Gemstone Guest House

Clean, spacious, and located in a great area. It was perfect for self-catering, and we stayed in the ground-floor family room, which was very convenient. The host messaged us on the morning of our arrival with the location details, check-in information, and even sent a video of our room, which made everything very easy. She was friendly and welcoming, and we also received a thoughtful gift upon arrival. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay and would gladly recommend it to others.

Overall, we had a good stay, but there are a few areas that could be improved. Firstly, regarding safety and security, we felt that a security gate in front of the sliding door would have given us much greater peace of mind, especially while staying with young children. Secondly, the main bed in the family room felt a little small for our family. We ended up moving one of the single beds next to the queen bed so that our children could sleep comfortably with us. The bathroom also needs some attention. Neither the shower door nor the bathroom door closed properly. In addition, the hot water system was a little difficult to use. As the unit uses a gas geyser, the water would become very hot, but when we added cold water to adjust the temperature, the hot water would often cut out, making it difficult to maintain a comfortable shower. The TV setup was another area where we felt an upgrade would improve the guest experience. After a long day of travelling, especially with children, we would have appreciated a Smart TV with access to YouTube, Netflix, or an app such as Watchlist Pro. The older DStv setup wasn't very convenient for us, as our children don't normally watch the available cartoon channels. These are relatively small improvements that could make a significant difference to the overall guest experience. Despite these points, we still had a pleasant stay and appreciated the host's hospitality.

Was conveniently located for the purpose I needed it for Secure, private and peaceful

Not enough blankets were provided (despite me asking for more). I had to source blankets elsewhere. Terrible gas geyser system that has to be constantly adjusted / switched off and on while showering Bathroom door does not close properly Fridge / freezer was not switched on Some kitchen units were broken Tea / coffee station not topped up for my 2nd night (despite me requesting this)

Everything was perfect.

Location was good, please try to give options on Breakfast don't like an omelet at all. We just love the service of the lady who served us with breakfast she is the best.

Please try to change your brown headboard looks old and when you turned to other side.....it's hitting the wall which makes us uncomfortable.

Little container for shampoo, hand wash, showe cap, soap and body wash...

gemstone is amazing and their standard is always top notch and i am very happy new owner are continuing with great service and improving it even further. it is always great stay.

Nothing to complain about

The cleaningness, an open big room with a very big bed. And the land lord offered us extra time, saying it is not busy so we can just take our time. So we overstayed our visit.

In the bathroom the jacuzzi bath is there but not working, when you try to switch it on it does not bubble. And the TV kept on loosing connection since our arrival.

Such a wonderful welcoming. Staff so friendly. Premises so clean. Thank you.

The staff was extremely nice and the garden was nicely taken care of and full of beautiful birds.

It needs a little refurbishing but it's very good in value for money. Definitely worth the price!

The staff was excellent and very friendly especially Tina. Lovely breakfast and a comfortable stay.

I enjoyed everything about my stay. Wonderful place and very quiet.

Nothing

The service, the tranquility - peace of mind that my car was safe. We also enjoyed the easy access, and mobility to go out and see your town...Will most definately return soon.

The pool was not really available, but the rainy weather kind of spoilt that expectation. perhaps get ashtrays for all the tables outside, as there was only one.

The management and staff at Gemstone were exceptional. Customer service at the highest level. They made our stay very comfortable and tended to all of our needs. The property is very quiet and peaceful and I would definitely stay at this location in the future.

Staff was amazinfb

Liked everything. The beautiful garden, the spacious room, the feeling of getting home. The staff are driendly and very helpful. Absolutely nothing I can fault them on. They are definitely at the top of my favourite list.

Communication was very good. Check in and meeting staff was very pleasant. Any needs we could ask. Central situated. Room was comfy for our family

Bathroom was a bit small for our needs. But did the job

The place was super clean, with very freindly and helpful staff who accomodated our unique needs and requests. Also close to essential emenities. Great value for money.

Nothing comes to mind

Cleanliness

So much empty space at least a couch will fit well in that room instead of two chairs..pillows are too hard...improve door security with burglar proof...an intruder can easily shake the door and unlock it and the entrance gate signage needs painting remember its the guest's first impression about the place .

quiet area, safe parking

Shover was not good.. looked like pressure problems with hot water stopping some times. No toiletries were provided for the room.

Spacious, perfect for a family for a short stay.

The place is clean, spacious, and peaceful . Perfect location and friendly staff.

Nothing

Stuff, room and location was perfect

Swimming pool was not cleaned

The receptionist was friendly & tried assisting as much as possible

The room was just to meeting standards. Old carpets & generally not fresh. Water system not working very well. The water switches to cold now & then in the middle of a taking a shower. We didn’t know that they won’t be cleaning rooms on Sunday until we were there….. more like being trapped.

Everything

If booked in for longer then 2 days, please bring fresh bath towels, milk etc.

The quietness and nature vibes was exceptional.

No dislikes

My stay was perfect 🥰🥰🥰 The host was amazing too... Thank you so so much... The Pizza delivery girl 🤣

I like everything. Gemstone is the best guest house in town

The place was clean and tidy Friendly staff ....very accommodating. Great place

Niks

Friendliness of the guy who helped us

friendly staff

very old and outdated

Everything was okay honestly

I thought my room had a bath and a shower unfortunately it was only a shower, the shower was a bit old though yoh.. But I shall request another room with both a shower and bath...Also sink. And the towels are tired . Wear off kindly look into that.. The guest from the other room had kids with the kids made a lot of unnecessary noise in the morning...screamed running around. My partner and I were so disturbed from our peaceful sleep. Thank you I shall come back again

Friendly service and excellent hospitality. The room was very nice and comfortable.

Friendly staff!

Towels is on the thin side.

The gentleman that was assisting us, was very friendly. The room was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. We really enjoyed our stay.

My only recommendation is if you can invest on non-slip rugs. Other than that, we liked everything about the place and will definitely come back. 😍

Staff was professional, friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and well presented. Secure parking close to our room.

I loved how the staff made sure that we are well take care of

Coffee station and water, bed was comfortable as well.

Toilet right in front on the bed, doesn't give one much privacy when traveling with a partner.

friendly staff, comfy bed and pillows

pictures and room we got was totally different.

I liked the environment and the establishment. The location is very quiet and not far from other places like the mall.. Love that

Location

The room was very neat and tidy. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had lots of mirrors. The aircon was a big plus, as it was really hot.

The parking is a bit of an issue, I personally don't like my vehicle to be in line of site to the road. I would have liked to book a breakfast on Saturday morning, but was told they don't serve breakfast over weekends.

I loved everything about the place, the host, she was soooo friendly, smiling alwys and available all the time, we really enjoyed our stay, the place was absolutely stunning and very spacious, Xtra blankets were provided for us. It's actually more than the money we paid

The shower, it's not well equipped, water was running into the whole bathroom.
