Very clean. Wonderful location and view. Great access to the beach, literally just steps from the ocean. We’re divers and was two doors away from the dive shop and they stored our gear so we didn’t need to move it around! Would gladly come back!
We enjoyed our stay here. The view was amazing. The beds were super comfortable but a bit high for short people. Internet was great. Our transfer, arranged by the hotel was great. Martinus—use him for all transfers.
The absolute best part of this resort was the location. Nothing beats walking down the stairs from your room straight onto the beach. The beach itself was gorgeous and having the on-site restaurant and bar in between the rooms and beach was very convenient. Michelle was exceptional. She was friendly, communicative and super helpful by arranging my airport transportation. She deserves a solid 10/10. The bed was comfortable though very high for someone as short as me (5 feet). The place was spotless. The only downside for me was that the living room had no AC, just a fan so it was very hot, especially when we cooked. The bathroom was also a little outdated (building could use some updates). Overall, the location and service were wonderful even if the property wasn't top tier.
Extremely clean and comfortable room, and you wake up next to the Pitons, down to a very nice restaurant and the beach . Use GPS to find Still beach. Very quiet at night
Beautiful view, very nice owner and staff, clean cool room, nice restaurant downstairs
The Still Beach House is an absolute gem. The Still is a smaller guest house with a handful of rooms and while we are not "fancy resort" type of people, the owners and staff certainly made you feel as if you were at the Ritz Carlton! Everyone was extremely accommodating, helpful and kind. We booked a room with a kitchenette and it was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed and more. Not to mention the breathtaking view of Petit Piton from our balcony! The Still is located at the end of the beach in Soufriere which gives you the feeling of privacy but is also just a short walk to town. The rooms are also connected to The Seashell Beach Restaurant which had great food and drinks. We spent 8 days here and wouldn't change a thing about it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to go back!
Room was nice and spacious although AC was only in the bedroom. There is no lobby though but the owners are very helpful and prompt. A little dark if you enter after sunset and it will feel strange but if you talk to Michelle and David, they would help out. The location is great for Soufriere and you get a good view of the Petit Pitons. The beach is not the best but at least you get some sand in your toes. Stay there if you want to spend a couple of days in Soufriere doing the nature stuff. That said Seashells restaurant was a disaster. 8pm kitchen closed, breakfast - they did not have half the items and it took them more than 60 mins to make one omelette. Realize that the restaurant may not be run by the same owners but it leaves a lot to be desired.
Good food. I had the ribs, my partner had pasta. Food was good quality. It’s a little quiet out of season, but a lovely location and fabulous views. We did a little ‘reckie’ about an hour before we actually dined, to basically checkout the menu for veggie options. Our only criticism was that they clearly have two price point menus, as all the prices had jumped significantly. Perhaps a locals price and then a visitors one. All said we’re both enjoyed the food.
Great views and friendly staff.
This place has character. It is an older property where the staff bends over backwards to accommodate guests. The room was full of fresh flowers and beautifully folded towels when we arrived, making us feel extra welcome. The view from the room is wonderful, there is a small bar and restaurant just downstairs, with steps to the beach. Easy walking distance to town. We are glad we stayed here.
Michelle is an amazing host! Can't get much better views or price!
Michelle was lovely and so helpful as was Carin! We had a thoroughly relaxing visit. The restaurant on site was great as well!
Our Unit #4 was very spacious with a large bedroom, living room, dining area and beautiful balcony with another table for dining. We even had a washing machine. Everything and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The area was quiet and felt safe. We walked around Soufriere and had dinner out and found the ice cream shop too. My husband spent four days diving with Action Adventure Duvers and said it was pre incredible. Michelle and her team were top notch hosts. She even helped us bring items from the car when we checked in. Five Stars is not enough Thank you so much for a great stay!
The property is beautiful, right on the beach. The staff are amazing, super friendly and there to make every part of your stay wonderful.
Just back from St. Lucia which I believe is the most beautiful place ever! Stayed here and was best decision we made. Don’t expect frills like the expensive resorts, but the people and location are the best. From what we saw we believe it has the best view from room except jade mountain. Went up north as far as Castries. Still Beach is great location to walk to town, snorkel, quick boat ride to sugar beach and Anse beaches. Budget friendly, comfy beds, wonderful staff. They even gave us an extra bed for no charge. Large rooms. If you’re looking to have best view, great location, save money, safety, peace/quiet,…look no further. There’s not a lot of places to store things but they have a decent size safe in room. Loved Anse beaches the best - less people. Sugar beach great for snorkeling but crowded. Recommend Botanical gardens and hot baths, Tet Paul trail, Castries market, cassava bread, walking the towns, snorkeling at sugar or Anse beaches. And oh the creole home cooking - best restaurants are those that don’t look like much.We did not rent car and very glad of that. Martinus taxi was recommended by staff and was absolute best. Owner is great. Easy to interact with prior and during. Checked in periodically to be sure we had what we needed. Thank you St. Lucia for the people and culture. All around amazing!
We had a beautiful view, the beach right on the property isn’t as nice as the others, but it’s very close drive to sugar beach and Anse . I definitely recommend a car. Michelle was so helpful even I locked myself outside on the balcony. The bar/restaurant downstairs had great food and it’s super convenient
The beach are was quiet and uncrowded. The views from our room and the restaurant are spectacular. The rooms are a bit dated. The first night we were in a smaller room with no kitchen which was fine. When we got moved to the larger room with a kitchen and sitting area there was only air conditioning in the bedroom. The overhead fan didn't work and the small one provided didn't help much. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay and don't care too much about the room this is a good place.
One of the best views I've ever had at the hotel! Michelle and her team were communicative, prompt, amd attentive. I highly recommend staying with them.
Amazing vews! Accommodations are basic but clean and comfortable, absolute bargain for the location!
Michele and her husband were the best hosts and very friendly. Anything you ask for at all they were so accommodating. They made us feel welcome and it was a pleasure staying there. The restaurants food was good and very convenient. You do need a car or a driver to go to any excursions or out. But the view and walking right on the beach was break taking and amazing!!! Thank you
Our stay at the Still was spectacular. The beds in the room are HUGE super king beds and really comfortable. Our room had a beautiful balcony with a view of the beach and beach access just below the bar. It was fantastic and the owners are very accommodating. They were able to organise late check out for us and were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It really is paradise.
Room was spacious, clean, and welcoming. The bed was really comfortable. Parking was easy. Beautiful views from the balcony and property. Resort is right on the beach. The restaurant serves great food and drinks. Peter provided an amazing snorkeling trip. Michelle was really nice and accommodating.
Had a great time staying at The Beach House for our Honeymoon. Michelle and David are very nice and the room was set up very cute for our arrival. Amenities as promised, views are amazing for the price you pay. Right on the beach, and had a big balcony with covering. Negatives: we arrived during their Independence weekend so most nights were very loud and we could hear everything outside. Lots of vendors on the beach so better to just ignore them. Housekeeping only occured once within our week. which we wish they did more but just had to ask for a few things we needed. The resturant downstairs was very good, a little expensive but we ate there almost everyday and enjoyed all of our meals
We loved staying at The Still Beach House! The view is unbeatable, and we enjoyed being able to pop down to the beach from our room. The kitchenette is comfortably equipped - we made breakfast in our room each day to save some money. The rooms aren't the most updated, but they're clean and comfortable - exactly what I would expect at this price point. The owners and staff are kind and welcoming, too.
Still beach house a great place to stay.Michele made arrangements for airport transportation with paw paw who will also take you around the island for tour.Beautiful view of piston ,with beach ,great swimming ,restaurant right downstairs.Peter got us all set up for water tours, snorkeling and walked us into rain forest ,Great people ,beautiful views, convenient to everything.Thank you Michelle!
View from room balcony is amazing. Easy to catch a water taxi to Anne Chastenet and Sugar beach from front of the property. $25 each way. Don’t let locals broker a boat ride or tour for you… Seashells restaurant is convenient and ok.
Property is tucked away with easy access to the beach. Bedroom was good size and nicely air conditioned. There was also a kitchen / living area which was nice but not air conditioned. There was a ceiling fan and a floor fan but room stayed quite warm so we didn't spend much time there. Attached deck was great. Michelle was very accommodating and was available if you needed her. There is an attached restaurant which was handy. Had to use a car service to get to the other beaches, etc.
We have been here the last week and were blown away by the view when we arrived! It’s a fantastic place to stay and go explore. We used it as a base to visit other places and it was great. Pros: THE VIEW! The beach is right downstairs, you can walk around the town and to the neighbouring beaches if you are feeling up to it, water taxis if you aren’t. The bed is comfortable, the aircon works, although we had a couple of nights where it wasn’t working as well and it kept making a loud noise to wake us up. Great fridge freezer in the room, had a couple of welcome beers and sodas in which was nice. They provide beach towels, pretty foliage in the room and crockery and cutlery, plus kettle and microwave. Cons: It’s not a hotel, don’t expect housekeeping everyday, although we didn’t need it and when they did come in they did a good job. The beach isn’t the cleanest, snorkelling to the right was good, but there was a lot of boat traffic to look out for. There’s only one simple lock on the front door, maybe not the best security as you can’t dead bolt it from the inside, but the balcony door somehow locked us out on the balcony one night, so maybe it was a good thing we couldn’t stop staff from unlocking our front door to rescue us! The seashells restaurant below is ok, the creole dishes were good, drinks are way above what 3beez on the beach charges though. Also I ordered the feta salad for $12 US dollars, it was less than a handful of lettuce, maybe half a tomato, a couple of slices of cucumber, some olives and a tiny sprinkle of feta that tasted more like blue cheese. I had a better salad as an accompaniment to a meal at a different restaurant. Didn’t complain as didn’t want it to be awkward with us staying above.
Absolutely loved our stay here. Stunning views and Soufrière beach right outside your door. Spacious apartment with kitchen with a nice balcony to sit and look at the Petit Piton and ocean. Right on the edge of town, close to restaurants and shops. Owner Michele was lovely and there to help if needed. Sea shell restaurant below served amazing food. Can’t wait to return.
Our room is very comfortable and clean. The view of the petit piton from our room is marvelous. The room is complete with the necessities that provide comfort. My great appreciation to Michelle who is just so accommodating with all our needs. She made our stay so memorable especially during our anniversary. Michelle put extra effort in decorating our room. It was pleasure meeting her.
Was perfect for location, views and price. It’s a bit dated but bed was comfortable. We knew it was above a restaurant so expected noise. T tends to stop around 10PM so that is good. After that all you hear are the waves. So as long as you go with right expectations you will be good.
You can't beat the property as far as location and beautiful view. It was nice to wake up to Petit Piton and the harbor every morning. Can't imagine a more spectacular setting. Great, low key property, enjoyed it better than the snobby properties up at Rodney Bay. Simple, comfortable rooms. Totally confused by the grouchy wait staff there. They're all in the wrong business, I can't remember any of them smiling or being friendly, kind of ruined the whole vibe of the place. Why such a poor attitude? I didn't want to eat at the restaurant because they brought me down. Big vacation buzz kill. Also, they could have kept the beach a little cleaner, quite a bit of trash out there, but it's not the greatest beach on the island anyway. I'd stay there again but probably not go to the restaurant even though the food is good.
Great location for the area. Very nice rooms and right on the beach. Couldn't ask for anything better.
Fantastic property, meals at the restaurant were great, and the views from our room and the deck of the restaurant were second to none. We spent plenty of time swimming at the beach in front, snorkeling, and jumping off the dock-would recommend to anyone visiting Saint Lucia/Sufriere
Perfect spot if you want a peaceful apartment with a fabulous view
This was a true hidden gem! Room was comfortable- great bed, outlets for Americans, kitchenette included. But the view from the patio was the best part! Waking up seeing the water in front, and the Pitons to the left. Absolutely serene and gorgeous! Loved having the restaurant right below and being able to walk right down to the beach from there. The location is perfect- walkable into town. A lot of the excursions we did were a very short drive away. The only reason we didn't give it a 5 was we took 2 nights of ice cold showers. We contacted the property after the first night of cold shower and they were very prompt to respond and say it would be addressed! But that evening it was cold again. We think maybe there were just too many people showering at the same time that couldn't be supported by the water heater, because the next morning the water was warm. Overall, we would absolutely stay here again!! We loved the property and it worked well for our needs!
Michele made our stay special. She was helpful, friendly, and very accommodating. I highly recommend her and The Still Beach House.
The room over the restaurant and bar had a very nice balcony overlooking the Pitons. It was great being on the beach and walk easily to the restaurant and bar and town. The staff were friendly and helpful. Snorkeling is 50 meters from the beach in very calm waters. Comfortable accommodations. Occasionally the music from the town and bar was loud.
If you’re here for the view, this is it – stay here. Waking up and seeing the Petite Piton right in front of me with boats of various sizes going across the bay then you will love this place. We had breakfast downstairs at the separate restaurant, and really enjoyed the coconut pancakes and the scrambled eggs. At night, we walked a few minutes down the road to Orlando’s restaurant and had a seven course gourmet meal. It was fabulous and the chef was wonderful. The location of the hotel was dreamy and quiet. It rained at night, and I got beautiful pictures of a palm tree that was lit up at night with the rain falling. The bed was super comfortable and the place was clean. The pipes in the shower has been redone, but the water was warm and enjoyable.
Nothing to complain about really lovey people (Rachel and Michelle) in attendance, apartment was just what we needed. A short walk to Massey Mini and town centre, 30mtrs to the beach. What a view we could have spent a lot more for all inclusive with plush surroundings and a sun-bed but chose to visit Sugar bay and anse Chastane by water for lunch at resort restaurant and good snorkelling. Ask at bar below for Peter really nice helpful guy. I did not compare prices with other excursions but was happy with what he provided. Look up Paw Paw for land taxi services nice guy and very tidy taxi. A fabulous stay after an equally fabulous stay in Rodney Bay the week before. Top tips Mud bath and Sulphur spring early, take a beer at the top of Tet Paul Trail, swim as much as you can and smile/say hello to everyone you pass just makes you feel good.
Wonderful
Lovely location right at the end of the beach Quiet nights Some snorkling at the edges of the cliff right next to the lodging The room was beautiful and comfortable Michelle the owner and her staff were really helpful The restaurant downstairs had great views and comfortable seating I loved the creole chicken and my husband the shrimp linguine We walked up the road behind the lodge and went the anse chastinte - about 2 miles or so according to the sign and went swimming and snorting there Climbed gros piton- beautiful views and great challenge Masy grocery store was in walking distance Had a full kitchen and fridge A great stay!
Michelle and the entire staff took very good care of me and my family. Prior to coming she set us up with Paw Paw, who safely drive us around throughout the week. He was incredibly flexible if our plans changed. The restaurant staff downstairs at Seashell worked around the clock during the Xmas holiday week. Peter set us up with an incredible experience snorkeling. We also hiked Gros Piton. The from our room was a dramatic beachfront vista of Petit Piton. My family felt very comfortable and safe in this studio apt with plenty of room to relax and take in the beauty from the balcony. We were in walking distance to downtown Soufriere and frequently visited to get money and groceries. The Still Beach House provided an incredibly relaxing holiday for us all.
Excellent view of Petit Piton from the patio. In few steps you are at hummingbird beach. Good restaurant on site and owners very kind.
Nice beachfront stay
We flew to Saint Lucia on a whim without having a chance to plan, and we were lucky to find this gem in the general area that we wanted to explore. Basic accommodations with a comfortable bed and the sound of ocean waves to fall asleep to, with an amazing view to wake up to. The restaurant downstairs was pricey but delicious and convenient, and was probably the best option in the area by foot. The only bad part was our timing - someone cut all of the branches off a nearby tree with a chainsaw early morning that interrupted our sleep, but the good news for the next guest is that this project is complete and you’d have an even better view of the beach and water. Would recommend and we would repeat!
We really wanted to like this place, the view of the Pitons was wonderful, and the housekeeping staff was superb. If not for the staff, I would have given only 1 star. Can't speak to all the rooms, but Room 1 was a real disappointment, especially for the money we paid. 2 glaring safety issues. First, there is no security lock on the inside of the door, which meant that anyone with a key could enter your room at any time. Secondly, the ironing board provided continually collapsed which could result in a serious burn. Asked for a replacement, and the one they brought was even worse. There were no toiletries - no shampoo, no conditioner, no shower gel - just a used bottle of hand soap. There was a lovely tea kettle and coffee pot in the room, but nothing to put in them. The rod in the closet was pretty much unusable. Despite sufficient depth, the rod was mounted in such a way that anything hung there would rub against the wall. The lights on the nightstand did not have a switch - the only way to turn the light on is via a switch that is part of the outlet on the wall. Apparently, there was an issue with the shower plumbing at some point. The repair was with PVC (common on the island), but looked like it was done by a rank beginner. The shower head itself looked like someone took the lid of a jar and poked holes in it. On our next to last day, we stopped at the restaurant, (food is OK, prices reasonable, service slooow), but they could serve almost nothing on their menu as they did not have the ingredients - we ended up going into town for the meal.
The ocean and piton view from our room was spectacular and definitely a main allure of this place, probably the best view in all of Soufriere. The host, Michelle, was absolutely fantastic, so hospitable and caring. We were flying in from Los Angeles via Miami and got stuck in Miami for 2 days because of a storm.... Michelle accommodated us no problem and we were able to stay 2 extra days/ nights, making up for those 2 first days of our vacation that got ruined. The restaurant at the hotel is great, as well as a couple of others in walking distance. All the staff were kind and attentive, but especially Michelle, who made us feel so welcome and well taken care of. The whole energy of the Still beach house is amazing and it's also centrally located to a plethora of activities like incredible snorkeling, Tet Paul Trail and the Pitons, the Sulphur Springs mud baths, Diamond waterfall and the botanical garden, horseback riding, zip lining, cocoa plantation tours, and so much more! If you choose St. Lucia, which has unrivaled natural beauty, this is the spot, Soufriere is the town to see, and The Still is the place to stay!
Million dollar view of Petite Piton and Sourfiere! Hotel is comfortable and the staff is excellent. The tour of the Boulay Plantation is not to be missed that included an amazing breakfast. Walkable to downtown and convenient to shops and restaurants. The Sea Shell restaurant on the lower level and right on the beach is very good as wel!.
Ok, for starters, the view from the room is absolutely post-card perfect, it really is right on the beach. There's plenty of parking. But that's the end of the pro's list. I know the rooms were cleaned before our arrival, but they're still pretty rough. Sparse furnishings. Rudimentary plumbing. I cant say too much about the "staff" because the folks that let us in just happened to be leaving for the day as we arrived... not sure how it would have worked if we'd missed them. Perhaps the restaurant downstairs would have given us the key, but no one there is particularly motivated or helpful. Every time we tried to order something, I had to get up and look around for a server, and when I found one, they seemed bothered by my request. Also, I messaged the property about checkout protocol while we were there... never got a reply. I'm not trying to damage the owners reputation or business, but we had booked another stay elsewhere for the second half of the trip, and when the time came, we were ready to leave. Location wise, it looks on a map as if you could stroll along the beach, or walk to town. Not so. Maybe 100 yards down the beach is rough. Like, lots of trash, people bathing and doing laundry in the river, folks around that either gave us unwelcoming looks or offered drugs. Cool that it's not super tourist-y, but it really felt like we were not wanted. The town is very sad, and very intimidating and we really didn't feel safe or like we could relax and look around at all
The still beach house was a great stay. The amenities are basic but it has everything you need. Michelle was nice and helpful and seashells was the best price for great food we found in all of Soufriere. The views were amazing, the wifi was fast for working remotely, and the house keeping staff was so sweet. Captain Peter provided us with awesome excursions. Definitely recommend staying here.
The Still Beach House probably has the best view in Soufriere, just stunning! Location is right on the beach at the west end of Soufriere, and most restaurants and some smaller shops are in walking distance. Michelle was great and very helpful with anything we needed.
We had a fantastic stay at Still Beach. I would highly recommend a stay at this wonderful guest house! The room was wonderful with good facilities and the bed was extremely comfortable and stylish, in the plantation style. Top quality and very, very clean! Our balcony was amazing! It was fantastic to sit on the balcony watching tall traditional sailing ships come into the bay and watch all the small local boats zip around. The balcony has a wonderful view of the Grand Piton that cannot be beaten! I don’t think there is a better room on the island! It is a one minute walk to the beautiful beach below, where you can swim with views of the palm trees and rainforest mountains. Under the rooms is a super restaurant where we fell in love with the local St Lucian fishcakes! We visited exotic tropical gardens, soaked in mineral pools and went on a boat trip to Sugar Beach which is totally stunning. Soufriere town is very interesting town and very traditional, in the old style. A gem. Melissa was totally helpful before and during the visit, helping us getting a taxi from the north, and with any other of our queries. The housekeepers were fantastic too. The owners of the property were particularly hospitable to us and showed us the real St Lucia. We would recommend staying at Still Beach to anyone who wants a true Saint Lucian experience. Thank you for our fantastic stay.
it felt like home
I dont know where to start. I loved everything about this place. The room was updated and nice, the ocean view balcony was breathtaking, the cleaning staff were around all day and so helpful, and the convinience of having a restaurant downstairs was perfect. Its on the beach so its easy to make multiple trips a day to the water. I had room #2 which doesnt include a kitchen but it has a king size bed, fridge microwave and kettle, dishes and utensils. They leave you a welcome treat with fruit and water in the fridge. Also a bottle of rum with 2 kinds of pop. There is wifi and it works. The tv apparently has cable channels although i couldnt figure out how to get them but it has google tv so i was able to sign into Netflix and youtube etc. Ps. Room #1 and #2 have the view from my pictures. Also the room next to #2 but im just unsure what room number it had. The other rooms are partial view. One con: this doesnt have anything to do with the hotel, but something to think about. The bars nearby and in town constantly play loud music, and im talking all hours of the day and night (even around 6am). I heard constant bass in the room, mostly it was quiet and tolerable but as soon as you go on the balcony its as if its right next to you. If it wasnt the bar down the beach it was the bar on the main road, or it was the restaurant below but the owner did confront the restaurant and they were quiet after that. I really dont think there would be an area in soufriere that you cant hear this music though so might aswell enjoy this amazing hotel!
We had a great time in soufriere and at the still beach house. Close to all the major sites in St. Lucia. On the beach with wake up views of the Pitons. Beach is lively with locals on the weekend. Quick walk into town without steep hills.
The still Beach house is very close to shopping and a lil bar right next door. If you’re looking for a quiet place, this is not it! Tables and chairs are being moved around in the restaurant before 7 am. I don’t mind music but if you are an early to bed kind of person, loud music from bar and boats at least until 10p and mostly til midnight! I didn’t mind. Loved the staff but didn’t appreciate waking up to no breakfast before a 6hrs tour. No apologies or suggestions either. Restaurant and hotel are not affiliated so no room charges, no lounge chairs on beach and sand is hot. The beach in front of the still is beautiful, clear and refreshing! I enjoyed my stay. Annette, the housekeeper, is the best and a fountain of information. Other than Annette and security there are no other hotel employees ☺️ would I go back to the Still? I would but would better prepared!
Absolutely loved our stay at Still Beach House. The views of Petit Piton from our balcony were breathtaking. The entire staff of the hotel and connected restaurant were so helpful and just so welcoming. We arrived on Good Friday and Michelle arranged our transport from the airport and offered to get us some groceries (and a lovely bottle of sparkling wine) as most businesses were closed - truly above and beyond. We had a 1 bedroom suite, which had everything we needed. We felt right at home here and didn’t want to leave.
Spent a great week at The Still Beach House. Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable beds, great views. Had all of the amenities too, Friday, microwave, cups, plates etc.
What a fantastic room!! We had a beautiful suite and balcony overlooking the ocean. The manager stopped by to say hello on day one of four, but otherwise the staff was pretty non-existent.
We loved our stay at the Still Beach House the location was in walking distance to downtown and a lovely beach bar. We had dinner at Seashells a few times as it was right down stairs. The view was amazing we loved sitting out on the deck. The room was clean and the air worked great. The shower hook ups were interesting but didn't keep you from getting a shower so not a issue for us. The beds were harder than I prefer but that is always a thing with travel. I would totally stay here again! Sorry about the photos I only had a video so had to screen capture.
Quite a strange place. We'd apparently been moved to a larger room with a kitchen but the toilet didn't flush and the tap didn't work in the bathroom. The netting round the bed was very old and discoloured and everything was very dated. The (I presume) owner was very friendly though and introduced himself at breakfast then arranged a taxi for us to the airport. Just feels like these rooms which are above a restaurant are a bit neglected, which is a shame because the view from the balcony is stunning. A little tlc and updating would go a long way.
Amazing view and reasonably priced! Would go again
We loved staying at the Still Beach House in Soufriere! It was a calm, beautiful location. The rooms are huge and comfortable. The staff and owner are friendly. And the restaurant is tasty. Thank you!
View was top, swimmable beach. Good restaurant there for Soufriere i think, but not cheap, bed was nice...firm but soft. It was fine for our first nite in St Lucia. Arrived in dark, hard to find but locals provide direction. Restaurant was good atmosphere, food acceptable, saved us having to go to an unfamiliar town place. Walk to Soufriere main area, all services there. Perhaps the only decent breakfast in town. Overall a good choice to experience authentic Soufriere town.
The village of Sourfriere has some of the best views of the Pitons and the view from here is about as good as it gets. Beyond the view it seemed like a reasonable value. We had a large room with AC, a small TV, a balcony with 2 chairs and a small table, private bath and a safe. There is a small restaurant downstairs and from there a few steps down to the beach. There's a shower to rinse when coming off the beach but no chairs to use on the beach. Saw some broken glass so wore water shoes into the ocean. It's an easy walk into town where there's a Massy grocery, a small outdoor market by the bus station and the harbor dock. There's no sign at the entrance so had to ask around to make sure we were in the right place. (We were driving ourselves.) We had a water issue in our room, but the staff was very friendly and did everything they could to make sure our visit was comfortable.
Great location!
It seemed like I was the first guest after closing for COVID and reopening. I was a little hesitant to book, but my stay turned out to be excellent. There is no front desk, but the staff from the restaurant downstairs help me check in. And everything operated smoothly for my 3 night stay. I was given the WhatsApp of Shane. If I needed assistance with arranging transport general, contacted him. He was very responsive and knowledgeable. Every evening I sat out on the porch and was mesmerized by pitons, such an excellent view. It was extremely relaxing. The restaurant downstairs was excellent. And the snorkeling in the bay near the hotel was decent too! And the WiFi was some of the best in the Caribbean.
Fantastic food, drinks and service! Huge thanks to Bradley and the team for a lovely evening. We had one of the best meals we had in St Lucia and the service was friendly, and super quick! We'll definitely be coming back before the end of our stay.
perfect location right on the beach & walking distance to town lovely clean rooms, really good breakfasts staff all welcoming and helpful especially Rachel , Annette & Janice . We were travelling around but liked it so much we came back for the last ten days if our holiday. Will definitely visit again
The property was in a super location, amazing view. Very nice staff. Close to AAD dive shop, amazing diving, snorkeling right in front as well. Had a little issue with our booking but it got worked out Hope to return soon
This place was recommended as a place to eat by a local who was our guide in the Volcano Park! She said to ask for “Pinky” when we arrived Pinky was there but the restaurant was closed and we were told they would be opened the following day! We traveled from the north end to the south end for an hour and forty-five minutes the next day and it was well worth the travel!! The view of the Pitons and water were AMAZING from this little outdoor restaurant! The food was fresh and tasty and very affordable. Pinky was so accommodating! This restaurant was an incredible find!
the staff were very friendly and breakfasts were good
We stopped here off the local beach on a Sunday afternoon. They had a buffet as the only food option and we were looking for a drink and ceviche only. As we were walking away, Pinky (waitress) chased us down and said Chef Paul was willing to make us the dish. It was tasty, fresh and good. Pinky was amazing and so kind. Great service!
Wonderful. Simple yet amazing. Walking distance to town. Right on the beach. Clean little rooms. We had one of the full apartment like with kitchenette. Nothing too fancy, yet perfect. Owner David would do anything to help, giving a lot of information on things to do.
The location of the resort is spectacular. You are right on the beach looking up at one of the pitons. The service however is lacking. Although everyone is extremely kind, and willing to do what ever it is they need to do for you, it'll take a while.
Anicia and the entire staff were so friendly and helpful, The breakfast they served us on our balcony every morning was absolutely incredible! WiFi did not work. We occasionally ran out of hot water. Our room was very roomy (beach suite) and comfortable. The location was excellent. We walked out onto the beach and snorkeled, and then next door to the Hummingbird for a mango daiquiri for happy hour.
Beautiful location- very hospitable service Exactly as pictured
The hotel is built into the side of a mountain and the parking lot is on top so it's a 3-story stairs to the bottom level (no provisions for the handicapped). At the beach level is a small bar and an open eating area. On the second level are 5 2-room suites which reminded me of a lake cabin in northern Minnesota - very basic. A large combination kitchcen/living room and a bedroom separated by the bathroom. The facility could use some upgrades. The lighting was inadequate; shelves were missing from the fridge; the balcony furniture was uncomfortable and worn. But it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Even thou it was clean, we did see two cockroaches which were almost dead so the must me some type of control. The 'included' breakfast was very limited - some fruit and bread which had been passed over the top of a toaster and a small serving of scrambled eggs (which were pretty good). Lunch was buffet style and not bad. Lots of variety and tasted fine. The eating area gets quite crowded because tour groups stop there for lunch. Can't comment on dinner because the chef had quit and dinner was not served.
We paid in full in November 2018. We spoke to David to arrange transport from the airport two days before arrival in Feb 2019. It was left to the taxi driver from the airport to break the news that we were being dumped to the Hummingbird, and the hotel was overbooked. So we never got to see the facilities, the room or the restaurant despite paying for a 3 night stay. The Hummingbird though was, adjacent, excellent and very accommodating. Their restaurant was excellent. I will always book the Hummingbird in preference, and if our experience is anything to go by, if you book the Still Beach House you risk having paid for nothing and being dumped into adjoining accommodation with no notice.
solar hot water meant no hot showers in the morning
Breathtaking view of Petit Piton. Right at the beach. When we arrived, no one was there to check us in. There is no reception desk. Tried to call the number shown on the reservation confirmation email but no one answered. Our taxi driver noticed a sign outside with the phone number (different from what we indicated on the confirmation email) and phoned that number. Only then did a housekeeping staff and security showed up and let us in one of the rooms. The plumbing made noise at interims throughout the day and night. The TV was broken and did not work.
We just finished an amazing trip to St. Lucia, and had wonderful time there due to some insightful tips here on trip advisor. Due to late planning, we ended up booking Still Beach House in Soufriere. We were nervous because it has quite a mixed reviews but we found it to be a really nice, spacious place to stay with kids. The view from our room was beautiful, and the staff was simply too kind. It is understandable to see some negative reviews, because this is definitely not high on luxury. It is a place to enjoy the local lifestyle in a relaxing way by being up close to many natural parks and activities. The house caretakers Rachel and Annette would go out of their way to make us dinner and get groceries from the supermarket. Every morning they cooked a hot breakfast that was nice and would bring it to our rooms. Even their property guard Nelson was also helpful with any help. Overall, the staff was friendly and location was too good to worry about small things.
Beautiful location. Very friendly staff. Amenities are ok and can be improved upon but staff tries their best to meet all your needs.
We only went here for lunch, as we're staying at The Hummingbird next door. It was an enjoyable buffet meal, although I was surprised that the price has gone up since last year by $19 EC each. Go though, you will enjoy it.
the location was great, we love the country side so this was a very good place to start site seeing.
Although the location is stunning, it is quite a run down B&B where you see signs of neglect in the upkeep of rooms. The staff (very limited) tries very hard to be helpful but is constrained by having non management on premises. With a little bit of TLC this could be an amazing place to stay.
Awesome view of Petit Piton. Beach front with amazing snorkelling. Welcoming staff that made you feel like family. It was hard to leave after 10 days. We were mainly interested in the hiking and snorkelling but the Tour of the plantation with Thomas was an unexpected highlight of our trip. David’s (the owner) hospitality and willingness to share history of the island. Short walk to town to grocery store pharmacy bank and restaurants. Waliking dustance to Anse Manin. The hill is steep. Easy access via water taxi to other snorkelling areas.
This was the second place I stayed at on this trip. A vase with flowers and fresh fruit greeted me on arrival. Ginger (resident cat) came to visit and spent some time on my lap. It's just a short walk into Soufriere to the grocery store, other restaurants and a few shops. Diamond Waterfalls and Botanical Gardens is also within walking distance. On my last day, David (owner) drove the guests to his plantation for breakfast and a tour. I was a bit disappointed at my previous hotel as it seemed most things I wanted to do required 2 to 4 people. David sent Thomas to my room to see where I wanted to go. Thomas spent a good portion of 3 days showing me the rain forest, Toraille, Piton and Superman waterfalls, Tet Paul Trail, the Volcano, and snorkeling at Anse Chastanet and Anse Mamin beaches. He was very informative about local plants and history of the island. I would have given this hotel 4 stars, but added the fifth because of Thomas.
Great spot to have a buffet lunch, albeit it gets busy with your boats arriving. The view of the Pitons is amazing. The food is hearty and tasty. The beach is great for swimming and snorkelling and there are showers to use afterwards.
We stayed at Still Beach House for our week long honeymoon and absolutely loved it. Our room had an amazing view of the Petit Piton and the Soufriere harbor. We had a two room suite with the bedroom being well air-conditioned and the other offering a nice breeze from the balcony. The main room had a full kitchenette which we were able to make breakfast and even a dinner on. The balcony had a gorgeous view and we enjoyed eating breakfast with a mountain view every morning. There is a lunch buffet and bar downstairs. We had some of our best times in St. Lucia at that bar with the amazing staff of the Still Beach House. We truly felt like family and really enjoyed talking to Jackie, Frederick, Kinnion, and several others. Our room keeper whose name I unfortunately can't recall right now was AMAZING!!! She not only did a spectacular job at keeping the room but brought us a basket of local fruits, always had fresh picked tropical flowers and vegetation around our room and even indulged us with the islands renowned hot chocolate tea on two separate evenings which we felt was so special to us. The location of The Still is central to all area activities and you can walk a short distance into town to visit the bank. The next door Hummingbird in offers cocktails after the Still Beach bar closes and also dinner/dessert for the evening cravings. I reccommend The Still Beach House to independent travelers who want a real experience, not a "Sandals" or "Sugar Beach Plantation" curated one.
Still Beachhouse and owners Margaret and David became friends to myself and my husband we are pleased to say what a beautiful place to relax and have fun her staff is very welcoming and very easy to get along with everyone I will always make this still Beachhouse my destination spot on my next travels. Thomas was quite the guide myself and my husband and grandson and friends Enjoy his company on the teachings of all of his knowledge. I recommend to everyone on their next travels to consider still Beach house.🌺☀️😘
We enjoyed 3 days of comfort here. One of our favourites on our tour of the island. Easily accessible to town without a vehicle. Beach access and fantastic views of Petit Piton. Lots to do within a few kms.
Pros: I didn't get robbed The room was clean had 4 walls and the room ceiling didn't leak Directly on the ocean could hear the waves Great view of one of the two Pitons Cons: Challenging area (public beach very busy with locals) No running water in the day time Spotty hot water had ac but no way to close windows so ac went right out Lots of mosquitos Restaurant was a disaster, no real waitstaff just who was ever there served you? totally unmanaged In room safe was literally opened by a skeleton key? Any food order took a solid 1 hour, (but true of all restaurants on the island) The restaurant bar doubled as the front desk, 90% of the time abandoned Could not ever figure out who was in charge of anything
Property held an event music loud and ended late not good for getting some sleep.
Nice location, but room was average at best. Food options were also average and very expensive.
If you are self sufficient, this is the place. There was no office, the maid gave us the keys, no check in, no check out. This is not a place that pampers you. Continental breakfast included. This area was very poor. We did not get breakfast at all one day. No employees showed up.
Arrived by taxi at night from airport. Driver had been given my room key so I just settled in - and never yet checked in at reception. I don't think there even is a front desk. The place is so laid back and the position on the beach opposite the Pitons hills is stunning. Soufriere is quite small and you can walk into town in 5 minutes. Be prepared to be approached on the way by locals wanting to sell you something, but they aren't persistent. Found it quieter not going directly along the beach and taking main road into town. The usual calm of the place is often disturbed at lunchtime by noisy parties of cruise ship passengers on an excursion, and there is some noise at night from the resort next door. But you learn to live with it and the view from room 1 compensates a great deal. Friendly chambermaid, but she didn't do her rounds till about 4 p.m. And the place is built on a hill with 2 flights of steep stairs from car park to ground floor (bedrooms on first floor) so no good at all for anyone with mobility issues.
That's more like bed & breakfast than the hotel. The location was good at the beach comparing to other hotels in Soufriere.
Lacking in management and meals at the attached restaurant, run by brother & sister. But VERY pleasant. Rm 1 best view of the beach & Mt. We stayed a few days and loved it! Nearby outings great. Beach & harbor with wooden boats fishing and sailing vessels coming & going...great to watch. Petite Piton (& it's hidden twin) magical, setting the mood. Flowers & hummingbirds. Fruit from their nearby plantation (ask for a tour). Historical family, this was the grandmother's house, and the family did run a Still.
