Casa Mariolas

The cleanliness, the view to the mountains, the amazing breakfast, the silence and privacy, and, above all, the host Daniela, always helpful and careful. The room is exactly how advertised, perfect for a weekend of exploration in Serra da Estrela. The house is quite well located if you value the view and the silence of the place.

Only slight downside is the double bed being two singles. But it didn’t have an impact on my sleep.

We loved the feeling of being guests in Daniela and Paulo's home. We loved our conversations each morning about climbing, Serra Estrela history and suggestions for our daily activities. Breakfast was prepared beautifully each day, including homemade products.

Not about the guesthouse, but there is no public transportation in this very hilly village. We solved the problem by engaging a great local taxi service when we needed one. (Carla Maria Fonseca ❤️ (Táxis)

A casa e as condições são muito boas. A decoração, a limpeza, a atenção e o cuidado com os pormenores é impecável. Parecia que estavamos em casa. Não posso deixar de referir que a Daniela, anfitriã, foi absolutamente extraordinária em tudo, incluindo em ajudar-nos a explorar a área, dando-nos sugestões, dicas, mapas e até alternativas quando a meteorologia não esteve a nosso favor.

O pequeno almoço muito variado com produtos caseiros e regionais , superou muito as nossas expetativas , o quarto espaçoso e com uma varanda com uma vista linda para a serra ,a cama muito confortavel e limpeza impecavel , achei muito intressante a exposição sobre escalada e montanhismo que esta na entrada do alojamento e por ultimo a Daniela é muito simpatica dando imformações de sitios onde visitar e onde poderiamos comer . O alojamento é perfeito para passar uns dias a explorar a zona da Serra da Estrela. A Daniela é muito simpática com os hóspedes, dando-nos dicas dos sítios onde podemos ir passear. O pequeno almoço também é muito bom, com produtos regionais.

A minha estadia na Casa Mariolas excedeu todas as expectativas. O alojamento é extremamente confortável, muito limpo e cheio de pequenos detalhes que fazem toda a diferença. Senti-me em casa desde o primeiro minuto. Os anfitriões, e em espacial a Daniela, foram simplesmente maravilhosos: simpáticos, atenciosos e sempre disponíveis para ajudar. Fiquei extremamente contente, satisfeito e feliz com a forma calorosa como fomos recebidos. Nota-se o cuidado e dedicação que colocam em tudo o que fazem. Recomendo sem qualquer dúvida. Uma experiência perfeita, voltarei certamente!

Location of the hotel is excellent. A short walk to the centre of Manteigas. Daniela was extremely helpful and helped us plan out our itinerary.

LA PROPIETARIA ES ENCANTADORA, TE OFRECE TODA LA AYUDA QUE SE TE PUEDA OCURRIR. EL TRATO ES FAMILIAR Y EXCALENTE; SE DESVIVE POR QUE TENGAS UNA ESTANCIA AGRADABLE. HASTA AYUDA Y TE PREPARA LA PLANIFICACIÓN DE LAS VISITA Y RECORRIDOS MÁS INTERESANTES SEGÚN TUS INTERESES.

Ontbijt was werkelijk super! Het beste ontbijt in Portugal. Kamer was helemaal goed met airco zodat je na een dag wandelen lekker kan slapen. Daniela heeft ons uitstekend geholpen met allerlei suggesties en tips.

Fabulous hosts, great communication. Very informative and helpful. Gave us lots of insight into the local area & places to visit. We were travelling by motorcycle & they let us park in the garage which was very reassuring. Fabulous breakfast & interesting chat. Cannot fault the experience.

Our stay was great. Daniela and her spouse did everything possible so that our stay was super comfy: in Serra, February can be quite cold, so Daniela warmed up our room for us. The mattress was very comfortable, and the bathroom spotless. Breakfast was extremely diverse and with regional and homemade products - a great way to display the gastronomic richness of the region. Daniela also provided us with a list of places to eat and the resources about what to do in the natural park available in Casa Mariolas were really helpful. We loved our stay!

Great view from room; excellent interaction with owner who was extremely knowledgeable about the area. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was full and delicious made with care with products from the region.

Shared refrigeration for food and ice would have been nice.

Kind, helpful and instructive host. Daniela have informed us preciously about daily trips and hiking routes. Balkony and terrace are nice.

The property had a beautiful backyard where my sister spent her day. The rest of us spent the day going on a hike/walk. The hiking trail was very quiet. Daniela is a wonderful hostess. She gave us suggestions for hikes, meals and places to visit on our way back to Coimbra. The breakfast was very good.

Daniela and Paulo‘s very helpful advice for hiking, their unvaluable help to get a flat tire fixed by a professionnal on an easter sunday, the view from the bedroom, the breakfast (killer homemade jams!)

Our stay in Casa Mariolas was perfect. Daniela is super-host, she cared for our comfortable stay and recommended us great trekkings (astonishing mountains!). Breakfast was regional. In the room we had big, comfortable bed. Very nice common space inside and outside and interesting gallery. Perfectly located near hiking trails but in the town, near the shop and restaurants.

One little disadvantage was size of the room and small wardrobe.

The view from the room and terrace was exceptional! House is placed on the hill so you can see all the valley (very beautiful), not the neighbor buildings. Owners were very nice, they gave a lot of advises and instructions where to go and what to do. The breakfast was prefect, a lot of various dishes, local cheeses and jams. There is also a museum in the hotel on mountaineering topic. We definitely recommend this place and have the plans to come back again.

A lovely B&B in Manteigas, in the middle of the amazing Serra da Estrela, managed by two fantastic hosts. Daniela and Paulo love what they are doing and gave us a lot of useful information and tips on the places to visit and the trails to follow during our stay. The room was just perfect, with a stunning view on the mountains and a delicious homemade breakfast that gave us a perfect start of the day. Casa Mariolas is definitely worth the visit! We look forward to visit them again very soon.

We spent 3 wonderful days at Casa Mariolas and Manteigas! Perfect mountain view from our balcony, a lovely served breakfast with super delicious sheep cheese, homemade marmelade, fresh orange juice and much more. Daniela and her husband gave us great advice and hiking recommendations as well special places to go and eat. We loved it! We will return definetely when comming back to beautiful Sierra de Estrela.

Very nice accommodation. Superb views on the surrounding mountains. Very good breakfast. Absolutely great host! Daily, we were provided with great tips for trips in the region! We very much enjoyed our stay in Manteigas, and Serra de Estrella! Such a beautiful area, great people. Hope to come back one day

Casa Mariolas, located on the sunny hills surrounding Manteigas, exceed our expectations. Everything in the guesthouse: from stunning views when you wake up, to good functional breakfast with a great selection of local cheese and breads, to the warm hospitality of the hosts, Daniela and Paul, to an excellent location and overall Casa's vibe and design is well thought-through. Staying at Casa Mareolas would present you with an authentic way of spending your mountain vocation and provide relaxation after exploring the beautiful park of Serra Estrela. I highly recommend staying with Daniela and Paul for a few days, soaking in the clean mountain air, walking in nature and around a wonderful Manteigas. Make sure to ask for hiking recommendations! Daniela and Paul are real mountaineers and know quick a bit about this area (and the Himalayas!).
