Casa Porta Nova AL

Absolutely fantastic location with a lovely terrace and view. Our warm host Anthony patiently waited for us to arrive and met us onsite to show us around and give us lots of tips. The apartment is beautiful with ample room, wish we could have stayed a few days longer!

More of a hint...there are lots and lots of stairs, this would be a challenge for folks with mobility issues especially because there is not a bathroom on the main floor. We managed well, so this is not a complaint, but I was a bit surprised by how many stairs there were to climb. The public paid parking is nearby, but again, the walk with luggage was a slight challenge for one member of our party and, given the location in the old part of town, I was not comfortable driving to the property on narrow streets for drop off at the front door. If you are young(ish), able, or comfortable driving on narrow Portuguese streets, this will not be an issue at all.

El alojamiento está muy bien situado, en el centro histórico de la ciudad. La casa está muy cuidada y tiene todas las comodidades. Anthony es un anfitrión estupendo. Muy recomendable

We had the loveliest stay at Casa Porta Nova Al! It is such a lovely apartment and conveniently located within walking distance of almost everything! Anthony was very accommodating and provided wonderful suggestions. I loved reading on the deck while listening to live music drifting through the streets. This place is just magical!

We usually find ourselves having to compromise on something when booking an accommodation: Want a perfect location? Then parking will be expensive and budget will need to increase. Want a spacious place for the whole family? Then will have to stay outside of our target location. Want a place with 2 (two) bathrooms for our family? Well, it's almost impossible to find! Well, we didn't have to compromise on anything with Casa Porta Nova AL! Perfect location, spacious adorable place with modern amenities (and 2 bathrooms!!), reasonable parking garage option(s), wonderful host who was always quick to respond (even when we had a late evening emergency).

La casa preciosa, muy cuidada, y con todo lo necesario para el día a día. Es tal y como se ve en las fotografías. La ubicación inmejorable para moverte andando por todo Guimaraes. La atención de Anthony ha sido maravillosa, pendiente de cada detalle. Nos dio muy buenas recomendaciones sobre dónde aparcar los coches, y hasta nos encontramos un detalle de bienvenida. Alojarnos aquí ha sido todo un acierto. .

Es una casa muy bonita en el centro histórico de Guimeraes. Su anfitrión Anthony es una persona encantadora, servicial, amable y dispuesto para ayudar y facilitar en todo momento nuestra estancia.

La casa en general está muy bien, limpia y bien equipada

Para acceder al salón hay que subir dos pisos y no hay baño en esa planta, hay que subir al 4° para un baño

It is stylish, beautiful and well equipped. Anthony is an amazing host, quick to respond and very caring/friendly. I needed a blowout of my hair, and it turned out his wife is a stylist next door! Cinderela is the salon, Sofia did a great job. Wonderful people, wonderful space.

We found the beds too firm for us. Did not sleep well. But that is a preference, others may love a firm bed

Anthony is a super star. Assisted us with our luggage and is a very kind and humble person. Facilities, rooms and location exceeded our expectations. Home away from home.

There is nothing which we can say we did not like. We loved it all

What a warm welcome. Obrigada, Anthony and Sofia. The old city is beautiful and the same counts for Casa Porta Nova AL, which is part of it. The Casa has all modern comfort at your disposal. Of course we visited Penha, walked around Guimarães and had an icecream at one of the many little square. We just slowed down and enjoyed the vibe of the house and the city. Loved it!!

Muito central, perto de tudo. Tudo muito limpo, tínhamos café, água e uma garrafa de vinho ..foi um boa surpresa. Foi flexível na hora do check-in e check-out apesar de nós não precisarmos. Tinha guarda-chuvas para os hospedes, deu muito jeito. Um alojamento a repetir.

Não tenho nada negativo a apontar. Como melhoria poderia colocar mais um pano na cozinha.

La casa es una pasada, tiene 4 pisos para disfrutar de ella, ya que las habitaciones están en las ultimas plantas. La ubicación es perfecta, en el centro histórico, muy cerca para ver la ciudad, el parking, un gran acierto que nos recomendó Anthony. La casa tiene de todo para pasar unos días. Anthony es súper majo, nos explicó todo lo que tenía la casa y nos dejó folletos y lugares donde ir, nos aconsejo donde comer y que ver. Muchas gracias 😊

Todo súper limpio el anfitrión súper amable nos explicó todo fenomenal nos dejó un dossier con todas las recomendaciones muy amplio y cerquita de todo del centro de Guimaraes que es precioso

Para nosotros no era un problema, pero había muchas escaleras normal al ser una casa del centro histórico

Nos gustó todo, la casa está en un sitio inmejorable, las estancias muy acogedoras y por supuesto todo muy limpio e impecable

Apartament en 3 plantes, habitacions i espais compartits amplis amb disseny molt confortable. Molt ben equipat. Antony súper atent. Emplaçament insuperable al centre de Guimaraes. Ideal grup de 5-6 persones

L’hôte Anthony était très disponible, serviable et réactif, c’était un vrai plaisir. La maison est bien équipée et très confortable. La localisation est parfaite, en plein centre historique!

Anthony was extremely helpful. Even came to our car to help us navigate to the address then guided us to free parking. If that wasn't enough, he carried our bags up many stairs for us. A bottle of red wine was gifted to us. A lovely gesture. The apartment was tasteful, modern and everything was well thought out.

The only negative were the three flights of stairs. This is normal in Europe and I will need to pack less in future!

Wonderful location. Right next to the beautiful centre with restaurants and bars within 100 metres. 3 comfortable bedrooms, good kitchen and a very nice patio with tables and chairs. The host, Anthony kept in touch ready to offer advice and was extremely friendly.

Very little to complain about, we were a party of 6 adults and another settee in the lounge would have been good. As I say a really good property.

Very nice brand new apartment right in the city center. Very good beds, everything new and modern. Around the corner a lot of nice bars and restaurants.

Anthony, the owner, was very nice, helpful and accommodating. The house was situated right in the city center. It was safe and clean. And the owner provided complimentary wine and coffee. Everything was modern and clean. Showers were hot. AC was cold. The views were so beautiful. Check in was easy.

Bed pillows could be more comfortable.

Anthony, our host met us upon arrival. Provided an thoroughly explanation of the apartment and provide useful information concerning Guimarães proper. Location centrally located but private, a single building apartment.

It has 3 flights of stairs, it was difficult for us to navigate, but would be for less active adults

The flat is lovely and is ideally located in the old part of town. Anthony the host met us outside the flat and he was really welcoming and helpful. He communicated regularly even before we got to Guimaraes. The town is gorgeous and you're a two minute walk from some beautiful squares, with good bars and restaurants.

Nothing. Best place we stayed in our two week tour of Portugal.

The property is the whole townhouse with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, kitchen, living room nd a seating area outside. We were met by the host, Anthony, who handed us the keys. However, just in case we would not be able to meet, there were very clear and easy to follow instructions sent to us a few days in advance that we would have been able to follow. This place is located in the middle of the historical part of Guimaraes, with its cobblestone streets and the whole "mideaval" atmosphere. Anthony was very helpful with instructions where to park our car and recommendations on what to see and where to eat. (Our itinerary was full already,but we followed his recommendations for dinner one night and were not disappointed!)

Can't say anything negative about our stay. Everything met and exceeded our expectations!

Perfect hosts. Anthony was very helpful with directing us when we were lost. The property was bright , well furnished and very homely and in a ideal location. We hope to visit again in the near future.
