Beste Erfahrung. Man ist in den Dschungel eingetaucht. Würde ich allen weiterempfehlen. Eine 1000/10. William kompletter Ehrenmann
Nix !
Sara e Emanuele
The Kasaguadua Lodge is located in the middle of a natural reserve, 2 km from Salento followed by a 20 Min hike into the Jungle. Carlos provided us with detailed information about the path, what to bring and what to take care of in regards to ecotourism. The place is very unique, peaceful and we felt like in paradise. Everything was built by hand and you can feel the love and passion in every room. Carlos was an amazing host and made us feel like being a part of this community. We woke up with birds singing in the morning, had a delicious breakfast and explored the reserva.
Nothing, it was amazing. Just be aware to follow the instructions (pack light, grab rainboots and a stick)
William, one of the founders, is an incredible person: very kind, welcoming, and a real pleasure to meet. The breakfast was also delicious. Kasaguadua gave us a truly unique experience in the nature of Colombia: sleeping surrounded by the sounds of the forest and being reminded that we are only guests there. The nature excursion organized by Kasaguadua was fun and interesting, and it was led by Savi, a young, well-prepared local guide who was also a pleasure to meet. Getting to Kasaguadua at night was not easy and can become a bit tricky and challenging, especially if it is raining. The 20–30 minute path can get very muddy in some sections, so it may not be suitable for everyone. That said, I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience Salento in a different and more authentic way. At the entrance to the path, you can easily find passing Jeep Willys, and Uber can also reach that point without problems.
Even if its a wild hut the bed area could be improved a bit (its too small for two person) and some details of the hut.
- William is an amazing host, making our time in Kasaguadua magical, very good communication and organization as well - absolute nature experience, but with luxus of electricity, fully equipped kitchen, hot shower etc. - the additional tour we took with him is also very great to learn about the place, the nature etc. - don't miss on the adventure walk to the waterfall/kanyonig - very good breakfast shared with the host - as there is only place for 6 people to sleep, it feels very private (we even had the luck to be the only ones down in this magical place) - free luggage storage in town available (use it to not have to carry all your stuff down and up)
As other recommendations already note: don't underestimate the hike down and up to the camp. It takes 20 to 30 minutes on small paths in the middle of the jungle (but this is part of the experience) - the location on booking/google is the entry to the 20-30 minute walk.
In my opinion, Kasaguadua is a perfect example of getting off the beaten track. The way to Kasaguadua is quite challenging, but after hikking, you can be closer to the nature, awaken by beautiful birds singing in the morning and to be overwhelmed by beauty of the world. This place is also great because of Willy, who is so humble and open-minded to others m. It is perfect place to relax, to run away from present world.
A very good experience for those who want to feel the jungle .i was most of the time by myself and enjoyed nature.
The entrance and exit are through a narrow, steep path. There is no easy way out, so it’s not suitable for people who are not in excellent physical condition. You need to ask for the water heater to be turned on in order to shower..
Beautiful location
We loved kasaguadua, it’s a very unique accommodation! It was fascinating to learn about and see the work they put (and still do) into this amazing project. It’s very inspiring. You’re surrounded by nature and wake up with birds singing. William is super friendly and ready to help you with anything you need. He has an amazing energy and is an amazing cook! He cooked a delicious breakfast that we had together every morning, he really welcomes you into his home.
The only downside is having to walk up and down the path in the forest for 20 minutes every time you want to get somewhere and come back home. But it is also part of the experience of being surrounded by the peacefulness of nature, so it’s not really a negative point. Just be ready to hike with your backpacks the first time, and consider to arrive when there is still light to make it easier!
Estar tan poco tiempo.
You are really in the jungle, but also you have own pod with a comfy bed, hot water and comfy common spaces. Carlos is an amazing host, he'll explain everything to you about the lodge, but also will prepare really good breakfast. Just do groceries before checking in and relax being in the nature.
A really special place. Carlos is a wonderful host, generous with his time, easy to chat to and has lots of good recommendations for Salento and other parts of Colombia. It is very much in the middle of the jungle - it's a good 20-25 minute trek to get there - making it a unique experience you'll struggle to find anywhere else.
Great breakfast cooked with care (catered for vegans) and the kitchen has everything you need to make your own meals for lunch and dinner. Excellent chats with the fabulous owners, who are really inspiring. The design of the place is also super cool and regenerative - I felt I learned a lot just from being there and seeing how it all worked together. So many amazing plants and birds across the land, waking you up in the morning and accompanying throughout the day. And a bird watching book to help identify them all :) Beautiful location and super cool to be able to contribute to and be part of this sustainable tourism project. Awesome zazen meditation sessions too! One of the best and most memorable places I visited in my whole trip in Colombia. Very special indeed <3
It's a jungle, so of course the are many mosquitos. But the males help pollinate cacao and other important plants, and apparently it's only the pregnant females that sting you so they can use the iron in your blood to feed their unborn babies, so I feel less animosity towards them now. Just be careful of the other little buggers that live in the long grass - wear long clothes that cover the skin and don't sit down.
Breakfast was delicious and cooked by the host
Carlos and Willy have created something very special, that goes beyond an accommodation. Kasaguadua is an experience, in which you are exposed to a lot of new knowledge about the nature and you are given a chance to become part of the system for a few days. I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn, experience and meet our hosts. The memory of this stay will be with me for years
We truly loved our stay in Kasaguadua, the place is beautifully created with a mindset focused on sustainability. For this reason, it was perfect to disconnect from the city, learn and enjoy the nature. Carlos is a great host and an admirable person, and Luna (the cat) is super friendly. Breakfast was delicious and the facilities transmit calm. This place is perfect if you want to experience nature and you’re not looking for a 5-star hotel experience.
Amazing location - a beautiful jungle experience. Carlos and William are wonderful hosts. The breakfast was delicious and I really enjoyed the Zen meditation. Thank you!
Carlos and William were amazing hosts. They made our trip to Salento incredibly special. We feel so lucky to have been a small part of this important community. I couldn’t recommend this stay enough!
Amazing experience in the jungle - 20 min away from Salento walking We really liked our time with Carlos, and the houses are comfy- everything is natural and quite healthy
Carlos would disagree but they were a few guidelines that were misleading 😛
Staying in Kasaguadua is an experience inside the experience of Salento. This place is amazing, all was perfect and Carlos and Wili are amazing people. I highly recommend to stay here in this unique piece of paradise
All was perfect
I LOVED this place. Amazing location in the jungle. The cabin has everything you need, very comfortable, and very clean. The owner Carlos, is a wonderful human - super knowledgeable about the birds and animals around, and also a wonderful breakfast chef. We had a brilliant night tour led by Luna, the resident cat, and we paid in scritches. Sitting outside reading, listening to the bird song was the most relaxed I've felt in a weeks. I adored this place and cannot wait to go back. It's also only ten minutes and 2,000 pesos from town.
I didn't like having to leave :(
Unique place in the middle of the nature and Willy the co owner of the place was amazing and of great service.
Beware that the path to access the property is a little long.
Kasaguada is a beautiful, peaceful place surrounded by nature. I loved chatting with Carlos, who is an absolute gem of a person. He and Willy are excellent hosts. The hike down to the lodge is a bit of an adventure the first time but that adds to the fun. And once you’ve done it once it feels quite simple. Do make sure to wear your hiking boots and only bring what you need, though - they conveniently provide a place in town for you to store your extra things (the people there are also incredibly nice).
This is a unique stay in an absolutely extraordinary natural reserve. Everything is thought out and Willy (who welcomed us) was just so hospitable. The breakfast is also delicious. We could not recommend this more, and to support their brilliant conservation efforts with a donation as the price is extremely reasonable. Thank you!!
Nothing !!
This is a very special place, run by very special people. I absolutely loved it! It's much better than staying in busy Salento and you can still do the same activities. You just have to factor in the 20-min walk up the hill. From the road, it's very easy to find (public) transportation into town. The location of Kasaguadua is also ideal for visiting the coffee fincas. You can easily walk there. And there's a great little restaurant with beautiful views very close to the entrance of the nature reserve. I'm so glad I stayed there. Next time I'll stay for a week!
The cat in the main building isn't ideal for people like me, who are allergic. But obviously, the poor thing also needs a place to stay. During the day, with the windows open, it was OK. Also, she doesn't go into the pods. Just be aware and take the necessary precautions.
Fantastic place to stay a couple of nights deep in the forest. Not far from various coffee fincas offering tours if you don't mind a 30 minute walk. William was an incredible host, from the moment we arrived his energetic, infectious positivity made us feel immensely welcome. He cooked a tasty breakfast each morning and we spent the evenings chatting (he is very knowledgeable about all local activities, fincas, bus options for onward travel etc.) and drumming. His humour and company is honestly one of the best things about this place! The cabins are cute and comfortable, and the main house is beyond stunning, we weren't prepared for it when we arrived, honestly the pictures don't give away how uniquely designed and beautiful it is. The kitchen is the best we have had access to so far on our travels, the living space is comfortable, they even have a movie room and a large selection of DVDs if you fancy a movie night!
Everything was perfect.
Wonderful calm lodge in the middle of nature, with everything you need to relax. William was an excellent host who was eager to share information about the area, for example where to go for a good coffee tour. You can hike around the lodge to a nearby river and see some animals. Our hut was small but sufficient and clean. The kitchen is very well equipped and they provide a lot of things to do, like books, a tv with Netflix, a chess game and drums to make music.
Location and setting are amazing and staff were wonderful. Be sure to take a guided tour of the property and to one of the nearby coffee plantations.
Like much of columbia, the mattresses are very firm
Everything! Amazing place that proofs that nature conservation can go hand in hand with an awesome experience for guests. The huts are beautiful and very luxurious if one considers that the place lies in the heart of 12ha of nature reserve. Awesome breakfast, and Carlos, William and Cesar are highly knowledgeable, passionate, and friendly. Super experience
Nothing. Important that people realize it is a 20min walk to the place through vegetation though!
Kasaguada blew our minds. It's located in the midst of the cloud forest and requires a hike to get there, which we thoroughly enjoyed as it added to the sense of adventure. Willy was there to help us from the day we checked in and was exceptionally friendly and amazing, despite our language barriers. We stayed in the chalet with the built in kitchen which was fully equipped and wonderful. The main lounge area (we'll call it the treehouse) was SO cool. It's amazing that this place was built from scratch and we'd definitely recommend anyone visiting in Salento to make time to visit Kasaguada!
If we're being picky it would be nice for the beds to come with mosquito nets as we got quite a few bites. But, we anticipated this could happen being in the middle of the forest!
Amazing location in the middle of the jungle. Beautiful and cosy ecological lodge. Carlos was a great host !
Everything was great ! 5 stars
Very special and unique stay in a nature reserve. Lots of great facilities and Carlos and William are always on hand to help with anything. The host, Carlos, was super friendly, kind and informative. Highly recommend.
unique, right in the jungle, and very nice staff.
no I’m itself a bad thing, but should be noted that from Salento, this place is 10-15 mins in cap + 20 minutes of walk in the jungle.
If you are in Salento you need to come stay here. My boyfriend and I have never done biotourism before and this was such an amazing first experience. Carlos was the best host we could ever ask for and was super accommodating during our stay. We took his tour and learned so much about the land and we got a crash course on how to be more mindful towards the environment. Overall everything was better than what we could have imagined, the rooms were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything you needed to cook a nice meal, and all the knowledge we gained was irreplaceable. We even joined Carlos in mediation in the mornings with him which was an extra special treat. Thank you so much Carlos for such a wonderful stay and all of your help. And also getting to know Luna the cat!!
we loved our stay at kasaguadua. Carlos is an exceptional host and it was a amazing experience all round. we stayed 3 nights and could have much easily stayed longer. we took part in the tour which gave us a background and purpose to the place. there is a great restaurant and also a cafe and coffee farm up the road. the kitchen and facilities are amazing. Luna 🐈 was also the best cat I have met on my travels.
nothing
amazing location and beautifully setting, Carlos is a great guy!
i wasnt there for longer
The Kasaguadua Ecolodge is beautifully located in the middle of the jungle. Carlos is doing an excellent job of conservation of the forest whilst also being a great host to his guests
Staying at Kasaguadua was an absolute highlight of our trip! Carlos is the most hospitable and welcoming host and made us feel at home. He also taught us a lot about conservation, meditation, history, rtc. The facilities were also great and really clean.
Wow what an adventure staying here! The walk to the hostel was so cool, and the common room was large and very relaxed to spend time in. The owner, Carlos, was really friendly and helped us with everything we needed including guidance about the local area. There is also a meditation building on the property and I was able to join Carlos for that. The small pods were very small but comfortable (and lots of storage under the bed) and it was great hearing the noises of the forest while falling asleep.
Nothing, just make sure to read the information like about the long walk to the property (15-20 minutes). The path is very steep and narrow, but totally doable even with big backpacks.
Absolutely gorgeous location in the forest. The sleeping units are beautifully built amd comfortable. Carlos and Wili were exceptional hosts and made us feel like we had arrived at a home from home. Even if the weather isn't always perfect for hiking, the communal area is perfect for relaxing, reading and cooking. Thank you!
Carlos was an absolute gem! So much energy to give us information on so many topics. We found it all fascinating and learnt a lot. His generosity in sharing his very beautiful kitchen and living room with guests.
We had a lot of rain but of course it is the cloud forest so to be expected.
To start, just read the instructions (booking e-mail) from Carlos carefully and you should be fine. You will arrive after a 20 min walk trough the jungle at a unique stay. The cabins and the shared facility’s are beautiful and carefully designed by Carlos and Willy. Both really nice and friendly people with so much to tell. We learned a lot about Colombia, nature and more. Thanks again for everything Carlos, Willy and Luna🐈.
The Eco Lodge Kasaguadua is a very special place in the middle of the jungle, you feel like home the place itself is soooo nice and beautiful! Carlos and Willy are beautiful people, warm hearts, the breakfast that Carlos Is making Is also really good! The walk in the forest is really nice and peaceful. The bed are confy! I recommend 100%
A truly unique experience in the middle of the cloud forest outside Salento. Carlos and Wili are both very nice, and will make you feel at home. It is recommended to get the tour with Carlos, he is very knowledgeable and passionate and it will give a deeper understanding of the cloud forest and sustainability. Also, it’s located very close to some of the coffee tours around Salento.
Everything was wonderful: the lodge, lost in the jungle, our host Carlos, the room.. The place was so peaceful. I recommend 100%. Thanks again Carlos!
Nothing
Carlos was such an amazing host. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, we really got away from our "Austrian thinking", as Carlos would say.😁 It basically means that we got decelerated by the surrounding nature. The highlight was by far the house jaguar Luna!
