Reviewed Aug 6, 2026Very clean and comfortable. Furniture is basic but modern and everything you need. Fantastic to have both a cafe and Thai restaurant onsite. The service and food was great. Love the courtyard garden as well. Will happily return next time I'm in Dunedin.

Reviewed Aug 4, 2026Have always loved staying at Aurora, their rooms are warm, the bed is comfortable, they have a strong shower, and it is a great location. We love the gardens outside our room.
There have been a few changes from the last few times we have been here that were a bit sad… Hubby missed the shortbread which used to be in our room on arrival. They seem to have gotten rid of the glass milk bottles they used to provide when we arrived and have replaced them with plastic ones. The bathroom was cold and towel rails aren’t heated. The locks have been removed from the door making the room feel less safe. Our Uni dayghter popped over to visit us, the window was open and she managed to put her arm in and open the door before we even realised she had arrived.

Reviewed May 5, 2026Lovely well appointed room, appreciated that they could make it twin share as I was sharing with my teenage son. Comfortable beds, good heating, nice bathroom and the kitchenette had everything we needed. We had a rental car so having carparking was great too.
We were given a wheelchair access room so the shower left water on the bathroom floor, but this was minor.

Not a lot of dining options. Could hear the people next door talking so joint wall isn’t soundproof. Front doors slam shut so noisy (why can’t anyone make quiet self closing doors!)
