Küche zur Frühstückszeit grade 8-10 Uhr morgens nicht benutzbar, weil dort das kostenpflichtige Hostelfrühstück zubereitet wird. Bäder werden morgens (etwas ungünstig) zwischen 8-11 Uhr geputzt - grade dann wenn sich alle für den Tag fertig machen möchten. Doppelzimmer haben wenig Platz und teils kein Fenster.

Le chambre qui n’a pas vraiment de porte et qui ne dispose d’aucun espace de rangement (seulement deux crochets pour pendre les affaires), la salle de bain pas très propre et une longue attente au petit déjeuner.

L’endroit est malheureusement très bruyant et l’insonorisation laisse à désirer. Des personnes ont discuté jusque très tard dans la nuit et tout s’entendait depuis la chambre. L’instauration d’une heure de couvre-feu en soirée serait vraiment souhaitable afin de préserver le confort et le sommeil des autres voyageurs.

Reviewed Jul 3, 2026What a cute hostel! This was the first time introducing my teens to a hostel. We had a private room with private bathroom, but it did give them an idea of the hostel environment, and they were able to peek into the dorms and such to see what it was like. Staff was super friend. I got the breakfast one morning and it was yummy. Overall, the place was clean and well taken care of. Great spot to stay if choosing to make la Candelaria your home away from home while visiting Bogota.

When they light the BBQ or people smoke on the terrace sometimes the smoke would drift into our room and make it smell.

Chamble double privée quasiment sans fenêtre (des ouvertures aveugles dans le haut du mer). C'est, relatiivement à ce que l'on peut trouver par exemple dans les quartiers calmes de Chapinero ou Teusaquilla, très cher (38 euros contre 22) pour le service proposé. Le touriste paie ... le quartier touristique de la Candelaria. De même le petit déjeuner au prix d'un repas complet pour un Colombien de la capitale qui mange ordinaire. Le Botanico est une adresse correcte pour passer disons deux nuits en arrivant de l'étranger. À pied d'œuvre pour monuments et musées, pas plus. Après filer sur "plus colombien" et moins cher.

Reviewed May 30, 2026Very cozy hostel in middle of the historic old town. The staff is very friendly and helpful with 24/7 availability. There are great common areas including a rooftop terrace and a garden and it is quite easy to meet people.
The private rooms were very small with hard beds and quite a lot of noise.

El personal no tiene una adecuada preparación. A un problema que el mismo personal creo, la solución fue un atropello a mis derechos como huésped. Sin ninguna solución real para mí. Tuve que irme varias horas antes y no pude dormir las horas necesarias. Solo atropello arbitrario. Sin disculpas ni siquiera. La ducha que usé no tiene más condiciones de seguridad porque la cerámica para pared que es lisa también esta instalada en el piso y me hice una herida en el pie al resbalar.

Zimmer wurden nicht geputzt. Auf Nachfrage wurde dann gesagt, man hätte den Schlüssel da lassen sollen aber es sei jetzt schon zu spät.

La description de la chambre double, avec salle de bains partagé, non exacte où il n'y a pas de vue sur le jardin et où on entends les toilettes. Après une très mauvaise nuit,la direction a été comprehensive et m'as donné une meilleure chambre en me faisant un prix. Pour plus de 40e/nuit la 2eme chambre était meilleure .. La 1er chambre ne vaut selon moi vraiment pas le prix. Les réceptionnistes ont été compréhensif et aidant. La vue et le feu dans le jardin Très appréciable.

Al final en hostales de “solo travelers” se habla mucho en inglés pero es una pena que estando en Colombia no se hable en español entre los huéspedes, simplemente un aviso para otros viajeros hispanoparlantes!! Si quieres conocer gente y no sabes mucho inglés es un poco limitante

Reviewed Mar 13, 2026I travel alone often so I like to stay at hostels. Many hostels have a bar and restaurant and pictures of social gatherings but Botanico Hostel was the real deal. There karaoke night was very fun, people singing from all over the world, the bartenders were kind and generous, and the last evening I was there they had a party on the roof with a dj. Fun times to be had. As far as accommodations, I stayed in the dorms one night and a private two nights, each room, even the dorms are attractive. The private room came with a small space heater, which was lovely as Bogota can be chilly. There are plenty of bathrooms to use, that are cleaned regularly, so if there is any wait it is very short.
The first night I was in the private room, Begonia, I didn't use the space heater provided because it was plugged into a socket that didn't work, so I assumed it didn't work. In the middle of the night I awoke to the smell of mold. I don't know about the mold situation in the other privates but, Begonia shares a wall with the bathrooms and that shared wall smelled the most of mold. Once I plugged my heater into the other socket and kept it running the smell lessened but, I was bummed to realize that that very pretty room had a moldy wall.

Booked a private ensuite and big issues. The room is very cold with only a small fan heater with one socket in a corner meaning the room doesn’t get heated - the shower room is so cold. WiFi signal is poor and pretty hopeless for streaming. Basic room with no basic amenities eg clothes rack

La nostra stanza privata era veramente troppo luminosa è stato impossibile dormire perché il tetto era totalmente scoperto ed entrava luce che sembrava di essere in un solarium , abbastanza umido, bagno veramente piccolo, acqua fredda nel lavandino.

Reviewed Mar 2, 2026the hostel is located in the historical neighbourhood of Candelaria and that makes it convenient to walk to many nice cafes and tourist attraction, it felt also quite safe! the room is nice and the whole hostel has a nice rural aesthetic. all services are available, shower is hot (not granted in colombia!) and they provide you with a heater in the room to warm up the space during colder stays.
Staff wasn't very talkative / helpful. Wi-fi in our double room was never working, even tho we mentioned it a couple times. We were staying in a sort of basement room, named Heliconia, where also 5G signal was weak, so it was quite a bummer to not have a functioning wifi, it left us without internet in the room (you wouldn't expect that in the citycenter of the country's capital!)

Reviewed Mar 1, 2026Personnel très sympa. Nous n’avions réservé qu’une nuit et ils nous ont trouvé une solution pour la seconde nuit mais dans une chambre pour les volontaires pas très confortable, bruyante , et les salles de bain ne sont pas très propres. Sinon super terrasse
