Coffee...not the French way. Cups do not hold the heat. Too many stairs from the 3rd floor to the lower floor...replace the carpet on the stairs for this steep staircase.

A beautiful historical hotel in the centre of Beaune. Very well furnished bedrooms with very comfy beds and Clarins toiletries! Lovely breakfast and excellent service.

Hôtel Abbaye de Maizières is a really special hotel. The location is fantastic, the building is beautiful and historic, and it’s full of quirky little features that give it loads of character. The staff were also genuinely friendly and welcoming. They are welcoming to dogs too. Our bed was very comfortable and the bathroom, while very historic in style, was lovely. Unfortunately, the heat in the room completely ruined the experience for us. It was honestly the hottest hotel room we have ever stayed in and none of us (we had 2 rooms) slept at all. There was an old air-conditioning unit, but it was almost useless, and the fan in the room was broken. Such a shame, because everything else about the hotel was excellent and we really wanted to love it. With effective air conditioning, this could easily have been a 5-star stay.

Sanitair was aan verbetering toe , bad werkte niet , airco maakte heel veel lawaai , de afdekplaatjes van het toilet vielen er af , en dat voor een dure suite

l'hôtel se trouve au cœur du centre ville et à 2 pas du marché le samedi matin. En revanche, pour garer la voiture il faut aller au parking de la bibliothèque. La chambre très agréable avec un grand lit , nous avons très bien dormi. Nous avons pris le petit déjeuner dans la grande salle de l'abbaye, endroit impressionnant par son architecture.

We stayed for 4 nights in June. The hotel was steeped in history being located in the centre of Beaune, housed in a 12th-century former Cistercian Abbey. It is an ideal location to explore the town and Burgundy region. The reception area with bar and breakfast tables was particularly impressive. Our room was a duplex type with a lovely en-suite and was located on the top floor. While there is a significant climb to the top, the hotel does not possess a lift, the staff were happy to take baggage both to and from the room. Air conditioning was absolutely essential as temperatures edged towards 40 Celsius while we were in France. Breakfast in the cooler reception area was well produced and delicious. The staff were happy to cater for your own particular requirements though we tended to opt for an omelette with a variety of fillings during the stay. We also used the indoor pool each day to cool off, and while it is comparatively small it was easily sufficient for the two of us to relax after a full day exploring the vineyards of the region. I would add that we also made good use of their sister company Safari Tours to explore and wine taste. I would certainly recommend them to anyone considering a guided wine tasting. Overall a very memorable experience and a highlight of our trip to France.

3 étages a monter a pied le long d'un escalier en colimaçon. Climatisation bruyante qui ne fonctionne pas très bien. Piscine dans un état qui n'est pas très engageant. Odeur de renfermé, voir de moisi a certains endroit. Nous n'avons pas osé mettre la tête sous l'eau et avons préféré retourner dans nos chambres

Tout était parfait. Un cadre magnifique, un personnel parfait, l accueil au top, le petit déjeuner etait copieux et de qualité. Toute l équipe etait disponible et de bons conseils. Je recommande cet établissement de grande qualité.

suite junior = une chambre normal avec un canapé . TV petit et ancien . en soit la chambre est correcte , mais le rapport qualité prix n'y est pas . peut etre est ce normal à Beaune que l'herbergement soit excessivement cher. Concernant le couchange, j'ai senti une barre transversal au niveua des reins ( 1.85m , 90kg)

They are not kidding about the stairs however we loved having that extra bit of exercise each day! The pool was too hot to use, bed was comfy. Had to ask for a tea kettle and also was told they ran out of mugs which was odd in that they have a restaurant downstairs... Location was excellent. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Rented electric bikes and did the wine path even in the extreme heat. The market was super fun & restaurants were excellent. Our favorite village in all of southern France!!

Sehr schönes altes Gebäude in sehr ruhiger Innenstadtlage. Frühstücksraum im beeindruckenden Gewölbekeller. Kostenlose Parkplätze in Laufweite am Boulevard Clemenceau.

Unser Zimmer im obersten Stockwerk war nur über eine steile Wendeltreppe zu erreichen. Das Zimmer war zudem sehr hellhörig. Beim Frühstück wurde nur den französischsprachigen Gästen das gesamte Angebot an Wurst und Käse erklärt. Die Freundlichkeit einiger Mitarbeiter ließ zu Wünschen übrig.

Sa salle de réception qui est juste incroyable et qui nous replonge 1000 ans en arrière… et les chambres spacieuses.

Sehr gepflegtes Haus mit schönen Zimmern , die Geschichte erahnen lassen. Wunderschöne kleine Terrasse direkt am Zimmer. Kaffeemaschine auf dem Zimmer hat uns den Tag verschönert. Sehr nette Atmosphäre und guter Service.

Parken war bei der Anreise etwas kompliziert. Da es keinen hoteleigenen Parkplatz gibt und in der mittelalterlichen Stadt es schwer war zuerst den Weg zu finden und dann zu parken. ( es kam erschwerend hinzu, dass es ein Fest in der Stadt gab)

Der Frühstücksraum gleich neben der Rezeption ist genial und man fühlt sich Jahrhunderte zurückversetzt. Das Frühstück wird frisch zubereitet und istvausgezeichnet

Das Zimmer in der obersten Etage war für uns zwei älter Personen mühsam zu erklimmen - und dann erst noch mit grossem Gepäck. Auch beim runtertragen wären wir für Unterstützung sehr dankbar gewesen. Ich habe mich nicht getraut, die beiden reizenden Damen damit zu beauftragen. Ein starker Mann angesichts der Architektur wäre hier angebracht.

Lots of very small spiral stairs. Room was adequate - door had hard time closing and interior of the room was very ordinary. Kind of like a college dorm room. Bathroom door opened into the bathroom effectively cutting its use in half.

The location. The architecture. The beds were very comfortable. Initial contact with the host re our arrival and restaurant booking and again at breakfast was very good.

The very steep staircase to our room. The room was very basically furnished not to my taste. The sound proofing between rooms is poor.

Lovely historical character hotel just a few steps from the centre of this wonderful historic town. The building itself is fascinating, and has been thoughtfully and tastefully modernized. Rooms are spacious and there is a powerful shower in the bathroom. No restaurant as such, but we enjoyed a fresh and plentiful breakfast in the vaulted ground floor. There are many restaurants within easy walking distance. All the staff that we encountered were lovely - pleasant and helpful. Recommended.

If you are looking for the most recent glitz and technology - go elsewhere. However if you are looking for something unique and incredibly charming this is the place. We loved it!

We had a wonderful stay , loved the ambiance, the staff was friendly and attentive. Loved the breakfast, we lingered enjoying every moment. We will definitely return

Le charme exceptionnel de cette demeure historique, la taille de la chambre , l’emplacement plein centre, le parking facile à proximité, l’accueil et l’aide pour monter les bagages (pas d’ascenseur), le petit déjeuner excellent servi dans la salle voûtée.

Notre chambre initiale était une executive au 3eme étage en duplex. Vraiment biscornue et avec une escalier très raide. Notre conseil : préférer les autres chambres. Nous avons pu pour notre part changer pour une suite, avec une différence de prix raisonnable, qui valait vraiment le changement.

Hôtel au décor atypique et classe. Nous avions une chambre au 3ème étage avec une magnifique vue sur la ville. Le petit-déjeuner était délicieux avec dds produits fait maison. Le personnel est très serviable et sympathique

Prédio lindo, uma antiga abadia. O quarto com um bom tamanho. Conquanto tivesse que subir para o quarto propriamente dito (dúplex). Produtos Caudalie já diz muito sobre o hotel. Café da manhã fantástico.

Para mim não foi um problema, mas o meu quarto que ficava no 3º andar, subir escadas estreitas em caracol, pode ser ruim para algumas pessoas.

Nous étions averti, mais notre chambre était au 3eme étage avec en plus une chambre en mezzanine. Il faut être conscient des 4 étages qui ne sont pas forcément à la portée de tout le monde.

This is a beautiful hotel that is very central in old town Beaune. We stayed in the room, Clos de Vougeut, and it was very large and beautiful. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Beaune. There are a lot of stairs in the hotel, so please take that into consideration if you have mobility difficulties.
