Shoreline Hotel

Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen. Sehr viele kleine Defekte (gerade in den Badezimmern Toilette, etc.) Was allerdings sehr schön ist, ist die Lage des Hotels. Die Hotelterrasse endet direkt am Meer mit einem wirklich schönen Ausblick auf die Irische See. Obwohl das Hotel in der Nähe des Flughafen ist, ist die Lärmbelästigung marginal. Das Essen ist britischer Durchschnitt - also nichts aussergewöhnliches.

A breathtaking view of the sea at sunrise is what crowned this stay. The room was pleasant in size and amenities, but the view was why we chose this hotel and it more than exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly, particular those working in the bar and restaurant. A beach is right on the doorstep for a stroll. This is a perfect alternative to staying directly at the airport.

Too many e-mails with offers prior to check-in lead to being overwhelmed and overinformed.

Rooms need a bit of attention, showing signs of wear. More bar staff needed. Slow to get served and no one cleared tables on the terrace. Empty glasses were there from 4pm to after 9pm.

Stayed for family wedding 1 nighy. Room was lovely. Breakfast was fine

The view is stunning.

Complacent reception staff , dismissive attitude lacking any welcome . The room which we booked was described as a superior double .The bed in it was very small and pushed tight against the wall a very small room . The hotel looked and felt dirty and is in need of total revamp . I went to the desk to ask if there was a mistake with our booking but was told I was paying for the view .we were so disappointed as we were there for my husbands birthday. Breakfast was very poor. No clean plates . Limited choice and overall looked unappealing. I ordered an omelette but i couldn't eat it as it was salty and tasteless. There was no bottled water in the rooms either and no extra touches. This was a very poor substandard stay and we will not be back . I am sorry I hadn't read the reviews beforehand .

Die Lage und die Aussicht vom Bett aus aufs Meer sind unschlagbar! Die Zimmer sind recht klein (es gibt keinen Kleiderschrank) aber da wir nur 2 Nächte dort waren, hat uns das nicht gestört. Die Betten sind bequem und das Frühstück bietet ausreichend Auswahl (besonders bei den warmen Speisen, die bestellt werden können). Dass der Parkplatz für Hotelgäste gratis ist, ist ein großer Pluspunkt! Besonders gefallen hat uns die Kommunikation mit dem Personal. Vor unserer Anreise wurden wir aktiv auf ein Angebot für ein 2 bzw. 3 Gang Abendmenü aufmerksam gemacht und die Mitarbeiterinnen beim Frühstück waren sehr nett, locker und aufmerksam. Dublin ist von Donabate aus bequem mit dem Zug in einer halben Stunde zu erreichen, was perfekt ist, um sich die Parkgebühren in der Stadt zu sparen.

Das Badezimmer hätte definitiv eine bessere Reinigung notwendig gehabt. In der Dusche waren gelbe Verfärbungen/Rückstände (die sich mit einem Schwamm lösen hätten lassen) und in den Ecken war leider Schimmel zu sehen.

Ein schönes kleines Hotel direkt am Meer. Das Frühstück war ausreichend. Das Personal im Restaurant war super freundlich. Es gibt eine Sauna und der Meerblick von unserem Zimmer aus war einfach toll. Man kann kilometerweit am Strand entlang laufen.

Hier und da ist das Hotel schon in die Jahre gekommen. Aber uns hat das nicht gestört.

Outstanding location by the sea.

Not enough staff, which resulted in poor service. No gluten-free desserts or options on the continental breakfast. The hotel is tired and requires quite a few updates, but it was clean, and the location made up for it. A one-night stay was fine, but I don't think I'd stay for more than that.

Stayed here 4 years ago & the property need an overhaul , painted , carpets replaced on stairs it’s worn to a thread in places.

Alles sehr renovierungsbedürftig, Waschbecken rostig, Wasserhahn verkalkt, Tür Kratzer mehrfarbig schlecht ausgebessert. In den Ecken am Fenster lag Müll. Zimmer war kleiner als angegeben, nur 12qm. In Restaurant war Sitzbank durchgesessen. Zum frühen Frühstück gab es weder Tee noch Kaffee.

Die Zimmer sind sehr abgewohnt, auch die Flure, relativ wenig Platz im Zimmer

Wir hatten das Zimmer 109. Der Ausblick auf das Meer, Gartenterrasse war super. Das Zimmer ist klein, jedoch erfüllt es alles was man für eine Nacht benötigt. Dusche, WC alle ok. Das Restataurant bietet auch die Möglichkeit zum Essen. Wir haben ein 3-Gang Abend-Menue gewählt. Dies war sehr lecker:-) Das Frühstücksbufffet war auch sehr gut inkl. Menue a la carte:-).

Es ist relativ ringhörig. Gäste nahmen wenig bis keine Rücksicht (zwischen 0030 - 0200 Uhr AM) was Lärm anbelangt.

The location.

My family and I were extremely disappointed in the Shoreline Hotel! The location is great but the hotel is a dive! The rooms were small and dirty especially the bathrooms. The carpets in the hotel hallways, stairwells and lobby were worn down and covered in sand. In addition, the sofas in the bar should be replaced, if you sit in the wrong spot you’ll fall through to the floor! Although there were a few friendly faces, for the most part the staff seemed unhappy and unmotivated to help. Hence, in my humble opinion, the Shoreline Hotel needs a complete make over and currently, its only redeeming feature is the beautiful Irish Sea!

Staff Amazing

L'emplacement juste à coté de la plage, les lits étaient confortables et la chambre grande. Le parking n'est pas privé mais il est gratuit si vous restez à l'hotel. Le restaurant était sympa, nous avons bien mangé.

Le fait de ne pas pouvoir ouvrir la fenêtre !! Il faisait très très chaud dans la chambre.

Ideal location to North County Dublin, right on Tower Beach.

La vue Mer de la chambre est incroyable, on peut en profiter depuis le lit ce qui est génial. La chambre est confortable et fonctionnelle, la salle de bain est très jolie. L'accès à la plage juste à côté est top.

Petit bémol : la fenêtre de la chambre qui ne s'ouvre que très peu alors qu'il faisait chaud dans la chambre. Autre bémol : la propreté. De manière générale, c'était propre, mais la bouilloire était pleine de calcaire, il y avait des traces de café/thé sur la banquette, de la rouille sur le pommeau de douche et des moisissures sur le plafond de la salle de bains.

I love this small little hotel right on the beach Manager tried to resolve an issue which was beyond his control.

They are experiencing problems with the building work taking place a few miles away from hotel. It’s ridiculous that a lovely business is suffering from the incompetence of someone else

This hotel has so much potential but the staff really let it down. The receptionist so rude on check in and lacked interest. We had food in the bar and it was ok. I heard one of the kitchen staff swearing at another staff member. The location is excellent and we had wonderful weather the rooms are dated but clean. Would I return again NO unfortunately not!!

Outdoor area. Excellent dinner in Bar. Very good breakfast. The lovely Receptionist on duty Sunday night and Monday morning. The 2 fabulous Ava's in the Bar Sunday evening.

Parking was a slight issue but was resolved well.

Die Lage, das exzellente Frühstück. Die Nähe zum Flughafen, ohne dass dieses störend wirkte. Unser Zimmer war schon teilrenoviert.

Das Personal an der Rezeption war nicht sehr freundlich und schien genervt. Der übereinandergelegte Teppich im Zimmer, der eine Stolperfalle darstellt. Ich würde Laminat oder einen anderen pflegeleichten Bodenbelag empfehlen. Die abgenutzte Sitzbank.

The location. Being right on the ocean was the highlight! The views were stunning and it was the only highlight from our stay.

The room was not clean. The carpet was ripped up in places (they told me they were remodeling). Markings on the wall, like scratches and pen marks. There was an unknown white substance sprayed across the headboard. There was hard mass of food/vomit dried on the wall next to the radiator. The room had an odor of vomit. And the toilet would leak when flushed. When I went to discuss concerns with staff at front desk, they were more interested in continuing their conversation instead of addressing guests. Staffing seemed short in the restaurant.

Receptionist wasnt friendly

Four of us popped in for a bite to eat yesterday while at the beach and the service wasn't what you'd want or expect, 3 girl's standing around chatting so I eventually went over to ask for menus, they didn't even break their conversation and hardly acknowledged me, then I went back to ask did they have a child's menu and got the same response, we ordered and the food was bland and tepid. This place really is below par.

The toilet didn’t flush unless the tap was turned on. Hotel door wouldn’t lock or close behind me when let go it would stay open. Only noticed this when walking to our room and noticed other rooms the same.

Few small things.. 45 mins waiting on room to to be ready. Pattio door to garden didn't lock could open from outside No mattress protectors on beds Some light switches in room didn't work. Wall lights Floor lamp didn't work Rust on towel rail Some fixtures in bathroom could do with deep clean. No stopper for sink Litter outside (Broken brush just dumped in flower bed.) Screw sticking out on garden furniture (which could do with a paint) Cutlery in grass (I picled it up and put on garden furniture on Wednesday night was still there on Saturday when leaving .

This was our return visit after a number of years, so we hope for great things........ Check in was okay, taxi booked for that night ( 'you can book one but they generally don't turn up!'). The room ....... Clean but it was missing a room check by anyone in management! Please see the pictures! Surprise, surprise the taxi didn't turn up..... Multiple phone calls and a taxi turned up. Great night in a local restaurant 10 out 10 (Pasta Castello, Donabate. Highly recommend!!) By a ' helping angel' we got back to the hotel. A very pleasant evening watching Dublin bay north was had. The next morning on check out the front of staff where shown the attached pictures (to the reaction ' I'll have house keeping look') I have sent these in an email to no reply as yet. David

Location amazing

The room felt a bit tired, shower head needs a clean and bathroom tap loose, a bit of a freshen up with some paint and mentioned issues. Don’t let this put you off. Everything else great

Overall, the hotel was okay. The location was beautiful, right on the sea.

Cleanliness was a problem. The window seat, where you could sit and watch and listen to the sea, was subpar. The seat was so dirty I was afraid to sit there. There were coffee stains and maybe some other drinks, but the dirt embedded in the fabric reminded me of some black grease. Disgusting. This shouldn't be happening.

Terrible food unfortunately we really tried here but couldn’t get a desert result. Also reception greeting was nonexistent from front of desk. Shame Although the waitress we had was lovely and it wasn’t her first complaint.

The location on the beach and close to the airport excellent. The room was comfortable and clean.

I believe we stayed before the “season” started. There was a lot of updating going on and the staffing appeared to be short. The bar/restaurant needed more staff. Those that were working were very friendly and worked hard to keep the customers served.

Had a delicious meal here today with my daughter, she had the seafood tagliatelle and I had the chicken roast. The food was beautiful but the roast had very little gravy so I asked for more and I was charged €2 for it & it came in a tiny pot. Wasn’t happy about that. Staff are fantastic & you can’t beat the views. It won’t stop me returning, we eat here regularly.

I had a pleasant experience. Max made me a coconut cappuccino, and it was good and enjoyable. The service was friendly and professional, and everything was prepared nicely. Thanks, Max, for the good coffee and positive service.

Great location, we had a mix up with the room but was resolved and the food was great both evening and morning. Only stayed one night but would definitely return and stay longer.

As an Event Lead in a charity, we hold one of our flagship fundraisers each year at the Shoreline. It demands quite a high level of support from Judith and the team in Events, plus the Hotel's staff as a whole. Throughout my dealings with everyone at the Shoreline I've found them incredibly professional, supportive, accommodating, pro-active in what they do and eager to deliver best in class. Without the support we receive, delivering an event of the scale involved would be a much tougher job. I couldn't recommend them highly enough as a location to host your event. Judith and the team won't let you down.

Felt very embarrassed as I had paid my bill...I was shouted at in the carpark by a waitress in front of my friends and family and other patrons stating I didn't pay my bill.. .she took it upon herself to put 2 separate bills at our table which nobody asked for.

Had a lovely stay. Hotel is well located. I recommend booking a sea view room. Swam on the beach and booked the sauna on the hotel site for afterwards- wich was delightful (pay sauna company separately for this). Breakfast and dinner were delicious. It is a 3 * hotel and so is about right for that standard. It is a relaxed, informal & small hotel. Recommend parking at Donabate DART station for trains connecting to Malahide, Dublin city and beyond.
