Location ok.
No garden view as promised; No cleaning or change of towels; toiletry; coffee; tea etc. although part of the deal and services paid for. Staff not trained in the bar for mixing drinks, or knowing how to use the barista machine.
Peaceful country feel setting yet close to nearby towns Friendly staff who were happy to make you enjoy your stay On site leisure facilities
Location Transport safety
Taxi to town, but was ok
The location was great as it was close to amenities staff friendly Tea and coffee in the room which was really good, fresh towels the room was clean
Couldn't open the window as the lock wire was too short for you to have the window open which made the room extremely hot, the fan that was in the room couldn't turn on as the noise coming from it was horrendous, the drive way up you have to play dodge the pot hole and some where extremely big, when we turned up there was no one at reception and no way of getting hold of anyone to come and greet us,
Easy to find I guess
- No hair dryer - The shower head was awful - Lots of mold in bathroom - Black hair in bath tub (I am blonde) - Black hair on bed - No fridge in room - Very dirty - Staff not that helpful - No biscuits in room - Corridor unclean - Dirty plates in restaurant (had to order out) - My room was so noisy I had no sleep, felt very u safe like someone would enter room at any moment - One of the light in room didnt even work - No brochure or menu im room, no idea what was there (googled it) - Dirty mark on mirror - Called room service to get some plates and they said I had to travel to kitchen and carry plates and cutlery back to my room - Wanted to use pool but was so put off from it. - I paid for breakfast but didnt show up as everything was dirty
Beds were comfy and nice hot shower/bath in the room. Fan in the room to keep it cool. My son liked the pool and sauna, decent size pool for a swim and not too busy. Gym is large and lots of different equipment.
The whole place is a bit run down and neglected, a shame as it has so much potential to be a nice country manor style hotel with some investment and TLC. Individually staff were nice but overall it’s understaffed and standards slip when it’s busy. For example having to ask for cups etc at breakfast, no staff member at the pool desk meaning we couldn’t enter, no one there on reception for check out. Not up to the standard of a 4 star - no hairdryer or safe in the room, dirty tea cups not replaced in room. Also charging hotel guests £5 to use the pool and gym - most hotels would include this as standard.
Location, grounds, swimming pool
No towels at the pool!
The staff when you could find them were friendly.
The room was not clean. You had to pay to use the pool even though we were staying at the hotel. The food was very expensive for what you actually got.
- No plug socket by bed - No internal access to pool and spa via hotel - Cloudy pint - No service at bar - No water in room - Poor shower pressure - Hotel refusing to return keys I left in room and state I need to collect them
Room was clean and comfortable. Receptionist was great
it was a Thursday evening and there was hardly anyone there which then seemed to reflect on the evening menu where it said al a carte which I didn't need, I would have been happy with a bar menu, but that menu was more like pub food, but a much worse selection of which didn't make sense. There was only a small selection to choose from, 2 of which were not available. I went for steak thinking that would be safer if they weren't cooking for many and although cooked to perfection (medium rare), they couldn't do the advertised peppercorn sauce with the rump, just the sirloin which wasn't available, so I asked for mustard but they had non (this is a big hotel!!) and disappointingly it was really tough. As there was no one else to serve the waiter (who was very polite) came to get my plate when I literally stopped for a minute. I went to the swimming pool, the connecting corridor from the hotel was out of use so I had to walk round the back of the hotel which was fine, but when I got there they had no towels and hadn't for 2 days so I was asked to go back to my room to get my room towel so I just didn't bother as by now I felt a bit odd about it all,
Just the outside and the breakfast ,
Dirty, scruffy,no staff, ripped Carpet in the party room ..the toilets in the main hall were grotty.staff were hard to find !!the food for the party had no signs ? I’m allergic to mayo ,no descriptions ? I wouldn’t go back ! Had to pay to go swimming considering we had all spent a lot of money ,to attend a 90th party
Great for my location
Breakfast expensive
Room was comfortable if a little compact. Breakfast was very good. The only member of staff on duty was very personable and did his very best, but he shouldn't really have had to multi-task (reception, bar etc. etc.) as he was required to do.
We booked this hotel because it had a restaurant with good dining and we reserved a table for dinner. On the day of our arrival (and just before we left home) we were informed that there was an issue in the kitchen and that our reservation could not be fulfilled - we were never convinced that there was actually any 'issue' other than that there were no other reservations for that evening. My booking was non-refundable; otherwise I would have gone elsewhere, rather than have a room 'picnic'. There were certainly no kitchen 'issues' for breakfast the following morning - the small number of residents meant that cooked breakfast was 'to order' rather than a buffet (which, for me, was a plus).
Staff were lovely - the pool is ok but strong smell of mould on the way to the pool. Dinner wasn’t great but breakfast was ok. Pretty location.
As above
The location was spot on for my needs
The staff the bar was unattended when I approached the receptionist he was not happy as he was on the phone to a mate. They had no food because of a wedding of 30 people and the chef couldn’t cope. And breakfast was £17.50 pp for over cooked sausage and bacon and cold beans. In all avoid the place very poor
location
room very warm
Absolutely nothing.
All of it. The checkin was extremely poor and unhelpful.
Location
Pool was cleverly photographed to look a lot bigger but it was tiny
Everything
There was nothing to dislike
Good breakfast, big bed, quiet room, comfortable
Didn’t use the gym or pool but apparently you have to pay
Breakfast was excellent. Help yourself to whatever you want. Excellent choice. Staff on hand if unable to find anything. Personally I hated the background music, which fortunately was low volume, but I suppose that was for atmosphere. I did not have an evening meal at the hotel. Room was ok with a bath and shower attached to the bath taps. This worked ok for me, but without aircon it was uncomfortably hot for sleeping due to afternoon/evening sun with a small fan to assist a single open window. (outside temperature was about 28C max I think) I used the swimming pool (£5) which was excellent for me, but serious swimmers may find its a little small. No diving. The £5 included the Gym which I did not use. All the staff I had dealings with were great. The car park was big enough and plenty of spare spaces but the drive feeding it had large potholes.
Beautiful setting and well maintained.
No elevator, but this wasn’t a big deal.
The location was good and near to the safari park
The property was very dated and run down . It certainly needs a refurbishment inside and out .
Location,clean,friendly staff,easy stay,good parking
The ground around the hotel seemed nice. That's all the positives I can mention.
No privacy curtains (coils, nets) in the window. We were on clear view of the golf course and people walking by. No filter on the kettle, so we couldn't use it due to the amount of limescale. Beds and pillows were rock solid. Very uncomfortable. Pool was cold, hot tub was weak. All lockers broke. Dirty and damp. Breakfast was overpriced, weak coffee, raw croissants.
The food was very good with lovely vegetables
The bar staff were inexperienced and slow
Rooms were clean but tired. Hard to find any staff anywhere. Everywhere seemed empty & soulless. Grounds unkempt. Disappointing visit. Booked for 2 nights but did not stay for the 2nd night.
Comfy bed & Quiet room
Not enough staff on duty, No Bacon at breakfast on Wednesday
Central, stayed before.
Nothing
Room comfy but hot due to weather mainly. Staff polite and helpful. Breakfast excellent. Social rooms and bar area comfy.
Shower tricky to use and would have been troublesome for more elderly person. No evening meal due to either staff not being available or only a few in the hotel at the time.
Atmosphere good. Staff all lovely.
Showers not great. Spa closed early on Saturday and Sunday. AC would be welcome. Road surface at entrance needs attention.
The room was very comfortable. Tea/coffee making facilities. Toiletries in bathroom. Iron and ironing board and trouser press. Adequate hanging space for a short stay. No air con but fan was provided and window opened a few inches to help with airflow.
The bathroom. Shower on/off adjustment clunky. Hard to turn shower control. Needs attention. Due to heatwave, air con would have been appreciated.
Nothing
No staff no bar no restaurant
We stayed one night and didn’t use the bar, restaurant or spa facilities. Receptionists were polite and helpful. There were ample parking spaces. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. There were tea/coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board and trouser press and hairdryer. The bathroom was okay, however the shower controls were stiff and difficult to manage. The outdoor temperature was very warm and although a fan was provided, the temperature in the room was oppressive so would definitely benefit from the installation of air conditioning in the bedroom. There were ample electric points but no USB sockets for recharging electronic devices. Overall our stay was a positive experience, but can only comment on the standard of our twin room as we didn’t use any other facilities.
Location
Even though I explained I was elderly and had a heavy suitcase, I was given a room in the attic up 3 flights of very steep stairs (rm73). None of the staff were willing to help with this. On arrival there were no staff, ANYWHERE! There was a phone and a message saying call for assistance. No one answered after 15 mins of calling.
Staff were fantastic that were there they were very under staffed.
Very run down we have stayed there 3 times now it's gone downhill the gardens & building desperate for attention.
Very nice looking authentic place with renovated and comfortable rooms.
Breakfast was quite poor vs EU standard. Quite overpriced.
After reading the score on here I was a bit sceptical about my stay however have to say no complaints Very warm welcome at reception and a good chat , room is spacious and clean yes could do with a lick of paint but nice bed and powerful shower. Breakfast was buffet but decent standard
Beautiful hotel. Very friendly staff.
Comfy bed, good breakfast, great location,
Shower was broke
Hired a meeting room. Coffees and teas included with a sweet treat. Was very good. And there was air con which was very much needed in this heat!
Liked the facilities provided , bed was comfortable
Rooms felt dated and price paid seems excessive. Was at Murder Mystery event where I felt the staff were slow
Very good facilities. Nice gym and pool
There seemed to be some damp in the connection to the gym
plenty of parking, free parking. bed was massive which was great!
The poor staff were too hot to provide good customer service, no hello how are you, hope you enjoy your stay… The room was unbearably hot, i understand we were in a heatwave but when we got to the room, the window was open with the curtains wide open and the room was a sun facing room so all the heat was just drowning the space. We contemplated actually going back home and not staying because it was that hot. We had a fan but it was just pushing the heat around. We were there for a wedding and i felt so bad for the couple. The bar staff for the night couldn’t pour a pint, i was able to watch the bride and groom cut their cake, do father daughter dance, first dance before he finished making the pint. The breakfast the next morning was sad. We arrived and the guy taking us to our seat actually sighed when we said we had never been before. The apple juice was ‘actively fermenting’, the tongs to pick up the food was scorching and no napkin was there to help aid. The breakfast bits were not stocked up despite it being only 30mins after breakfast had started. No atmosphere/background music while you ate so was awkward.
Very clean and a fan was in our room already for the hot weather
Shower was not working correctly although in fairness they may not have been aware
The breakfast was lovely the first morning but there was hardly anything to eat the second morning. The staff when you could find them were very friendly and polite. The location was really good to where we needed to be.
The food at dinner time was very small for the price we paid. You had to pay to use the pool even though we were staying at the hotel. there wasn't a lift anywhere. The cleanliness of the room was not up to standard as we found bugs behind the bed and in the bathroom. there was no air-conditioning.
Location. It had a pool
Couldn't get food at lunchtime. The walk to the spa was a bit smelly, through the hotel. The carpets were all stained. A lot of lockers in the changing room were not lockable. Driveway needs resurfacing
It was lovely and quiet
The rooms were too stuffy and warm couldn’t open the window to get any air circulating.
When we arrived there was a Prom party on and we had not been notified, place was full of kids running around and very noisy we spoke to the duty manager Stalin Francis who apologised and told us to contact you for refund which they would approve as we should have been contacted.
Based on 3* being average and that the price you pay dictates your expectations, I give 1*. Booked suite for 4 nights @ roughly £50 per night more than a standard room, as I needed the space for business discussions with my clients. Was downgraded after first night due to a problem with the lock. Offered free breakfast as compensation, which costs £17.50. Declined and asked to be refunded the difference. I asked the night before leaving and felt rather insulted when they told me they would refund £20 per night. I told them about the rate difference of £50 and their final offer was £40 per night. £5 to use the gym, £10 per hour for early check in, £10 per hour for late check out....
My parents had their 40th wedding anniversary party here for 50 guests in one of the suites and it was a perfect size and also had exclusive access to outside. Staff serving fast at the bar, private toilets just for us which was much appreciated. Daniel was our event host and despite only being in the job 2 weeks we couldn’t fault his hard work, attitude , friendliness and professionalism. A big thank you to Louise too who we booked the event with, she was incredibly helpful!
The room was fine and the hotel itself is very nice However the staff were very poor the bar was not well attended by staff and the beer was off as the pipes were playing up and the beer was cloudy when paying seven pounds fifty for pint you do expect decent beer! I used the resteraunt but did not get served ( and it was not busy) so resorted to ordering at the bar and eating in the bar
Staff were not really customer freindly.
Facilities and the staff.
A little tired in areas. No plug sockets by the bed and in the leisure centre, no dryer for swimming trunks or swim suits.
Bed was comfy, food was good
Didn’t like the extras of paying to use pool gym facilities as I didn’t see this before booking. The shower in the room, was old, just dumped water out so had to stand over the taps to get any water on you. The bath had bits in it so didn’t look like it had been cleaned and there was pubic hair on the bathroom floor so clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly.
Clean rooms, friendly staff
Very uncomfortable beds, a music festival going on at the venue with lots of drunk rowdy people around which scared my daughter
Friendly staff, Clean and Tidy, check in was easy.
Card only at the bar. Cash is king.
Location is great and it has a swimming pool for kids
The bed mattresses and pillows are terrible and painful, take your own pillow if you don't want a sore head neck and ears!
The staff and team are incredibly friendly and could not do enough to make me feel comfortable and welcome.
Gym equipment is old and needs updating The carpets were in desperate need of a clean. There was a food stain on the stairs carpet on my arrival on Monday and was there until I left on Thursday (could have been cleaned/wiped easily) The TVs are dated, no smart TV in the room in 2026 is a sin.
Large room Comfortable bed
Very dated and tired looking Heating not working in room was told only switched on a certain times of the day. No air con for warm days No usb power points Shower only had shower curtain
The building is imposing and was ideally located for our purposes. Breakfast was standard buffet and cooked to order, but with problems, On the other hand the evening meal was nicely cooked, of good quality and nicely served and presented.
We were located in a poky room as far from the Reception as you could get, and considering the cost of the stay at £146 I thought that this was another hotel that allocates poor rooms to Booking.com customers. This is not the first occasion that we have come across this attitude, and is usually excused by being 'fully booked' as the reason. However, in this case there only appeared to be some 8-10 guests that night. The bar drinks were highly priced. At breakfast the chef did not know how to cook scrambled egg properly, mine was not eaten because it had not been cooked at a high enough temperature to fully amalgamate the yolk and white. By now I couldn't be bothered to complain.
Friendliness of the staff.
Nothing
I stayed over here while on a business trip. I was met at reception by a friendly enough young lady who told me that breakfast was cooked fresh to my requirements. The room was what I'd expect for the money and had a lovely big bed. The bath was so small to relax in so I didn't bother. The hotel is just in the countryside and is lovely and quiet. Going down for breakfast quarter and hour after it had opened I was surprised to see that breakfast was a buffet style like offer chain hotels offer, unfortunately the cooked breakfast items were Luke warm and there fore not pleasant to eat. There was a limited choice of continental breakfast items.
Very smooth from start to finish. The site is large and fly very rural. The hotels layout was simple and easy to access.
The rooms looked tired generally.
Clean comfortable quiet
Didnt do breakfast at £17.50
Nothing we could not listen to television or talk as we were being accused of saying that we were talking to loud and we was not talking at all there were people living in the hotel immigrants it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in the facilities were atrocious we checked in and they finished at 5pm and we could not check in till 3pm not good they should of stayed the facilities till at least 7pm I felt like I was at a school trip and after 9pm we could not talk and lights had to be out and for the reception staff to be outside our door listening to our conversation that is out of order
Everything
We stayed at Stourport Manor for our anniversary and overall had a really lovely experience. Our room was nice and spacious, with a very big and comfortable bed, which made a big difference to our stay. The white bedding was exactly what we like, so that was a big plus. The only downside to the room itself was that the bathroom was quite small. We made use of the pool and spa facilities, which were just £5 for a day pass—great value for money. We really enjoyed relaxing there during our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, with very nice bars and a really pretty outdoor area that made the whole experience feel special. The staff were all really lovely and helpful throughout our visit, which added to the positive atmosphere. For dinner, we went to The Watermill and had a great meal, and on the day we checked out, we headed to West Midland Safari Park, which was so close by and absolutely amazing. Overall, we had a great time at the hotel and would definitely recommend it. The only negatives were that the room was extremely hot, which made it a bit uncomfortable at times, and unfortunately, a special anniversary request we had made wasn’t fulfilled. Despite that, it was a really enjoyable stay and a memorable way to celebrate our anniversary.
Did not have breakfast
Very nice young man on reception . Very nice coffee in the lounge. Convenient location to walk into the town
Room had a funny smell. TV remote was missing, telephone didn't work. Room was very cold on entering for the first time. Bathroom was dirty. Didn't like the fact you had to pay to use the leisure facilities, even as guests of the hotel
Really tired hotel. Room was freezing, no remote control for TV and telephone didn't work. That was just to start with. Have to pay £5 per person per visit to use the leisure facilities so we didn't bother. WiFi really slow. Bathroom was disgusting...photos to follow. No meals were included in our room rate from booking.com so we didn't want to try restaurant after state of room. Disappointing experience. Only positive was a very pleasant young man on reception!
Stayed here as an anniversary gift from a friend. There was confusion when checking in about payment as this was done via hotels.com by our friend but the hotel hadn’t received payment. So a quick phone call to our friend to get it sorted, bed and breakfast or so we thought. Following morning we went to the restaurant for breakfast, which is buffet I might add, we were asked for room number and told we were room only. Went to query this at reception and found we were room only. Breakfast would be an additional charge of £17.50 for buffet not even table service. What if I only wanted a small amount like egg on toast or cereal. It just seems a bit excessive. Glad we never bothered as we found several places in town that offered breakfast for less than a fiver. The room is in desperate need of improvements as there was cracks in the paintwork and various areas in the bathroom with mould and dust accumulation in the vent the shower is over the bath which my wife couldn’t use due to mobility problems, a walk in shower would be up to date. WiFi is slower than a snail. Can’t control heating as this runs of a central heating system and is at the hotels discretion also the TV is outdated ( not smart tv). Definitely would not recommend this hotel unless a lot of upgrades are done.
This is such a lovely hotel, with very comfortable beds and we had a free upgrade to a family room too, so had a sofa as we didnt have the kids with us. The pool and sauna is a nice extra touch and the grounds are beautiful, where we sat having a drink in the evening while being treated to some live music. The manager Starlin is so helpful and friendly and all the staff are very pleasant. However, I have to say the food is a bit of a disappointment - it looks really nice on the photos on the website but it wasnt the best, although I can only comment on dinner as we didnt get up for breakfast! That's the only other criticism, the price of breakfast, £17.50 per person! All in all however we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return, its only about 10 mins drive from Kidderminster so will eat out next time 😉
Good location not far from the town centre. We stayed in room 61 which overlooks the car park and was alittle distance from reception. Room was nice and clean, big enough for our needs. We found all the staff to be welcoming and friendly. Yes the hotel is in need of renovation in certain places but being a large building this will be an ongoing project constantly. We had dinner in town in the evening which is approximately 25/30 minutes stroll downhill and a taxi back was less than £6 . Will definitely stay again but book directly with the hotel for a better rate . If you went by reviews you might be put off visiting but DONT BE ! we encountered no problems.PS the breakfast was lovely had the restaurant to ourselves.
The £5 extra to use the pool / spa should be included in the cost of the room for what we paid for plus it closed at 5pm Saturday evening which we weren’t informed about so only had 45 minutes use . The locker rooms looked tired with missing doors but the more worrying aspect was the walk down along the corridor to the changing rooms . Right in the middle is a broken tile with all the edges missing and not cordoned off , anyone with limited eyesight or elderly could easily trip and you’re going to be facing a legal / medical bill .
Breakfast and room where fine, bottle of water in the room would of been nice though. Didn't have dinner in the restaurant, there wasnt anything i wanted.
hotel is dated, could do with decorating.
W had to attend an porting event in Stourport and Stourport Manor was our obvious choice for the location. The hotel has a nice entrance drive of the main road, a bit dated when you get in. We had 3 rooms located on the ground floor and as we entered we could hear the Fire Alarm beeping loudly. I did mentioned this to the reception but nothing was done as this was the week end and did not have any maintenance staff to change the batteries!. Bed very comfy but room noisy due to fire alarm and door alarm in the corridor with a weird little music. Blue Hotel logo on the outside wall making noise all night. Disappointing as not cheap to stay there. Bathroom got flooded after a shower, not too sure why. Very hot at night but been in the ground floor did not open the window.
Excellent stay, friendly staff who are prepared to go the extra mile.. Would recommend!
We have just returned from a lovely weekend stay at Stourport Manor and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. From the warm welcome at reception to the staff throughout the hotel we were made to feel at ease straight away. The hotel is set within its own beautiful grounds and is well located close to the town but is very peaceful and quiet. Our room was superb and looked to have been recently refurbished with a fantastic bathroom and fittings throughout. The food in the evening and at breakfast was extremely good and fairly priced, the bar was great too with lots of choice. The leisure club was a welcome bonus during the weekend and we made good use of all the facilities on offer there. Thank you fo everyone at Stourport Manor you were great.
Really enjoyed ourselves the food was lovely. Will definitely recommend. See you again soon?
Great location, very friendly staff
The room was clean and functional. The staff were all very friendly and provided a great service. I hadn't read the welcome instructions properly and didn't realise breakfast finished at 9:00 - a kind gentleman (starlin - I've probably spelt his name wrong) helped me out and provided me with cereal, toast and tea even though it was 9:20 and the gym attendant helped me when I turned up without a payment card
I tried using the Wi-Fi and my PC couldn't connect to an unsecured network - having a proper Wi-Fi OR an option to pay and use a password would be much better for business travelers like me
This hotel was situated in very nice location, not too far of a walk from the main village and mini fun fair and park for families.
I booked a double room and was initially accommodated on the ground floor. However, I had to relocate to another room due to a faulty door, which was inconvenient. There were a few small but noticeable issues during my stay. For example, there were no power outlets beside the bed, making it difficult to charge a phone overnight. Additionally, despite being informed that a “Do Not Disturb” sign would be available to communicate with housekeeping, none was provided. As a result, we were disturbed by knocks on the door on mornings when we had hoped for privacy. The walls were also very thin, and noise from other guests could be heard clearly from across the hallway, which impacted the overall comfort of the stay. To make matters worse, on Easter Sunday, the kitchen was closed in the evening without warning, leaving guests without any dining options in the hotel!!! Had chips for dinner!! Absolutely insane for it's price.
We missed breakfast due to a bad nights sleep
Ants in the bathroom Room telephone didn’t work Located next to extremely distributive guests Unsanded / rough filler by front door frame Shower not high enough for someone 6ft+ Police were called due to bad guests next door
We really didn’t have a great experience with the Stourport Manor at all, enough to say we won’t be returning again. Right from the off I should have known we were going to have a bad experience. We wanted to book the Easter Sunday funday and carvery. I purposely rang before booking to find out the carvery times so I knew if I needed to feed my baby before hand, they didn’t have a clue and told me to email…. So I did, I got a reply 2 days later to say it was all ok and I could go with whatever time worked for us, so I went ahead and booked. In total I have received an astonishing 21 emails since then. Some saying I owe money (I paid in full with booking) some saying 6 people with 4 adults (my tickets clearly stated 2 adultss) various changes to the carvery time, despite me emailing before hand. All in all a total shambles! The fun dint end there….. we arrive at the time they stated….. not the time we asked for and not a single person at the desk! We waited for 15 minutes walking up and down, families in the same situation with no knowledge of what was going on. Even a worker was trying to get in and as there was no one at reception he couldn’t get through the door! The worker had to ring and wait for someone to come, someone that really didn’t seem busy in the slightest. We were told to take a seat and wait and honestly the unorganised chaos just continued. A total waste of time
I attended a Christmas party on 07/12/2025. My daughter picked me up and unfortunately received a parking ticket. She was only there 15 minutes. She spoke to the Stourport Manor directly and they said they would sort it out, which they did not. She has now received a fine for £155!!!!!! Which i have had to pay, expensive taxi home as i only live in Kidderminster. Will not be visiting there again and will let as many people know about the parking fine system. It is absolutely disgusting as you would not use the car park unless you were using their facilities. Money for nothing, maybe they could use the money to repair the car park numerous potholes. Do not visit this hotel it could be quite costly.
Excellent hotel which is very clean. Food was excellent as was the service.
Very rude manager
Ok food
We have been running Members Musical Breaks for enthusiasts of music performed on electronic organs, pianos and keyboards for many years and have just returned from our event at The Stourport Manor Hotel. This will be the 10th event that we have held there since the hotel changed ownership in 2022 and over that period we have seen many improvements in the ways they have met our requirements. I can honestly say that our time there last week was the best event so far, no effort was spared in doing all that was necessary in making our event totally successful. Our 40+ guests were very complimentary about their rooms, the quality of the food and the friendliness of all the staff and it was a great pleasure as organiser for me to deal with the Group & Event Sales Executive, Louise Dunbar and her on-site representative Niamh. We look forward to our two further events this year and our three booked for next year.
I stayed at this hotel as a base whilst attending a music festival in the town, which is a good, healthy walk down (up on return) a hill, so perfect for some exercise. I think it is fair to say that this hotel might have seen better days a while ago. It certainly cannot be described as a luxury residence, but it is a perfectly adequate one for a stay. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The maid service is excellent to top up morning essentials. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts, which have clearly been sourced well from local produce. The staff are helpful and polite. The bar staff were very friendly, and I did have a decent enough dinner on Saturday early evening. A pie, which was fine for what I wanted. It is clearly not cordon bleu, and I did overhear the bar staff informing a couple that there was no steak available (not good), but it was fine for what I wanted. The bar itself has a nice range of drinks - I enjoyed a very pleasant glass of wine with my meal and before retiring on Sunday night. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and will certainly be happy to stay again when I return to this particular music festival.
Staff were friendly and helpful
The shower has absolutely no pressure, takes z5 times longer to shower with the way the water drips out of the shower head. Water savings to the extreme where they thinks better not to bathe!
Comfortable, clean, well aired room.
