Sabàtic Gavà Mar, Barcelona, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Das Hotel liegt südlich von Barcelona an einem wunderschönen Sandstrand - der Pool lädt mit seinen vielen Liegen zum Entspannen ein. Das Zimmer sowie das Bad sind modern eingerichtet, die Betten sind sehr bequem. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, die Auswahl wirklich sehr groß, das Personal sehr freundlichen. Parkplätze sind in begrenztem Umfang vorhanden, jedoch für moderne Autos sehr eng.

Die Liegen am Strand müssen extra bezahlt werden (daher waren sie während unseres mehrtägigen Aufenthalts auch immer unbesetzt), dies müsste unserer Meinung nach konkreter auf Booking kommuniziert werden! Zudem gibt es weder am Pool noch beim Restaurant eine Toilette, lediglich im 1. Stock gibt es eine öffentliche Toilette. Wenn man also sein Zimmer im EG oder 1. Stock hat, ist der Weg dorthin tatsächlich schneller - das sollte in einem solchen Hotel nicht der Fall sein.

La salida a la playa !! Me encantó la estética , la comodidad de los cuartos, los jardines, la piscina . Nos tocó un día de lluvia y habían paraguas disponibles, tenían bicicletas y una mat en el cuarto para hacer ejercicio o relajarse.

Room was very nice and loved the pool and beach club. All the common areas were wonderful. Shuttle into town was great.

The toilet in the room stopped working on the night we arrived. We didn't wan to cause any fuss and reported the issue first thing ion the morning, We reported this to reception and one of the cleaning staff had a look at this and then reported issue to housekeeping/maintenance. The toilet was not fixed. We were staying at your hotel as part of a recovery holiday following major gastrointestinal surgery that means I have to use the toilet often and at short notice. This was very inconvenient to say the least.

Toller Bereich am Strand mit privaten Stühlen, tolles Zimmer und sehr bequeme Betten und Kissen. Frühstück war super und es hatte von Allem. Essen sehr lecker und tolle Hotelanlage, sowie nettes Personal. Hat sich auf jedenfall sehr gelohnt.

Kritik wurde mit dem Hotelpersonal besprochen und direkt alles wurde geändert. Wir hoffen es bleibt so, dann kommen wir wieder.

Very Disappointing Experience!!! Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. The biggest issue was the lack of trust and ''poor customer service at all levels''. The staff were often cold, unfriendly, and seemed more suspicious of guests than willing to help. One of the many unacceptable moments was when my husband's room access was deactivated ''several hours before the official 12:00 PM check-out'', even though the room was fully paid in advanced and with a separate credit card on file. This caused a serious inconvenience for our son urgently needing to use the bathroom. The room was also extremely cold, the air conditioning was not controllable, and the gluten-free breakfast was very, very limited,.. offering one tiny piece of bread, heated in a plastic package, is simply unacceptable for a hotel charging this price. The only real positive was the public beach behind the hotel. But one public beach that does not belong to the hotel does not justify this price, especially when ''other nearby hotels offer the same beach access with much better service''. Overall, there was a clear lack of trust, poor service, and very poor value for money. The experience was simply not worth the price. This is our honest and sincere opinion, based entirely on our experience during the stay. All the best.

Honestly, I’m completely disappointed. My day started with some horrible artificial scrambled eggs that smelled and tasted so strange that I couldn’t eat them. And now I’m sitting in the restaurant in the evening, and instead of calm, pleasant music that lets you relax over dinner, there is this constant stupid beat. I really don’t understand this kind of management. Who is the one who decides that this is what people want in a hotel? You come here for peace, comfort and relaxation — not to start your morning with artificial eggs and finish your evening with boom-boom-boom over dinner. So yes… you asked how I like the hotel. Now you know. I definitely won’t stay here again.

Chambre climatisé au minimum assez désagréable au vu des chaleurs, la chambre infesté de moustique, climatisation bruyante. On nous a changé de chambre mais pour une chambre au fond du couloir de l’autre côté de l’hôtel près de la sortie de secours. Cette nouvelle chambre sentait le renfermer tout le long du séjour. Le serveur de la piscine était très lent, on avait l’impression de l’embêter à chaque demande… les chambres était physiquement bien mais on s’attend à mieux pour 1200 euros 4 nuits.

The damp room we were allocated and expected to pay near €300 for. That featured a massive damp patch on the ceiling. The lacklustre staff and no response from the email I sent the GM.

Sehr sehr gute Lage mit einem privaten Zugang zum Strand. Dort finden sich ebenfalls Liegen für die Hotelgäste, welche kostenfrei genutzt werden können. Strand ist super sauber und das Meer schön flach zum hineingehen. Pool sehr groß und super für Kinder zum spielen. Liegen etc. alles komfortabel und schön gemacht. Sehr zu empfehlen und gerne wieder.

Beautiful hotel and surrounding area. Most staff are incredibly polite and helpful. Nice breakfast, though quite lean. Food at the hotel restaurant is fantastic. Pool area is great (when there are no inconsiderate family groups).

Unfortunately it was obviously understaffed, especially considering the price, it was difficult to get service. Bars and restaurants were frequently unmanned. "Quiet pool" often had children running around and screaming, particularly at weekends, so wouldn't recommend for those looking for a relaxing or peaceful stay. Staff members do not oversee, clean or enforce any etiquette from rude guests in the pool area.

Very Disappointing Experience !!! Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was very disappointing. I made this reservation for my husband and son, and several aspects of their stay were far below what we expected. The biggest issue was the staff and customer service. They were consistently cold, unfriendly, and unwelcoming, often giving the impression that they were distrustful of guests rather than genuinely trying to assist them. There were several unpleasant interactions throughout the stay, which made the overall experience very uncomfortable. Another unacceptable incident occurred on the last day, when my husband's room access was deactivated several hours before the official 12:00 PM check-out time. This was despite the fact that the room had been fully paid for and a credit card was already on file. This was extremely inconvenient specially because our son that couldn't use the toilet right away, it is completely unacceptable. There were also issues with the room itself. It was incredibly cold, and controlling the air conditioning was practically impossible. In addition, the hotel offers very limited gluten-free breakfast options. Being given a single small piece of packaged in plastic gluten-free bread is simply not enough, especially considering the price paid for the stay. The only real positive was the public beach located directly behind the hotel. However, several other hotels in the area offer the same access to the beach while providing a much better level of customer service. Overall, the experience was not worth the money at all !!! All the best.

Experience slightly tarnished by 1-hour long power cut affecting the whole area, althpugh it was an odd and highly unusual event completely out of their control.

Pour un jus d'orange demander la piscine la demoiselle doit quitter son poste, aller au bar de l'intérieur et revenir et cela pour chaque commande... Le parking sans ascenseur avec un escalier, j'aurais aimé être averti avant j'aurais laissé ma grosse valise l'accueil avalé descendre me garer..

La posizione a ridosso della spiaggia e la presenza della piscina ben attrezzata e in un contesto piacevole e invitante sono certamente un punto di forza così come lo è l'assenza di rumori molesti nei dintorni (la strada principale non è vicina e il rumore degli aerei da/verso l'aeroporto è relativamente basso).

Forse un orario di check-in più consono (ad esempio le 13:00 anziché le 15:00), soprattutto a fronte di specifica richiesta, sarebbe opportuno. Anche l'isolamento acustico tra una camera e l'altra andrebbe più curato. Laddove l'educazione degli ospiti non è adeguata (la TV della camera accanto è rimasta accesa fino a circa le 2:00 di notte a volume non proprio basso) sarebbe utile una contromisura "acustica" che tuteli anche gli ospiti meno avvezzi a guardare e ASCOLTARE, loro malgrado, la TV.

Continence as it’s near to airport

It would have been nice if the breakfast opened earlier but they were very accommodating to give us some food even before the breakfast officially opened so that was very helpful. The staff were all generally very friendly and helpful.

There coudl have been parking as part of the hotel or nearby spaces reserved for hotel guests. This made it quite inconvenient especially when travelling with young children.

Les équipements de la chambre ne sont pas de qualité. La fenêtre ne pouvait pas se fermer, je ne pouvais pas fermer à clé la porte de la chambre et surtout la climatisation s’arrêtait toutes les 2 minutes et puis se remettait a fonctionner et le bruit du moteur me réveillait à chaque fois malgré les voiles quies ! Trop de lumière en veille la nuit et le rideaux non. Complètement occultants. Mais j’ai pu annuler la suite de mon séjour sans frais et je remédie l’équipe de l’hôtel pour ça.

Hotel de petite taille, dans lequel on ressent aussitôt une sensation de calme, et de tranquilité. Très jolie décoration. Belle piscine même si très chaude à cette période de l'année ! Le petit déjeuner était très bon, avec de bons produits. Accès direct à la plage.

Je trouve que la plage aménagée est un peu basique, uniquement quelques transat posés sur le sable, même si ça reste très appréciable! L'hotel est juste à côté de l'aéroport, c'est pratique mais il faut aussi accepter le passage de quelques avions à proximité.

It is a new boutique hotel with a nice pool and on a beach. Rooms are not very large but comfortable.

Wish there will be a washing room by the pool. You need to go to the hotel for it. There is a shuttle that takes you to Barcelona, which takes about 20 min but the hours are limited and no shuttle on Sunday. Also wish the would be a couple drawers to put smaller items in.

Great hotel - much better than pictures think these were pre revamp - outside is lovely and relaxing eating great breakfast overlooking tranquil gardens and pool. Straight through gate onto beach. Sunloungers and umbrellas round pool (need to take own for beach). Didn’t realise there was a free shuttle into Barcelona (place d’Espagne) where you could then walk or get metro. (Daytime only - public bus on way back was fine ans close). Also bikes to cycle down lovely promenade and paddleboards to use in sea all included. So great for a relaxing beach and city break.

Nous avions réservé une chambre dans cet hôtel via Booking.com, mais nous nous sommes malheureusement trompés de date. Dès que nous nous en sommes rendu compte, nous nous sommes présentés à la réception pour expliquer la situation. Le personnel nous a demandé de contacter Booking.com afin de faire une demande de modification ou d’annulation. Nous avons donc suivi cette procédure, pensant qu’une solution était possible. Booking a ensuite contacté l’hôtel, mais celui-ci a refusé toute exception. Nous reconnaissons entièrement que l’erreur sur la date était de notre fait et nous n’avons jamais contesté les conditions de réservation. En revanche, ce que nous reprochons à cet établissement, c’est son absence totale de flexibilité. Aucun remboursement, soit, mais même un simple report des dates nous a été refusé. C’est particulièrement décevant sachant que nous n’avons jamais pu profiter de la chambre. Le plus frustrant est qu’on nous a laissé croire qu’une solution était envisageable en nous demandant de passer par Booking.com, alors que l’hôtel savait manifestement qu’il refuserait toute demande. La réponse reçue ensuite se contente de rejeter la responsabilité sur Booking.com. Pourtant, rien n’empêchait l’hôtel de faire un geste commercial ou de proposer un changement de dates. Un établissement qui place réellement la satisfaction de ses clients au premier plan cherche des solutions, il ne se contente pas d’appliquer un règlement sans aucune considération pour les circonstances. Très déçu par cette expérience. Nous ne reviendrons pas.

Lovely place and unexpected. Booked this as it is near the airport and convenient. Old reviews are terrible but this place is fully refurbished and really lovely and modern. Staff couldn‘t be nicer too. Can only recomend this hotel.

The room with the sea view are very comfy and clean.

The breakfast was not so good for the price… bread and pastry were not fresh. There was an access to the beach but no chairs or umbrellas at the beach. Quite expensive for what it is.

Idealne miejsce do spokojnego, relaksującego wypoczynku a jednocześnie, dobre miejsce wypadkowe do zwiedzania Barcelony. Nowoczesny hotel, ładnie stylizowany, z wszystkimi udogodnieniami, nienagannie czysty, z pięknie zaaranżowanym ogrodem z basenem, wygodnymi leżakami i kojacą muzyką w tle, również w ogrodzie, tuż przy wspaniałej, długiej, piaszczystej plaży i ciepłym, płytkim, blekitnym morzu.

Brak soli i pieprzu na stołach przy śniadaniu. Dość długie oczekiwanie na obsługę w barze.

Constant fan on would help with the noise and potentially very warm room in summer. Quick Bolt ride from the airport under 10 minutes. If you are eating there make a reservation as wait staff has their own pace, not American pace. Breakfast wasn’t included for me a platinum member, but we paid and it was incredible for American standards and very good for Europe. Next time I’d ask for the room temp to be set at 20c and constant fan from the staff, if possible

The infrastructure is great and the ambience is relaxed and nice. Rooms are not too big, but the view is very nice and the bed is comfortable. The orientation (south) is very nice as you get lots of indirect light during the summer.

The window glasses were dirty in our room, which is very bad if you are basically paying for the view. The staff are nice but too slow and a bit messy, they should be more trained. In general the quality-price ratio is not the best, but it would take really little to turn it into an amazing hotel. Clean glasses and better service would suffice. I personally liked the breakfast because I am Spanish and I love toasted bread with tomato, but maybe other nationalities would enjoy better sweet options.

Huge increase in the price of breakfast. Double the price from our last visit for a limited choice. Several plates had run out of food and hot food was not hot. Lack of staff? Later we had a cocktail which was no more than a glass full of ice and had no taste. Pillows incredibly uncomfortable. They were changed but were still uncomfortable. We had to request for our room to be serviced late in the day on one occasion. Why are there no toilets on the ground floor, and/ or near the pool?

A beautiful hotel with excellent facilities, very clean and modern rooms and lovely views of the water.

El hotel esta muy bien situado frente al mar y es un hotel bonito que cuida la estetica. La piscina tiene hamacas de calidad. El bar de la piscina esta tambien muy bonito y cuidado.

No me gusto el precio que es muy excesivo. Este precio lo podria tener todavia con mas detalles exclusivos en cuanto a decoración y calidades. Es un hotel muy agradable y cuidado pero bastante estandard. Tampoco me gustó nada que me pusieran en una habitación que al ser para personas con discapacidad no tenia mampara pero la ducha era standard . No era mas grande de lo normal lo que hacia que tubieras que poner una toalla en el suelo para contener el agua dentro de la ducha. No me parece adecuado y para una persona con discapacidad es un problema mas grande todavia que para mi.

La situación del hotel, la limpieza y las señoras de la limpieza.

El aire acondicionado perdí 2 horas con la recepcionista porque estaba a 20 grados y no hubo manera de arreglarlo. Al final bajé el disjuntor i me pasé toda la noche con frío y sin luz. Tampoco tenia servicio de hamacas el la playa, y como no se puede fumar en la terraza ni en la piscina no desayuné en el hotel y me fui a las hamacas del xiringuito de la playa y ahí también comí. Perdisteis mi desayuno, mi comida y lo que pude tomar en la piscina o terraza. La recepción a parte de la que me intentó ayudar por la noche con el aire, la verdad que muy mediocre.

We stayed here after finishing our transatlantic cruise and before we flew home. This is a small, boutique hotel which isn't really my style, but it has some incredible amenities. I would like to give it 4 1/2 "dots", but that isn't allowed. Pros: beautiful but small grounds, Nice rooms but small, excellent shower and bathroom, everything smelled incredible, I believe all rooms have an ocean view. Cons: staff needs some training - check-in took a long time, no benefit for being a lifetime Platinum member - just a small discount on the breakfast, thinnest walls of any hotel I have stayed at - could hear a couple just talking next door - they were loud, just no sound proofing. We had a great stay - we were tired and just needed to kick back. Beautiful pool area and easy access to the beach which is why we came here. Ordered a couple of room service sandwiches which were great.

We came for a staycation and right off the bat things started going wrong. 1. The "garage" is always locked and you can't drive in. If you hit the call button no one answers. We had to wait for a hotel shuttle to come and open the door and we followed behind. Same thing happened when we left. The door stays shut and you have to call to have someone let you escape this nightmare. Also the parking places are far too narrow for each car. They are all parked in like sardines and you can't even get in or out of your car door a lot of the time. Lastly the elevator from the parking is not in the garage. You have to take your bags thru a convention room to get to the other side then go up. Horrible management. 2. Checkin took 25 minutes of someone just typing crap on their terminal to get us room keys. Had to fill out 3 forms just to check in (info they already have anyway. 3. Marriott Titanium member: was offered no amenity and no free breakfast, and no upgrade, and no late checkout. Almost all Tribute properties offer free breakfast but not this one. 4. The room had 3 issues: First, my wife found some black hair on the dresser (disgusting). Then she took a "water" from the nightstand and someone had already opened the canister (again, disgusting). Then finally the A/C buttons do not work. We had to call someone to adjust the A/C and make it go from 20 to 23, which he did. We asked how to do it and he said "only we can change it and I have to come do it for you". Unacceptable. 5. We had "lunch" on the terrace the the food was dry and expensive. Plus, the wait staff is super slow. We spent 2 hours at "lunch" with our baby and only 20 minutes of this time actually eating or drinking. The rest of the 80 minutes were spent looking around wondering where our order was. wondering if we could get a drink, or wondering when we could pay bill. It took 35 minutes between us finishing and someone coming back to take our plates and our asking for the bill. The first waiter came by and totally ignored us even though he clearly saw us. Unprefessional 6. We were do disappointed by this hotel that we packed up our bags and went back home after lunch. We were happy to be gone from this nightmare hotel. We will never come back.

Comoda la posizione vicino all'aeroporto e alle spiagge. Hotel curato e pulizia della stanza e delle aree comuni eccellente.

L’insonorizzazione della camera è risultata molto scadente: si sentivano distintamente i rumori provenienti dalle camere adiacenti anche fino a tarda notte. Segnalato il problema alla reception, mi è stato risposto che sarebbe stato verificato, ma non è seguito alcun intervento concreto. Per un hotel di questa categoria, ritengo che rappresenti un evidente limite alla qualità del soggiorno e del sonno.

Viví 20 años en Gavà Mar , Conozco el Hotel muy bien . Ahora que vivo en otra ciudad , aprovecho para pasar algunos días en el hotel .

Breakfast has a great variety and is always fresh. The new gym on property is great too.

There is a major stray cat problem in the area. The loungers at the pool are covered in cat hair. The hotel finally got new bicycles, but the manager put a ridiculous policy in place where they will not give you the lock to lock the bicycles up if you go for a cycle and a coffee for example. Expect to wait at least 30 minutes for your eggs at breakfast (you have to order them from a single waiter who is too busy / never on the floor). The egg ordering system is not great. I ordered the chicken dish as my main meal from the menu (EUR30). It was literally a cut up chicken thigh (delicious) but with no side or vegetables. Some of the waiters no longer have the patience required to work in the hotel/service industry.

The best parts of my quick stay were the front desk staff and location. It’s a fresh hotel with excellent, east and safe access to beach. Easy to get around the grounds and only 10 min (20 euro) ride from airport. Many good coffee places and some restaurants close by. The room was missing facial tissues, the underside of the toilet lid wasn’t clean and I couldn’t figure out how to change the temperature (didn’t have time to ask). Again, both afternoon and evening front desk folks were very helpful.

Stayed here for several nights with my family (including young children) and had a consistently disappointing experience. This wasn’t one isolated issue—it was a pattern: * Difficulty accommodating basic room setup for a family * Lack of meaningful assistance with luggage * Slow and inattentive food service * Staff that were often disengaged * Frustrating checkout experience * Room temperature issues that were never properly resolved Individually, these things happen. Together, it reflects a hotel that is not operating at the level you would expect. What was equally disappointing was the follow-up. The response from the hotel management was largely defensive and focused on explaining away the issues rather than taking accountability for the overall experience. This property falls well short of Marriott standards, particularly for a family stay. I would not return and would recommend others look carefully at alternatives.

The location right by the beach. The quality of service and food. The interior design of the hotel gives it a very relaxing feel. The sea views from the room were really nice.

Relaxing area (no noise, no crowd) but close to everything. High quality materials (good isolation, comfortable bed, beautiful decoration). Very good restaurant (gluten-free options). Spacious, clean and well-equipped gym. Cleaning was super well-done and well-arranged (they take care about details, excellent service!). Magnificent garden with big pool. (Gluten free bakery in 5 mins walking distance.)

Tap water is highly chlorinated but it is not the fault of the hotel.

Pongo un pero a que en invierno NO EXISTE la opción de poner AIRE ACONDICIONADO en frío, con lo que la solución a estar más fresco es desconectar el aire caliente y abrir la ventana ( solución dada desde Recepción, muy amablemente) . The front desk staff are nor friendly at all. Room is dusty/not clean, and they don’t have water or tissue papers! Food is below average. Location is far from the city center.
