Very good but not a lot of choice at breakfast in morning for coeliac. Could had bread cereal in sealed pack . Also cakes didn't like asking for bread all the time .

We found the property very dated and quite expensive for the price. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The breakfast started to late to try.

The hotel staff were all lovely and would go the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the room spotless. We really enjoyed the swimming pool

The breakfast buffet was average and the coffee from a a machine was undrinkable. The hotel process itself on its good but while the lamb and the steak were good the vegetarian offerings were very poor and uninspired

Great hotel

Room very clean. Quick check in at reception. Staff very friendly. We were unable to book an accessible room so my mum was allowed to use the accessible shower in the spa area to shower as she was unable to access the shower in our room. Very good proportions served in the restaurant and the breakfast choice was excellent.

There was no air con and the room we had was stifling. Windows opened and fan on didn’t help as just circulated hot air. Mattress was like sleeping on the floor. Too hard for our liking.

The room was a good size and the bed was good

It was very hot in the room and the window would only open 4 inches, there was a fan but was very old. The bathroom was nice but there was a drain smell constantly. The hotel was nice but in need of an update and the whole place just seems tired.

Children from a noisy wedding party running around the stairs and corridors. The staff on arrival in reception and in the bar were very untidy and looked grubby.

Very grand hotel. Helpful staff. Great place.

Staff were very friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our evening meal in Spencer's Brasserie.

Decor was a little tired. No bottled water provided in the room, which I would think should be a necessity during the current heatwave that the UK is experiencing. No shower cap provided.

Location at centre of town and ample parking. Also bed was very comfortable and en suite bathroom very well appointed. Facilities in hotel for meals and spa.

The swimming pool, Well heated. Staff was good, Particularly Millicent and some asian guy! So wonderful people. Millicent was always ready to help out, got loads of tips on navigating the fun places within Llandrindod.

No Refridgerator in the room. Brought in snacks for the weekend as it ‘s hard as hell getting things you need from the town. All my snacks got spoilt due to the lack of a fridge. Also no air-con, but a fan was provided but still not catching it., Opening the windows, had moths and insects flying in.

This hotel is in a great location and is a period property with a lot of history , All the staff are very helpful , the breakfast option is buffet style and is plentiful , the property has a great gym and pool area , overall great for a single night or a couple of nights / weekend , Rooms are clean and functional overall a great stay

Th Only thing i didn't like was the time of my stay the UK was experience some hot weather in excess of 30degress which despite the hotel trying to keep rooms cool , my room was hot. The team did supply a fan to generate some cool air but do to this being a period property rooms do not have Airconditioning

We asked for a superior room and got a family room viz a double bed room and a separate twin bunks room Also there was 1 TEA BAG EACH and 1BISCUIT EACH the hairdryer was dangerous

The history of the hotel was really interesting, the overall vibe was grand. The gym was a standout, the spa and pool were good during the heat. Though they could have made the pool cooler.

Though the reception staff were lovely, the bistro and restaurant staff were rude and seemed kind of miserable. Really made you feel like they could not wait for you to leave. The pool and spa need cleaning and better upkeep. The room was boiling hot during the heatwave and needs upgrading to provide a comfortable sleep and stay. The food was mostly good except for the disappointing and dry packed lunch. This was made by a chef?

Show temperature couldn’t be adjusted from ridiculously hot to cool. South facing windows was like sleeping in a greenhouse. Telephone room doesn’t work instructions tell you to use your mobile and dial number for reception but nobody answers it.. not enough sockets to charge your phone iPad, et cetera. Socket also in the wrong place I not near the bed. Room is very poor condition with paint chipped off years ago. Wallpaper looks like somebody’s been sick on it. You look out of the window beneath you are four panes of broken glass. Duty manager was dismissive when I asked if he would come and look at the room to demonstrate the shower didn’t work. He said “I’m familiar with the room.I don’t need to see it.” when you pay £191 for a room you imagine it’s going to be good. This was without a doubt the worst HOTEL i’ve ever stayed at in this country.

Breakfast really good, plenty of choice, well presented, hot. Enjoyed the leisure facilities

Breakfast good though not great. Coffee machine produced very average coffee. Rooms very comfortable but no aircon and it was warm. Reception did provide me a fan so they were helpful. Location great. Good parking facilities. Dinner at the hotel was very good and good value.

Breakfast plentiful but quality average and coffee decidedly average from the machines. Rooms had no aircon and the shower in my room wouldn't go hot. Luke warm at best. I did ask for them to look at it but it seems there is nothing they can do. So it is a lottery in terms of which room you get and whether the hot water reaches yours. Some of the areas of the hotel look a bit tired.

Very good staff, beautiful decor, fantastic location, history of the building information was very interesting and a great night's sleep in a very comfortable bed..

building and interior very tired and run down not quite what we expected for such a well known reputable hotel Breakfast was passable not very appetising

Room was clean and quiet. breakfast had good choices.

There was no bottled water in the room - which is pretty standard these days. and considering the hot weather it would have been good. There was only a small glass to use from the bathroom and only luke warm water to drink from the tap. I would have told the staff had they asked about my stay on check out.

Lunch and dinner was lovely. Staff were great - very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would do differently next time is to ask for a room which faces the rear of the hotel as the room we had faced the road and it was really noisy from the traffic from around 5am.

The food in Spencer's brasserie was lovely, the breakfast at the hotel was great, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay, and would definitely return in the future.

The room we had could do with an update, but the bathroom was modern, and it did have a certain charm.

The meals were very good, 1st time I saw my 4 year old daughter enjoying the kids menu.

A bit pricey for the standard of the place. The small lift was boarding on claustrophobic. The first time I ever experienced that feeling and never got in that lift again.

Must praise the food available in both the bar and dining room where the staff were very pleasant as were the receptionists. Rooms were clean and well serviced.

The hotel has become shabby and in need of renovation. Bathroom plumbing was not reliable. No instructions for shower operation and no indication of where to find the razer socket. Health and Safety compliance is lacking.

Great Amenities, Miserable Room Comfort I wanted to love this stay, but the room comfort was so poor I wouldn’t return. The Bad: The Heat: The room was an absolute sauna with zero ventilation (windows barely open). The small table fan provided by staff did nothing. It was a sleepless night. The Bathroom: The shower felt 80 years old with a weak, sputtering flow. Outlets: Only two electric sockets in the entire room, which is highly inconvenient today. Property: There was a terrible, foul smell lingering throughout the parking lot. The Good: Amenities & Food: The well-maintained gym and swimming pool were a great escape from the hot room, and the food was surprisingly delicious. Verdict: Great food and leisure, but the hotel desperately needs to upgrade its rooms and plumbing.

The room ,staff, facilities ,breakfast were all top notch ! Great welcoming staff couldn't do enough,rooms beautifully clean,children were thrilled with joining room instead of all being crammed in the same room, pool facilities wonderful again staff there are outstanding. I wish there was a fan in room as weather was particularly hot on our stay. over all I would 100% recommend to all I will definitely stay again.

I wish there was fan in room. Unfortunately old buildings you can't open window wide so this is not an issue for us as we fully understand stafy regulations. But room was very warm. And we did not go down to see if one could be provided so not really a complaint .

each time our meal at spencers has been spoilt by a large group of very noisy men , a good maitre would have asked them to tone it down , inability to put a gratuity on the card short changes the good staff in spencers , the breakfast coffee machine should include a decaff option

Brasserie lacking atmosphere as it was very quiet when we visited. Restaurant was better. Limited menu which was not to my personal preferences however it was very well cooked and presented.

Cleanliness of the lift floor, in the lifts was poor and got worse over the weekend. On the 4th floor shower impossible to get above warm, almost cold. When I spoke about it at reception the gentleman on duty just pointed out how full they were.

Breakfasts were brilliant. The room was adequate in size, very clean. The lifts worked well, and the car park was excellent. All the staff were friendly and very helpful.

There was no safe in the room (however the leaflet said there was), and no fridge. However, these did not detract from our short stay at this hotel.

The 2 members of staff at Breakfast were not very helpful and didnt make sure items on buffet were replenished. When asked for pastries 30 mins before end of service I was told they didnt think there was anymore. I asked him to check and he teturned with only 6 tiny items . Quite a few people arrived after me so they were not catered for. Before end of service(about 15mins) the hot Buffet was closed down. Not something I have ever experienced before in a hotel that size and rating.

Stay was great, breakfast was great, rooms were clean.

The rooms and hallways were old and not in a charming old European way. Our room had water stains along the wall and wall paper pealing. Carpet was old with holes in it.

Decor needed updating especially in corridors. Basic offering of tea and coffee, have been supplied with superior drinks tray at more humble hotels. Evening meals in Brasserie were not very appealing or tasty. Cocktails were nice but quite expensive. QR code for hotel information did not link through and so couldn't view menus etc. and there was no printed information. Lounge, although a very comfortable environment, was rather cold.

Unique hotel, good speedy check in, nice spa facility. Beautiful area.

Room had damp on one wall with wallpaper peeling off in one area which was a shame, as I noticed redecoration taking place in some areas.
