Hyggelig, særpreg, god atmosfære, genuint, utenom det vanlige

Vertene hadde tilrettelagt oppholdet/hotellkonseptet slik at man følte de virkelig brydde som om at hver gjest hadde det flott. Fantastisk mat. Lun og hjemmekoselig stemning med flott kunst og masse bøker.

Nydelig beliggenhet, veldig velholdt historisk bygg, koselig stemning, god frokost, lærerik vinsmaking med gode viner, hyggelig personal. Vi likte alt ved dette stedet.

Nydelig atmosfære, veldig koselige rom, svært vennlig og imøtekommende personale, sentralt beliggende for mange herlige fjellturer.

Frokosten var meget god, kunne vært noe rausere. Savnet grovere brød og knekkebrød.

Enkel, men god frokost med lokale råvarer. Personalet var helt enestående!!Fikk oppmerksomhet fra alle ledd på hotellet🤗Gode senger og flotte fellesbad.

Fantastisk personale, service, atmosfære og helt nydelig treretters middag! Frokosten var enkel, men kortreist og smakfull.

Visste ikke at det var sko-fri sone inne, ellers hadde jeg tatt med egnede innesko.

Sjarmerende hotell i «gammel» stil Hyggelig og hjelpsom betjening. God mat! Eneste minus var støy fra bilvei om natten, noe betjeningen var helt klar over, så vi fikk ørepropper for nattesøvnen! Bra. Kommer gjerne tilbake!

Das Sommerhotellet ist immer eine Reise wert. Die Lage, die Landschaft, das Essen... Vor allem aber die Menschen, die es uns zu einem unvergesslichen Aufenthalt gemacht haben. Es steckt viel Herzblut in der Gestaltung und und der familiären Leitung. Hotel mit viel Herz.

Fantastisk sted med mye autentisk sjarm. Anbefaler å bestille med 3-rettersmiddag som besto av lokale råvarer som smakte særdeles godt. Naturen og utsikten fra restauranten ut mot innsjø og fjell er nydelig.

Fantastisk frokost og beliggenhet. Hotell med sjarm, og bare kortreist god mat. Koselige stuer og soverom med møbler med sjarm.

Sommerhotellet i Vang er en idyll! Man bor midt i den vakre Valdresnaturen helt nedtil Vangsmjøsa, midt i matfatet og dette er stedet man får igjen pusten. Middagen presenteres for alle gjestene kl.19 og personalet peker ut av vinduet og forklarer hvor ingrediensene kommer fra. Personalet har gode vinkunnskaper og gode anbefalinger til rettene. Frokostbuffeen har hjemmebakt surdeigsbrød, smør kjernet av lokal mjølk, lokale oster, hjemmelaget syltetøy, grønnsakene dyrkes i deres kjøkkenhage/gartneri på andre siden av veien, lokale pølser/skinke, bær fra samarbeidende produsenter i regionen, egg fra lokale høner - you name it! Rommene er nydelig malt i ulike farger og har sjel og særegent uttrykk. I fellesrommene kan du synke ned i gamle og gode stoler og sofaer, og stuene har sine historiske preg. I vannkanten ligger hotellets badstue. Vi bade badstue og badet i Vangsmjøsa i begynnelsen av august! Liker du fjellturer er dette et ypperlig utgangspunkt og fantastisk hvilested. Hotellet ligger tett inntil E16, med sin trafikk til og fra Vestlandet, så be om vindu mot Vangsmjøsa.

Sehr nettes Personal, sowie sehr Hilfsbereit. Wurde sogar zum Einstieg für die Wanderung gefahren. Essen hervorragend mit hochstehenden Regionalproduken. Jederzeit wieder!!!

De gastvrouw die alles doet om het je naar de zin te maken. Tevens is ze een uitstekende kok en daar eten is absoluut aan te raden! Alles van lokale leveranciers en zelf geteelde groenten etc. Dat geldt ook voor het ontbijt. Misschien is de keuze minder dan in grote hotels maar de kwaliteit is veel en veel beter! En wees eerlijk: haal je die 17-18 euro per ontbijt er nou ooit uit in die grote hotels? Ik dacht het niet. De lokatie is geweldig aan het meer en het hotel ademt echt Scandinavische sfeer uit. Echt een aanrader!

3 retters middag om aftenen var fantastisk. Sød hotelværtinde. Pæne badeværelser trods det var dele badeværelser på gangen.

Dette er en et veldig pent og hyggelig hotell med sjarmerende ansatte. Burde få mange besøk. Badstua ved innsjøen anbefales ekstra varmt.

Great views. Sauna available for an hourly rate. Staff and dinner was lovely. Not much in the town so recommend reserving dinner at the hotel. It was delicious and fairly priced, you won’t regret it.

Accommodations and breakfast were great. Nice view of lake and mountains!

Wifi was spotty in my room. Guests above walking around a lot on creaky floorboards. I had to use provided earplugs in order to sleep...

Super nice view and dinner. All hiking routes are close to you. One night is not enough

It was amazing from the beginning we were treated with respect and kindness. Very clean and fantastic location. Dinner and breakfast was one of the best meals through our hole trip.it was most local food and drinks prepared by amazing chef. Highly recommended this place ♥️♥️♥️♥️

This place is incredible. Charming, authentic and 110% worth a visit. Don’t skip the dinner if you’re curious about hyper local flavours and an excellent bar menu. It’s worth every penny. We also tried the sauna with a lake dip - a must! They warned us about potential noise, and while you do occasionally hear the neighbours, it really didn’t bother us. Only thing we regret is not booking another night!

God service, nydelig kortreist mat i vakre omgivelser. Den omtalte trafikkstøyen ble null problem med øreproppene som fulgte med rommet ( Vi lå med åpent vindu pga den friske fjellufta) Svært komfortable senger. Vi kommer tilbake 😍

Lovely place - the lake nearby is picturesque, the rooms and common areas are all very nicely done.

Nothing. Bathrooms are shared (though spacious and clean). Walls a bit thin (it’s an old school building), but the hotel provides earplugs. We didn’t have any issues.

The room is rather plain and no ensuite toilet. Price is rather high.

The view from the room over the fjord is amazing, and it's such a peaceful spot. The best part though was the food - we are both vegetarians and my wife is pregnant and they adapted the 3-course dinner in the evening perfectly for us. It was 10/10 food both for dinner and breakfast, which was amazing considering that there's not really any other option in the area. We could barely leave the hotel as we had such horrible weather due to the storm, but it was still such a cosy stay.

Beautiful building full of character and lovely decor. Don’t forget to sign up for the set menu evening meal of delicious local produce. It was fantastic. We also recommend booking the sauna on the beach,we did it before breakfast. A great way to start the day before a few hours on the motorbike.

Adorable place and people lakeside, opd renovated home several stories as good as it gets for this type of staying stylish relaxing best air, views. We enjoyed it much. Home grown plants used for meals, dessert we appreciated the uniqueness. The setup what can not be changed several rooms has one bathroom is minimally uncomfortable but this is given how the house was built, was not muchnof an issue. They even have lakeside SAUNA that is amazing. Sauna need to be advertised more Its a big add on for a tired traveller. The hotel house also has no sign on it with its name so was not the easiest to find the GPS was correct though. Totally recommend to stay!

Simple but very nice breakfast. Beautiful view and surroundings. The place is very clean, nice staff. Can highly recommend.

This place is an absolute gem! The hotel is both sophisticated and cozy; breathtaking views, decor, and interiors. We were blown away by the dinner and the accompanying beer and wine service. It rivaled any Michelin starred experience we had this trip, but exceeded all by its setting and lovely service. The food featured original takes on local ingredients and was artfully plated. Another highlight was the sauna. It has a giant class window facing the lake that you must cold plunge into for the complete experience. Our only regret is that we only booked one night.

Breakfast was also fantastic, but we could have enjoyed a few more dairy free options.

Fantastic location and amazing dinner cooked by chef Julie who made us an amazing vegetarian dinner and accommodated a very early checkout by having an incredible breakfast ready ahead of their regularly scheduled time. Can’t recommend enough.

What a beautiful place to stay! A lovely historic hotel on a fjord surrounded by mountains with waterfalls. Just gorgeous. Very comfortable stay in the beautifully renovated hotel. The breakfast was wonderful. The host Julie was so nice and shared info about the area and the hotel history.

What an amazing experience! Our stay was beyond expectations, as it felt like we went back in time a century, just to have some time to relax and enjoy the tranquil views! We stayed at Sommerhotellet after completing the Besseggen hike and enjoyed every moment of it! We woke up to chef-level breakfast which was prepared to perfection alongside classical music and a beautiful view! After enjoying breakfast, we were welcomed into the Sauna which is located right on the hotel's private shore. We couldn't have asked for anything more! What an amazing place!

It's an old building, so it's not noise-proof. But everything else made up for that issue.

Vi hadde en veldig fin helg på dette superkoselige hotellet. De ansatte var svært imøtekommende og trivelige. Vi var litt skeptiske til å dele baderom, men opplevde dette som uproblematisk. Dette fordi det på badene, som ellers på hotellet, var veldig rent. Utsikten fra spisesalen er helt fantstisk og maten som ble servert var nydelig, både i utseende og smak!

Manager and hostess became quick friends providing everything from a ride to a trailhead to a sauna experience right off the back deck on the lake. Breakfast was traditional but the quality was exceptional (we’d had 4 other places to compare it to) as everything was farm to fork. We chose the three course dinner which was traditional but again as beautifully created by any dinner I’ve had in NYC and Paris. The use of fresh ingredients coupled with the design flare of presentation was a treat beyond expectations. The rooms are neat charming and comfortable. The shared bathroom was perfect and the floor heated. The common areas were tastefully furnished and inviting. The view of the lake which mirrored in detail the mountains pastures and homes across the way was simply breathtaking. Vang is a pastoral gem with kind people, easy access due to NOR-WAY buses and fun with nearby hiking and boating The helpful manager who also got us a place to stay in sold out Flåm was the icing on the cake!

Breakfast was excellent with local foods and delicious freshly baked bread. Dinner was artwork and very tasteful.

Ganske idyllisk opphold med svært god mat. Eneste negative hvis jeg måtte kommentert noe er at hotellet er lytt innvendig og for oss som lå mot veien. Men selv med dette er vi strålende fornøyd! Historisk og koselig hotell :)
