bathroom was dirty, they never went to clean de room. Staff was ok but the hotel is horrible, even though its in a good area the room was dirty.
Week end sur Montpellier, je retiens le confort de la chambre, avec une salle d'eau spacieuse, et très silencieux. Situé à 50 mètre de la place de la comedie et du centre, et à côté du centre commercial Polygone.
Location is at the city centre, near to Saint Roche train station. It was good stay. Lot of restaurants near by.
Hotel with a great location, right next to the Polygone shopping center, but it needs an urgent update, furniture was old and stained, room floor was dirty, bed was uncomfortable. There are better options for a similar price in the Montpellier city center.
Beautiful and central place, ideal for a short visit
I feel a little unsafe with the back entrance
Decor was awful and rather tired, and area outside main entrance rather awkwardly on a paved slope and tucked away from view. Towels rather skimpy. However - hotel was very clean and well run, room was spacious and comfortable, staff were lovely, and central position in pedestrian area was excellent with station, trams, restaurants, museums and the Esplanade ( plane trees, fountains, bars and cafés) just a few minutes walk away. Plus the breakfast buffet was ample, fresh and good quality each morning. We enjoyed our stay in Montpellier.
Awesome location. No nonsense accommodation. Highly recommend. Parking was easy and walking distance to the square is even closer as it is accessible by elevator in the hotel.
Great location. Friendly staff. Room needed updating.
The property itself is not that great. But location is amazing. Staff is very nice and helpful. Parking very convenient. Would stay again
Llegar al pàrquing fue complicado y caotico. Salir tambien. La decoració de los pasillos no és agradable. Lo mejor es la situación.
The reception is nice and welcoming. The rooms are like entering 3 decades ago. Aircon sits in the wall 50cm up from the floor… basically blows cold air on you without you being able to do anything about it. It is however located nicely and has underground parking. Reception speaks English and are helpful. Would probably work for 1 night. More than that there are other ibis hotels for a mere few euros extra to stay at.
Worst traveling experience in my live I don’t recommend booking in that hotel
Bang on city centre where most things happening
Quiet and clean hotel. The room fitted all my family members ( 02 adults and 02 children). Very delicious breakfast as usual in Accor hotels. The only negative point is the elevator. Just One fonctioning elevator was a misery especially when you have a very young child. Because of the crowd a was compelled to Carry my boy and my luggage and use the stairs just to not miss the train.
Easy walk from train station and right next to the heart of the old town!
The property is right in the heart of the city
Great location near the Placa Comedie
Perfect central location, big clean room, great breakfast. Ideal place to stay for a city break to Montpellier.
It would have been good to be able to make a cup of coffee in the room
This was a lovely hotel. We stayed 4 nights in October. Room was spacious enough and had AC (it was still hot this month). Very quiet and a comfortable bed. Bathroom was spacious enough, but I do not like that there is NO place to put your things in the shower - there's just this little, round soap holder that is completely useless. It's so annoying - why can't hotels give you some ledge or shelf space in the shower area to place your things - ugh! The breakfast was terrifice!! It's in a room down in the basement, which is cheerful, spacious, and cozy. The selections are very good!! You can choose from all kinds of breads, cereals, eggs, yogurt, fruits, jams, pastries, toast, crepes, juices..... There are two coffee machines that provide good, quality coffees of your choosing and a great selection of teas. The breakfast is probably the best part. The people are very friendly and helpful. It's located right in the Triangle of the older and charming part of Montpellier where there are many shops and gorgeous old-style streets lined with outdoor dining. It's also walking distance to the train station and the trams run right by there, so it's VERY convenient to everything. I highly recommend this hotel and where it's located.
Very convenient location on the edge of the old town. Underground parking at €15 a day. Friendly staff. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t review that.
Hotel is doing the bare minimum in most areas. Rooms are large but spartan with tacky posters describing “services.” Overall sort of grimy feeling to everything. Example - they needed to make a change to the floor map in the elevator, so they used white-out to cover the incorrect info and to draw in the new … tacky. Special note - if you’re coming from the train station, there is an entrance on the mall level, but it’s a little hard to find, then you have to take the elevator down to reception - otherwise you have to walk around the block to get to the entrance.
City centre location
Quite difficult to find, but once found, felt away independent and 'far' from the shopping centre next door. In a very convenient location, lots of food, shopping, drinks etc.
Kindesr staff
In the middle of the city center, easy access to a paid parking, close to all restaurants and shooting malls
I always check in IBIS MONTPELLIER triangle place de la comedie and next to Polygone center . I have even sometimes showed up without pre booking hence they were supportive. It is literally in the heart of the city just exactly where everyone would like to be when visiting Montpellier.
Aside from being a really ugly building, the hotel is OK. Hallway carpets are filthy but the room was clean, and everything worked ok. Good enough bed. Location is perfect for the central walking neighborhood and the train station. Entrance can be confusing to find, but it's there.
The staff was amazing! Friendly, helpful. The hotel is a bit old and smells very weird. The bathrooms were ok. The lights flicker violently before turning on so it makes for an unpleasant entry. The AC didn’t work too well but opening the window is limited. And when we did, we got hit by mosquitos. The hotel is attached to a dilapidated strip mall type area. But it was very close to where we wanted to explore. Parking is available and cheaper through the hotel.
We were really pleased with our stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful which we always appreciate when travelling with a 6 month old baby. The elevators were big enough for a pram as well which isn't always the case. There was a water cooler in reception which was very handy as it was a warm day while we were there. The gentleman on reception very kindly helped us heat our food for tea, and there was the use of a fridge to store some food overnight. The fact that the staff all spoke fluent English was massively helpful, I can speak some French but not really enough, and it just makes our stay so much easier. On the morning of checkout, we checked out early to go an catch our train but found our train was cancelled, but the hotel were very helpful in allowing us to check back in to the room for a few hours while we waited for the next train, again this was very helpful with a baby who needed to nap. The location is also great being near the main square so a pleasant walking tour is easy to do.
The hotel is extremely run down. The furniture is easily 20 years old. The rooms are also dirty (layer of dust under the bed for example). Also the rooms miss the absolute basics like cups or classes (there was 1 paper cup for a room for 40) or pillows. Parking is also a joke. The entrance is 1.9m high. Any bigger SUV or VAN doesnt fit, and the next parking area that can take bigger cars is 1km away. Last but not least: the employees use the hotel drive way, which is supposed to be for guessed/taxis to drop off/pick up people, for their own cars, so that there is essentially no space left for the guests or taxis.
Good basic clean fine !!!
Clean, riom was large
We stayed here for one night in January 2023. As with all Ibis hotels, you know what you're going to get and this hotel was as we expected. The room was fairly basic with few extras, ie no safe, no tea and coffee facilities. However, the bed was comfortable and, even though our room looked out over a public plaza, there was no noise. The buffet breakfast was also somewhat basic compared with other breakfasts that we have had in France. However, there was an adequate range. The location of this hotel was good, just a 10-minute walk from the railway station (up a slight slope) and right beside the Galeries Lafayette shopping centre with lots of shops, although it was closed on Sunday (like almost everything else in Montpellier). Beside the hotel there is a Carrefour supermarket and there are plenty of restaurants around. There is a small bar in the hotel that offers drinks and pizzas. The service in this hotel was polite and friendly. That made a difference.
This ibis is a favourite hotel of my husband and me. The staff are wonderfully welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them, and they make us feel special. The rooms are more spacious than in many ibis hotels, with a sofa as well as the standard ibis divinely comfortable bed. Always spotlessly clean. Good bathroom and shower, with great liquid soap and shampoo provided in large eco friendly pump bottles. We didn’t try the breakfasts so can’t comment on that. Location excellent and central: could t be better. And… did I mention the lovely staff? They’re the best!
Nice
The staff was very nice however the hotel was old and a bit dirty. Not what I was expecting. At first we got really scared about the area it really seemed unsafe. However when we walked around during the day we realized that it has an amazing location! It is just a bit scary at night.
Late check-in was very straightforward.
Large rooms, can easily fit 2 or 3, in the heart of the city, great staff. Unfortunately missing the little "extras" you'd expect: small fridge, safe, coffee machine, tea bags, water bottles in the rooms, etc. Despite that, I will definitely stay there again.
One of the better Ibis hotels I’ve experienced, great location, everything within walking distance and only a 20 minute tram ride to the coast.
Your typical Ibis facilities. What you see is what you get however, much like many of the Ibis hotels, it could really do with a spruce up. The bathroom in particular, dated and tired. Old, knackered flooring, shower which may give the impression of not being spotlessly clean... Lovely staff but hotel is overpriced for the services you actually get.
chambre deprimante . on se sent pas bien dans cet hotel . a ce prix il y a d'autres hotels dans MONTPELLIER CENTRE avec du cachet une âme .
Horrible management totally unresponsive and inflexible to customers.
La douche un peu"viellote"!
It was my best IBIS hotel, was very impressed .
Great location and service is 5*
Great location to everything. Staff was very nice and helpful. Good value for hotel.
Very basic , value for money. Definitely worth it. If can improve on hangers for clothes in bath room.
Clean, great location, nice room, great breakfast. Overall a great and affordable hotel.
The hotel is very well situated both for nearby events and excellent restaurants, but also for getting further afield by using the tram system.
A very good commercial hotel offering a relaxed good breakfast supervised by efficient and very helpful staff.
Excellent location and Service!!! will come back again for sure! Close to everything.
great location, but lack of staff at reception. Staff is not polite and rooms are not totally clean
Very centrally located hotel. Looks a bit "tired". Very friendly staff. The website should point out that the parking is difficult to find.....
very hard to navigate the streets to the hotel if you're driving, but the hotel itself was ok.
I have a cut on my toe where the waitress made a tray land on my toe
No coffee machine in the room. No toiletries. Clean room and nice helpfull receptionist.
My room smelled like smoke, it wasn’t a clean hotel. Parking was confusing and staff wasn’t helpful. No flexibility with checking out.
My son fell ill during our stay and the staffs were very helpful with how we can seek medical help around. We were given extra bed sheets to change ourselves when our son vomitted, which was not surprising given the price we have paid.
Great spot good price. Would recommend for a quick trip to Montpellier
The location is fantastic, only a two-minute walk from the beautiful Place De la Comedie. The breakfast provided by the hotel is very good and generously left out until noon. While there wasn’t much in the way of hot food options, the meats, cheeses, croissants and baguettes made up for it. The cleaning staff was very much on top of things. On two days in a row, when I first left my room, it was clean when I got back to the hotel about two hours later.
Delightful Montpellier, hotel right in the centre of Place Comedie, close to the old town, bars, restaurants, shopping & a short walk to the train station. Hotel was very good (bar some horrendous excavating noise from next door on our last day). Staff, facilities, bed, large room all good, Would stay here again for another 4 days(or more).
Amazing location in the heart of Old Montpellier. Large room with comfortable bed.
Place to stay !
The hotel is very central - right next to the big main square, basically on the transition between the older part of town and the new modern part. It's an efficient, corporate hotel, without much character, but convenient and welcoming; we had a spacious, comfortable room, nice and clean bathroom, and the staff was professional. We didn't have the breakfast; the wifi was fine.
Room was with bad odor (smoking) and the hotel people tried to minimize it.... just opening the windows before my check-in
Nice location. Close to the main station / old town / Polygone shopping center. Air conditioning is okay. Breakfast is okay but not good.
Perfectly placed, very clean and cheap. Large comfortable beds. Couldn’t have wished for a better location. We were on a road trip so every place we stopped we needed to be in the thick of it with minimal fuss and this place didn’t disappoint!!
Very spacious room for the price and conveiniently located in the city.
Good location close to Place de la Comédie. Communal areas are stylish, rooms though are quite dated (wood chip wall paper). We had to move rooms because the air con didn’t work in our first room. In the second it was marginally better. We were overlooking the Polygone area, around 25 degrees outside and sunny. The air con struggle to cope and any hotter and it would have been unconfortable. Service was basic without being good. Train strikes were planned on our day of departure and no help on how best to get back to Beziers airport (actually quoted us €200 for a taxi, with Uber it was actially €87!).
Excellent location, good rooms, available parking.
Hotel was centrally located and in nice condition. The only real problem was the bed was so uncomfortable. With a nice thick mattress the experience would have been better.
Large, but pretty standard room, no kettle in the room. Water kept running in the toilet after flushing. Just two large towels. Shopping malls around the hotel. Place de la Comedie literally 2 minute walk away from entrance. Bio foods store next to entrance. There is a "bar", served by receptionist, but no cosy sitting area. Just a room with a counter where you have to call receptionist over to be served. Glass of Kronenbeurg €6. Bought a tea, the guy poured water in a cup and put it in a microwave to heat up.. staff nice.
The room was bigger than the other Ibis hotels I have stayed in. Also, it was very clean. The hotel is located 5 minutes away from the Jean d'Arc station, which is only 2 stops from Jean Jaures.
All went well. I love the location of the hotel. So nice to go outside and have everything within a short walk. The staff spoke great English. I enjoyed the views from my room. Overall, the stay went off without a hitch. A very good option for a Montpellier visit.
Right Downtown. Nice service. Quiet ans clean. Perfect breakfast
I enjoyed Montpellier so much and the Hotel made it even better. The hotel was clean, located next to the main attractions in the city and the breakfast was really good...
Nice formthe price!
AMAZING location! within a minute of the city center near great restaurants, shopping, museums and attractions. Secure access to lobby and room and convenient (paid) parking.
Friendly receptionist and very centred area! Can't complain! Well actually the wifi connection can be improved a lil bit :)
Good basic hotel, clean and nice staff. Perfectly located for city centre.
Used. As a stopover, good location, parking is via local prking 2p, and access Ibis via elevator from parking
The personnel was efficient and the room was clean. The hotel is in the center of the city, very practical to visit Montpellier.
