Superb breakfast, plenty of choice
Although we only stayed one night, our experience was very good, the surroundings like the waterways museum and canal locks were very pleasing. Staff were very pleasant, our evening meal and breakfast were superb, James on the front desk was very professional, I booked in myself leaving my wife in the car as she’s disabled, once booked in I brought her in in her wheelchair, later I came to the front desk to book an evening meal in the restaurant and James said he’d noticed my wife’s condition and went on to explain the evacuation procedure for her in detail and her ability to deal with this, which I thought was very professional
Staff all excellent, breakfast good and staff charming. I felt welcomed and hosted
I was surprised by the local environment which seemed a bit neglected. Hopefully it is an area which is on the up.
Staff nice Spacious room Free parking Always clean with very cheerful cleaners doing a brilliant job Nice breakfast
I had to throw my food in the bin and that broke my heart as they didn’t have a microwave and the staff said because of cross contamination I can’t use theirs. I have stay at other holiday inns and this has never been an issue. It’s 2026 I never imagined microwaves should be an issue..
Good choice with cereals fruits etc, pastry and cooked breakfast.
Nothing
Lovely place, nice surroundings and value for money. Staff really nice and friendly
Nothing really, just the pillows were firm on the bed, but everything else was perfect
Staff were friendly.
Room was comfortable and functional.
I arrived late evening when it was getting dark, felt a little unsafe walking from overflow car park to the hotel but could have been me just be jumpy.
Every member of staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. Hotel was clean and well-kept. We received a warm welcome with thoughtful extras for the kids. Check in was quick and easy. Room was comfy, clean and in good condition. Evening meal was lovely, and breakfast exceptional. Hotel was quiet and well-located for Chester Zoo, Blue Planet and Cheshire Oaks.
No complaints at all.
All the staff were very polite and friendly nothing was to much trouble, made my disabled daughter feel very relaxed
Swimming pool and the breakfasts
All of it
Location, views, swimming pool for family and breakfast is always good.
I couldn’t screen mirror my device to the TV. And no sky sports options. No charging port in middle between the beds.
Area near by the lake . My kids love feeding the ducks.
At that time they doing some work outside the building
Comfortable bed, bar area was nice, friendly staff
Tap water smelt off and didn't taste nice. Room 122. Tv remote didn't work
Friendly, helpful staff and excellent breakfast.
Kids loved the by the water location. Was nice to eat breakfast by view of the canal.
Nothing to dislike
The staff were exceptional !! Polite, extremely helpful, chatty and just the best!!
Not too much to explore locally, but that was okay - we had a car
Fantastic breakfast with lots of choice. We ate our evening meals both nights and enjoyed all the food but the service was another level. The staff could not do enough. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome.
No complaints
Near Chester zoo. Staff were excellent
No shops etc around the hotel. It was outdated, but currently being updated. Beds far too soft
Loved everything. The customer service was 2nd to none
There was nothing I didn't like
24 hr bar breakfast
Being a wheelchair user easy accessible and location as I was attending an event nearby lovely watching the canal boats passing by
The lift was a little small and especially when coming out onto the floor for my bedroom
The room was lovely and clean and the staff were friendly!
Nothing :)
Location by the canal, fantastic breakfast friendly atmosphere
Very helpful and friendly staff . Food was lovely. Breakfast good dinner was very good .
Location. Parking.
Food in the restaurant. Being told incorrect information about the swimming pool's availability.

Amazing comfy beds. Friendly, helpful staff - who went out of their way to assist.
No bottle opener in the room.
Good location, clean rooms. Most of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
The leisure centre is really run down and grubby. Needs a whole refurb.
It's very convenient to motorway and local to my final destination have used this hotel regularly
Great staff. Nice leisure facilities. Breakfast and Dinner both good. Nice location and handy for local attractions. Great for kids.
Carpet in room needs a good deep clean.
A brilliant stay the only down side was the size of the swimming pool. We thought it was bigger than it was. Besides this we will definitely be returning
Clean, modern and functional

Work men, working on the building. Only informed whilst in transit to the hotel. Car covered In debris. Overpaid for the stay.
The price! To expensive for the stay.
Fantastic location.
The only negative about the Travelodge was no air con.
Pleasant staff on check in and location good for our requirements
The site is scruffy and feels unloved - scaffolding in place and was advised prior to our stay but the rest of the exterior areas could be better - Having to walk in through a whole pile of smokers so maybe move the smoking area ?

Great location, hotel lovely and clean, staff were great, lovely views of the canal and boats. I will add a cleaner went above and beyond for my daughter with her teddies and that made her day!
Great location for Cheshire Oakes. Nicely tucked away so very quiet
The river
There was dead flies on the bed
staff friendly, room clean, very quiet in hotel when in bed, breakfast was lush plenty to chose from, afternoon very nice, early check in was great, nice having the canal outside

The location and it felt like home
Great location with great amenities. Rooms were clean and perfect for our stay. The kids liked their goodie bags on arrival and received a wrist band to swap for a snack at the bar. The bar and restaurant were lovely, clean and staff attentive. Our evening meal was a little disappointing and we waited over an hour for our meal ( a little diffcult with two hungry tired children to entertain) the meal wasnt that great either but the wait i believe was due to last min staff shortages. Breakfast however was fabulous, great choice and lovely and fresh!
The wait for our evening meal was disappointing.
Sandra on reception was fantastic, we arrived late and due to a wedding in the hotel no food was available. Sandra arranged for us to have some food prepared.
Lovely hotel, part of an old canal wharf. It's just a shame that the immediate area around the hotel is very neglected and uninviting
Staff were all friendly and welcoming, it was clean, breakfast was good. The kids even received a treat from reception on check in.
Nothing, it was all good.
Location was great, staff were friendly and it was clean, comfortable and really good value for money

The hotel and staff went out of their way to accommodate children. The pool facility was good.
The pillows were not the most comfortable
The room and the leisure centre
One woman aycreception was not at all helpful
location and that it had everything on site such as restaurant and bar. Swimming pool was great and staff there very friendly and helpful.
nothing
Excellent hotel within a short drive of Cheshire Oakes Retail Park and Chester city centre and the wonderful Zoo. The hotel is very clean and tidy and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfy so a great night sleep. Had a very nice evening meal in the restaurant looking out to the canal and boat museum. The breakfast was also great with a good choice of hot and cold food and drinks. Definitely recommend to anyone. A big thanks to all the staff.
Not a lot of amenities within walking distance if you have any walking difficulties but easy to get to in a vehicle.
Nothing!!!
The manager had to be one of he rudest people I have ever met at a hotel. I paid for a large room and walked in to have a huge spider in the window. When I called no answer. Then I went downstairs and she acted like I was crazy to ask to change rooms. Then she took about 20 minutes to finally offer us what must be the worst room at the hotel. I told her I would happily pay more to which she ignored it and said there were no options which I know was a lie cause there were two master suites that were labeled “vacant”. The carpet in the room we got was soooo scary. The value for money was terrible and done get me started on the view from the window which was poles from the scaffolding and the parking lot. Don’t go here unless you want to waste your money…terrible…terrible…terrible…
Nice area
Shower didn’t work room 308
Friendly staff
Friendly efficient staff
Location great, clean and comfortable.
We ordered evening meal each day, but no one recoded the second night so we had to eat later than we wanted,
It served us well for our overnight stop. We ate at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast the following morning. We enjoyed a good nights sleep. We also enjoyed the canal side view and the walk we took along that stretch of canal.
Parking is limited and tight but it worked.
Location
It is a handy location.
It is getting too expensive.
Clean comfy bed excellent breakfast

Hotel was clean and in good location
Whilst checking into the room the receptionist wasn’t most professional, taking calls whilst booking us in and having us stand waiting until she had finished on the phone to give us our room keys. An hour after this, at 15:30, me and my girlfriend were in the room when two members of staff entered the room unannounced (no phonecall prior or a knock on the door before entry) followed by saying “what time did you book in? we didn’t think the room had been handed over” leaving me and my partner quite disturbed feeling our privacy could be breached so easily without warning at any point. The following morning me and my partner were woken up by contractors at 8am outside our door ripping up the corridor carpet and working in the room opposite ours.
Staff were friendly, breakfast was good value and included within the price. Ashleigh on reception was fantastic when we were checking in
Comfort of the travel cot for baby
Nice location with the canal around the hotel, staff were so helpful and friendly. I also loved that they cater to the kids with a little goody bag. Food was lovely and the property was generally clean and tidy.
Poop changing rooms were none existent and basically a shared room to get changed and generally wear and tear of the rooms. But it was clean and still a lovely stay, we would come back.
Great location, friendly staff, very comfortable bed and great choice for breakfast was was good too! Would definitely return!
Nothing
Location is stunning. Hotel was clean and nice.
Nothing about the property itself but there was a child’s prom party in the venue hall. Children were running all round the hotel screaming and shouting. Kids knocking on our door.
Comfortable rooms
Ww weren't allocated a room with good position, my family had much nicer room overall
Staff were great; room clean.
Bed was the hardest I’ve ever tried to sleep it. Super uncomfortable.
Staff were very friendly and helpful kids VIP was a hit and location was perfect for zoo aquarium

10/10 breakfast. Super friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable room. Ample parking. Great location.
There is nothing that we don’t like about the property
Location is good
It is very tired and the room was very noisy
The hotel was lovely and clean
Some staff didn't understand English
Great central location and right beside the National Waterways Museum. It was a very hot evening and the AC was a real benefit. Great help-yourself breakfast with plenty of choice and tables right by the canal basin.
Everything was good.
Very clean & tidy , all staff very friendly, lovely hotel , an location
We were there for a wedding, nice location,
In our room the carpet was quite marked and grubby looking.
The convenient location for a family get together THE STAFF ALWAYS 😊😊😊😊😊😊

Everything was prefect.
The setting was really nice, with the water outside. The staff were really helpful and polite. The room was lovely, especially the air con during this hot spell.
The only things really were, the bed was hard and we kept meeting in the middle. The carpets are a bit tired. Apart from that it was great
Staff are fab! Thank you to James on reception for moving things around to stay an extra night! Really appreciate it, thanks so much James! Great customer service x
All is good
We had a lovely stay. The hotel is in a beautiful location with lovely scenery overlooking the canal, The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We had an issue with the toilet in our original room, but the team dealt with it quickly by upgrading us to the bridal suite, which was a wonderful surprise. Especially when we celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary. We also appreciated the complimentary drinks as a kind gesture. The hotel also has a swimming pool, although unfortunately we didn’t have time to use it. Overall, excellent customer service and a relaxing stay. We would definitely visit again.
The only small downside was that some areas of the hotel could do with a little TLC. The windows looked a bit tired and dated, but it didn’t take away from our stay.
Location good - staff were really nice and friendly at reception and breakfast area well done
Corridors carpets abit scruffy - room was nice clean big beds - the outside windows very dirty looked out onto dock but so dirty on outside could hardly see
Lovely location and a relaxing afternoon
The duty manager on the desk on Thursdays afternoon was a bit dry and did not explain with the restraint and breakfast times
Good spot for site seeing
Not enough choice of menu Breakfast or dinner
ALL the staff were all so helpful and kind. The location is great.for shopping cheshire oaks. Nearby is the boat museum well worth a visit. Great will be back for longer next time. This was our 2nd visit
Nothing
Location wasn’t to bad, free parking always brilliant. The views of the dock were great. But as an important point, you have great professional staff, happy and efficient, friendly..
That it seriously needs a refurb, carpets in our room were awful, paint chipping .. mould in shower…etc etc! It’s obvious the Cleaning staff are doing their best but let down by the points mentioned.
It was in a lovely setting by the canal, parking was free. The lobby was attractive and had a lovely fragrance. Dining area was nice with view of the canal. Room was comfortable and aircon was needed. Swimming pool was nice
Dinner service was poor and expensive for the quality. There seemed to be a staffing issue. Kids eat free is great but the kids didn’t want to eat the choices on their menu. Having to book the pool in advance is a little annoying.
Clean and friendly
Breakfast items obviously good quality, but cold, couldn’t eat them
Außerordentlich schöne Lage.
Great location for visiting both Liverpool and Chester by car. Lovely to have water both front and back of the hotel. Quiet as well. Nice that there were gluten free options at breakfast, even a dedicated toaster!
Nothing, all good

The staff were brilliant and shower was hot
The leisure area could be improved on. Changing rooms in the pool area were tiny and squished
Plenty of choice for breakfast. Staff all very friendly and full of interesting information. Lots to see and do. The hotel is along side the canal, with lots of boats up and down the locks. The use of a very clean leisure facility was very welcome as the weather was very warm. Plenty of parking.
