Sehr, sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Mitarbeiter, zentrale Lage, sehr modern

Nice quiet Hotel.
The beds could be bigger. For sure I will come back good location in the centre with easy parking. Dog friendly! Breakfast could be better (standard buffet)
Alles gut, nur etwas hellhörig.
Super Lage - alles per Fuss erreichbar
Near to hıstorıcal and mystery place/ we lıve durıng 3 days wıth our frıends and everythıng ıs wonderful.
Good location near Dutch quarter with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. Michael on reception gave us a rundown of all the things to do and see in Potsdam, with some history too, which was great.
Gute Lage, sauberes Hotel mit Charme, nettes Personal. Direkte Verbindung zum Bahnhof mit Tram 92 und 96.
Eigentlich eine gute Lage und gute Adresse. Zimmer 170,00€ da sollte man meinen TOP.
nice property. no free coffee in the morning in the room or in the reception area which seems uncommon.
Sehr freundliches Personal
Very comfortable and well run hotel.
In a courtyard in the centre of Potsdam in the Dutch quarter near bars and restaurant. It has a garage in its courtyard. The rooms are comfortable, the pillow was perfect. They provided a free bottle of water. There is soap and shampoo and bath cap, plus hair dryer, a fridge, no safe. I had no breakfast because it was not included in my room.
Large and comfortable rooms. Good breakfast, if a little on the pricey side. The place is quiet, not being directly on the street but at the end of an inner yard. Close to everything in central old potsdam.
Gutes Hotel in sehr guter Lage
The family room is great and spacious. Two connecting room , only one with bathroom. The room configuration can even have 3 room connected together. Paid parking lot going into garage need some patience, it’s almost one way. Took in details, handwritten welcome. The children were happy , given Christmas slippers and chocolate Santa goodies. Well appreciated
Not a 4 stars hotel at all. . Very poor design form 1970 and Not updated hotel without enough parking. Staff is not too good.If you can pay &50 more go to another hotel. This one is DDR desperation If you are Trever with a car do not book this hotel. !!!!!!!
Very comfortable bed and nice breakfast buffet. Room was too hot and no Air Conditioning was available. It cooled down in the evenings. I will stay here again but not during summer months.
Great location with walkable streets and lots of things to see and do. Easy access to public transportation for farther excursions. It has no AC and I visited during a heatwave so…
The place is very beautiful and in such a great area. Very easy to check in and nice staff. Can leave your bag if you need. However, they gave me a room that required stairs, half a flight down and then another whole flight up. It was worth it in the end as view was incredible from room but please request strep free access room if needed. I had a friend to help me lug my stuff up luckily and don't have issues with stairs. I could have changed my room I guess but just a call out in advance if a consideration. I would happily stay again!
Very good , very centric.
Good location and unique.
The hotel smells like cigarettes but the streets do as well, and the WiFi is really bad, the internet doesn’t work… The hotel is really clean and comfortable, good location and the staff was friendly!
Really comfortable hotel
We booked this hotel last-minute as an overnight stay before heading to Berlin airport to fly home. A friend recommended Potsdam and we were not disappointed - though we only saw a small area, it's a lovely city and we would definitely go back. The hotel was great. Very centrally located right beside the Dutch Quarter. There was lots of choice for restaurants and bars. We chose not to use the hotel parking and instead paid for a few hours of on-street parking - the reception staff gave us directions to the best place. Breakfast was really good with lots of choice. The reception staff told us which time was busiest so we came down later and had no issues getting a table (or food!). We would definitely stay in the hotel again if we return to Potsdam.
You had to get a key to access the gym and tell them when you would be in there. When I picked up my key I was told there would be a 5 dollar charge which I tried to pay with Euros. The desk clerk said it would be billed to the room. When I got back from the gym all the money was gone from my wallet which was left on the desk. They scanned the door which showed a door key created at the desk was used to open my door while I was in the gym with all the room keys. They couldn’t explain how another key was made and someone got in my room to steal my cash at the exact time the front desk knew I was at the gym.
I love NH, breakfast is especially yummy but expensive. The only thing that didn’t give 5/5 is that there was no AC so it was pretty hot in the room with just a desk fan.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. It was in an ideal location for exploring Potsdam. They had good procedures in place to cope with Covid issues. The breakfast was very good.
Excellent location in the center of Postdam. Friendly staff. Wi-Fi was unusable and on site parking was pricey. Room was quiet and clean.
Lovely hotel in an excellent location in the heart of the Dutch Quarter but our room was a nightmare to negotiate from Reception/entrance via lift to 3rd floor, followed by a long walk to end of corridor then down a short flight of steps then around a corner and up 2 flights of steep stairs and along another corridor! I asked for another more accessible room as I have mobility problems due to slight disability but nothing was available. I should have requested a more accessible room so not really their fault but a warning for the trek involved getting across the hotel Should be in the description of hotel.
The staff was incredible!!! I cannot express my thanks enough. They were great at check in and helped me so much with things to do that day. When I came down with minor illness the next day and called a Dr n provided me with tea without me even asking. I cannot thank the staff sufficiently for how nice and concerned they were during my short stay.
The hotel was pretty good except they didn't have air conditioning for the room. At a sweltering 36 C it was really tough to sleep.
No air conditioning so very hot! The internet did not work properly. In order to complete my preparation for a big presentation the next morning I was forced to wander around and find a cafe with wifi. The area was lovely but the hotel was disappointing.
Great location in Potsdam . Wonderful room in the original section of the hotel. Great service and value !!
Quiet comfortable central location in Holland quarter, walk to all parks and castles, great for cafes and interesting cobbled streets and architecture
Hotel is conveniently located for easy bus, tram trip from Berlin airport. Very close to food and the sites. NH will be first choice on our trip back.
I don’t understand why the german people has to wash the hotel laundry with vinegar, it smells really weird. The curtains could have a wash instead, as they smell really dusty. The rest was ok. Good breakfast, garage and a very location.
The location, room and amenities were excellent. Just found the internet connection hopelessly slow, bur nor enough to put me off from staying at this hotel again.
The hotel was a good location. Wifi was terrible and no AC. The rooms were small with little airflow.
We loved the location of the property and it’s charm. Could use a little updating. Nevertheless our stay was very comfortable.
Nice location, plent of lakes around, at the outskirts of Berlin.
Our only grouch is that we paid exactly the same for NY Berlin Mitte the previous night where we had tea making facilities and a larger room.
I loved this hotel. It is so central and I walked everywhere. There are many little restaurants in the area and for shoppers, some interesting small shops. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Potsdam to stay over and to stay here. The wifi was sadly shocking.
Perfectly set back from the street. Extremely quiet and well-appointed.
I chose NH because I didn't want to take a risk a bad room. I figured a name brand is a safe bet. Wrong. 1. The lobby is not the storefront (as pictured), it's in a courtyard. 2. The storefront is the "old building" that houses the superior rooms (my choice). I got to my room and it smelled. Couldn't say exactly what - like dampness. But it would not be comfortable. Availability was slim, so I literally had to cry until they found me another free superior room. (After seeing the chipping furniture of the standard rooms, I didn't want to downgrade.) A brand name hotel should not offer smelly rooms! Housekeeping said it's because that building is old, but the reception head said it was basically my problem. It was by the grace of one good employee who comped me breakfast and who found a new room that I'm not giving them 1 stars. (I noticed other complaints on booking.com about the lack of AC and status of "old building.") 3. The "old building" is far from the lobby. It's like a maze getting there. Not comfortable when you want to hop in and out of the room to shop, eat, etc. 4. Hotel doesn't disclose in advance that cost of sauna use is 10 Euro for the duration. I didn't see a jacuzzi and steam room as advertised, either. 5. In the superior rooms at least, there is no AC system. I think that's why the rooms smell bad. There is not good ventilation. When the heating gets too strong and you want fresh air, you need to open the windows. Try other options.
Stayed here for a week during October to attend a workshop. The location is fantastically convenient, with a tram stop right outside the door, plenty of bakeries and shops on the same street, and about 10 min walk to Sanssouci Park. The hotel itself was quiet and comfortable, with very helpful English-speaking staff at the front desk (had to borrow a travel adapter and order a taxi, which arrived within a couple of minutes). The room was quite clean, except the shower floor tiles were a bit grubby.
We spent two nights here in Room 350 this is an older room that would benefit from some time spent as the door has obviously been forced open and repairs weren't going to hide that, the light didn't work and the bathroom needs a bit of work. For a superior room I was slightly disappointed. When they tell you it's up a few steps and you like me imagine 5-6 (you know enough to mention, but not so many as to be an issue) Don't!! You get to the 5-6 that take you into the older part of the hotel... Turn a corner.... And there is two spiralling old fashioned flights taking you to the third floor!!!! When you arrive after traveling it might have been nice for you to offer us help getting cases and stuff up there! But onto better things... The hotel is in a lovely central position not far from good eating and everything you want to see is a short walk away. The breakfast room staff were fabulously welcoming and the food was very, very good. You get great value for money on the breakfast so don't worry about taking advantage you won't regret it! Receptionist was really nice advising us on what to see and where to go.
Wonderful. Very nice front desk staff.
NH was a very nice hotel and the location is 10 minutes from San Souci and directly in the Dutch Quarter. Great opportunities to walk from the hotel to nice cafes, restaurants, shops and historical points of interest.
If you are going to visit in Berlin, just come to Potsdam and rest at here. The neighborhood is nicer and the service is way better.
NH hotels have always been great. Good placement. The reception staff should try to be a little bit more friendly, but this is not unusual at German hotels.
The front desk staff are very snobby and didn't care to serve. It was like they were doing us a favor to help us. Not very nice staff. The beds are as hard as sleeping on a piece of wood.
Great location for the hotel and lovely room. Breakfast was very nice, though very pricey.
Great hotel, great price. Location was perfect
Nice stay, friendly people in a nice nighbouhood opposite the Dutch Quarters. Great for walking along the lakes (like lake Havel) and the Sans Souci castle and grounds. The Ceciliënhof castle and grounds are just a few minutes away. Restoration after "der Ansluss" is showing great results since our last visit.
Buffet breakfast was good value. The cleaner was helpful and went out of her way to work round my schedule. I also liked the jugs of iced water with sliced lemons/oranges in the reception area (it was hot). It wasn't easy to understand how the room air-conditioning system worked (no temperatures on the control) and it would have been nice to have had a kettle for tea/tisanes in the room. Otherwise this was good value and my room was both clean and pleasant. A good experience.
Friendly staff who allowed me to check in over an hour early. Walking distance to everything. Great local restaurants & shops. Comfortable room, spotlessly clean. Highly recommend.
Great location for shops, restaurants and sightseeing. Very friendly staff. Very clean. Only negative is the beds are very hard.
The people at reception were very accommodating and helpful and communicated well in English. There was a mixup in our reservation when we arrived but they went out of the way to resolve it. The location is steps away from the train and many restaurants. Potsdam is a wonderful town to visit and NH Potsdam staff are welcoming go out of their way to assist guests.
I felt the parking price was too high but everything else in the hotel was fine.
Stayed at the NH Potsdam (used to be the hotel Voltaire) for one night. Perfectly located near all the attractions and restaurants. Very nice front desk staff. Did not give a 5 stars rating (but close to it) because the hotel is a bit dated and might be due for some minor upkeep. But certainly not enough for me not to go back again.
Nice hotel in a great location in Potsdam - close to Brandenburg Strasse, the Dutch neighborhood and Sanssouci Park.
Very comfortable and clean room. Nice shower. The elevator is awful and there is no optin to use stairs.
Lovely hotel just across the street from the Dutch Quarter. Very well decorated and clean. Front desk staff very helpful and spoke English. Only negative is that wi-fi signal in our second floor room was very weak. For a good signal we had to sit in the lobby siting area.
Good location, friendly staff, convenient stylish set-up of the essentials (but not more), very reasonable price
Great location and service ... breakfast was great.
Overall, the hotel was excellent. The room was big and clean; the bed was comfortable; parking was underground and very practical. The only thing that I was not happy with was the lack of a/c and the room was unbearably hot during the night. The bathtub was also the shower and an elderly person may have trouble to climb in. Location was great. Within 5 minutes you can walk to great shopping areas and a grocery store, as well as bakeries.
A last minute booking via Expedia since our previous accommodation became unavailable, and it all went smoothly. You would never get a hotel of this standard at this price in the UK!
The hotel is just a few blocks away from the main city center. Very convenient location and tucked away off a main street...so very quiet. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.
Very nice location in the center of Potsdam. My room was in the annex on the ground floor and next to a walkway, which is unusual. Room was clean and in good conditions though. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. However, the free internet is very slow (so slow that some websites won't even load) and there is no fridge in the room. The TV set is very old (old CRT) and doesn't have reception during heavy rains. But overall, very nice hotel and recommendable.
Very expensive price for the hotel really is. No air conditioning very hot room. This hotel not qualify for 4 stars.
excellent situation in town centre, but hotel is quiet and away from passing traffic because the entrance is in a courtyard set back from the road.
Centrally located, all points of interest within walking distance. Nice breakfast buffet.
Great location right in town, immaculate room and bathroom, quiet, good shower temp and pressure, large comfortable rooms and beds, pleasant and helpful front desk, free WiFi, easy parking garage. About 15-20 minute walk to Palaces, and restaurants are plentiful and around the corner. Decor is a little bland; just needs brighter carpeting probably. Restaurant and bar on property.Great value!
Clean, helpful staff and local amenities good, e.g. cafés, tobacconists etc. There is a tram stop just outside the hotel that takes you to the Potsdam Central Station - from here you get to Berlin and the main sights... Takes about 20-30 minutes depending on what you want to see! Didn't eat here but was a good base for a few days.
Generally no problems with this hotel at all and would recommend it. it is in a great location but has no wow factor. It is what it says on the tin and is therefore highly recommended.
The hotel was comfortable, although 3 adults in a room was a bit of a tight squeeze, compared to their hotel in Heidelberg which more than twice the size. The location was central to the major sites, which you could walk to, or catch a tram. These included the palaces of CeciliaHof, Sans Soucci, the Russian Colony, the Dutch Quarter and the train station. There was a tram stop just outside the hotel.
We were there only one night but were pleased. It's a bit of a walk from the main train station, but close to many of the landmarks you'd want to see. Rate was competitive and the neighborhood surrounding has everything you could want. I'd do it again.
Very good location, clean room, wi-fi in the room. Great price.
The Hotel Voltaire is very well situated in the town to visit the historic attractions. The hotel was clean and comfortable, our room was quiet and we were given coffee and tea making equipment on request. We did not have breakfast as there were several good bakeries close to the hotel. There are two supermarkets on Brandenburger Str. which sell a good range of items and were open in the evenings. We stayed for two nights in October. We arrived on Monday afternoon and most museums were closed as is common in Germany, however the New Palace is open on Monday and was shut on Tuesday. We decided to walk through the Dutch Quarter right opposite the hotel to the New Garden. This was most attractive and we easily followed a path along the lake to the Cecilienhof Palace. The Palace was closed but the hotel within the palace serves coffee and cake at a very reasonable price. It was good to eat and drink where the Potsdam Conference took place in 1945. We visited Park Sanssouci. This was an easy walk 10 minutes from the hotel. We purchased a Premium Day ticket which gave entrance to all Palaces except the New Palace as it was closed on that day. There is so much to see that it was impossible for us to visit all buildings on one day. We recommend the Orangery Palace, the New Chambers and of course Sanssouci Palace. Potsdam itself is very attractive, a good atmosphere. lots of eating places, good shops and lots to do.
Very nice hotel with great location near S & U bahn. Breakfast is great. Bar is great. Nice social spaces. There for a conference and we had a fun there.
Situated in the old town of Potsdam the hotel was walking distance to the main sites Sans Soucci Park. It was also close to the main shopping area and lots of restaurants. We only spent an afternoon and evening there but loved every minute of our stay.
We stayed one night before our intended trip. We could walk to Sans Soucci within 15 leisurely minutes. Great location. Never noticed noise, and we slept with our window cracked open. German windows can be tipped open if you turn the handle all the up (very convenient). Room was very clean. We did not buy the breakfast. Instead we walked out the front door, turned right at the street, and ate at the little bagel place on the corner. Delicious! We also ate at the Klostergarten on the same street - lovely little garden restaurant with good beer (the restaurant's own beer). If it's raining, you can eat inside.
We were able to check in early and the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was extremely clean and well put together. The location was superb as it was in the heart of Potsdam and therefore one could access all the sights by foot. Local cafes and restaurants are really close, but I definitely recommend the hotel restaurant as the food was extremely delicious (the best I had on my trip so far), well priced, and the service was great, the same goes for the breakfast too! The hotel parking was a little bit hard to find, as you have to drive through a tunnel to get to the underground parkade and lobby.
Great location to see Potsdam. Hotel staff very helpful and pleasant. Rooms do need aircon or ceiling fans. We had to ask for a fan as it was very hot.
Got in very late and the staff opened the kitchen and prepared dinner for us. Superb staff, excellent location to explore greater Berlin.
