Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The hotel and staff exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful hotel, centrally located, that we would highly recommend
Mooie ruime kamers. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Auto staat in overdekte parking onder continu toezicht.
Location, location, location! Cleanliness, spacious room, responsive staff
Breakfast! It was more American than Mexican, mostly bland and somewhat boring. Even the coffee was consistently weak, as was the hot chocolate. When we are in Mexico, we expect good Mexican food. There were good restaurants all around Oaxaca. Holiday inn needs to upgrade theirs

Nothing.
Overall excellent
My stay at the Holiday Inn Express was wonderful. The staff was very friendly, from housekeeping to the breakfast team. The breakfast was amazing, and I truly enjoyed it. I am very grateful for the staff’s hospitality, and I made sure to tip several people as a thank you. I would definitely come back again!
Habitaciones cómodas y buen mobiliario.
Hora de entrada un poco tarde.
Only stayed one night but the room was very spacious and bed was so comfy. Would consider staying again
Good place to dtay
Property was okay but kind of far to move around with to zocalo site oh there was no fridge in the room very important
Clean, quiet, well maintained. Traveling alone, I chose the basic, more moderate priced room. It was spacious, well furnished, and comfortable. Included breakfast was great, and the staff invariably courteous and helpful.
La comodidad y la ubicación
Que no hay room service
Beautiful place ,super clean and all the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Professional all time we was there, anything we need from them they would some how get us the answers. Will for sure be coming back to holiday inn Oaxaca Mexico. Keep up the great hospitality and joblessness.
Very well-maintained property with polite staff. This hotel is walkable to most Oaxaca Centro tourist and shopping attractions. Our room was comfortable, clean and well appointed. Buffet breakfast has good choices of fresh fruits, hot eggs, and local breakfast dishes.
The location was good and the room a good size. The bed was comfortable but the furniture was quite dated. The room and bathroom were clean. There was no fridge in the room and the aircon was old and noisy and would drip water after it was on for a while. The breakfast was quite poor in terms of the hot offer. The hotel had no bar or real social area so lacked any atmosphere. For 160 euros a night it was not value for money!
Great breakfast, Great staff, awesome pool!
Great service, clean rooms and nice employees
Really nice location for Oaxaca City. Was there with my friends and family, and we had a great time. Very clean! Thanks to the cleaning staff. Walked around at night and felt super safe. Loved that everything you could need is nearby.
Good breakfast and restaurants are nearby for dinner.
The staff was excellent and the hotel/rooms were very clean. One opportunity for improvement are fridges in the rooms. The staff was willing to put things in their fridge but it's not convenient to get dressed and go down to the front desk for your left over pizza or meds at 10PM.
Excellent hotel and close by to many attractions
You can believe the high ratings! Traveling for work internationally, excellent reasonably-priced hotels are increasingly rare. Kudos to the 4-star housekeeping, kitchen & reception staff who all made for a great week's stay, especially the gentleman who repaired my suitcase handle. Appreciated the comfortable bed, traditional sink & coat hangers which made washing out clothes easy, good temperature control, no-nonsense TV, coffeemaker, phone, water bottles, & blackout drapes. One night the nightclub nearby was very loud. It'd be great to have screens on the windows & to replace carpet with flooring washable between guests. A concern was communication regarding taxi to airport. I was told the taxis they'd call all took credit cards. I double checked with driver who confirmed that. Midway to the airport, he had to stop to wait for another driver to show up to swipe my card. That guy wanted to add a 20% commission which I refused. I made it to the airport on time. But all that shouldn't happen trusting the hotel's selection of drivers.
Location, staff, breakfast, being able to store luggage, room cleaning, front desk support was good
We got a recently renovated room. Absolutely no complains. Room looked so nice and neat. Very polite and helpful staff throughout the hotel.
Everything is very close. It's easy to find everything you need to enjoy the most important places.
Property is old and needs renovation. The carpet in the hallways and in the rooms is old and needs to be replaced. On our last day we witnessed staff painting the carpet in the hallways. The hotel lacks ventilation in the long hallways; therefore, we had to walk in a hurry to avoid the smell fresh paint.
Simple clean hotel in convenient location i Oaxaca, great value. My kid went in the pool everyday and breakfast was good!
Hotel was very clean, rooms were nice size. Excellent customer service. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Great hotel in a convenient location. Decent breakfast. Nice swimming pool.
Check-in was straightforward, staff was helpful, it’s not the Ritz Carlton, but it was spacious, Clean and comfortable.
I liked the location, breakfast, and the over all good service the staff provided
Todo
Great place to stay in Central Oaxaca. Friendly staff, good breakfast and comfortable room.
I liked the location
Great breakfast, very clean. Staff was great.
I spent 4 nights here at the start of a 2-week trip and one night at the end. Centrally-located with easy, walking access to all of the sights, restaurants, museums, and markets in central Oaxaca, including the Jardín Etnobotánico de Oaxaca, Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán, and the Catedral Metropolitan de Oaxaca. Everything is clean — from the rooms, to the lobby, to the pool — the breakfast tastes wonderful, and the staff are welcoming and happy to help in a variety of languages. A great location to experience Oaxaca
We like the area and the hotel .
Breakfast was great! Will b back
Staff and cleanliness. Excellent breakfast
We loved our room and had a view of the north mountains from it; we were in the junior suite and it was spacious and well-appointed. The breakfast was ample and good; the pool enjoyable. The hot tub/spa was not working or they just keep it cool because it was cool and the jets are not typical and indirect. Otherwise, the place is wonderful and in a great, quiet neighborhood near the park... The hotel staff was great; the front desk people could use a better grasp of directions and recommendations for what is where and where to go, etc.
Good breakfast, walkable to the Zocala & restaurants.
Very clean and comfortable. Great location

The breakfast was good. I had yogurt and fruit . My husband had eggs and bacon and fruit. He enjoyed his
It was great - no complaints
This hotel was recommended by a friend because it was close to the city center. We loved being able to easily walk to so many beautiful places. The breakfast was decent with hot and cold choices and a Mexican flair.
Very good everything
Nice hotel. Room nice. Pool ok but too shallow Breakfast was nice but the dining room too tiny. Only half the guests could sit inside. The other half were outside. And it was pretty cold first thing on a morning. There was space in reception area. For more tables. Luckily I got a table inside for the two of us Tour groups are on a fixed schedule. There were two coach tours in. So should realise if they departed at 8. Breakfast only starts at 7. Then it’s going to be chaos with up to 60 people all wanting to eat. Plus guests not with the two coach parties
Stayed as part of tour, and it was the best hotel we stayed at on the trip including (presumably) more expensive ones. Hotel looked a bit shabby from outside, but was immaculate inside and the room was clean and good size--there was a comfortable sofa in addition to the bed. Two bottles of water were provided daily, plus there was a convenience store on the block of the hotel. A number of restaurants within short walking distance, and strolling to the center of Oaxaca was easy and pleasant. Felt safe at night. Staff was friendly and helpful. The included breakfast wasn't particularly good compared to other places we stayed at on the trip (mostly packaged stuff), but it compared with Holiday Inn Expresses we've stayed in in the U.S. Hotel had a heated outdoor pool. Very nice.
Everything was great.
The hotel is in the historic district you can walk to parks, plenty of restaurants and its safe, as long as you are not a crazy gringo....
We stayed here for several nights after arriving from Puerto Escondido. The location is perfect for tourism and has access by foot to everything- the ethno-botanical garden, the San Pablo cultural center, the excellent museum of Oaxacan culture, and of course the fantastic restaurants. Our room was lovely and large, bright and airy with a good night sleep and a clean bathroom. Breakfast was really good and the whole experience was very positive. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
Great place to stay. I would stay here again.
Fantastic quiet location, clean and great service. I particularly enjoyed the self parking as I rented car to tour the surrounding towns and attractions.
Excelente lugar para estar te sientes como en casa y disfrutando de sus ricos chilaquiles Deliciosos
Amazing location with great services. Kudos to the staff, they make the difference
Our room, a suite was dull with dreary and inadequate lighting and decor was tired. The bed was huge and comfortable and the bathroom worked fine so the 2 most important things worked. Poor soundproofing so we could hear dogs barking and children screaming in nearby rooms. Breakfast was adequate. Helpful staff but this was a disappointment. I know it’s a Holiday Inn but the reviews had suggested it was out of the ordinary. It wasn’t.
Pretty good hotel. 10 minutes walk from the centre of town if you turn right out of the front door. 5 minutes away from an Oxxo convenience store just over the main road if you turn left. Rooms clean and beds very comfortable. Ground floor dining area is very compact and not ideal for large groups but spills out into the lobby and outside and works pretty well. We enjoyed our stay.
Perfectly located. Breakfast was exceptionally good. Staff super friendly. Cleanliness perfect. Very quiet. Room air conditioner terrific.
Nothing. Liked everything
Safe
Property was great! Five out of five that this hotel was excellent because everything felt great. Bathroom was great with hot water and the breakfast buffet was excellent. If your look to book a hotel in Oaxaca, this is the place and will not forget it.
Clean, spacious rooms Friendly, attentive staff Beautiful pool area Great location and the best breakfast bar ever!
.
Staff was very friendly. Quick and easy check-in. Excellent location.
Great experience. Service was very good. Rooms very clean and in good condition. Breakfast was good.
The breakfast was great the pool was beautiful location was perfect the room is very clean and comfortable
I don't know why hotels don't allow guests to put the TV on closed caption and to change the language. or use their personal Netflix account.
The whole staff was amazing, but particularly the ladies at the front desk, the room service cleaning crew and the employees who took care of our rental car in the parking garage every day! Very kind and very professional!
The hotel is in a great location, away from the hustle and bustle of the city center but close enough to walk to everything. The breakfast staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the city and places to visit and things to do.
Personal super Friendly's especially the ladies helps guess with the continental breakfast.
Breakfast was not so good in variety of food but the fruit was excellent.
The coffee was not good.
Good location. Good stay. It includes a decent breakfast. Friendly staff. Pretty building but very basic installation. No weight gym and towels and toilet paper low quality
I liked that it had a pool and the location was perfect for Dia de Los muertos!
I booked it thinking it had a hot tub, but it’s a jacuzzi and doesn’t get hot at all. Bummer.
Are room the air conditioner wasn't working
Location was good , and staff were friendly
Rock music (ie : queen , Iron Maiden) in lobby and cafetería all day—-a bit much—
Staff was very friendly and quick to answer!
