Very comfortable bed, spacious room and everything was spotless. Coffee machine was a great addition.

TV didn’t work, spoke with reception but nothing got fixed. Bit of a bummer with the World Cup being on but happy to watch it in the bar instead.

Hotel is nicely placed, only 10 minutes drive to Hatfield House. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was clean and functional, and there were plenty of sockets around the room. Breakfast was a well supplied buffet, and the evening meals and bar were very good.

Not really an issue, but we thought it was a bit weird that the TV turned itself on as soon as you turn the power back on to the room- if one person was asleep when the second person came back to the room, it may be a bit disruptive. Also bit of a shame that there were no cocktails to be had.

Für unsere Zwecke hatte das Hotel eine perfekte Lage, auch wenn man meiner Meinung nach zwingend ein Auto benötigt. Das Personal war freundlich, das Zimmer ungewöhnlich groß und sauber. Das Frühstück war außergewöhnlich gut und es gab ausreichend kostenlose Parkplätze direkt vor der Tür.

Der Wasserhahn in der Badewanne wurde sehr, sehr heiß. Die Idee, im Spiegel über der Badewanne einen Fernseher zu integrieren, ist grundsätzlich spannend. Leider konnte uns jedoch niemand vom Personal erklären, wie das genau funktioniert. Das war ein wenig schade. Der Fußboden im Zimmer quietschte und knirschte zudem recht stark.

The hotel is very clean and comforting. The location was perfect and central to where we planned to visit. The staff members are very nice and hospitable. The staff in the resturant are very nice and knowlegeable.

There isn't a fridge in the room. The breakfast could have some more added varieties. You may also want to look into room service.

The front desk staff were very helpful & pleasant, assisting us with an early check in, so we could get to our event on time. Room was spacious and well presented, and the bathroom was lovely. Cannot fault this hotel or location.

Only provided with a single key card despite two staying so every time one of us left the building the electric would go off in the room for the person left there. Not ideal when in the shower at night

I loved the vintage style as I had booked due to the heritage of the hotel. The hotel was clean throughout and the staff were helpful but discreet. Our rooms were lovely. Both were clean, beds very comfortable and rooms were quiet due to us being in the original building. The period features within the hotel and room were beautiful. Enjoyed the drinks options/water bottle which were topped up during our stay. Also the rooms were surprisingly quiet considering the busy road outside. Easy access to bus stops outside the hotel, and equally it was easy to order a taxi (noted reception are happy to do this if you are unable to arrange yourself).

The only feedback is that the breakfasts were not quite up to scratch. On both mornings we found that some of the hot food had run out, and we were waiting a while for parts of the cooked breakfast to be brought out. Also there did not appear to be much choice for the cold options e.g. cheeses, meats. In addition although there was the option to ask for alternative eggs, we were not approached by staff to ask if we needed anything or to offer other things such as pots of tea. Maybe pots of tea are not an option at this hotel, but I think considering this is a vintage hotel, that this would be a nice touch.

The rooms were bright and clean and reasonably well equipped. The breakfast was very good with a selection of Full English and Continental choices but was quite expensive. Throughout our stay, all of the staff we talked to and interacted with were very friendly, accommodating and efficient. The food and drink in the restaurant were priced as expected for a hotel and was good quality. The hotels position is good for the University and local attractions.

The selection and quantity of drinks in the room was insufficient for the stay. The breakfast, although very nice, was expensive. We were given a Taxi firm telephone to call as they gave the Hotel a "special deal" but the price for the short journey (less than 2 miles) was extremely expensive (£12) and the return with another company later at night was cheaper (£10) so they need to look to see who their "friends" are. The menu in the restaurant is a little sparse and could have more choice.

Liked the art deco design and comfortable room

Staff weren't welcoming. No recognition of wife's birthday which I had told the hotel about. We were rushed at breakfast and photos of surroundings were misleading.

The hotel is conveniently sited; the rooms are very clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful.

But, as so often in hotels with low bed occupancy rate, and thus no incentive to nurture customers, the breakfast was no more than adequate. By 7.15am (15 minutes from start), most items on the self-service trays were already lukewarm at best

Very clean and well equipped rooms with hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Bed was extremely comfortable and the soap and moisturiser in the bathroom smelt lovely and was a very nice touch.

The only reason I haven't given this hotel top marks is because our room was backing onto the student accommodation next door and when we got back to our room there was quite a group of students outside in their accommodation grounds and they were loud and a little rowdy so we could hear them in our room. They didn't disperse until about 2am.

Friendly reception staff went above and beyond to accommodate our early arrival. Air con was amazing during the heatwave, made such a big difference Lovely room with large comfortable bed, an iron, hairdryer etc and I really liked that they included some herbal teas in the drink selection. Toiletries from the white company were nice too. Good base location. Very good value for money on a Friday night Quiet, no noise or disturbance so had a great sleep Free parking! This was a big plus. Would definitely stay again if I was in this area : )

Fantastic location. Staff made us feel completely at home, very relaxed and welcoming. Rooms felt like luxury for the low price.

Loved pretty much all of it. We did find that a lamp wasn't working at the vanity desk, but that's nothing a new bulb wouldn't fix.

Food and comfort exceeded expectations,

...but wifi didn't work and the EV chargers (which is why I chose that hotel) did not work. It took 4 hours (!) to find a working charger - my app took me to car parks that were closed, to MSCP that had nothing in them, to a row of Blink chargers that did not work (I'll never bother trying Blink ever again - you have to download an app where there is only a 2G (EDGE) signal) ... but eventually to one that did work thankfully as by then I had warnings flashing up that I only had 10 miles left.

Pillows were aweful. Really soft. No support. Shower drain was a pain. Difficult for soap suds to go down. Had to really point shower on drain hole. Could of done with a mini fridge to keep water cold.

Loved the art deco style decoration- bar was bright and pleasant, room spacious and bed really comfortable. Friendly helpful staff. Air con great in hot weather! Very good evening meal in the restaurant.

We stayed in the modern extension. It was absolutely fine for us but you have to check in at main reception and then walk back out through the car park to access the other block. If it had been rainy or we’d had more luggage it would have been good to know in advance so we could check in and then collect our luggage from the car rather than drag it all in. But a very minor point. Excellent stay otherwise

Room very warm for me , opening windows was not an option as the room overlooks a noisy courtyard. Breakfast selection was good , cereals-pastries-hot and cold selection of breakfast however the hot plates with food in them were not particularly hot .

Easily located just off the motorway. Beautiful art deco hotel which has been tastefully renovated. Extremely clean with comfortable bed. Restaurant and Bar extremely good value for money and very friendly staff.

I received a different room than I booked, and the air conditioning in the room didn't work. At the end, I learned that I would probably get a parking fine because the lady at the reception didn't tell me right away, but after an hour that I had to write down my vehicle registration at the reception.

Really impressed with the hotel. Friendly staff, bar food was great, bedroom was bigger than I expected. Very quiet in the bedroom despite the hotel being by a busy road.

Staff were fantastic. The lady on Reception when we were arrived was so funny, friendly and helpful - the team in the restaurant were great too. Breakfast was a lovely little selection, from hot breakfast (scrambled eggs were very nice, quite rare on a buffet) to a variety of fruits, breads, pastries and cereals. Room was clean and comfortable, varied teas and coffees with biscuits. Location was fantastic as we were attending a festival nearby and it was very close to the train station too.

Nothing I could say I didn't like. We just needed a place to stay for a couple of nights whilst in the area, and I will definitely be looking at staying here again when we come back for future festivals!
