The worst expirience, my wife get food poisoning, I order scramble eggs and it came with a hair inside. Most of the people sound eveything except get you what you need. Never go back there.
Thanks
Highly recomended!!!
Viva Palace is beside Viva Beach hotel so that you can walk the charming treed walkway between the two properties. Both sites have nightly entertainment - singers, dancing and theatre from 8 to midnight with s disco after hours. International clientele and lots of young families. All sorts of shaded and sunny beach sites. Finally beach is located in a calm bay so lots of ppl in the water all day long.
The property was gorgeous and lots to do and animations for the kids. We all had a great time. The Santa coming on a boat to the resort and handing gifts to every single children was a nice touch. Friendly staff and all multilingual. Not pushy like other timeshare resorts.
Good services
Nice property
Cucarachas in the room. They gave us twin beds. We did not want. They did not change us. Very bad
This is my third time visiting but I notice a radical change with the customer service. Manager is none existent. The manage even ignore the Experian agent that called to resolve the issue. The service in the restaurant is a hit or missed. You might get very attentive service but you might also get those that will let the plates pile up on the table and ignore you completely.
I liked the beach but the customer service at this property is terrible. Third party agencies should intervine on behald of customers. I have been to viva 3 times and this will be my last unless things change.
Service is terrible. If you are allergic to bees dont book. Bees all over drinks, bars, beach, restaurants, etc. food quality in specially restaurants are below standards. Beverage are non existent. Wine taste like vinager, very short of alcoholic beverages. Funny that employees have preferences over clients during buffet hours. One time i have to wait for an omelette 30 minutes because i have three employees in the line in front of me, then no more eggs then wait for 15 minutes for the eggs to arrive. Everything is very disorganized. There is not leadership in the hotel. If You asked for a coffe, always no spoon, no napkins on the table. I will never come back. Total waste of money.
The hotel is a lot older than what the pictures show. There was no AC in my room, the bedding smelled like it was left in the washer, there were fleas on the bedding not ants fleas I had 2 on me. The food definitely not appealing at all I don’t recommend buffet. The restaurants are “always booked” so they won’t seat you although it’s empty we had to convince reservation team to give us what they could. The 2 restaurants we went to one was hot the AC was not on and the other portion size was less than 4 oz. The front desk girls were absolutely horrendous with attitude and the general manager would not come out to see me when I requested a new room. I asked for my money back to go else where and they denied my request no reason in particular. The barrooms had mold, toilet didn’t flush, shower faucet broke…. Our safe broke as well and took 2 hours to fix 5 people had to come and fix. I have not a single good thing to say about this resort I will not be returning and would never recommend this hotel. I will be taking this up with corp of Expedia. No person should sleep with fleas!!!!
Went last week of April, so some rain. Ocean was great, with great snorkling right off the shore. We saw a flounder, rays, pufferfish, lobsters, plus reef fish. Coral is growing but looks young. Loved the excursions with viva, they had tour guides that spoke multiple languages. Staff was friendly. Room was basic but the grounds were beautiful with ducks, birds, and igunanas. Food was adequate but lacked flavor. Yes I would go again.
Absolutely awful. We checked out early the following day. Two star hotel at best room was very dirty.
Very big and always something for everyone. I like the health drink option. We eat very healthy so nice to have that option
Amazing beach but property needs updating
staff super friendly, food was good (didn't get sick at all) the property was a little run down! or toilet was running and u had to push the handle up and sink was slow to drain. maids make ur bed everyday ours was so sweet leaving hearts and flowers and the beach was so warm and beautiful!!!n i didn't like the pressure of the people making you feel bad if you didnt do a tour with them.we did it because we felt bad for him and he was nice. they said 1 hour we were there 2.5 hours and they just pressure you to buy there.entetainment was awesome but vert late for adults. id go again
This hotel was basically the equivalent of a budget all inclusive. I would describe it as a Sizzler combined with a Motel 6. Also, they play super loud music at the pools a beaches - nothing relaxing about this hotel
Great friendly staff. Entertainment was phenomenal. Unstable internet outside of the main lobby area but understandable given the resort size.
I've been coming to this property for last 11years every year, sometimes multiple times a year. It has the most beautiful & widest beach in area & no sea weed issues. Has healthy, tasty, high quality food that is never disappointing. if you want heavy, junk food, you won't like it. Ground land scape is very lush & well kept making you feeling you're in a big park even while you're in the room. Staffs are always accommodating specially at the palace side. Over the years, there was a time they were playing music too loud throughout the day but they corrected it & it was appropriate amount this time at least at the palace side. Unfortunately they made me pay $50 for 2 hour late check our after this loyal patronage this February 😂 which was disappointing. but still will go back.
Not enough activities for preteens to do independently. Not enough wild life on property. Too many age restrictions (need to be 16 to use the gym, etc). Need more food variety at the buffet or more reservation days allowed. Otherwise, the best beach in the area
Loved it here. The hotel is huge, much bigger than we were expecting but never felt crowded even during a peak week. Lots of amenities and activities to keep the kids busy and a beautiful location. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. The room was a bit basic but very clean. The only real downside was the food in the buffet could be a bit bland. The food in the other restaurants and snack bars was much better. Highly recommended.
To preface this review, I have stayed at many all inclusive resorts including iberostars and secret resorts. If you are not Italian or Spanish, I would not recommend this resort. Personally, I will not be coming back or staying at any other Viva resort. To be fair, lets start with the pros of the resort: very nice beach and beautiful water activities like archery, kayaking, and paddle boarding included (with a time limit). the seafood restaurant and French restaurant were good. Now let’s discuss the cons: - wifi did not work in the room we were staying in and was very spotty throughout resort. - staff in green shirts will harass you and try to sell you things (timeshares, upgraded memberships) MULTIPLE TIMES PER DAY. My husband and I were harassed every day of our trip, when we were trying to relax and have a good time. The green shirts even tried asking for our room number! - the food overall was not great. Definitely below average and some things were very gross and old-looking. Some people we came to the resort with got sick from the food. - the drinks are not strong and will not get you buzzed unless you drink straight liquor. And you do not want to know how those drink cups are washed… it’s not sanitary. - the shower water was sometimes not hot. - there were roaches on the property, but we were on a higher floor in the building so we thankfully didn’t get any in our room. - staff is rude / not helpful to English speakers.
Nothing
Food buffets were excellent and we felt like there was variety each day. The pizzeria was an unexpected surprise, freshly baked in a hearth oven best I've had in years. Beaches and pools were enjoyable, especially the activities in the plaza, the infinity pool. Crepe bar was very good. Many activities all day. Friendly staff and guests. Weather was great. Family friendly. We used talixo from and to the airport. Would definitely return. This was our first all inclusive.
The staff were kind. The food was terrible and we felt very segregated because every excursion we were left out of most conversations because we were the only English speakers.
Everything was ok, except the water. Me my wife and my friends got a stomach problem. We used a bottle water for drink, but for ice and clean fruits and vegetables they use regular water. Food was excellent
The first day we wait until 4 pm to get the room the the a/c was bad and we pass the first night literally cooking our sell , the restaurat reaervation was limites to one because my reservation was just for 3 nights , in resumeit wasn'tmy best vacation
This is a very well-maintained property, with an extensive beach and many different restaurants, snack bars, and cocktail bars, as well as multiple swimming pools. The lady that cleaned our room every day, Yesenia R., did an excellent job and always left us with a beautiful bird constructed from towels and sheets, with flowers and greenery. All of the staff that we encountered were friendly and kind, and they all work very, very hard. The little shopping area within the Palace compound had a wonderful coffee shop. It was also really cool to see all the birds, including a flock of flamingos, wandering around the property, as well as some iguanas. There are multiple specialty restaurants in both the Palace compound, and within Dominicus Beach (which guests at the Palace may use); my personal favorite was the Italian restaurant, Il Palco. 25 is also very good (for steak) and Viva Mexico had delicious fajitas. We had wonderful massages on the beach from the spa. While it was not a concern for my husband and me, or the friends with whom we travelled, the rooms do show some wear and tear, which I feel is to be expected. The spotless attention to detail by the cleaning crews made up for that small criticism. The compound was safe, with an obvious presence of security. The beds are very comfortable. The air conditioning worked very well, which was much appreciated, given the very high humidity at this time of year. This is a great place to take an all-inclusive beach vacation.
The staff was very friendly, food was excellent.
Bathrooms not clean, no WIFFI service Not AC in the lobby
It was a terrible service overall All of restaurants has very bad service and a food are very bad Just a buffet was not bad!!! No more !!!!!!
The beach and resort workers wonderful
Everything at this resort was amazing, but the pools could have been open a little longer.
Exelente
The room was not ready when we arrived. The room looked old and the bathroom was terrible. The room floor was dirty. The drinks machine didn’t have drinks, when you pressed juice it brought water. The food was terrible and not a lot of options The staff didn’t look professional.
This hotel is located on a beautiful beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. Many dining options. Comfortable and clean room. Beautiful experience from start to finish. Will recommend staying at this hotel.
Check in experience was awful. We first tried checking in at Viva Dominicus Beach and were told we were in the wrong place. When we arrived at Dominicus Palace, we were told that our rooms weren't paid for and that we would need to pay for 4 rooms. We had two of our group that could not come and I was told that we could not have those rooms at the rate we were told it would be. Instead we would be charged the current rack rate. Then the clerk told us that half of our rooms were at the Palace and half were at the Beach. After more searching on the computer, we were told that all our rooms were actually at the Beach resort. I asked for assistance to get my group of 15 to the other site. Yes, we got assistance. The bell men loaded all our luggage on the carts and took us to the other resort at a fast pace. Several of my group were seniors and had a very difficult time keeping up. One in fact had such knee pain after this fast hike that the next day that one had to just rest. We were told to just relax at the bar while they sorted out our problems. My group encountered plastic in their drinks. The clerk appeared to not want to help me, the female leader. He was a little more willing to talk with a man in our group. I felt discrimination as a female. I was the one in charge of the group and he gave me little respect and wasn't wanting to talk to me as much as a man. I don't usually feel such disrespect, but I did that day.
The staff not friendly, food is bad no good hot food my 2 kids were sick second day from food , the charge me for using the safe 2$ a day don’t pay you still can use it , they offer viva club it’s ripe off don’t do it Unclean rooms Hade leaks in bathroom from air conditioning for all days No one can fix that Drinks are its up to who make it will be whatever I love the beach was really nice If you wanna enjoy Book palace because beach limit to many things and palaces good for family The most I like the beach and the weather the rest wasn’t good at all .
Staff is very rude and ignore you, unless you speak Spanish.. they cater to the Europeans and it was pretty clear we weren’t wanted there. A male unlocked and entered our friends room, in the middle of the night. She was alone in this room. Not injured, but guest services didn’t take us serious. We were brushed off. An Expedia agent tried getting us checked out, but the guest services agent didn’t want to talk with Expedia, and told her she’d fix it and make it right. That never happened! We left. We paid for 1 night. It took the reception desk over 3 hours to even get us checked in. It was a total nightmare.. I’ve never experienced anything like this, ever. The grounds are beautiful.. but that’s about as far as it goes, for anything positive. The food was horrendous!! I never expect ‘amazing’ with all inclusive, but this wasn’t even edible. So many things to even describe.. if anyone has any questions, feel free to message me. I’m not hard to please, but this was not good!!
I liked the property, staff was really nice , not much of shows or entertainment!
My family of 4 just got back from this resort yesterday. There was much to like about this resort, and some important problems. I would not go back to this resort, but let me explain why. First the good. From our arrival at the front desk, the check-in process was easy. The staff was easy to communicate with, and got us checked in fast. They did not have a great information package, they just had a map (and it's an expansive resort). It would have been nice to get information about entertainment (shows) and other features of our stay right away so we could reference it. No such luck. We got to the room and were happy with what we found. The room was as described. I had upgraded to the ocean view room, and was very glad I did (rm 6043). The room was nice and bright. It was clean, the queen beds were comfortable, the view was excellent, the fridge and coffee maker worked, the AC worked, the shower and toilet worked, and the wifi even worked (mostly). There was a pretty effective blackout curtain. For the duration of our stay, the room remained satisfactory. Room service was fine, and at our request, acquired some extra chairs for the balcony (there were 4 of us and 2 chairs). The grounds of the resort are well-maintained, and very clean. The beach is well maintained, they seem to clean/rake it each night with staff picking up cups and other trash regularly. It was pretty busy, but we were always able to find chairs eventually.
No hot water in room
Not for beer drinkers. One beer. Sometimes warm. Rooms a little dated. Great amenities. Lots to do. Staff tries very hard but very limited English. Restaurant food delicious. Buffet not so great but. Plenty of variety. Wonderful beach.
The property was fine, very nice, it was nothing spectacular as the other resorts we have visited, but well maintained. We had access to the Beach side which seem to be better but there was no water in the restrooms which made things very unpleasant. The staff was not very welcoming but they were not rude aside from a particular instance with someone at the crepe station. This resort seems to caters primarily to the Italians, French and Argentinians; there were many activities that were not in English and they had a special night a restaurant which was, exclusively, for the French. The room was not very spacious, but ok. The bathroom sink was clogged, which was an inconvenience and makes you wonder how the cleaning person was able to clean with this problem. There was a $2 charge per day for the safe, which is not a big deal but other resorts include it. Overall, it was an ok stay, for a relaxing four days. We only had one incident we someone at the crepe station, that if management reads this, we hope they address. The male person's first name starts with an "E" and the last name starts with an "M." We don't want anyone to get in trouble or lose the job, but to be mindful that guests are there on vacation to have a good experience with their families, and that it's not ok to disrespect, confront, or challenge a guest. Overall, an ok experience.
Absolute false advertisement. The room I was given was no way near picture shown.
A nice resort with many options for activites, dining, and multiple beach areas where you could be loud or quiet.
The worst resort in the world. Don’t waste your money going there. To start, the door did not close properly. This was a serious issue since every night I didn’t feel safe in my room, as the door had a huge crack allowing anyone to see through. Second, the food was the same everyday and lacked flavor minus a few items and the specialty restaurants. Third, the beds were not actual beds, but were just concrete extensions from the wall. The bathroom did not have any warm water to shower with. Lastly, it was extremely crowded. One pro, though, was the extremely beautiful beach, but just go to a resort like Iberostar if you really want to enjoy the natural beauty of the Dominican Republic.
Staff is very friendly. There are many pools and the beach is well organised
Everything was wonderful, the food was excellent, the staff were top notch❣️ I loved everything about this stay... I highly recommend 👏👏👏
I loved the beach, its a beautiful beach, I did not like the dining options at the buffet. Nor did I like the rooms they are very outdated.
Amazing!!!! People are so friendly and kind, always ready and willing to help you and make you feel comfortable, the food is delicious!!! The drinks, so many things to do in one place, you’d never feel bored
Excellent service !!!!! All Great!
Terrible! Terrible service - staff not friendly, food at buffet not good or clean , toilet didn’t work , roaches in room . Drinks are very cheap not sure what kind of Alcohol they use . Couldn’t get restaurant reservations . We left after 1st night . Was supposed to stay for 7 nights .
Wi-Fi not working in room, comforter sheet and pillows case are not freshly.
I spent my four days without AC. I had my room changed to another room without air. I complained several times. I waiting on a refund.
Overall great experience. The beach is breathtaking. Beautiful clear blue water. The pools are clean and spacious. We loved the dining experience at the restaurants. The buffet at the Beach hotel is more enjoyable than the Palace because of the water view and service. Night shows are entertaining, my kids enjoyed it. Our room was oceanfront which made up for any minor issues it had. Thank you for a wonderful time.
Not the best resort but it’s a resort .. you’ll see for yourself if you book it .. I would never again
OK overall Lots of noise at night from disco or activities. The cleaning staff make a lot of noise all day long. We had to make a long line checking out at noon and I noticed they were checking in some people which should not be done at noon!
This was our second stay at this resort. It was a family trip with small children and also teenager’s. The kids all had a blast. Friendly staff. The room we got or this time around was a little run down but we didn’t mind much as we were at the beach all day. Buffet food was the same for breakfast and lunch everyday. They did switch it up for dinner. Restaurant food was good. The only issue we had is with the app they required we use for restaurant reservations wasn’t working at all. Overall we recommend this place and will be returning.
I found the check in process to be friendly and quite helpful. The property is beautiful with ideal beach access. The food was fresh and delicious. Love those fresh donuts every morning. Special shout out to tennis pro Ricardo R. Coaching program was full of great drills and focus on skill improvement. Look forward to my next trip.
I liked the amenities. I didn’t like the service at all.
Very very good resort, make sure you ask for renovated rooms. Very satisfies
All the Front Desk staff at the Palace had excellent English, both at check-in and check-out. Betania was very helpful at check-in and explained all aspects of the resort! I traveled with my kids ages 12-25, and they all LOVED the resort and the activities. Check-in took 10 mins and check-out even less. There were never lines anywhere, except for a couple of people at the bar. COVID test was quick and simple and no appointment needed. We were placed in a beautiful ocean front room, that had the best ocean view I have ever seen! The room was clean and the ladies who cleaned our room each day could not have been more friendly and kind! There were no issues with hearing nighttime noise. The buffet food was okay, but the a la carte restaurants were excellent. IL Palco was outstanding in service and food - thanks to all the staff, including Felipe and Evelin! My kids did everything from catamarans, kayaking, beach volleyball, water aerobics, to snorkeling - it was so nice that all the activities were included in the cost! We stayed 6 nights and wished we could have stayed much longer! Definitely, an outstanding, reasonably priced resort for a family vacation!
Excellent staying, I would rate it 4/5. The hotel is huge, beaches are great with room for everyone, a lot of restaurants (buffet, a la carte) and bar open 24/7. When booking just make sure to ask to stay far from the disco and the theater if you want to sleep. Cons: They could do better in some situations (they took more than an hour to fix the water leak in the room next to the ours, leaving us in a flooded room at midnight). Also, we spent tooo much time with the guys of the hotel because we thought they wanted to show us the structure but we finally figured out that wanted to sell us the membership to the resort. And when you have just a few days you don’t want to spend time in stuff like that.
Ocean view
I am really impressed and thankful about the attention, quality service, quality food, people, place and amenities, I definitely will recommend to my friend and family this amazing place for vacation, resting and enjoying
The room reserved was not the room we received. Rooms looked nothing like what is displayed on site. Upon pointing these discrepancies out they agreed to move us but it would be later the next day. The room we moved to was much better and more inline with what we reserved. All along the ocean front/view rooms you hear a constant boom boom boom from the adjacent property, Viva Wyndam beach. This is heard in the room until 12:30 am every day and makes it necessary to try and sleep with ear plugs, not an enhancement to relaxation.
Property is beautiful and well kept, beach towels were always available, no lines for food. Very well managed property. However, the rooms are very outdated, ceiling leaking, toilet piping noisy, bathroom door would not close properly
Beautiful grounds! Lots of nature all around—-palm trees, beautiful beach, lots of sand. Ducks, geese, flamingos, turtles, iguanas and even cats!! My kids loved to run after the geese and feeding flamingos. The gardeners are doing a great job— always working!
1/5 stars for this hotel. If you plan to stay on the beach the entire day and don’t need food or drinks this is the place for you. Service everywhere was horrible. Long lines at the ONE bar at the pool and beach, pool side food was hit or miss, buffet food was just okay but good luck getting any drinks. My fiancé and I waited for 20 min before we were given forks and knives so we can eat no matter how many times we asked. Our room was more like a motel room. I understand that they are in the process of remodeling but it was just horrible. Our shower had BLACK MOLD and all the drawers and closets looked like they were on their last leg but just repainted to look fresh. If you have any issues in the room that need maint. to fix, be prepared to not leave your room for that whole day as you will be left waiting with no eta. Practice on your Spanish as almost none of the wait staff understood anything else. Travelocity advertised free WiFi in all rooms and some public areas but that really means you will be running around the lobby looking for the best connection. There is no WiFi in any rooms and it is very spotty all over the rest of the resort. Take all the advertisements and pictures posted with a grain of salt as we never saw half the things we read about or that were posted by these travel agencies. There was also no water park or water slides for children as advertised. When false advertisement was brought up to manag. we were told these agencies come up with their own info
Beach
Where do I start. The rooms are horrible its only meant for 2 people the most 3. There was a lot of false advertisement we booked a superior plus room which they don't even have. If you go with kids and have a boy and girl basically you cant put them together in one bed. The rooms are outdated with mold smell. Had to change rooms. This is not a kids friendly resort. The kids have nothing to eat except pizza and french fries. The food was ok but you have no service. Instead of relaxing you would have to stand on line to get any kind of drinks. On our trip all kids caught a stomach bacteria from the pools which are not cleaned properly. NO ONE SPEAKS ENGLISH which is very hard when you don’t speak Spanish. To explain to someone what you want was vey very hard. There is no internet service. The only good thing there was the beach and entertainment. I would never recommend this place to anyone.More Date of stay: February 2022
The rooms were clean and very nice. The staff was very friendly and the facilities were well kept. I highly recommend it.
Kids club and trapeze, night shows and parties
This property is combined with the Viva Wyndham Beach Resort so it had quite a few amenities as well as options for food and extra curriculars. It seemed that there were a lot of European guests, so there was not a lot of English speaking options. But when it came to the front desk, excursions, and pharmacy they made sure to have someone who would be able to help us. With covid we weren't sure what to expect, but they only required masks when ordering drinks, walking thorough food places, and other close encounters which was not too bad. I'd definitely recommend for the price point. The beaches were beautiful!
Service was mediocre. Staff ignored questions at the guest services. Receiving and returning towels was inconvenient. Made it much harder than it needed to be. Drinking Water was very limited in the rooms and could not request more. Womens Public toilets were not properly functioning majority of the time. Little to no waiter drink service. Mandatory Covid test forced us to wait hours to schedule an appointment for which we then had to wait another 3 hours. Food was good, beach and water are excellent. Staff is overall nice but provide little to no service.
cockroaches were none stop in the rooms, we had two rooms and every day will get 5-8 of them that we need to kill. A lot of mosquitos in the room. Cleaning lady will use the same gloves cleaning the toilet and making your pillows than will clean others people rooms with the same gloves. I have been in this resort 6-8 times since 2005 this year was horrible. In mini club for kids people are smoking cigarets and management do nothing. Horrible experience. Rooms are horrible. In cafeteria servant will never change gloves between serving your clean napkin and silverware and cleaning dirty dishes. All four of us got sick as well with stomach bacteria.
The website pictures do not match the hotel. It’s an old hotel. POOR internet conexión, the wifi is somewhat decent in the mail lobby but not the hotel rooms. Staff needs more training and better communication, especially the front desk.
This property has rats. There was a rat in the room that crawled on my feet while in the bed. There was rat droppings on the floor in the bathroom. We also saw huge rats outside on the grounds. The ceiling leaked in our bathroom. We tried to complain but didn’t have the time to stand in line for hours to speak to someone in guest services.
The staff. They were so friendly and helpful. Mr Epifanio was great and made sure we were taken care of. Monica was amazing, we mention about a cheese we had on our way from the airport we really liked and she surprised us the next day when she brought us cheese with garlic crackers on her way from home. The manager at the restaurant Palito de coco was incredible. Because of people like them we will be back soon to Viva Whyndam.
The staff was very professional and was helpful with everything
EXCELLENT PLACE ALL THE STAFF VERY FRIENDLY, HELPFUL VARIETY OF FOOD ALL THE TIME BESIDES OF VERY TASTEFUL.
no umbrellas on the beach. Lanes at the buffet. Pay for the safe and even for Covid test . I will never go to this resort
The room was horrible, tolite flooded floor when flushed, night stand falling out wall, blood stained comforter, Tv worked 3 days out of 8 day stay. Staff was so rude to me, noone took me to mu room took me 50 mins to find it alone when asked for directions they just pointed amd walked away. Ask for a manager 5 times guess who I never got to speak to. It was a nightmare vacation. Save your money go to Punta Cana. Oh yeah i got sick for 4 days after finding worms in my food twice.
The location and beach was nice. If however Beachfront rooms lack good air and the shows at night happen to late at 9:45. Additionally cleaning sevices was not great. With Corvid i was not keen on having guest picking though food.
Right on the beach, which had a swimming area. Hotel beach is right next to a public beach, so on the weekends it got a little rowdy over there, some garbage floated over, etc. but security does check bracelets and keeps the public off the resort beach. There is also local shops selling souvenirs on the public beach which was fun to visit. If you aren't there to purchase, just say you didn't bring your money and they'll mostly leave you alone. Resort is well kept and landscaped beautifully. Drinks were the usual all-inclusive drinks, we usually resort to rum and diet coke rather than the sugary drinks with cheap mixers. Buffet food was just okay, but the choices they provide each day/night were different and vast, so you could always find something to eat. The reservation restaurants were good. The pizza by the pool was frustrating, as they did not keep the volume up, the lines were always long, and there was no per person limit, so if a hot pizza came out, one person might end up taking the whole thing. Staff is generally friendly for the most part. I would return if the opportunity arose.
The beach is beautiful. Some staff are very helpful and lovely. Food is terrible even the special restaurants use poor cuts of meat and strange recipes. The poolside bar food also terrible and always running out. How do you mess up a burger? The worst part is blasting music that woke me up out of a dead sleep two of 5 night stay. Reception acted sympathetic but did nothing except to say they’d tell the clubs to lower the volume the next night. Didn’t happen.
I liked the organized and beautiful scenery within and outside the hotel. The buffets and restaurants provided very delicious foods. The signs and the pathways of the entire property made it easy to locate places that I wanted to find and go to. The only thing that I didn't like during my stay was the fact that most people used their cigarettes while I was eating and relaxing over fresh air.
We paid the transit from Santo Domingo airport 85 USD one way. The resort is just great. The beach was just outside our room. The pool with salty water over the caribbean sea was lovely. There was food everywhere, and at any time. However, the quality of the food at the general buffer was "just good". Many options. More meet than fish. Dinners In our deal, we had 4 dinners included. The first morning we went to reserve the 4 dinners. With one week in advance the availability was limited, and the first reservation available was only on Sunday. We booked Atlantis, Palito de Cocco, Viva Caffè, and the Mexican. IMHO, no restaurant excelled. The food was on average better then the buffet, but nothing excelled. Our bad experience was with the last two nights. We had Viva Caffè, and the Mexican. I approached the restaurant at the reservation time. When I went there, the restaurant was closed for renovation. During the night, the office that makes reservation was closed, so we went to the buffet. The next day we went to the reservation office. They said that the restaurant closed without giving them any notice and they offered to reserve another restaurant. However, the last night we had already the mexican. Only after I told them that I was unsatisfied they offered to offer a bottle of wine. My GF does not drink, so I told them if they could offer something different. They refuse saying was not their fault and couldn't do more. I was really disappointed by their customer support!
Everything good, good room, clean, place beautiful, no show, restaurants far from room, at restorations food normal, but at buffet, food very poor
The beach, the weather and the view from our room were awesome. The resort itself was dirty. The room was dingy and dirty appearing. The bed linen had actual blood and some other stains. I mean they had not been washed! They were wrinkled like they had just been slept in. Had to ask for new bedding. The bed was AWFUL. I mean sleeping on the floor would be better. The lock was broke on the door . We begged them to fix it. They never did. They didn’t care. Staff at desk are just plain rude. The food at the buffet is gross They we’re always out of glasses. We had to call and ask for towels. We hung them to reuse and they took them and left us with none. Had to wait hours to get some Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place
This was our first visit to the Dominican Republic and our first time at a Viva Wyndham Resort .. while we had a great vacation there was some small print stuff I wish I would have known before booking. The beach is amazing and so beautiful! Quickly moved its way up to one of the prettiest places in the Caribbean we have been. The resort is so clean! Rather it be the rooms being turned over each day or a poolside bathroom everything from top to bottom was spotless. The staff was super nice.. there is a language barrier but the ones that we coild communicate with were very nice. Somethings I did not like were online it states snorkeling is included but what that means is using a mask and floating around off of the beach. Other resorts we have stayed it has included snorkeling trips off of the islands .. which we did but it was an extra cost. Food is very good. The buffett is.. a buffet. Not great but it is good when hungry. We couldnt find any staff in buffet to ask questions. The food at the restaurants were all amazing! The fine print is if you are not a member you need a reservation and depending on how many nights you stay depends how many nights you can reserve dinner. That was a first for me.. I have never been restricted to the number of nights I can go to a restaurant for dinner. Steak ans lobster is not included it is also an extra charge.
more outlets in the lobby it was very good one of the pools that has a bar inside
Clean, friendly staff. My only wish is that the water was filtered, although they do provide plenty of bottled water
Very friendly staff, rooms are clean and well maintained..
We have been here before, we enjoyed it then and even more now. The property is well kept. What I did not like was the fact that the door to the balcony was not working. The safe did not work. When it rained on Friday May 24th, water leaked in from behind the T.V. But all in all we had a great time. I really enjoyed this resort.
We stayed at the Palace side of the resort. We were a group of 8 which includes 2 kids under 4. The palace side is calm and very relaxing. At night we would walk to the Beach side of the resort as that's where all the themed parties take place til late night. That side is definitely he party side and alot going on. We were happy with our choice of staying at the Palace side we prefer the quiet and relaxing however it was nice to be able to join the fun on the other side every once in a while. The staff was friendly and always willing to help. The hotel overall was clean very well kept. The rooms were updated and clean we had a garden view it faced the back of the resort it was new area you can tell the palm trees were just put it we could still see the barbwire fencing but the garden was very nice and well kept. even though we were towards the back end of the resort we were able to see some prettty cool iguanas that were roaming around. The themed restaurants were ok not the greatest. The Italian restaurant was the best one. Staff was very attentive Buffet was very good. We were there most of the time. We were a big group and all the options were a plus. They have snack bars open by the pools also those had some good burgers, sandwiches and salads. Bar tenders were awesome at the palace pool side as well ad the lobby bar tenders. Overall we had a good experience and would return to this resort. We recommend this to others.
We loved the beach, the white sand and that blue water.
