Hacienda Cafetera La Gaviota

Las explicaciones de historia que nos deleitó Jorge, así como las clases para preparar café de varias formas diferentes. Carolina nos explicó muy bien el proceso de cultivado de café.

Carolina y Jorge son gente excepcional, muy atentos. Nos prepararon las comidas durante la estancia, todo con productos cultivados por ellos mismos, todo super bueno. Nos hicieron un tour por la finca muy interesante.

Sentimos la estadía en la finca La Gaviota como estar en casa, en un ambiente lleno de calidez y un trato amoroso. Además fue maravilloso sentir la calma y la tranquilidad que brinda la naturaleza, con su aire puro, los cantos de los pájaros al amanecer y un paisaje lleno de ensueño. Y por último, pero no menos importante, la comida fue deliciosa, caserita y hecha con amor.

Great welcome from Hacienda owners Carolina and Jorge. La Gaviota is in beautifully tranquil surroundings and we had an excellent coffee tour.

The hosts were wonderful people who were very helpful. We had a great tour of the farm and drank loads of fantastic coffee. It is very quiet, peaceful and very dark at night. They have starlink internet so it's very reliable. We wanted somewhere off the beaten path to unwind and this place was perfect.

One of the most beautiful places I've stayed in Colombia. The farm is wonderful and the hosts are great. I got a private coffee tour and a coffee tasting, both amazing.

Tout est super dans cette petite ferme de café. Tout est tranquille et hors-du-temps. On s’y sent bien, comme à la maison. C’est difficile de partir ! Les propriétaires sont passionnés, intéressants et sympathiques. J’étais venu il y a 9 ans,seulement pour un tour de café, quand j’ai vu que depuis ils avaient ouvert des chambres pour une véritable excursion dans la hacienda, je n’ai pas hésité. Je vous recommande cet endroit familial.

Zalige ligging in een rustig domein van 10 ha met koffieplantage en vele andere gewassen waar je volledig tot rust komt. De eigenaars zijn echt super, koken wat je wil en wanneer je wil , proberen alles om het naar je zin te maken en hadden zelfs mijn busticket voor mij in de stad gekocht. Ook de koffietour was fantastisch.

This is just a paradise! We had 2 great days at the Hacienda. The hoasts are super nice, speak English (our Spanish wouldn't have been good enough to understand all the interesting coffee facts ;)) and we loved the coffee tour and tasting we did. The rest of the day's we spend with walking around the farm or just relaxing at the terrace and reading books. The perfect place for a 'coffee break' in paradise.

Aunque estuvimos poco tiempo, nos encantó poder disfrutar de la Hacienda Cafetera La Gaviota. Hospedarte aquí te hace conocer más la zona y disfrutarla viviendo una experiencia mucho más bonita. Jorge y Carolina son unas personas fantásticas que te hacen sentir como en casa al igual que te hacen conocer su cultura y manera de vivir. Si estás por la zona, no puedes perderte hospedarte por aquí.

Carolina y Jorge nos han tratado como uno más en su casa.nos reciben con café, nos prepararon una comida espectacular y la cata con la visita a la finca han sido inmejorables La finca está en un enclave único, recomendamos pasear en el atardecer y tomar algo en la terraza.

La Gaviota is een kleinschalig verblijf waardoor het heel persoonlijk is. De natuur eromheen is prachtig, je komt echt tot rust. Caroline en haar man passen zich aan aan de wensen van de gasten en een koffie tour en proeverij/workshop is inclusief bij het verblijf. Een hele bijzondere ervaring!

El trato que recibimos desde el primer momento de nuestra llegada de Jorge y Carolina. Aprendimos muchísimas cosas de la producción del café y no pudimos elegir mejor lugar.

Excellently located in the middle of their own coffee farm.

Great place to relax, the owners are very helpful and flexible. They provide also delicious lunch and dinner at very reasonable prices. There is a small Shop in walking distance to the property. Beautiful landscape, birds and hummingbirds around the place. Jorge and Carolina are true professionals with a huge knowledge and you can ask them anything related to the Coffee traditions.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming hacienda, and it was truly a wonderful experience. Jorge and Carolina, the hosts, are nothing short of fantastic. Their warm hospitality and genuine passion for their region made our stay truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, Jorge and Carolina went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and comfortable. They not only provided excellent service but also took the time to share their deep knowledge and love for the local region. Their insights into the area's culture and the coffee they grow added an extra layer of authenticity to our stay. One highlight of our stay was the opportunity to learn about the coffee cultivation process directly from Jorge and Carolina. A really amazing place for anyone looking for a more authentic stay in Colombia's coffee region. Carolina and Jorge were very nice and welcoming and the place was perfect for what we were looking for. Really good, traditional breakfast every day, beautiful view from the window of our place and lots of peace and quiet. Jorge and Carolina also did a tour of the coffee plantation with a coffee tasting session that was really enjoyable. Hope to stay here again!

Can't think of anything

An historic, rustic, coffee finca at the end of the road with great views. The personal touches and friendliness of the owners. The complimentary tour of the finca and coffee making process. Being able to wander around the farm past the growing coffee, avocado, platanos, papaya, citrus etc. Enjoying a cold beer with an evening meal prepared by Carolina whilst relaxing in the communal space at the finca. Being entertained by the antics of the 3 friendly dogs - Frost, Niña and Milagros!

The finca is in the middle of very lush countryside, and so it's definitely worth bringing a mosquito net, repellent or similar if you hate the beasties as much as we do! As other reviews have stated, it's worth planning your route to the finca in advance. Only the last few km involve gravel roads, but that part is a little slow and bumpy.

I stayed in Carolina and Jorge’s home, and I was treated like a guest of the family.

Breakfast was perfect. The coffee is amazing. Our family had a very relaxing stay for a few days. We enjoyed learning about the history of coffee and different ways to brew it. The hosts Carolina and Jorje were so kind and welcoming. The pets were cute and it was nice to have cats to pet.

WOW. The time that i spent at the finca was definitely the most memorable experience I had during my entire trip to Colombia. First of all this is not a hotel, this is Jorge and his beautiful wife's house. You share a day in their lives and experience the real coffee farm life with them and they definitely go out of their way to make u feel welcome and comfortable. There are only 3 rooms in the house so if you are lucky enough to find an available room, don't hesitate and book it! The finca is surrounded by coffee trees. The price you pay includes a traditional breakfast, a coffee farm tour as well as a real Barista class where you get to make coffee with 5 different tools and have a tasting afterwards with Jorge. There are plenty of nice hikes aronud the house as well and absolutely no other tourists around. They were very kind to prepare a traditional lunch and give me a ride back to chinchina too. If you are after a real coffee experience and no touristy stuff, i recommend you choose to stay with them and witness a day in their life.

It can be a little tricky to get there (especially at night) so make sure you plan your commute in advance and wisely. (No public transport to Chinchina from Pereira from 6pm)

This place is paradise! Carolina and Jorge welcomed me like family and made me feel completely at home there. You can feel how excited they are about their place and coffee also during the tour, which they arrange for whenever is good for you! Same goes for all meals by the way, which were delicious too. If you look for a refreshing break in your trip, do come here for a few days! Muchas gracias por todo :)

Leaving!!! This just as an advice: Be careful when driving there after dark, the road is a bit tricky
