Maui Coast Hotel

Begrüßung, Freundlichkeit, gratis Eis am Nachmittag am Pool, Sauberkeit und Modernität der Zimmer (wir waren im Kai Gebäude). Sogar 4 Sterne wert und nicht nur 3! Wir waren auch in anderen Hotels, wie dem Hana 5* Resort oder in einem 4* Hotel auf Oahu. Der Zustand der Zimmer im Maui Coast war um Welten besser. Wir hatten noch nie ein so ein tolles 3* Hotel und waren sehr positiv überrascht!

Die Lage inmitten von Kihei sind eine gute Ausgangslage für die diversen Strände im Süden und den Makena State Park. Ebenso zum Shopping und der Gastronomie oder der Strandpromenade, entweder zu Fuß (20 min.) oder per Shuttle, ist die Lage optimal. Die moderne Ausstattung im Kai Tower (renoviert!) ist sehr komfortabel. Alles in allem war es sehr gut. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wenn man etwas aussetzen möchte, dann könnten die Pools für die Größe und den Komfort der Anlage etwas größer/ tiefer zum Schwimmen sein. Für entspanntes Chillen sind die Pools top.

Die Strandnähe und der Shuttleservice

Alles :-) 1. Zimmer (wir waren im neueren Teil): sehr schön, extrem sauber. Wir hatten zu dritt ein Zimmer mit 2 Doppelbetten, Poolblick. Die Fenster sind sehr gut und auch schalldicht, sodass man - wenn es am Pool mal etwas lauter plätschert - es trotzdem leise hat. Sehr viel Ablagefläche, große Kästen, Kaffeemaschine, Kűhlschrank. Badezimmer auch sehr geräumig. 2. Lage: direkt in Kihei, Parkplätze fürs Mietauto genug vorhanden (zahlt man extra). Zum Meer und extrem schönen Strand nur 200 m die Strasse entlang und überqueren. 3. Poollandschaft: mehrere Pools, verschiedene Temperaturen, auch heiße Whirlpools. Man konnte immer Liegen finden. Man kann jederzeit frische Badetücher holen. 4. Und das Beste sind die Trinkbrunnen! Man erhält eine wiederbefüllbare Aluflasche, die man a den Brunnen auffüllen kann. Das erspart einem das sonst in anderen Urlaubsländern nervige ständige Wassereinkaufen und reduziert den Plastikmüll. Leitungswasser haben wir zum Zähneputzen verwendet, trinken sollte man es aber nicht.

Es war alles super, gibt nichts auszusetzen.

Everyone was great at the facility. The free 3 mile shuttle and drivers were awesome. The family loved it. Will come back again.

Book your stay at Maui Coast Hotel — we have zero complaints. Check-in was quick, the staff was friendly, bell service was fast, and the room was spotless with tons of storage. The balcony and pool were perfect. The location is fantastic — walkable if you want to stay local, and central if you’d rather drive. They also run a shuttle covering a 3-mile radius. One nice touch we hadn’t seen elsewhere: QR codes for tipping. In a mostly cashless world, it made it easy to show appreciation to the hardworking staff. We only stayed one night because we were meeting our extended family at an Airbnb. I spent the whole time wishing we hadn’t left.

Thje location was perfect. It was close to beaches, shopping, restaurants.

Had a great stay here and truly do appreciate all the employees for making it a nice stay for my family and I. Everyone i had encountered was nice and friendly and was good at their job. Our check in went smoothly and we were greeted with warmth and comfort. It was very much appreciated along with their amazing cold lavender hand towels they give you.that was a huge bonus for me :) little mix up with our room but the front desk and manager defintely did what they had to do to make things good for my family and I. The pool was amazing and we had a great time overall. we will defintely be back to stay here again soon. Thank you Maui coast for making my family and I feel so welcomed.

The restaurant on your property, Miso Phat, lacked in service

The pool area was amazing. I could spend the whole day there. The live music in the evening was lovely. The location being close to the beach and so many food and shopping spots was great. The rooms were clean, the studio was spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. My room was very quiet in the back of Hoku Tower. The bicycles were a great touch. The gym was great, had more equipment than other hotel gyms I've been to before. The staff was welcoming and helpful in addressing any questions we had.

The price was a bit high and it was hard to see the sunset because it wasn't right on the beach.

This place has thought of everything! We stayed 3 nights in the Kai Tower ( and an extra night in the older part of the hotel due to a flight cancellation. ). The Kai tower is most definitely the more modern, luxury space. However, the additional night we stayed in the other part was clean, comfortable and standard. Upon arrival, you’re given a tote bag and refillable water bottles, there are bikes to use, a free shuttle, live music each night, great pool atmosphere, complimentary laundry facilities, Kīhei cafe onsite. Additionally if you have a late flight you can still use the pool and the hospitality room while they store your luggage. We stayed as part of a Costco package so all the fees were included. But otherwise there is a parking fee.

Very centrally located around stores and restaurants. Nice pool, very welcoming staff from the minute you drive up. Clean, has water stations, and complimentary laundry facilities.

Nothing, everything was great

Stayed at Maui Coast for 5 nights and we loved it. The hotel is central to many restaurants, shops and beaches. The room was spacious and the house keeping was great. We loved both restaurants on site, Kihei Cafe and Miso Phat. We also enjoyed the live music every night by the bar and pool. We would definitely stay here if we ever visit Maui again!

Very clean, best view to the ocean and hills, perfect location ( we could walk for 5 minutes or less to reach the beach and about 10 minutes walk to the shopping center. Nice restaurant inside the hotel. Our first experience in the Hawaii was fabulous in Maui Coast Hotel.

There was nothing that we didn’t like about the property. Everything we’ve seen was perfect and very nice views.

Location is right next to the beach, the pool area was lovely, lots of parking, free laundry self-service which was amazing. The bed was really big and comfortable. Location was good if you have a car - main centre and shopping 10 mins away with good restaurants. If you don't have a car there's nothing to do nearby.

Food at the restaurant onsite wasn't great. Our room was at the back of the hotel so it was very dark. The air con was very loud and we had to sleep with ear plugs. Rooms and bathroom could use an update. A car is definitely needed for the area.

Wonderful hotel! Pool area was excellent and live music every night was so chill and enjoyable! Great food from the pool bar/kihea grill. Staff was friendly and helpful. Appreciated the hospitality room since our departure flight didn’t leave until 11pm.

We loved this place. Such a great value. The room was clean and modern and they have live music every night. The happy hour and pools were great. They also have bikes you can take into town or walk if you prefer. Another perk is the shuttle that will take you within 3 miles. Totally recommend!

Squeezing in a short shoulder season spring vacation to Maui, we booked a Kai Ocean-View Room - Two Queen Beds at the Maui Coast Hotel for 5 nights through Costco Travel. This hotel has many high-rating reviews on Costco Travel and TripAdvisor. The location in Kihei seemed the most central for island exploration as well as offering easy beach access. HIGHLIGHTS - The Kai Tower at the Maui Coast Hotel was opened in 2024 and overall still feels quite new. - Spacious room listed at 388 square feet. The lanai was also quite roomy. - Free and conveniently close parking (included in Costco Travel package). And spaces were available throughout our stay. - Slept great. Super comfortable beds and bedding. Mattress had a plush topper. Supportive Lynova Soft Standard Textile pillows. Cool Centium Satin Standard Textile bed linen. - Free WiFi with very good SpeedTest results of 46.1 Mbps Download and 46.7 Mbps Upload. Connection was always stable. Note that the SSID is not password-protected. - Fantastic location. Easily walkable to Kamaole Beach Park I, II and III. Also close to shopping (Foodland and ABC) and food outlets - our favorite is Gus the Bus for shave ice which we enjoyed at the beach. MORE GOOD THINGS - Live Music every evening near the pool. - On-property eateries including Kihei Caffe and Miso Phat. We enjoyed a breakfast at the Kihei Caffe. - The complimentary hotel shuttle is a cute Volkswagen ID. Buzz. - The bathroom was spacious. Appreciate the ample space on the sink countertop. Bathroom amenities included Grey+Finch Crisp Air shampoo, conditioner, hand + body wash, and body lotion; the fragrance was pleasantly soothing. Towels were Lynova Standard Textile 100% cotton and quite plush. - Very clear 60” LG Hospitality-class SmartTelevision. I am guessing it was 4K. 142 channels. We used the built-in Netflix app without any issue. Unfortunately, it does not articulate and is only watchable from the bed. - The property in general was kept very clean. We noticed service staff diligently maintaining indoor and outdoor areas. - Two complimentary good quality water bottles. There were water refilling stations in the building lobbies. Also given a tote bag large enough for carrying beach stuff. - There was a Keurig coffee machine and Kaui Coffee pods. I enjoyed this tasty coffee. No tea bags though. One of the mugs had stains. - Getting beach towels from the pool-side kiosk was easy. The staff there were friendly. - AC worked well and temperature control was easy. However, the AC unit makes a soft rumbling sound when running. Around 54dB which is gentle, but not a soothing white noise. - There was a room safe which itself worked well, but the drawer it was in would extend too far. - Pretty comfortable cushioned bench seat and armchair with a small table. - Lots of electrical and USB-A/USB-C outlets. - Liked that the Conair Cord-Keeper 1875 hair dryer had ionic feature. HMMMM... - Our room had some insects including gnats and small beetles. - Our room had a partial ocean view, and not an ocean view. Just set your expectations accordingly. I had noted “Would appreciate best available view and high floor.” with my reservation. Disappointed with 4th floor assignment (lowest floor of our room category). I had even offered to switch rooms the next day; the front desk did not communicate availability the next day. - Our shower enclosure had an issue where the shower door swung into the shower area and could not close properly. Turns out it was on the wrong side of the vertical gasket. It got fixed by a housekeeping staff after a few days. - No spa slippers or robe provided. Quite disappointing as the floors sometimes were slippery. - No hotel pen or notepad. - I called one day after I made my reservation to enquire about the early check-in process. Front desk staff advised calling back one or two days before arrival after I receive a message from the hotel about pre-check-in. I received the pre-check-in message then called back two days before arrival and spoke with a reservations staff. I understood a note was attached to my reservation for early check-in and I was advised that hotel staff would message me at 11 am on the day of arrival whether early check-in was available. I did not receive any message. I messaged the hotel at 11:49 am to enquire about the status of our early check-in request then got back an unhelpful reply that “...check-in is at 4:00pm, but we do offer Early Check-in for a $40 fee...” The hotel website states “We will do our best to accommodate early or late requests as availabilities allow.” and nowhere mentions a $40 fee. Quite an unpleasant first impression. - With the lack of early check-in communication, we arrived at the hotel at 3:30 pm. We received cool face towels at the front desk which is an appreciated touch...but then we were told that our room was not available and we would have to wait until 4:00 pm. This was very mysterious as we had requested early check-in a week ahead. Quite oddly, we were allowed to check in at exactly 4:00 pm. - Housekeeping service was very disappointing. Housekeeping staff came at about 3:30 pm on the second day of our stay which was very inconvenient for us. We were told to inform the front desk that we wanted earlier housekeeping service. We requested 11:00 am housekeeping service, and it was performed at about that time the next day. However, for the other days, housekeeping came at 2:30 pm and 1:30 pm - at which times we were told we had to vacate the room. This was highly inconvenient. Note too that there was a different housekeeping staff each day which made it impossible to have preferences and needs remembered. THE PROMISE - The hotel website states “...experience Hawai’i’s culture and true aloha spirit at the luxury Maui Coast Hotel.” In our view, this was an unfulfilled promise. - While we found many highlights staying at the Maui Coast Hotel (thus the 4-star rating), we cannot recommend it as a relaxing guest-friendly accommodation. The front desk and housekeeping staff seem to have limited hospitality empowerment, and there was an unwelcoming coldness that led to several key unmet expectations. Fortunately, we found Hawaiian aloha at all the beaches, shops and restaurants that we visited on Maui. - While some of the comments may be just my personal preferences, I hope hotel leadership sees some compelling opportunities for improvement.

What an amazing property and location. Fresh, clean, bright with just the right touch of luxury to feel special, this property is really special. I prefer to engage in people and place when I travel and this property allowed for that (walkable in many cases) while also providing the comfort and amenities found at larger, more distant resorts. The Staff are super friendly and the amenities keep event the most nuanced need within reach. I felt included in the community of Kihei rather than a passing observer.

This hotel had an exceptional staff, particularly the housekeeping staff. They were always friendly yet professional and good at their job. We were upgraded to a top floor suite which we really appreciated. The hotel itself was just as nice as the photos online. We liked the two restaurants on site and the easy walk to the beach across the street. We saw sunsets on that beach and they were spectacular. This is a clean, quiet and friendly hotel.

We stayed in a Hoku King room which is the older building. Our view was of the parking lot, but we didn’t spend a lot of time in the room anyways so it was fine. The hotel pool was nice and there was always chairs available when we went. The hotel gym was surprisingly large for a hotel gym. I had no issues working out early in the morning but don’t try around 8:30am as it was completely packed and I had no where to work out. Luckily, the streets are safe so i could go for a run. The breakfast restaurant was great and we ended up eating there 3 times. Highly recommend!

קבלת פנים צוננת ממי שקיבלה אותנו ואנחנו נמנעים מלהזכיר את שמה כדי לא לפגוע. לא קיבלנו שום מידע שהיה ראוי שנקבל כמו למשל שהמלון מספק שאטל חינמי לאזורים בסביבה ואת זה גילינו דרך נהג האובר שנסענו איתו הפקידה ביקשה דרכונים,גבתה את התשלום ונתנה לנו מפתח וזה הכל. לא נידבה שום אינפורמציה!. בנוסף כשהגענו לחדר מסתבר שהחדרניתמרק התחילה לנקות אותו. בהמשך קיבלנו שירות מצויין משאר הצוות במלון

Excellent second stay at this hotel for part of our babymoon. We stayed in the renovated wing had an ocean review room. The room was very clean as were the pool area grounds. The location is great in Kihei and they have some great restaurants on site for breakfast (Kihei Cafe) or dinner (Miso Phat), with also many other options in the area. Directly across from the beach and also has a great free shuttle service to take you to restaurants/points of interest in the area. Would return.

Friendly helpful reception desk staff, nice touches at the hotel like the wristbands, refillable water bottles, nice pool and jacuzzis and lovely breakfast cafe and beach across the road, shame about the weather while we were there. The room felt a little claustrophobic for us as a family of 4, ground floor room so was a view of car park, and sofa bed which was comfortable enough but I’d choose a bigger room if you are family of 4.

The Maui coast was a fantastic stay. The staff were great, the amenities were great, and everything was clean and new. Great location, too. We can’t wait to come back!

Bel hôtel mais peu de charme (idem pour les chambres). Son emplacement est bien mais si vous avez une voiture, il n’est pas nécessaire d’être si bien placés. Nous avons apprécié le micro-ondes, machine à café/thé et le frigo dans la chambre. Les fleurs à dispo dans le hall :). La piscine ouverte jusque tard (mais les enfants n’ont pas le droit de sauter…).

Dommage qu’il n’y ait pas de service de petit déjeuner à part faire la queue au café Kihei. Les membres du personnel ne sont pas tous aimables. Le prix du parking est excessif (et le stationnement est gratuit dans une rue perpendiculaire). Notre chambre était petite et peu moderne pour le prix. Le lit des enfants n’étaient pas fait, aucun draps… à 22h.

Nothing bad to say!

This was our first stay at Maui coast hotel and we will definitely stay again. We stayed in the hoku tower. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. You got some cold lavender infused face towels at check in to refresh with. Our room was clean and fresh. The bed was very comfortable. Having live music at the pool every night was great. There is a washer and dryer for guests to use at no cost, that is a nice amenity. We didn’t get a chance to use the bikes, hopefully next time. The location is great, so many options within walking distance for food, shopping, beaches. They also have Tommy bahama beach chairs and umbrellas to use and offer beach towels. The wristband waterproof room keys made it so easy to keep track of (no digging in my bag to find the room key) . I feel they offer some great amenities and wonderful customer service.

This hotel was extremely mediocre, and the service made it worse. The one time we allowed housekeeping into the room, they threw away my shower cap even though it was clearly hanging up to dry. When I called to request a replacement, I was told they only had the standard caps provided in the rooms, which are far too small for long hair and completely unusable for me. Because of this, we ended up missing an excursion. It was a frustrating and avoidable situation caused by careless housekeeping and not made any better by the front desk. Absolute trash experience and will not be back

What an awesome place to stay! Family of four in one room -spacious with plenty of room! We loved everything about this hotel.

We Loved this hotel. Clean, updated, two pools three hot tubs. No nickel and diming. Everyone was polite. We went to breakfast-it was delicious. Wish we would have stayed rather than going to Lahaina.

It felt like being at a resort, despite it being called a hotel. We were impressed with the pool area and with the general aesthetic of the place. The staff were very nice. The little porch on our room was lovely.

The coffee was so weak! But, really, everything else was great. We thought it was a good value for the money.

The Maui Coast Hotel is ideally located in Kihei—close to beaches and great dining​ and shopping, yet peaceful and relaxing. We stayed in the newer tower, and the room was spacious, modern, exceptionally clean, and quiet, perfect for our family of three. The pool and hot tubs were excellent, with plenty of space to lounge in the sun. Every staff member we met was friendly and provided outstanding service throughout our stay. With updated rooms, a great pool area, and top‑notch hospitality, the hotel offers excellent value for a Maui getaway. We highly recommend it to friends and family.

Excellent central Kihei with many attractions very close.

You definitely wanna stay in the new tower. The rooms are high-tech plenty of chargers. They give you a metal water bottle when you arrive and there’s filling stations throughout the resort. They did a really good job of combining the old resort with the new building and the new pools. All around 100% satisfied with our stay. They even have a all electric Volkswagen ID buzz. They will ferry you anywhere in Kihei in a 3 mile radius.

Despite the horrible flooding Kehei experienced just a few days prior to our arrival, the hotel was open and providing full service (once the pool was drained, cleaned, and refilled). Staff, from the front desk to housekeeping to valet, were always friendly and so knowledgeable of the area.

If I had to pick something, it would be the squeaky elevator door that sounded like it was either in pain or singing off-key.

Great location, lovely staff, good gym.

Our room was comfortable, spacious and very clean. We even managed to get the coffee pod machine to work (efforts at other hotels have not been as successful). The bathroom also was spacious and the shower power adequate. All staff were very helpful with both check in and check out trouble free. The hotel has a cafe at the front of the property which is best for breakfast but a little restrictive for evening meals. The hotel operates a refillable water bottle scheme which works well. There are also free laundry facilities for customer use which we found very useful. The room finish and bedding seemed particularly high quality. All lifts were working and would only operate when a room key was scanned, for security. The room keys were in the form of waterproof bracelets - not something we've encountered before - but it worked well and the bracelets can be kept as souvenirs at the end of the stay. There are also swimming pools, hot tubs and other leisure facilities that we didn't use but they all looked inviting.

This hotel was simply amazing. We booked this hotel because it was price competitive and cheaper than most other 4 or 5 star properties by at least 30-40%. We stayed in the Kai tower. The room was new with a king size bed, couch, table, generous bathroom and shower. It had a balcony with a table and two chairs. Great room! We took advantage of the free shuttle, bikes and pool/beach towels. Happy Hour at the pool is worth it for the drinks and live music. The hotel is close to many different restaurants and shops. It is a five minute walk to one of three beaches. It is really close to an ABC store that has daily fresh coffee, meal and sushi and is way cheaper. The staff were great. Everyone was pleasant and happy to help. Overall we were pleasantly surprised and would book this hotel again!

Great hotel with lots of family friendly amenities. We traveled with little kids and took full advantage of the free on site laundry. Kids loved the pools, there are several of them, including a very shallow one for the little ones. Hotel location is great - in the middle of Kihei and across the street from a beach. A lot of shops, restaurants, food trucks and beaches are within a walking distance, but the hotel also provides free bikes. Ample parking space and several EV charging stations that came in handy. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms in the new Kai tower are spacious and clean. We especially liked the shower with a detachable head, which made showering little kids a lot easier. Overall, great experience and highly recommended.

Friendly welcome. Nice furniture in King Suite, lovely toiletries, not the bulk kind. Coffee in room, frig and microwave, great location across from Coral Dunes beach park. Allowed us to stay all day after checkout with fully equipped transit rooms and lockers. Cafe and pool bar had excellent food day and night. Highly recommend!

Our room was at the end of the hall and we did not hear those neighbors. However, we could easily hear the family in the room above us. So loud we had difficulty sleeping.

We stayed 3 nights during a girls' trip (my mom, my aunt, and myself) to Maui. I did a bit of a random choice for the hotel, since there were SO many options in Maui and I wasn't familiar with the area. Definitely got lucky with the pick! The location of the hotel was great because we could walk to several restaurants and bars, as well as the beach nearby. We enjoyed the amenities (pool, pool bar, and on-site restaurant) as well. We selected an ocean-front room with two queen beds, and the room was very clean, cool, and comfortable. My only suggestion would be for them to have extra chairs available for the balconies- we had three of us in our room, but only 2 chairs on the balcony, which made it tough to sit outside and watch the sun go down each evening (one of our favorite activities). I would absolutely stay here again- hope to go back soon with my husband!

We purchased a day pass for the Maui Coast Hotel. It’s about a 25 minute Uber ride from port of Maui. The hotel has two lovely pools for you to enjoy. They also have a bar adjacent to the pool which serves beach snacks. They have clean restrooms and a free sunscreen station. You can also borrow chairs to use at the beach across the street. You can use free bicycles to ride around town. The staff seemed extremely caring and helpful.

Entrance is nice and renovatated, staff very welcoming.

Hoku tower room was old - maybe another building is newer. Many reviews are positive. We had old, dark room on ground floor with paking next to it. Very overpriced.

Really nice hotel/resort in a great location on Maui. Great pool area and bar. They have 3 very nice dedicated Pickleball Courts!

Beautiful facility, clean and comfortable. Pool vibe was awesome!

Nothing to harp on at all but sometimes I wish they would extend the pool times to say 11 or 12 midnight. Sometimes I like to just sit in the pool but don’t get back to the hotel till later in the evening after dinner and want more time to relax before bed.

Unable to room charge because I stayed for one night is what I was told at the restaurant near the pool.

The room was very clean, new and well designed. We stayed in the tower closest to the beach and had a lovely view of the ocean. Yummy breakfast at the pool with a delightful server. Across the road from a lovely beach.

The hotel is a little parking lot heavy. We only stayed for one night, but we wouldn't have liked that to be our total Hawaiian experience. Pool breakfast was delicious but served in disposable plastic containers which feels a little wasteful and impermanent. Our room wasn't inexpensive, over $400/night, though booked during a holiday week. Good effort on the hotel but definitley not relaxed resort vibes.
