Ontbijt was goed.
Location
The shower didn’t work; the toiletries were half empty and never replaced; the service was indifferent at best.
The location of the inn was ideal for exploring South Wales.
Breakfast was not served until 09.30 in the morning. This was not convenient for us at all. Our room was only just about big enough for two adults.
Called in for a evening meal, staff were friendly and welcoming. But when I pointed out they got our order wrong, they didn't seem to care, just said " that's the way it was put through till" so we ended up a starter rather than a main. I challenged it and they were prepared to change it Not impressed at all
Great location for a stop over. Excellent breakfast. Peaceful night sleep. Staff amazing.
All good, nothing bad.
Accogliente , pub caratteristico
Ampio posteggio. Staff molto gentile e disponibile.
I don’t take any pleasure in writing this review. The room was comfortable and clean and everything provided worked well. Our arrival and check-in was alright. The staff member behind the bar handling our check-in was helpful and friendly and Alison who cleaned our room everyday was lovely. But the rest of our experience staying there was poor. Hospitality is what is missing. We were not made welcome or treated as valued customers. On one occasion when we came down to breakfast half an hour too early, we were spoken to by staff abruptly and tersely and told to go back to our room and wait. It was belittling. On the one and only occasion we chose to eat in the restaurant, the food was fine but the attitude from staff was “take it or leave it”. So we chose to eat elsewhere for the remaining nights we were booked there. We will not stay at the Savoy Country Inn again and we would not recommend it to others.
It was in a great location, and all staff were friendly and accommodating
We liked everything. It was just very hot in our room that is all. The temperature was reading consistently 26c but it was a warm day.
It was a bed for the night
For the cost of the room, it just wasn't up to standard. The room was very basic. Also breakfast STARTED at 9:30 which I was not informed of when booking which is an incredibly late breakfast and really delayed my journey.
Great location to break drive back to ferry. Comfortable and quiet rooms, lovely food, great breakfast. Free parking. Would recommend
Very handy to stay, eat and rest up after driving from Liverpool on way to ferry in Pembroke next day
Room was nice & bathroom good! Looked newly decorated.
Breakfast Breakfast was very disappointing & did not look very appetising. Better quality bread/sourdough needed ( maybe from local bakery?)& better presentation particularly with scrambled egg & fried eggs & a little garnish
Staff all lovely nice comfy bed, food lovely and breakfast 😋
Na
Location, price, friendly staff with meals available
Nothing
Had a pub meal. Took our dog. Service was incredible - even our dog was given her own water bowl. Atmosphere was extremely welcoming (including from other customers, who clearly enjoy the same!). @Meg, our waitress, was lovely and made sure everything was perfect. Would highly recommend.
Really nice pub, good food and friendly staff. The room was clean and the bed was nice and comfy. Breakfast was very tasty in the morning too. All in all we had a good stay..thank you 😊.
The traffic noise was a bit much and the room was a tad small, but neither can be helped.
We love the Savoy and have stayed many times.the location is excellent for us
Nothing
Location was good . Clean room. Friendly staff.
Very noisy between 11.00 and 11.30 pm when trying to sleep . Sounded like barrels moving ?
Goede plek voor 1 nacht. Ligging is heel gunstig.
Het slot van de kamer deugde niet. Hier werd niet echt op ingegaan.
Everything
On a very busy road but the hotel was very busy too so it obviously doesnt matter
We had the best time here good food great staff and easy location to good beaches and other towns. Also all the locals where extremely welcoming.will definitely be back ....
Needs more fans around the pub
Location
Room.a bit small and stuffy.. Noise from traffic
Great staff, friendly and helpful, couldn’t fault them at all.
Fan in the room was dusty, outside space at the side of the property needs some TLC.
Fantastic bar staff, melody and Nikki
Staff were very polite and welcoming, we knew exactly what to do and what to expect, location was great and the fact it has a resturant is a bonus. It has a little play area and plenty of parking avaliable. The room was quiet and the breakfast was very good too.
Although it wasn't their fault due to hot weather, our room was very hot, which made it extremely difficult to sleep properly. There was a small window in the corner of our room that could only open at the top by a little. A fan was provided but it just blew out hot air. Apart from this everything else was fine.
Ally, Meg & Melody were really helpful and provided first class service, We will be back again soon,
very poor and inadequate ventilation on a hot night as the window only opened a few inches. Awful noise all night from traffic on the A40
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The one breakfast we managed to have was very good. Ideal location for our visit.
Room was road side and noisy. Rooms were very warm in the heatwave with only a fan and no AC. Bathroom was very small and cramped. Breakfast was served from 9am and 9.30am with no opportunity for an earlier serving. Unfortunately our days had been planned for earlier starts so couldn't have 2 of the 3 breakfasts we'd paid for.
Great staff, nice room. Good food Great prices. Quiz night was excellent. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice - unlimited tea and coffee.
Enjoyable stay, nice room although hot water system not very easy to use. Decent food.
Nothing
The location is on a busy road but you don’t really hear it, lovely beer garden/ outside area.
Nothing
Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Food quality could have been better.
The door knob was insecure. The shower did not get more than tepid. Breakfast included in the price but not available until 9.30.
Everything
Google maps points to the wrong location. Lock on the door a bit fiddly.
Waited an hour for food (two adult meals and two children meals), to be told it was another half hour wait. Gave up and went elsewhere as we had hungry children. Pub wasn’t busy so no excuse for a long wait! Wouldn’t recommend
We really appreciated being able to lock up our bikes inside the function room. And the man who checked us in was super friendly.
Evening meal was lovely.lovely helpful staff
Bathroom very small.lots of traffic noise
Always stay here when going to Tenby. Central, good food & lovely staff
Nothing
Having been charged twice for the same two nights last December and waited nearly six months for £113 to be repaid to my bank account, which the management promised to attend to before we had left, I made a direct complaint to Marston's head office which, after nearly six months of waiting, brought about an immediate response. It was the hotel manager who first pointed the mistake out to me, but then once we had left, he did nothing about. I am now pleased to be able to report that not only did Marstons repay the £113, a full apology followed, together with an ex-gratia payment of £60 in compensation, which certainly retains one's interest in Marston's outlets nationwide, but not in The Savoy Country Inn. It really was 'Soulless', and looking back, it would seem that those in charge were there in mind, but not in body.
Central, lovely staff, good food. Plenty of parking.Rooms clean and tidy

Location was good for our reason to stay at Savoy.
No breakfast service until 9:30am. We needed to arrive at our destination nearby by 9:00am. All 4 guests in the 2 rooms we booked went without breakfast for both mornings. Lots of scrap and rubbish all over the site. Unkept grass areas overgrown. Poor quality rooms. Tiny bathroom.
We pop in here for food regulary when we're down from Doncaster visiting family in Carmarthen. Always a welcoming athosphere, friendly staff and great pub grub. Never stayed overnight but would highly recommend this place for food & drinks. Thanks again guys/gals.
Nice pub, nice atmosphere, friendly staff & management, good tasty breakfast and evening meal
Bedroom we stayed in needs to have some TLC, very dated, needs new carpet very scruffy, and needs refreshing with bright decor and window dressing.
Stayed here in peak July to avoid paying Tenby hotel prices. Room clean and barman was friendly who we obtained key from. I've marked it down as the road is very busy and that noise transfers straight to the room and it was also an absolute sweat fest with no aircon in the room, just a small fan. Room was clean and average sized. Bathroom quite cramped and a taller person may struggle in the shower (I'm only 6ft and was difficult). That said, would stay again in cooler weather. Paid around £55, so less than half of what a hotel in Tenby would cost. Car park is huge, so no threat of not getting a space, there were even motorhomes in there when we stayed. There's a couple of EV charges in there if you have an electric car also. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g1373037-d2695655-r1062010870-Savoy_Country_Inn_by_Marston_s_Inns-St_Clears_Carmarthenshire_Wales.html#
Friendly place and quite at night
Breakfast was a little late
Location good, staff helpful, good value for money.
Breakfast was busy, limited staff caused replenishment of items to be very slow.
Restaurant and bar
Lack of room in shower area
Went for a meal at Lunchtime friendly staff great food good value for money.
Ordered a chicken curry. Nan bread was awful, tough, cold and tasted ‘stale’. The chicken within the curry was tough and some pieces were inedible. A poor experience and staff did not check how the food was and when I complained no attempt made to come to see us to discuss and no offer made to try to offer a refund or anything. Avoid and try and find a Welsh Pub where customer service and quality counts.
We went to the Savoy for a meal and a drink , the service was excellent and Alicia was very helpful . The meal was great value a Steak and Ale pie and very tasty washed down with a pint of Guinness .
The Savoy Inn is placed advantageously, providing easy reach of some of South Wales most desirable areas, including Tenby, Pendine Sands, Saundersfoot, Narberth and of course Laugharne. The staff here have been very welcoming at all times and the room clean and tidy also benefiting from a housekeeping visit on each day. We have tried several meals here and the food is of a very good standard. The management and staff should be rightly proud of what they are achieving here. We would highly recommend the Savoy Inn and will certainly stay here again.
Main road
The room was very clean and comfortable, the staff were great, price amazing, evening meal was lush.
Nothing, it was perfect for the one night we stayed.
I've stayed there before a few times.. usually paying £55-60 .. The price is now £69 but no additional service (NB breakfast is not available until 09.30). I know business costs have risen.. but a 20-25% increase with no additional service is far too much.
shower room is very tight. Television on the wall means walking past the bed is difficult (room 7)
My husband and I had a delicious meal at the Savoy County Inn on 12 April as part of a weekend away for my birthday. Ally and Alice gave us exceptional service and the way they treated our greyhound made our evening. Thank you!
leaving the next morning
they did not seam to like booking.com customers refused to check us in with out debit card & they had 20% discount of food ordered a meal and told discount is not if you booked with booking.com
Great location for our trip down to Pendine Sands for BABS' outing!Massive comfy bed, good shower and super friendly lovely staff! Thanks for a really enjoyable stay.
There was road noise, but it's on a very popular road, so not a lot you can do about it, didn't spoil our stay at all.
Gezellige pubsfeer, sfeervolle en schone kamer, heel vriendelijk personeel. Kortom heel knus verblijf!
Dinner was excellent value and very tasty - I had the Monday night pie and a pint The bed was comfortable and linen was clean and crisp.
Found bathroom to be a little cramped and shower tricky to set temperature
Really nice atmosphere, chicken wings with sweet potato fries were delicious and funky shirted barman gave great sex advice too! Highly recommend.
I had a warm welcome from excellent staff. The supper was delicious.
Everything in the room was clean and tidy. Several curtain hooks were missing on curtain so the light coming from the kitchen below was made more significant making it difficult to get to sleep and then stay asleep.
The room decor and furniture was old and worn but clean and everything worked . Breakfast was good value.
Breakfast doesn't even start until 9.30am, be aware if booking the breakfast! The bed was uncomfortable and springy. The charge for taking a pet is £15 per night and not per stay.
Location
Helpful staff
Poor sunday roast, over cooked. Very late breakfast times
Not much
Food bed staff
Lovely hotel in a nice setting. Room was clean but the window sill corners in bathroom was dirty but overall the room was satisfactory. Would have been nice if the rubbish bin could have been emptied during the 2 day stay. Food looked really good but after seeing dogs inside where food is served I refused to eat there. Nothing against dogs or owners but I just don’t want them there when I’m dining. The staff was very pleasant and professional. I would of scored 5/5 but with the dogs it’s a 3/5 I’m afraid
Sehr gemütliches Country Inn, sehr nettes Personal.
The reception was manned
Lovely pub and restaurant was great Staff exceptional really nice and friendly
Rooms were noisy need more sound proofing There was a band on Saturday night far too loud in the room
Excellent service and good value for money
Clean, friendly helpful staff, food was excellent and piping hot.
Outside seating area could do with a tidy up.
Great stay, spacious room, fabulous breakfast and evening meal close to all attractions. Staff fabulous will be back
Excellent food, brilliant staff, super helpful and service was friendly and efficient. Saw that they do lots of live music too so will definitely be back for one of those evenings. 40% off some lagers between 8-10pm on Saturday evening too!
Friendly staff
Couldn’t fault anything
Great stay lee the assistant manager was very welcoming from the moment we walk through the door , . He loved your little puppy Coco and ye loved him too . Great pub environment and great food and drink . Will visit again keep up the excellent job you do. Diolch yr fawr . Dorian coco and family x
Excellent breakfast. However only one member of staff on duty, there were 9 couples being served. The staff member dealt with everyone promptly but it was too much.for one person I felt The room was very clean with pure white bedding and large towels.
The bathroom was tiny. With just enough room to get and out of the shower. Not even room to put a toothbrush. The noise from the busy road kept us awake all night.
Such a great experience. Staff were super friendly and attentive and the food was amazing! We had the chicken sharing platter between us and it was piping hot and plentiful. Really impressed with Harry the chef who even checked to see if we enjoyed the food.
We stayed in our Motorhome at the rear of the Savoy. Nick and his team were very friendly and welcoming.Food was great (Pie night 😁) and beer was lovely. Alice provided a lovely warm service with our meals. They allowed us to use their toilets at night as well. Thank you for allowing us to stay.
Comfortable
Bathroom minuscule
I have read the many five star accounts of this hotel and I began to wonder if we had stayed at the same hotel ? By name and post code - Yes, we had, on the 21st and 22nd of December prior to our usual pre-Christmas stay at The New Gower in Bishopston. We arrived mid afternoon, to be told by the manager that I had I had paid twice for the two night stop. That was not strictly true. I had paid when I first booked on October 6th in full but, two days before we arrived, my account had been debited a second time without my authority. He, and his misses were going to sort it out - I thought before we left two days later, but no, there was nothing that could be done without head office approval. I had to wait, and now, over a month later, I am still waiting the return of some £113 which Mr & Mrs had known about, since it was they who first informed me of the mistake. Overall, it does not surprise me because I was offered a round f drinks on the house as an apology - But they also proved to be empty words. There were only about five lads playing darts and a couple having a meal in the place - Absolutely no Christmas spirit, so we went off to St. Clears and found The Corvus House, which was a lovely friendly pub, full of the season's good will AND they had Bass on draft, of which I enjoyed three pints - and only £4.20 a pint ! They say it is easier to lose customers than it is to find them. Well, I like to talk places up, as the catering trade has had a torrid time since the pandemic and this government has made it even more difficult for them. On the other side of the coin, publicans have got to make the effort to see their pubs are run properly, and if there is no custom four days before Christmas, when is there going to be ? The fact that I am still out of pocket, the offer of a drink for myself and my wife was forgotten as soon as the sentence left his lips, shows the finger is not on the pulse. It could be such a nice venue, and to others, it must have been - Which is why I doubted what I was reading. However, facts are facts and, one can only report on personal experience. Any Free House would have to be run on more professional lines, or they would go out of business.
the noise its a very noisy place
Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. Excellent on price. Friendly staff
Nothing
Excellent location, didn’t really get disturbed by the road traffic.
I liked everything
Location
TV didn’t work in the bedroom- I was told booking .com should have told me. Took several minutes to get got water in the morning
Dinner was nice Breakfast confusing Room ok but shower did not work
Shower in room Confusing way to order breakfast
Breakfast was very good
Rooms was nice and clean, can't say nothing about food, we arrived late so kitchen was closed and breakfast same, set off early. But in general nice place to stay.
Wonderful experience, fantastic staff and Nicky is fabulous and a delightful host. I recommend the savoy for food and beer
Comfortable mattress
Very small bathroom
evening Meal was ok
Reception asked for a credit card, wanted it for in case i smoked in room, i do not smoke, or in case i had a dog. I travelled 320 miles , i dont own a dog or take a dog on a business trip. Refused to allow them to swipe credit. Asked for a paid invoice produced a profoma invoice. Had to explain proforma invoice not valid to hmrc. They had to do a written invoice under duress. Then i asked what time breakfast, told 9.30 am. This was not on booking. com written booking. This is an absolute con so they do not have to provide a cooked breakfast. All reception referred to was there website. I did not book through there website, no offer of refund for breakfast. piss poor service. Sink in bedroom very small could not fill kettle had to use a glass to fill kettle. Although the bedroom had double glazing the road noise was there all night worse case of little sleep to traffic noise. Best to give this a miss if you are a business user as you will be disappointed
