the hostel is near the beach and near the bus stop. the connection inside the hostel was good and fast, overall very good.

I was woken up early by music though, but that was just because someone was being disrespectful towards the others sleeping.

The location is perfect, a bit away from the noisy main street, but close enough to everything by foot (the town is super small anyway); The hostel has a huge common area which is perfect for meeting people, relaxing, or remote working if you need to, as they have excellent Wi-Fi in the common area and in the rooms; They also have a kitchen for guests, shared with the owner's family; Luca, the owner, was an extremely friendly and interesting Italian guy, and super kind to all people who come for a visit (the common area was always sociable for everyone, which is amazing!); It's got the real hostel vibe!!

Only reminder (not the hostel's problem) - there're a lot of mosquitos here as it's a beach town, so remember to put on repellent.

Està ben situat i permet visitar Las Galeras. Vam poder aparcar el cotxe a dins. El wifi funciona molt bé!

Hi ha personal molt maco, però la benvinguda no va ser el que esperàvem, ja que una senyora ens va atendre de males maneres.

Dorm room a bit stuffy and cramped, but not a big deal as it is good enough for sleeping. You will spend most the time outside anyways.

Appartamento grande e spazioso. Ottima la posizione dell'alloggiamento, a pochi passi dai locali,de Las Galeras, dalla bellissima Playta e da Playa Grande. Luca molto dispoinibile, amabile e attento (gran chiaccherone !).

La buena atención de Lucca, estuvo preocupado por sentirnos bien como en casa. Nos ayudo a conseguir el tour que queríamos, y siempre estuvo pendiente de sentirnos cómodos. Además, excelente wifi, nos hospedamos en lo más alto del Hostal y llegaba muy bien la señal. Está cerca a la zona turística de las Galeras y del Bus que te lleva a Santo Domingo de regreso.

El check in es muy temprano, teniendo en consideración que el check out es 3pm.

Très bonne ambiance, le wifi marche super bien et l'hôte Luka est très sympathique.

Les toilettes et les douches sont à l'extérieur.

Accueil impeccable, le gérant prend le temps de tout expliquer dans les détails concernant le fonctionnement de l'hostel. La chambre était impeccable, munie d'un ventilateur et d'un moustiquaire pour chaque lit. La localisation était parfaite, à quelques minutes de la plage et des activités.

- Great place, Luca is a great host (and very interesting human being) and there's also a few volunteers around, always with good vibes. - The space is great, big and clean, with a fully equipped kitchen and very well located. - Beaches around are unbelievably perfect. Next level!

- Checkout at 10AM is tight. Fortunately they let you use the common spaces for a while afterwards. - There's an old woman around, mostly in the kitchen, who's always grumpy and complaining about everything. Sending her healing & positive vibes, might she find the inner peace in her life. Same as with the mosquitoes, nothing the hostel is responsible of!

De gastheer was erg aardig en we hadden en privekamer geboekt, welke zich kennelijk bevond in de gemeenschappelijke hostel ruimte. Dit was niet helemaal zoals we hadden verwacht maar we hebben een update gekregen, dus dat was snel geregeld.

Het was allemaal wat oud en vervallen. Ik zou alles even opfrissen en vernieuwen. Je moet niet met privékamers adverteren als die zich in een openbare ruimte bevinden. Duidelijk aangeven, want we kregen daarna wel een privekamer en deze was goed. Het was wat onhygiënisch en niet af. Maak er een mooi hostel van, dan heb je veel potentie. Er zijn namelijk weinig hostels overal.

Atmosfera speciale, ottima posizione, Luca il proprietario, lo staff locale e i volontari sempre gentili, disponibili, accoglienti e sempre pronti a scambiare due parole. Ti fanno sentire come a casa. Prenoti per qualche notte ma le vibes di questo posto sono talmente buone che rimani sempre qualche giorno in più. Senza dubbio il primo posto in cui prenoterò quando tornerò in RD 🫶🏻

La wifi est au top contrairement à la plupart des établissements. Je ne parle pas espagnol et ait été super bien accueilli. Merci !

Estábamos en habitación privada que esa si es linda, limpia y al tener baño privado estábamos muy cómoda.

La ducha del baño estaba rota, había que sostener el duchador para bañarse. No siempre salía caliente el agua. Las áreas comunes estaban un poco descuidas. La cocina no te invitaba a quedarte a cenar ahí, estaba sucia, los trapos también muy sucios. Si le prestaran un poco de atención a esas cuestiones el lugar mejoraría mucho.

Me encanto la decoracion los muebles de mimbre los colores azul y lavanda , es un lugar especial

accueil plutot sympathique et souriant. merci francesca et martha logement bien situe par rapport au centre ville et a un peu plus d 1 km de la playita.

un manque flagrant d intimité, la moindre parole d un occupant d une autre chambre et on entend tout, des sanitaires en desuetude. une cuisine commune avec des ustensiles tres, trop vieux. Le bruit comme d habitude en RD. Et cerise sur le gateau, une caution de 500 pesos pour un cadenas minable car la chambre n a pas de serrure. En France, nous appelons cela des vendeurs de sommeil.

Cama desconfortável. Travesseiro improvisado uma espuma, horrível. Muito pernilongo dia e noite. Banheiros fora da acomodação, desconfortável. Chuveiro frio e sem lugar para pendurar as roupas. O espaço é um galpão grande com quartos divididos com paredes finas de madeira, privacidade zero. Muito apertado, uma cama em cima da outra, sem espaço. Certa noite ouvimos um casal tendo intimidades. Péssimo! Esponjas de lavar louça em péssimo estado. Uma senhora, mãe do dono, muito sem educação! Nos trata como se estivéssemos de favor, nos empurrava enquanto estávamos na cozinha, limpava o nariz com os panos de pratos sujos da cozinha. Algumas voluntárias se sentiam muito mal por conta dos maus tratos desta senhora e, nada é feito. Localização é razoável, mas eu não indico e não voltaria.

Great wifi that allowed me to work without any interruptions.

The mosquito nets had holes in them so I constantly had to spray myself at night. The kitchen really needs some TLC.

Me encantó absolutamente todo. El personal es increíble, te hacen sentir parte desde el primer momento, con una calidez y hospitalidad que realmente marcan la diferencia. Gracias Ana, Miguel, Marcial, Rodrigo y Karen por ser todos tan amables. La limpieza es impecable, las instalaciones son muy cómodas y cuidadas, y las opciones de tours y actividades están muy bien organizadas. Además, organizan actividades como hogueras o clases de bachata que generan un ambiente muy lindo entre los huéspedes, lo que hace la experiencia aún más especial. La ubicación también es ideal, muy cerca de la playa. Sin duda volvería y ojalá me hubiera podido quedar más tiempo

Deben tener cuidado con la señora si van a durar muchos dias hospedados aqui. Ya que es bien incomodo utilizar la cocina cuando ella está en el alrededor (lo cual es siempre)

L'hostel est bien situé, c'est convivial. La chambre sur le toit était vraiment sympa avec une belle vue. Les volontaires étaient adorables.

La douche m'est restée dans les mains le premier jour. Ce serait super d'avoir un peu d'eau chaude. Nous avons pu nous faire à manger mais pas toujours dans les meulleurs conditions avec la mama qui surveille tout.

Wir haben in einem privaten Zimmer mit Bad und Terrasse übernachtet. Es war sehr sauber und großräumig. Das gesamte Personal war sehr freundlich und ordentlich, von Putzpersonal bis hin zu den Volunteers und Luca. In dem Hostel gab es Ansprechpartner auf unter anderem Deutsch. Die Küche hat das nötigste und es gibt kostenloses Trinkwasser. Die Lage war gut. Man wird herzlich begrüßt und herumgeführt, alles ist ganz locker, sodass man sich wirklich wohl fühlt.

Die Lage des Hotels ist äußerst praktisch; Restaurants, Geschäfte und der Strand sind bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Hotel bietet Familienzimmer, Einzelzimmer, Doppelzimmer und Gruppenzimmer im Hostelstil. Im Hotel wird Englisch, Spanisch, Italienisch und Deutsch gesprochen. Der Besitzer, Luca, ist unglaublich hilfsbereit und unterstützt seine Gäste bei allen Fragen rund um die Unterkunft, auch bei der Erkundung der Umgebung. Die Zimmer sind groß und sauber, und das Hotel verfügt über einen Garten und eine Terrasse mit herrlicher Aussicht. Ich kann es wärmstens empfehlen.🇩🇪Ertan Aus Hamburg

La ubicación es súper buena

Hay mucho mosquito la habitación individual tiene buen espacio pero cero privacidad , la mamá del caballero un horror está con mala cara todo el día mirando feo

A great budget-friendly place if you’re looking for affordable accommodation. The mosquito nets on the beds are absolutely essential here and a big plus, as well as the towels. The owner and the volunteers are very kind and welcoming. Overall, a simple and good option for budget travelers.

I stayed in a 6-bed dorm, but all the dorms are under the same roof in one large hall, so sound (for example loud snoring) carries between rooms. Because of this, it was difficult to get proper sleep. Something to keep in mind if you plan to stay here. Also, one staff member (owner’s wife maybe?) was very rude, which unfortunately created an unwelcoming atmosphere during the stay.

Wifi très bon pour travailler, permet de faire des appels vidéo sans problème.

Lhote est vraiment très sympathique, un accueil très chaleureux. Il prend le temps de vous expliquer les choses et de faire au mieux.. Une excellente WiFi.

Bruyant et manque un peu de confort pour le prix pas de plafond ( box), très peu d'intimité.

1. El hostel es espacioso tiene muchas áreas comunes, siempre están limpias y ordenadas. 2. La habitación igual es limpia y tiene lugares para colocar pertenencias. Tienen un mosquitero que ayuda con los zancudos, igual recomiendo colocarse repelente. La cama es cómoda. Ten en cuenta que las habitaciones están dentro de un área común por lo que todo lo que hagas se escucha. 3. Su internet es muy bueno, es veloz y nunca se fue. Tiene buena conexión en todo el lugar. 4. En el área de convivencia hay juegos, música y puedes integrarte con otros huéspedes de otras partes del mundo. En general el personal fue muy amable y el lugar coincide con la descripción. El dueño siempre está disponible para brindarte ayuda y explicarte cosas. La atención es muy buena. Agradecida porque inclusive nos entregaron la habitación antes, ya que llegamos temprano, y siempre hubo buena disposición por parte del personal. Excelente estancia para un corto tiempo.

Unos puntos a mejorar son las duchas y baños. Les falta un poco de iluminación e implementos. Solo hay una botellita de jabón, que aveces la encuentras en la ducha otra en el tocador. En uno de los baños la luz no funcionaba bien. De igual manera tanto el baño como la ducha funcionan bien y tienen buena presión de agua.

Luca che gestisce la struttura, è veramente molto disponibile e preparato, sa dare consigli e indicazioni con simpatia e professionalità, carina la possibilita di avere alcune camerette singole nel grande locale comune... E la cucina con acqua da bere a disposizione...

La musica che mi ha fatto usare i tappi... Per dormire

2 nights. The tower room (top of the building) is amazing with its private terrace , lots of space and bathroom (3 meters away if it rains ! So no big deal) Book in advance if you wanna Park your car inside the property cause it s kinda tight for two cars. If not,Parking in the street is no pb. The kitchen (bit dark) was pretty convenient for our breakfast (better if the grumpy moody lady is not around! Hahha) Staff is nice and helpful.

Our shower beeing higher up missed pressure but it didn’t bother us. If needed shared showers are downstairs. Even though it s not on the main road i always advice having earplugs in DR, in case the motorcycles and roosters are a bit too active. But the fan in the room once ON covers pretty much all noises.

El ambiente era todo lo que está bien, sencillo pero, con una calidez necesaria para pasar y conocer gente chévere.

Que no hayan políticas en relación al ruido en horarios de descanso de los huéspedes, que en su día hicieron tour o trekking o excursiones durante todo el día y se necesita descansar.

Excelente atención de los voluntarios y de Lucca. Excelente conexión a internet en todo el establecimiento. Si eres trabajador remoto, este es el lugar! Aparte está muy cerca de la playa, restaurantes y minimercados. La cama muy cómoda.

Limpieza de baño y cocina puede mejorar. La cocina requiere inversión en implementos y menaje en general. No me sentí cómodo con el trato de una señora de edad que vive allí. Su forma de mirar a las personas, y de pedir las cosas a los huéspedes no es nada adecuada. Ni siquiera responde al saludo.

Las instalaciones son comodas teniendo en cuenta precio calidad. El wifi andaba 10 puntos. Luca es un gran anfitrion, te hace sentir como en casa

El dpto. Era muy amplio y cómodo! Y en la cocina podías cargar agua potable.

Luca es muy atento y servicial nos ayudó con indicaciones, mantiene su hostal muy limpio, el ambiente es agradable.

El hostal esta muy bien ubicando, a 10 minutos de playa Galeras y la playita. El anfitrion es muy amable y está pendiente de los huéspedes.

Estuvo bien. La cocina era compartida con los dueños del lugar y a veces me podía sentir cohibida al compartir este lugar, pero estuvo bien.

Tremendous Wifi, staff were super friendly, and the owner Luca will do everything possible to make sure you have an amazing stay!

The owner's wife is frequently around and always seems to be in a bad mood or complaining about something. She brings down the vibe a little bit.

The location was great. Walkable to the main street and beach but tucked away so nice and quiet. The rooms were cozy, but be aware there are no rooves on the rooms so they are private in terms of walls but not private in terms of sounds between all the guests. There weren't many people staying there when we went so it was quiet but I imagine if it was full it would feel like you were rooming with everyone.

Unfortunately the partner of Luca was rude to guests (not just us) while in the kitchen. It really effected our enjoyment of the stay and our desire to be in the kitchen at all.

Very kind and helpful hosts, you may feel like in home here. It’s in calm and peaceful localization, staying there was an unique experience, just like sleeping in a jungle ;) Besides, the place offer you many amenities and it’s a good value for money

Facilities are very good and complete, bedrooms are surprising due to the shape of the building and the construction but I liked it There is protection for mosquitoes which is definitely necessary Beaches and restaurants are super close by the hostel There is towels which is a big + Luca the owner is a sweetheart

We had such a lovely experience! The location was perfect - close to the main street of Las Galeras and just a few minutes away from the beach. The staff was lovely, everything was perfect, we would definitely recommend this place and hope to come back soon :)

A cute place in las Galeras. There are semi individual rooms i think i would book that eventhough since it is in a big kinda shed with no roof between the different rooms, when people speak you hear them. Take earplugs and eye mask because it get clear early. But when i stayed in the dorm one of the guest was snoring like crazy and even with earplugs or music i could still hear him. That is why i advise to take the individual "rooms" because I dont think it is much more expensive. The volunteers were sweethearts. There is a Ping-pong table and places to hang out. It is 2 min away from the bus. But there is no loud music from the parties going around which is important if you value your sleep a bit. It is a 10 or 15 min walk from an amazing beach. I met cool people there and had great talk with them.

There is a kitchen but it hard to use it because the owner's mum is watching your every moves and treating you like you are 7 (i am 40 but she did that with 50 or 55 year old women as well). She cooks during hours and does not let you use the "good" pan and you have to use to rotten carcinogenic one. And if you get a little firm with her she gets really pissy and says bad stuff in italian. It was a bit stressful to witness and the vibe was more relaxed when she was not there. The owners, her son is really nice though. And when you get her in a good mood, she is ok and will give you cooking tips. If you seen the Sopranos, she really reminded me of Tony Soprano's mum. Oh yeah... they lock the kitchen at night.... with a lock so if you get hungry during the night (i obviously would not cook during the night but grab something from the fridge becausei tend to have insomnia and eating something helps me get back to sleep...well too bad).

Very nice place, with a very friendly staff. Good location, very close to the center and the beach, but in a quiter area, not by the main road.

The rooms have an open roof with a common roof covering all of them. So basically you can hear everything from the other rooms. Still, it was quite quiet, so actually not a problem for me. There was hot water in the shower but it needed the owner to fix something to make the heater working. It broke again after a few minutes.
