Bed linen was great quality, as were the shampoo, body wash and hair conditioner provided. The building is gorgeous and beautifully developed. The location was good too: fairly central but quiet. Reception staff were very professional.

From the photos on the booking.com website, I was expecting a minibar. On arrival, there was nothing, apart from basic coffee and tea facilities, with two teeny 10ml containers of milk. Even that was not replenished by room service on day 2. The fridge was bare. On further investigation, it was apparent that you could ask for the minibar to be stocked, but items would, of course, be chargeable. The hospitality offer was basic and certainly not as generous or imaginative as the photos on the booking.com website would indicate. Overall, the five stars are not merited in my view.

Excellent hotel. Very attractive XV century building meticulously renovated. Friendly and efficient reception. Nice bar. Silent room with very good bed and all comfort. Walking distance from the grand place. Breakfast is copious and served in an marvelous setting.

Cet hôtel mérite votre passage pour 3 raisons La beauté du lieu. Le vieux a été préservé tout en modernisant avec beaucoup de talent et de réussite. Le petit déjeuner. Très varié, c'est surtout la qualité exceptionnelle des ingrédients qui va vous surprendre. Le personnel. C'est à leur gentillesse et leur classe qu'on devrait accorder les 5 étoiles en priorité. En bonus, vous avez le spa et les soins de beauté réalisés par d'excellentes professionnelles.

Après signalement, un technicien a solutionné le problème L’hôtel a besoin d’être rénové Dommage qu’il n’y ait pas une petite attention pour les clients qui reviennent, d’autres hôtels le font… Le restaurant comme signalé précédemment n’a pas été amélioré

De kamer was heel goed verzorgd en ik had gevraagd om de kamer elke dag voor 13 h te kuisen werd zonder problemen uitgevoerd. Ik had gevraagd om een inloopdouche te hebben gezien onze leeftijd, dit was men vergeten maar ik heb zonder problemen de juiste kamer bekomen en men heeft zelfs standaard een een robber mat bezorgd tegen het uitschuiven onder de douche dit is wat ik noem service.

De parking was enkel mogelijk als men de sleutel afgaf, want het parkeren werd uitgevoerd door het personeel. Hier hou ik niet van ik heb een erg nieuwe wagen welke een computersturing heeft. Ook was de prijs € 40 per dag niet goedkoop, een alternatieve parking was niet dicht tegen het hotel. Spijtig want dit was het enige negatieve punt.

The room was attractive and clean.

The coffee machine didn't work and dumped water all over the table. One of the lamps did not work. I left my medicine and the hotel was not able to respond appropriately - it was an emergency but I had to call several times and then they had only their routine for forwarding lost and found. Of course, this was completely my error but I would have hoped for 'concierge' quality assistance and this they were not able to provide.

We know this hotel, stayed here before and coming here sometimes for a drink at their bar. The hotel is one of the most beautiful buildings in Lille, all the spaces, including the spa. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, the bed is super comfortable, the staff workers are kind and helpful. The shared spaces are amazing as well.

I liked absolutely everything- but it would be great to have a bit more fresh veggies and fruit during breakfast.

Ça n’est pas un hôtel 5 étoiles. Personne ne nous a porté nos valises ni accompagné à notre chambre. Dans la chambre les meubles sont vraiment pas de gamme, des lampes IKEA défoncées. Les fenêtres sont du simple vitrage. Le spa est vraiment moyen, la piscine assez laide.

La très grande qualité de l’accueil et la gentillesse des équipes , ainsi que l’écoute des clients . Le cadre magnifique et authentique .

Great location within walking distance of the train stations (I used both Lille Flanders and Lille Europe) wheeling a medium suitcase. Only 10 minutes to the city squares. Very quiet room looking onto courtyard, felt private. Very comfy bed! Also plenty of clothing storage space enough for a dance floor! Good wifi and friendly reception staff.

Terrasse de l'estaminet sans charme ni plantes, digne d'une friterie. Pourrait être aménagée comme dans un 4-5 étoiles. Tres petit placard dans la chambre, très insuffisant pour 2 nuits. Il n'y a pas de parking comme mentionné, mais un service voiturier pour mettre le véhicule en parking public.

Het ontbijt was heel lekker! Alleen jammer dat het roerei geen echt ei was, maar poeder. De badkamer was goed uitgerust en de body lotion en zeep hadden een heerlijke geur! Het personeel was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaaml; De Spa was ook heel fijn.

Ik vroeg aan de receptie oordopjes (voor tijdens het slapen) maar die waren er niet (meer). Dat is jammer.

J’ai aimé l’emplacement, le lieu en lui même est splendide, le confort de la chambre, la piscine et hamman, la gentillesse du personnel. Cet hôtel est Dog friendly. Nous avons été chouchoutes avec mes deux petits chiens. J’ai aimé l’histoire aussi, c’est un lieu très particulier car c’est un ancien hospice.

Le restaurant n’est vraiment pas à la hauteur du standing de l’hôtel Mauvaise expérience ! La chambre est classique , quelques petits détails pourraient être perfectibles pour ce type d’hôtel

L'accueil, le fait de se "perdre" dans les couloirs, la majesté du lieu et un petit-déjeuner certes onéreux mais à la hauteur de son tarif. Tout est pensé pour accueillir dans le confort et répondre aux clients. Les personnes au petit-déjeuner étaient très aimables, conversation agréable, aux petits soins. La chambre était spacieuse et comme demandé très calme, avec une petite entrée qui garantit la discrétion. Bouteille d'eau, café, thé. Quand au lit: un nuage. Nous n'avons qu'une hâte: y retourner!

La chambre était située un peu en bout d’aile d’un côté assez authentique mais en manque de rénovation quand même La chambre était très bien avec un joli plafond avec poutre mais il y avait sur un côté une planche de contre plaque Pas de lave main dans les toilettes et baignoire et pas de douche

Very quiet. Historical interesting building. Different from the cookie cutter mainstream hotels.

Inadequate tea/coffee/milk. Shower was well below expected standard for this level of hotel. Coffee machine power plug didn’t work and provided cups didn’t fit in the machine. So some basics just were not adequate.

Prachtig historisch gebouw, met moderne luxe. Mooie eigentijdse kunstwerken maakten een prachtig geheel met de bewaarde historie.

De Estaminet had een wel zeer beperkte kaart. Viel uit de toon bij de prijs van het verblijf.

It is simply beautiful. The facilities, food, drink and service we received were nothing less than amazing from start to finish! It was my friends 50th birthdays weekend away and they gave us wine, chocolate and close together rooms as we requested!

I am absolutely blown away by my stay at L'Hermitage Gantois. From the moment I stepped onto the property, I knew I was in for something special. The architecture is truly mind-blowing; it is a masterful blend of history and elegance that makes every corner of the hotel a sight to behold. ​Everything about our stay was perfect. Beyond the breathtaking design, the service was impeccable—the staff were professional, welcoming, and truly went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. It is rare to find a place that excels so thoroughly in both atmosphere and hospitality. ​This was a highlight of our trip, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you appreciate beauty, history, and top-tier service, this is the place to stay. I am already looking forward to my next visit!⅝

Très bel établissement dans un cadre historique. Possibilité de visiter le centre de Lille à pied ( 10 minutes de la grand place). Station de métro à 200m pour visiter les environs. Très bon petit déjeuner.

Éclairage insuffisant dans la salle de bain.

Prachtige accommodatie in oud hospitaal/klooster met de mogelijkheid te verblijven in de oude kamers van de zusters. Veel karakter en veel ruimte en zicht op een binnentuin in een kamer waar veel oude infrastructuur bewaard werd. Even wennen maar het is de moeite waard. Wie van cultuur houdt zal het hotel anderen; het is eigenlijk ook een soort museum. het hotel heeft een klein restaurant (alweer vriendelijke bediening en advies bij selectie van wijn). Geen parking on site maar parkeren op straat kan (verschillennde apps bruikbaar) en parkeergarages zijn een korte wandeling verwijderd.

Het ontbijt werd 'gerund' door zeer vriendelijke medewerkers, maar het aanbod was basic.

Our stay started with an amazing first impression thanks to the reception and bar staff(14/05/2026). From the first day, they treated us with great respect and were incredibly welcoming. The bar staff were fantastic, and I would definitely recommend trying the cocktails – they were excellent! The room was very clean, and the hotel itself is absolutely stunning. It feels more like staying in a museum because of its beautiful design and atmosphere. The location is also great, only about a 10-minute walk to the city center.

The only downside was the breakfast area staff. Unfortunately, they seemed a bit disorganized and gave the impression that guests were not very welcome.
