I had a great stay at Mayan Monkey Tulum – Social Hostel. The social atmosphere was amazing, the pool was great, and it was easy to meet other travelers. I really enjoyed my time here. If I come back to Tulum, I would definitely stay here again!

I wasn’t sure about this hostel when I first arrived. After a long day of travelling, it felt really busy and loud, and I wondered if I’d made the right choice. But after settling in, I completely changed my mind. The atmosphere here is brilliant – it’s really social without feeling forced, and it’s easy to meet people. The staff were super helpful throughout my stay, and there were loads of activities every day, including cooking classes, DJ lessons, cocktail classes and yoga, so there was always something to do. The dorms were easily the nicest and cleanest I stayed in during my time in Mexico. They were spacious, modern, and the showers were excellent, with proper hot water, which wasn’t something I got in many other hostels. The location is great too, just a short ride from the beach. They also hire out mopeds and bicycles, which we used and made getting around really easy. There’s a huge chill-out area if you want to relax, as well as a lively pool and bar area if you’re in the mood for a party. I actually ended up coming back here later in my trip, which says it all really. I’d definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, modern and social hostel in Tulum.

The atmosphere of the hostel was great, with a very social and welcoming environment that made it easy to meet new people. The facilities were clean, the common areas were lively, and the location was convenient. What made the biggest difference, however, was the staff. Denis Cruz at the reception was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and always greeted guests with a smile. He went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. I also joined the cenote tour with him, and it ended up being one of the highlights of my stay. His positive energy, local knowledge, and genuine interest in guests created a fantastic experience.

El chico del bar (un extranjero) no sentí que fuera amable de verdad! Lo intentaba, pero no parece natural, en cambio el resto del staff excelente. Gracias ♥️

Habitaciones espaciosas, personal atento y amable, es mi tercera vez que me alojo en Mayan Monkey un buenas atención en recepción, aunque solo fue un dia me la pase super muy recomendado y en area de la barra buen atención, es buen lugar para una vacaciones mayan te hace que te lleve una buena experiencia y lo hizo bien 👍 Gracias mayan monkiey por la estancia...

Tuve una experiencia increíble en Mayan Monkey Tulum. Desde que llegas se siente un ambiente súper relajado, divertido y muy bien cuidado. Las camas y habitaciones son demasiado cómodas; honestamente no se siente como un simple hostal, se acerca muchísimo a la experiencia de un hotel de lujo pero con una vibra mucho más social y auténtica. Todo el lugar se mantiene muy limpio y cuidado, y algo que realmente hace la diferencia es el personal: siempre fueron muy amables, atentos y dispuestos a ayudar en todo momento, haciendo que la estancia se sintiera todavía más agradable. Las actividades que organizan son muy dinámicas y divertidas, siempre hay algo que hacer y es muy fácil conocer gente de todas partes. Además, la ubicación es excelente, está muy cerca tanto de las playas como del centro de Tulum, así que moverse es súper práctico. Definitivamente fue una experiencia que disfruté muchísimo y sin duda volvería a hospedarme aquí. Súper recomendado.

¡Increíble estancia! Sin duda, uno de los mejores hoteles en los que me he hospedado. Las instalaciones son modernas, limpias y muy bien cuidadas. El ambiente es divertido y perfecto para conocer gente de todo el mundo. El personal siempre fue amable y atento, dispuesto a ayudar en todo momento. La ubicación es excelente y las actividades que organizan hacen la experiencia aún más especial. Well maintained.

That I had to show my passport to check in. A valid form of ID such as driver’s license should be sufficient to check in. You are not at a border nor are you border services. My driver’s license was accepted at every other stay I had.

The ambience at Mayan Monkey itself makes you want to extend your stay. The staff are fantastic, they offer lots of activities, and the breakfast includes real Mexican options as well. Not to mention the remote working facilities - the WiFi couldn’t be better! Francesca’s yoga sessions are outstanding, the guys at the reception are very helpful, and the bar is just as great thanks to Carlos and Brian! Remek ötlet volt a Mayan Monkey hotel, egyből két hetet is eltöltöttem itt. A szoba tökéletes, a személyzet nagyon korrekt és mindez baráti áron. Visszajövök.

The room was clean

No electricity and no solutions offered by staff. Restaurant staff secretly add tips to the bill and pressure you to pay in advance. Promises for refunds were made by the staff but in the end they redirect you to the booking customer service.

Excellent place to stay. Liked the vibes.

Moyennement aimé le restaurant et la cuisine sent vraiment mauvais, mais on peut facilement passer au dessus en mangeant à l’extérieur ! La pression des douches est vraiment faible et l’eau froide à moins d’attendre vraiment longtemps

Uns dos melhores hostels que já fiquei. O quarto compartilhado tem um espaço ideal. Ar condicionado ligado o dia todo (importante pois é muito quente e úmido em Tulum). Perto da praia, do centro. Consegui fazer tudo caminhando, porém, acordava cedo pois o calor é demais.

1. The front desk staff including Vanessa, Karen, Emannuel, etc, and the bar staff was super polite, and friendly. 2. The people I was able to socialize with were awesome. 3. The breakfast was great. 4. A/C in dorms.

I dont mean to sound rude or anything, It was a pleasant stay overall, but the experience fell short in numerous ways, and there is scope for improvement as I have been to a lot cheaper hostels that were better. Hence, this is more of a feedback from consumer to business to improve. 1. The cleanliness of the dorms. The wash basins were clogging, there was no door between the shower, and the clothe racks, and it just ended up being pretty messy all the time. 3. The common area couches were very spotty, and messy . I dont know how often they were cleaned, and could totally use pillow covers that can be thrown into the laundry every now, and then. 4. You’re better off renting scooters from outside the hostel. The scooters were pretty beat up. I think they should repair the scooters before renting them to their guests. The scooters were also mot great on gas 5. Last, but very important was the obnoxious DJ sets they were playing EVERY DAY starting 12.00 pm-12.00 am even when there were only 3 people sitting at the bar. I understand its a bar area, and they have to play music, but I feel some lounge music playing at a LOWER volume that could help us talk to each other without having to scream into each other’s ears would have been great. Because of this reason, there were barely anyone wanting to sit in the bar area and socialize. Since its a hostel, they could have focused on organizing more group activities. All from love, no hate❤️

De prullenbakken moeten vaker geleegd worden ivm de geur. De gehele dorm stonk naar poep!

El hostel era increíble, mucho mejor que muchos de los hoteles donde nos hemos quedado en México. Los baños están super limpios y camas cómodas y bien aisladas. No llevábamos candado, no nos faltó absolutamente nada , y para colmo .... Me dejé la cartera al hacer el checkout y me contactaron del hostel para devolvermela ( con Todo su contenido) e incluso me hicieron el favor de traerme la a playa del carmen ! Muchas gracias Pedro!!!!!!

El desayuno, la atención y la ubicacion del hostal. Me volvería a quedar ahí sin duda. Además, hay buenas actividades y nunca te aburres.

Hotel propre, personnel à l'écoute et sympathique. Chambre spacieuse. Piscine et extérieur agréables. Petit déjeuner délicieux : choix à la carte d'une boisson chaude + fruits maison ou jus d'orange+ Plat. Activités gratuites proposées par l'hôtel : yoga 2 fois par jour, cours de cuisine et autres... Fond musical d'extérieur agréable. Espace au calme disponible au rez de chaussée avec en plus cuisine et espace de travail. Eau filtrée à disposition dans la cuisine pour les gourdes. Emplacement parfait pour une excursion à Sian Kann ou la visite de Cenotes.

Manque de ventilation malgré la climatisation, les affaires avaient du mal à sécher. Pour aller en ville, il est préférable d'emprunter les boulevards principaux. Les GPS peuvent faire passer par des rues non éclairées qui peuvent paraître "peu sûres" de nuit : feux, chiens en liberté abboyant...

The place is really nice, services were really good. Great place to meet people. The activities (the yoga instructor is really professional) and the kindness of the receptionists were amazing. :)

Some male waiters were a bit rude for breakfast. Price of certain trips were too high.

Great location and so much fun! They have activities like mixology & cooking class & tours for you all week. Eduardo is the best bartender, makes the best drinks. Antonio taught me how to make drinks at the mixology class and he made it fun. It's a hostel & hotel so you have both. So much fun here and I will return!

Tiene varias actividades para realizar dura te la estancia, queda cerca del centro, el personal es muy amable y te ayudan en las dudas que tengas, las habitaciones son cómodas. Me gustaría agradecer A Pedro, Alexis y Emmanuel son los mejores. Pedro es muy bueno recomendando tour y sobre todo donde comer los mejores mariscos en tulum.

Ich hatte einen super Aufenthalt, alles war sehr sauber, die Gemeinschaftszimmer hatten 2 Duschen und 2 WCs. Die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption haben bei allen Angelegenheiten geholfen, wenn es um Touren oder Transfers ging, dankeschön vor allem an Alexis and Kevin.

The room was perfect ! Comfy, quiet and safe. The common areas was very nice and it’s good for a long trip. Laundry area was perfect washer and dryer that you need before scheduling. Emmanuel is very helpful and professional host, I thank him again.

Party hostel, good staff, nice pool area, good wifi. 7/11. Maybe best bed i slept, thick curtain.

The kitchen is too small and the tap was broken.

The breakfast was first class. I'm happy I didn't miss it. The whole building has an amazing, chill, calm and nice vibe. The rooms were cleaned every day, and it's a huge plus that not only one but two bathroom and two toilet were inside the room (12 beds female). The social area was amazing and well decorated, drinkable water is always accessible in the kitchen. I think this is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed. Worth the hipe !!!

Location is kind of away from the downtown center.

Generally people reserve activities as an itinerary for things to do. For example, people reserve cenotes day beforehand. On the other end, the morning activities do not have reservation. I think more people would come if there were a reservation, then other people who haven't reserved can also come. The idea is to put a timeblock reminder for people who reserve, elsewise people are likely to attend other events instead. In my case, I did not attend any of the morning activities because I did not have a reminder for me in place.

Hostel très propre, chambre confortable, et bien équipé

Trop froid et humide dans la chambre pas de place pour étendre des affaires mouillés qui ne peuvent pas sécher dans la chambre Il manque un peu d’équipement dans la cuisine également (fourchette, tasses, poêle…)

En anelse dyrt og deres nytårs middag var lidt af en skuffelse - der var høj musik og fest i baggrunden, så man kunne ikke rigtig hører hinanden. Maden var god men ikke synderlig imponerende for pengene.

It’s really party hostel. If you are on a solo trip, this is perfect place to meet new people!

É un hotel con camere stile ostello molto grande. Sembra quasi di stare in un resort. Decisamente uno dei più belli ostelli che abbia mai visto! Staff gentilissimo, molto attendo ai propri ospiti. Ambiente molto chill, calmo e rilassante. La piscina un top!

Peccato per la zona un po’ isolata, raggiungibile solo tramite taxi

O staff era ótimo, super divertidos, jogaram beer pong com a gente, as festas noturnas foram todas incríveis, o DJ muito animado. Café da manhã bem gostoso.

O café da manhã às vezes demorava muito a chegar, algumas mesas estão bambas, então várias pessoas tiveram roupa com café derramado devido a essa instabilidade das mesas.
