Reviewed Jul 14, 2026I really like location and the options to hike around the property. The pool was great maintained and really peaceful. Rooms were also spacious and comfortable. We would come back anytime!
I think what could be improved is the attentiveness of the service e.g. to be proactive at the breakfast and offer coffee or also share some insights at check in about the property and history of the farm.

Reviewed Jul 8, 2026Very nice farmhouse in a beautiful setting, nice pool area with good loungers and umbrellas, decent breakfast, and a comfortable and well appointed room. Good base for trips to various beaches, all within 20-30 mins by car.
The staff seemed a little indifferent and service lukewarm, but perhaps a language issue. Breakfast was a little repetitive and started on the late side (9am).

Reviewed Jun 27, 2026Everything at Herdade das Barradas was exceptional. It was as if I'd stepped back in time to the French countryside (although it was Portugal), with sheep roaming and a charming chateau with wooden ceiling beams, whitewashed walls, antique fixtures, and a breakfast spread featuring the freshest fruit, a selection of breads, meats, and fresh juices. The pool was very nice with every type of accoutrement for your enjoyment. We went on a fascinating tour of the cork trees surrounding the property. I'll never look at a cork stopper the same way again.
That I didn't book to stay longer.

Reviewed May 18, 2026Die Unterkunft liegt in mitten wunderschöner Natur. Das Anwesen ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und bietet alles was das Herz begehrt. Das Frühstück in der Unterkunft war außergewöhnlich frisch und vielfältig.
Wir hätten gerne mehr zu der Unterkunft und der Umgebung von den Gastgebern erfahren, aber leider waren sie nicht so kommunikativ.

Reviewed May 3, 2026Pequeno-almoço excelente. Os snacks do bar também foram maravilhosos. O sossego e o conforto do quarto. Apenas se ouvem os passarinhos. Simpatia do staff. Apenas acrescentava uma sala de fitness com algumas maquinas de treino.
O wifi do quarto podia ser um pouco melhor.

Reviewed Apr 23, 2026Meine Frau und ich waren die letzte Nacht vor unserem Rückflug von Lissabon nach Deutschland in dieser Unterkunft - im Nachhinein ein großer Fehler nur eine Nacht hier zu bleiben! Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und durften uns zwischen zwei Zimmern entscheiden. Das Zimmer war riesig , mit Terrasse und herrlichem Blick ins Grüne. Wir haben vor dem Abendessen noch eine ca. 1,5 stündige Wanderung (blaue Route) in dem zum Anwesen gehörenden Korkeichenwald gemacht, ein Traum! Natur Pur, überall blüt und duftet es, man kommt an kleinen Bachläufen und Seen vorbei. Anschließend haben wir den Abend bei sehr leckeren Tapas & Wein im ur gemütlichen Restaurant des Hauses ausklingen lassen. Das Bett war extrem bequem und die Unterkunft sehr ruhig. Nach einem äußerst leckeren Frühstück mussten wir uns leider schon wieder auf den Weg nach Hause machen. Wir hätten uns aber keinen gelungeneren Abschluss unseres Urlaubs vorstellen können!

Reviewed Apr 6, 2026What an absolutely stunning stay. The pictures of the property are gorgeous, but actually seeing it with your own eyes is next level. Staying here felt like a calm oasis. Birds chirping throughout the day, and crickets by night. Delicious breakfast every day, a really nice sized studio where we cooked fresh fish in the kitchen and had a nice solid sleep by night. Also loved the extra little touches of delivering mini Easter eggs over the holidays, the delicious fresh olive oil which tasted incredible, and the delivery of fresh condiments to our spot mere minutes after we asked about it. Finally, we also love love loved the hiking trails. We finished our stay with the 5k hike on the morning. Stunning!
That we had to leave! We'll be back next year.

Talvez um comentário que penso que poderia ser evitado sobre a questão (se acontecesse) do nosso filho de 4 anos sujar o tecido da cadeira em que estava sentado. É o que é, o que se suja limpa-se e achamos um pouco inconveniente. De resto, absolutamente nada a apontar. Empregados prestáveis, simpáticos e atenciosos.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026La proximité avec la ville (restaurants) et les plages est très pratique. Nous avions une voiture. Le personnel est très gentil. Nous avons eu un problème avec un siège de WC et un lavabo bouché, le problème a été signalé à la directrice et réglé en quelques heures, nous avons apprécié cette réactivité. Nous avions loué un studio, il était en très bon état.
L'accueil par la directrice a vraiment manqué de chaleur et pour le reste du séjour également. Sur le site booking, le petit déjeuné est qualifié de fabuleux. Il était vraiment basique : les 4 jours deux mêmes sortes de pain prétranché de supermarché, pour la charcuterie aussi grosse déception, les jus de fruits n'étaient pas frais, il n'y a avait qu'une sorte de beurre, du salé (donc avec la confiture pas idéal), une seule sorte de confiture et du miel. Pour le petit-déjeuner, nous avons vraiment ressenti qu'il était " à l'économie". Donc si sur booking c'est noté "basique", alors ok mais pas "fabuleux". Pour nous, le lit de 160 cm était trop étroit, en plus il était posé sur une caisse (jolie note pour la décoration mais pas du tout pratique quand on se tourne, la caisse bouge...).

You can see that there was a lot of work added in maintaining everything which we appreciate. The staff was lovely and welcoming; they serve tapas-style dinner, which was more than enough for us, maybe staying for more days would get a bit hard regarding the food choice, but I saw there are some restaurants nearby to explore. The breakfast was great.
the pillows were quite small and hard, but it was a minor issue for us. Can't complain on anything else!

Reviewed Sep 12, 2025Es war alles sehr durchdacht in den Zimmern. Es gab viele Kleiderhaken im Badezimmer, viele schränke um Dinge abzulegen, ausreichend Steckdosen, das Frühstück war auch sehr gut! Jeden Tag wechselndes Obst, Kuchen jeden Tag frisch zubereitet, der Kaffee war sehr lecker (hatte ich noch nie im Urlaub und ich Reise viel) frischer Tee alles was das Herz begehrt, Wir hatten ein kleines Problem im Zimmer mit dem Bett und uns wurde direkt geholfen !! Das ist auch nicht selbstverständlich! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder !
Unser Bett war etwas klein aber uns wurde geholfen und etwas zu hart aber das ist ja Geschmacksache, die Straße war von unserem Zimmer relativ gut zu hören aber hat uns nicht weiter gestört, der Kühlschrank im Zimmer kühlt nicht richtig und ist sehr laut,

Reviewed Dec 6, 2024We stayed in a unit with a kitchenette . The design of the unit is nicely done with quality running throughout. The spacious clothing cupboard was wonderful. There are plenty of electric wall plugs, even one outside on the patio. We really enjoyed the inside fireplace. The bed was comfortable and big. The electric car charger point is a bonus. The hostess was friendly. The host provided us with a lot of information regarding the oak trees. The main dining room and lounge is very inviting.
We will come back.

A Tesla charger is available for the guests. The place is beautiful and authentic, very cosy and welcoming. We will definitely be back. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

Safe, clean, with wonderful views , comfy rooms with 4 star amenities and a great pool and garden area. Being welcomed by the owners adds this personal touch. Breakfast is fabulous and the personnel attentive and super friendly. We will be back with pleasure to spend more time to explore the estate and surroundings
