Breakfast was lovely, tasted really good. Room was clean and the bed was fine, just a little small. Parking was definitely a plus as well, staff was friendly. Overall good value for money!

Room was smaller than expected, looks more spacious on the photos. No AC in the room and it was pretty warm although it wasn’t really warm outside.

Great location as we were travelling to visit relatives and stopped at the Devonshire Inn for one night to break up journey. it’s close to the M1 but in scenic location. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and the food was excellent with an extensive choice. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was clean and modern. We had booked bed and breakfast. Can’t fault anything.

Lovely cosy pub, rooms were great clean and attention to detail was superb. All staff were very welcoming and so friendly, the food was amazing and such good value for money.

The only thing we found was that the room was very hot, not sure why we no heating on.

Beautiful room (Richard of Loxley), has air con and very clean. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal in the Stag restaurant was outstanding - it’s very popular so suggest booking in advance. Overall a wonderful stay.

The mattress was a bit too firm for me.

It was in a peaceful rural location. The decor was modern but it was also in keeping with an old building. Every member of staff was pleasant and helpful. The food at the Stags restaurant for breakfast and dinner was first class. The guest room we stayed in was very comfortable.

Our only issue was that the hotel’s location caused us a problem on the Saturday morning when we went to Chatsworth House country fair. There was a lot of traffic and it took almost an hour to get there. However, this could not be attributed to the hotel.

Gorgeous building and lovely modern facilities, it was very hot in the room although had a fan.., we struggled to sleep.

It was very hot in our room, I did ask to upgrade to the two rooms with air con but they were fully booked.

Stayed with friends as there was 12 of us it was brilliant that we could all eat together in a private room round a large table. Breakfast and evening meal all excellent, choice and fresh food good. Fillet steak one of the best I have had.

Food was good, room well well provisioned with fridge, milk, coffee machine, kettle, a variety of tea bags, shortbread, toiletries, and an extra sheet in case the duvet was too warm in this exceptionally hot summer.

Lack of advance clarity on the meal deal : bed, breakfast, dinner package. Dinner was a credit towards dinner, rather than a complete meal. That said, we got a great deal on the price by booking early and still felt the total cost was a good deal.

at £25 it's rather expensive for our dog. I can understand the £100 deposit, after all if it did make a mess then deduct from that.

A quiet room in a busy rural pub, bit on the small side but adequate for one night. Direct access to rooms from car park made life easy not having to go through the bar. Food was fine and breakfast was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. EV charger an added bonus.

The staff are lovely, probably the thing I will remember the most. The breakfast is great, the restaurant is great.

Different chef for breakfast the following day. First chef cooked my bacon perfect as i never eat fat but they perfected it. The following day I didnt eat the fat. Only minor and it's personal choice.

Its a very quaint, well appointed bar and restaurant, and great suite in the Sir Robin of Locksley. The staff are just amazing from front to back, welcoming, very professional, helpful to max. That room stands alone against most of the top end hotel changes you will ever go to.

When somewhere is that good, for very good reason you nit pick. Just 2 things, not to be advised on arrival how the dinner is paid for when you book dinner as part of your booking would have been nice,... still a great price but a need to know,... it could influence your selection. And to be left with no cutlery when dessert was delivered, after being told to enjoy your meal was an interesting dilemma. Again 2 minors in a sea of great positives.

Our room was very clean with exceptional quality linen and towels. Lovely complimentary toiletries. A good espresso machine with plenty of coffee pods. Bright and airy bar restaurant area, the food was excellent, (large portions). A good selection of craft beer and wine. The staff were friendly, polite, efficient and attentive.

staff challenged having a dog to stay but had communicated this ahead of stay, felt accusatory & no apology for their error bit like second class citizens with dog, sidelined to bar area which meant staff didn't take breakfast order without chasing room very narrow, wooden blinds don't work well with air circulation, very stuffy in the night

We stayed here for one night of our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it! The team was extremely nice and kind and! We LOVED the restaurant for dining and breakfast! Also, a big thanks for giving us the biggest room! It feels like a family hotel! We loved it!

Parking is limited and I had to park on the roadside for a while, but plenty of spaces when the pub closed. Would have been helpful to know this.

The 2 nights we stayed were really pleasant. We had lunch on the second day and the food was delicious. Everyone is so friendly and very welcoming. Our room was very clean and having a fridge was a pleasant surprise. We would definitely stay again and we recommend this highly.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was phenomenal; so much food and choice!! Cereals, fruit juice, cooked breakfast, continential breakfast and coffees - all in with the room price and it was good quality. I'm gluten intolerant too, and it wasn't a problem - still a great choice of food. I will definitely go there again!

There wasn't anything not to like! Setting was stunning with beautiful walks just outside the door. I absolutely loved it!

The staff from reception to kitchen to bar to housekeeping were all most welcoming and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The bedrooms and public areas were all immaculate and the food was excellent. The overall feeling was of a staff who got on well together to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere throughout the property.

A little bit tucked away, but within easy reach of both Sheffield and Chesterfield. A wonderful country pub atmosphere, with an excellent restaurant. The staff were all extremely friendly and eager to please, and the bedroom was spacious and spotlessly clean with modern fittings. The beds were comfortable and there were nice touches, such as fresh milk in a small fridge and home made shortbread biscuits. Breakfast was plentiful and of great quality, and the evening meal had plenty of choice and was well cooked - the usual gastropub type of menu.

Room and general condition of the property was generally good. The room was thoughtfully set up with important Littleton’s like disposable slippers, bath robes etc.

The food was very disappointing. Battered fish was greasy and soggy, chips were soggy and soft. ( obviously frying oil not hot enough) Mussels dish half inedible due to grit still in the shell. And quantity of mussels for a main course was pitiful, in most restaurants it would be a starter. Breakfast a similar lack of attention, sausages completely without colour, looked raw!! Until food improves will not patronise again.

lovely place, stayed 3 times now while visiting family in the area. The service is always great, food is delicious and rooms are very comfortable and spotless.

There isn't a huge amount of parking available on site, lots of people tend to park on the road. However, we've always managed to get a space in the carpark.
