Reviewed Sep 12, 2026Beautiful buildings in beautiful gardens with fabulous decor. Such a relief from the depressing modern white and beige soulless boxes we’ve suffered for years!
Only let down by the beautiful gardens being awash with disappointing cold/white lights and illuminations, which warm lights would transform.
Other minor niggles were difference between designer images and actual ‘executive’ room, which was plain and awash with cold/white light; lack of vegan options; and being forced to return the TV remote to reception!

Reviewed Sep 4, 2026It has taken years for the gardens to develop and grow so beautifully. It is so peaceful. We loved the ginger cat 🐈 that came to visit. The massage was impressive. There so many nooks and crannies to find a spot if you want privacy. It’s like you’re Alice in wonderland. Enjoyed the game of putt-putt. The art and decor is unique and sucks you in. It doubles up as a museum. Loved beating the African drums 🪘 as we entered.
The coffee from the coffee pot was terrible. And I mean un-drinkable.
The ponds have been needing algae treatment for a very long time. You lucky if one of the gold fish come to the surface - otherwise you can’t see anything other than dark green water.

There was a very bad smell outside not sure what it was. The staff also keep on coming to knock on the door, and we booked the stay to try and relax and sleep so that was not very nice . We ordered food at 17:35 and the food was delivered to our room after 19:00 and there was no communication in between that there will be a delay or anything.

The room did not smell nice. 6 pillows on the bed and not one was comfortable. Toilet kept leaking so dripping sound during the night. Breakfast was average. Coffee in the room and at breakfast wasnt nice.

Exceptional service from the staff from the moment we arrived until the time we checked out!
Would love to go back and spend more time here!! This is like paradise away from the city rush.

All was good in exception of not having in the evening we could not shower or use the Toilet. It was a bit challenging

We were 4 ,only 3 people managed to bath with hot water when it was turn for the last person, the water was cold.Other than that everything was perfect.

During the booking process a 1-year and 3-year old child were allocated their own room and the staff did not want to discuss the matter. We were 6 adults and 5 children (1 and 3 year old included) and we booked 6 rooms, one of which was not used. We were forced to invited a person on the street to utiilse the room on the last day.

Drain blocked basin , light making noise in room 507 , bed was not made yet by the time we arrived (1 hour after check in) and picture frame was about fall of from the wall, internet speed is not fast as advertised , geyser is leaking

L'hôtel se situe en pleine nature dans un cadre voué à au calme et la relaxation.
Super décoration du restaurant, du bar, de l'accueil.
Petit-déjeuner excellent, le meilleur durant ce voyage.
Emplacement au calme et malgré tout à 3 minutes, en voiture, de la ville.

Staff clean out side in the morning before going to the room. It feels like home. There is always extra blankets because it's cold. There is network. The break fast buffet is on point but you should be on time. If late you will get nothing
No ready charging points, the TV and aircon is not user friendly.. The room was too small and cold. When going to bathroom you are forced to touch the wall as the bed only left and inch for you to pass. I just hope other rooms are better

Rooms average, some did not have hot water, aircons not working.
Staff did not really try so solve the situation with geysers and aircon. Lack of communication on site. Some of the rooms the beds were not comforable(old), aircons not working. No Spa available on a Saturday although advertised!

Our heater in the room was not working and the place is soo cold hence it's winter so I should have carried an extra blanket, they did offer us one but it was just too cold the heater would have been great to warm up the room too.

Reviewed Jun 3, 2026We loved the room, it was spacious, although the room that was allocated to us the aircon did not work and and the bed was like to close to the bathroom, we were moved to a spacious room due to the aircon not working and we loved it. Thanks
The first room was just too uncomfortable to move because the bathroom was just like too close. I think it was room 411.
Second time staying at room 204, last stayed there in January. I love the room it is very spacious and has an equally beautiful bathroom.

The restaurant manager was very rude when I came in for breakfast, he spoilt my entire stay at the establishment.
Netflix did not want to stream, I called maintenance but the gentleman that came also could not fix the problem.
Breakfast buffet was wonderful. The staff were all friendly and treated us warmly. The location itself was beautiful, and the manager, Dirk, was next-level kind a friendly. They did not even ask for a deposit to use the putt-putt clubs or the tennis racquets. I felt we were treated like adults, which was nice.
Spiders. Spiders. Spiders, everywhere. When we walked into our room, there were cobwebs on the ceiling. I had to go and ask reception if someone would clean it, as it was really bothering my wife. Cleaning the cobwebs should be part of the basic cleaning. The shower in our room's drain was also clogged. Outside, it was not pleasant to walk around, as I kept walking into massive spider webs, occupied by some very dangerous-looking arachnids. I am all for leaving nature, but on paths where people are expected to walk in order to get around the basic facilities, I really think some basic clearing should be done - perhaps daily or every two days - just have teams go around and clear it out. This put a damper on the entire experience, and it made the environment scary instead of beautiful. I cannot emphasize how overrun the place feels, and the sense was that they were not bothered by or doing anything about the spiders. Outdoor chess is broken (certain pieces)

Access road requires 4x4 due to neglect. Severe road damage. Very bad mold smell upon entering room. Rooms stay wet. Beds not in good condition. Gun safe not fixed to any wall according to the regulations.

I liked the surroundings
I checked out with 5 days to spare. I tried to power through because I had paid in advance, but just couldn’t do the whole stay.
Cleanliness was a big issue. I never felt like I was in a clean space. Dirty dirty walls.
The food wasn’t good. Definitely overpriced for how basic it was. When I say I cook better at home it’s no word of a lie. (Room service) lasagne with no bechamel, a glob of melted cheese covering it, and dry mince? Over R150 bro. Wimpy was better.
I found myself sleeping on top of the duvet covered in a blanket from home, head-to-toe. There were unidentifiable stains. Even after the “cleaning” staff came in.
This is a 4 Star hotel on their website by the way... they’re lying, your honour. This just wasn’t a 4 star experience in any way.
Very disappointing but at least now I know where not to go.

Our room was perfectly located. Close to both the kitchen/pool area and the parking, which made everything super convenient. No unexpected “visitors” (reptiles included 😄), the lighting was great, and overall everything was 100%.
Breakfast? Absolutely amazing 10/10.
Dinner was just as impressive at 9/10.
A special shoutout to Andrew, our waiter for the weekend, his service was exceptional. The chef and kitchen staff were also incredibly friendly and made sure we were well looked after throughout our stay.
While most of our stay was fantastic, one downside was the noise level in the restaurant on Saturday evening. Unfortunately, it wasn’t well managed and ended up feeling more like a nightclub than a fine dining experience, which took away from the overall atmosphere.
The place is gorgeous. Beautiful landscapes.
The beds were a bit too hard. Left with a sore back. The spa was out of order and they said they only had one therapist on site, which meant we couldn't get a session as they could only do one person at a time.

The food quality and taste were poor, it simply wasn't to our liking.
More importantly, we found scorpions on the premises.
A young child in our group was bitten and we had to rush them to Bela-Bela hospital for emergency treatment. A major safety concern for families
