All was very good

Hotel is a great location and the front office staff was wonderful and helpful. The room was nice and clean. Balcony was clean as well and I had a beautiful view of both the ocean.

The auto shut off of the a/c overnight was frustrating, I had to get up every 2 hrs to turn it back on. the restaurant staff was a bit of a challenge. I used Google translate and still had a hard time ordering the 3 meals that I had. None of the food matched the description and when I asked for something to be taken off, something else was added.

El concepto es bueno pero ya no resulta excepcional, se queda simplemente en satisfactorio

La oferta de servicios ha empeorado: ya no hay camas balinesas en el beach club, menor horario de atención en cafetería, peor calidad de comida en La Gaviota, menos servicio en general.

Los desayunos espectaculares, la habitación muy cómoda y limpia, y el personal que trabaja en el hotel (muy simpáticos y agradables).

El parking que lo han puesto de pago, con lo que pagamos creo que se debería cubrir el parking.

Das Hotel ist direkt am Meer und hat eine wunderschöne Terrasse. Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet.

Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer für 4, aber das Bett für das zweite Kind war ziemlich ungemütlich.

Nos encantó, volveríamos a repetir, súper limpio, sorprendentes vistas al Mar.

Klimaanlage in 1. Zimmer kaputt. Im 2. Zimmer war die Schiebetür zum Balkon nur mit großem Kraftaufwand zu öffnen. Der Blieck war auf ein Dach mit Bitumenschweißbahnen und alten Klimaanlagen. Der Bitumen stank in der Sonne, der Boden war griebellig also nicht sauber. Das 3. Zimmer war i.O.

Por decir algo por mejorar vi el billar muy viejo y deteriorado.

Su hubicacion, fuy xq sabía q está a pié d playa, además como somos ya mayores, cogimos una mini Suite para evitar escaleras, rampas, etc...y tenerlo todo a mano.

Éste año estaba la playa invadida x algas, el olor era insoportable, si queríamos bañarnos, teníamos q andar mucho hasta llegar a una zona q no hubiera llegado, pero era imposible. El ayuntamiento x la mñn las quitaba, y a medio día/tarde ya estaban otra vez allí. Al costar tan cara la suite, 400€/noche, pensaba q el hotel tendría algún detalle con nosotros, pero NO, hasta los sobrecillos d té o café te lo cobran.

Quizá en el buffet un poco más de variedad en el pescado y una pena que la playa tuviera algas ,pero la ubicación del hotel es increíble

Habitaciones muy viejas con baños que no están a la altura de un hotel de 4 estrellas sino más bien de una pensión.

Sorprenden las habitaciones. Comodísimas, muy grandes y muy completas. Mucho almacenaje, cocina, ducha grande y cómoda.

Me gustó todo, por decir algo no me gustó que el parking no está incluido. Funciona como un parking público.

A veces la bebida en el buffet tardaban en llevártela a la mesa y ya habías comido un plato.

Cobrar 400€ por poner una cuna los días de estancia.Normalmente no cobran por niños de 0 años, para futuras estancias nos echará para atrás

Malgré une offre variée et de qualité au dîner, ça reste toujours pareil chaque soir et sur plusieurs jours. Des riz cuisinés, de la paëlla, 1 ou 2 thématiques ou encore la fideuada auraient été appréciés par ex. Certains plats étaient froids dès le début du service. La salle de musculation / gym pourrait être améliorée, elle à le mérite d’exister.

We’ve just finished our week long stay in Hotel Playa de la Luz and we’re really sad to be leaving and would definitely look to return. Like the other reviews say, the hotel is very Spanish which is part of its charm. When we first arrived we were allocated a small room but on enquiry were given a bigger room on the ground floor by the very helpful reception staff. This was perfect for our family. We went with grandparents and a 5 year old and 7 year old. There was something for everyone. It was also the perfect size for us, not too big. The kids were in and out of the kids club most days, the water carpet was out multiple times a day which was great fun (special mention due here for the wonderful lady life guard keeping a real close eye on the safety of all the kids), they joined in with water aerobics, dancing and football. There is table tennis and a pool table. The beach is right outside the hotel and the sea was lovely and warm. We watched the sunset on the beach a couple of nights. We also walked to Rota along the beach a couple of times, they had really toilets, bars and drinks carts at multiple parts along the way. The food at the restaurant was lovely. There was so much variety for breakfast. The food in the other hotel restaurants was lovely and the prices for the food and drinks were very reasonable, with a large beer only costing €3.50 and a glass of wine €3.30. We went to a lovely local cafe/bar called Martinica’s for lunch a couple of times and it’s only a 5-10 min walk from the hotel, would definitely recommend if you’re staying.

Me gusto la ubicación, zona tranquila en la playa. Y restaurantes cerca. La piscina y el jardin central de la piscina, huéspedes tranquilos. El desayuno relativamente bien, la chica que hacia las tortillas muy simpatica!

Los camarer@s, del Bar Dos Mares de la piscina, atienen bien, pero en tres ocasiones tardaron mucho en atender... pero mucho. No todos, tengo que decir que un camarero era atento y estaba a todo.

Me gusto....Todo en General.Todo magnifico y el trato inmejorable de todo el equipo del hotel.

La comida

Nuestra experiencia en este hotel fue muy decepcionante. Nos alojamos durante 5 días y en ningún momento nos cambiaron las sábanas, algo que consideramos básico en una estancia de este tipo. Además, nos encontramos con varios gastos adicionales que no se informaban en ningún sitio antes de llegar. Para utilizar la piscina había que pagar 6 € por persona y día, y también era de pago el uso de las hamacas del paseo de la playa, sin que esta información apareciera claramente en la reserva ni en la información del hotel. La habitación presentaba falta de limpieza y un olor bastante desagradable desde el primer día, lo que hizo que la estancia fuera aún menos cómoda. Por último, el trato recibido por parte de las recepcionistas dejó mucho que desear. Fueron poco amables y, en varias ocasiones, bastante mal educadas, dando la sensación de que cualquier consulta era una molestia. En definitiva, una experiencia muy por debajo de lo esperado. No volveríamos ni lo recomendaríamos.

La cena no merece la pena.

Just returned from Playa del la luz. This is deffinatly not a 4 🌟hotel. We would say more on the 3🌟rating . If you are staying in the older part of the hotel, rooms are small a quiet cramped for a family. Fridge was put in the bathroom 🤢. Apparently some areas have had re furnished rooms which is where they may gain a 4🌟. Kids club is all in Spanish and English children found them selves to be isolated due to the language barrier. Life guards stopped all ball playing in the pool and removed any that were used for playing catch etc Food at the pool bar was okay. Food is the restaurant was also good but very repetitive. Staff were polite. Check what concerts are scheduled before you stay. There is a local football stadium which hosted 2 gigs whilst we were there. Started at 10pm and finished at 5/6 am. The volume is so loud it was impossible to sleep. We complained to the hotel but there was no where to move to which was quieter due to the volume. It literally feels like it is outside your room. It's so loud. We had no sleep at all for 2 consecutive nights . It was awful. Rota is a short taxi ride away. Has a lovely beach and ice cream parlours but not much to do for children. A few gift shops .We managed to walk around in about an hour shopping as so small. This hotel and the area is more of a couples holiday and if you want relaxing its perfect. For all families with children I would avoid . Its limited it what the area and hotel can offer for families. It is very Spanish and I feel they need to decide whether they prefer it that way or they expand and relax on what is acceptable and enjoyable for families with children . Will not be returning.

Well where do I start ,Good points staff friendly and helpful, food was excellent 👌. Bad points our room was small and couldn't use the fridge as it was in the toilet 🤔 .The room needs updating as well ,pool area the sunbeds were something from the 80s so uncomfortable 😫, kids wanting to play in the pool was a no no .No balls allowed no entertainment around the pool.This hotel is not suitable for English families 😑, Every thing is in Spanish and kids clubs are Spanish too.Was glad to get home.

Como aspectos a mejorar, el aire acondicionado se desconecta automáticamente cada cierto tiempo, lo que resulta incómodo durante las horas de descanso. Además, las actuaciones musicales se prolongan en horarios poco adecuados para quienes desean descansar. El desayuno merece una revisión urgente. No es un problema de variedad, sino de calidad: productos de baja gama, mantequilla y margarina servidas a granel, embutidos de escasa calidad y ausencia de zumos naturales, sustituidos por una máquina de bebidas a base de concentrados. En mi opinión, ha sido el bufé de desayuno de peor calidad que he encontrado en un hotel de esta categoría.

Quem procura um hotel com os pés na areia, pois bem este hotel está a 10 metros da praia, problema, a praia está infestada de algas, tornando impossível qualquer incursão e entrada na água.

Great hotel on the beach. Huge clean room with massive bathroom and separate toilet. Kettle, fridge and sink. The main pool area is very noisy great if you’re with kids. There’s a separate beach club which is €3 for hotel guests. Peaceful and quiet with lovely loungers and a separate pool .drinks are well priced. The onsite tapas bar is great. Very reasonably priced. The restaurant is a little pricey but great sea views. You can walk along the seafront to Rota which is a great Spanish seaside town with shops bars and restaurants. €5 in a taxi from the hotel. It is a very Spanish resort but that suited us. Only negatives. Breakfast is a bit of a scrum. If it’s included go with it. If not go into the town and get a tostado. Our hairdryer kept cutting out and the receptionist assured me that was normal! €15 to park the car is pricey but it is a spacious car park and as we had a brand new hire car decided to go for it. Staff in the main were very friendly and helpful. The seaweed is an issue at the moment but they’re doing their best to clear it on a daily basis.

Experiencia para repetir, instalaciones, comodidad…un sitio increíble. El hotel tiene aparcamiento privado, pero justo por la parte lateral hay otro aparcamiento de tierra muy cómodo para poder dejar el coche. El primer día no lo vimos y aparcamos un poco lejos.

Algo totalmente ajeno al hotel es el tema de la playa, está llena de algas que retira el ayuntamiento todos los días pero que hace que el baño sea desagradable, por lo que el acceso directo del hotel a la playa pierde su encanto.

Very clean facilities throughout and a great location.

Value for money ... We paid €1.2k for 5 nights in a junior suite and for that we had to: -Source and pay for our own water (not provided in rooms) this is not a great welcome to guests. -The upstairs pool and area ("Beach Club") costs €15 per day. -To obtain a towel, you must leave a cash deposit of €20...we had no cash so we used the hotel ATM which entailed a surcharge of €4 -Parking is €25 a day -Bicycles are €15 a day Always happy to pay surcharges for exclusive hotel amenities but water should be a basic provision to guests and when guests are already paying a premium of €235 per night it doesn't seem fair that there are so many extra payments. A final note, we were celebrating our honeymoon which I had mentioned when booking the accommodation...there was no mention of it, no note, nothing - we did not feel entitled to anything but as this was our 5th hotel on our honeymoon, it was the only one that didn't bother. Again...price does not align with level of hospitality, please review this.

Llevo yendo al hotel Playa de la Luz más de 25 años, donde hemos repetido tanto con nuestros hijos como solos y casi siempre muy bien.

He de decir que siempre nos han tratado muy bien, pero hemos notado en los dos o tres últimos años un deterioro en la atención del personal del restaurante en el desayuno así como una bajada en la calidad de los zumos y especialmente el café. Ya no ponen ningún tipo de mantelería en las mesas y ni siquiera dejan, como hacían anteriormente, un recipiente para los residuos propios del desayuno

A lot of potential and nice layout.

A lot of potential but completely lack of management skills or lack of management. Procedures 10000 years just too old designed just to make the life of the employee easier and a pain for the paying customer. I would have spent a fortune at the bar by the pool, but staff is just incompetent. Pool chair? Pay extra. Beach chair? Pay for them. Parking? Pay every time you go in and out. Pay extra Towels? Need to go ask at Front Desk Charge to the room? Go to front desk Need an extra key? Catch it? Because they don’t know how to give things to your hand…

Fantastic hotel if you need a quiet, relaxing holiday. The facilities of the pool, rooftop pool, bar and restaurants are extremely good. The hotel is exceptionally clean and well maintained. We cannot fault the staff here. Always greeted with smile, and nothing is too much trouble. They are all a credit to the hotel!!!

La paz

Lo que más nos gustó fue la piscina, el buffet y la habitación que era en planta baja con jardín y hamacas.

Los puntos de recarga. Dejan el coche cargando y cuando termina de cargar no lo retiran para ser usado por otro cliente y desde recepción dicen que no pueden hacer nada. Hubo un Audi que se pegó 2 días estacionado allí sin dejar usar el punto de recarga habiendo terminado varias horas antes de recargar y lo mismo con un Ranger Rover que estuvo toda la noche sin recargar estacionado en el otro punto de recarga. Una pena.

La atencion del personal. En especial la de una empleada llamada Isabel.

Lo unico que no me ha gustado ha sido el conseguir hamacas en la piscina. La gente baja antes de las 9 de la.mañana, les ponen toallas y se van. NUNCA hay tumbonas!. He estado 3 dias y no he podido utilizar ninguna. Eso es lo unico que cambiaria.

Great location, clean, tidy rooms with comfortable beds. Lacking in fresh food but the food did the job. Friendly service and a great atmosphere given we were there for the reballution pickleball tournament which was only a very short walk away, Right on the beach too. I can recommend and will definitely return

Ruhige Lage

Ich hatte ein sehr geräumiges und helles Zimmer (155) mit Wasserkocher und Kühlschrank. In der Anlage gibt es verschiedene Bereiche mit Sonnenliege und so kann man immer einen schönen Platz finden - am Pool - auf dem Sonnendach oder an der Terrasse am Meer. Die Damen an der Rezeption waren sehr freundlich

Für das Parken auf dem Hotelgelände war extra zu zahlen

Extremely expensive car parking costs.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, great facilities and great location. My only criticism is the very expensive paid parking. Car park remained mostly empty so I'm not the only person to have noticed this.

Camera molto grande e pulita. Colazione eccellente. Parcheggio a pagamento. Molto buono anche il ristorante dove poter mangiare la sera.
