Really friendly staff, particularly towards the kids

The restaurant was a bit cramped for breakfast. The dining area was a bit small for a family hotel. But the food was really good. If I could suggest a bar menu with sandwiches or toasted sandwiches on same. A lot of families arrived at the same time after a day out in Emerald Park and all that was required was some sort of sandwich or small snack to keep the kids happy before bed time.

Leisure centre, bar, restaurant and cafe on site, proximity to the town centre and to the university

Pity that the leisure centre hours are more restricted at the weekend, which meant I personally couldn’t profit from them on the second night

The location was perfect for our plans

The breakfast was great, overall high quality and generous. The staff were also quite friendly, they answered any questions I had very kindly and were understanding to any issues I had.

The shower didn't get that hot, the room itself was a little bare-bones, then fan wasn't powerful enough to cool down the room, and the toilet paper was mediocre. The hotel layout was also just a bit confusing, and for my room specifically (171) there happened to be construction right outside, and the crane made a bit of noise.

Excellent food both in The Arkle and breakfast in The Enclosure. Elemis toiletries smell amazing.

The bed could have been softer

The family room was big and modern, it had air conditioning and a fan which can be unusual in Irish hotels. Beds were very comfortable and we were in a quiet part of the hotel. The shower was very good and the mirror didn’t fog up afterwards. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of foods and drinks. Staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Location is superb, the receptionist very helpful, chatty.

From the moment we walked in the front door we loved it. The staff, the room, the pool and sauna and the meal we had in the bar to the breakfast. All excellent

As usual, a wonderful stay at Glenroyal with lovely, helpful & friendly staff who have become like friends. Special mention to Anna, Ernie, Eduarda, Victor, Rachel & many others. They are always very accommodating & polite.

Not enough rooms with air-conditioning. Even with an aircon unit, it is not enough to cool down the big rooms.

the vegetarian options were very limited, when i rased this with the manager on duty, they just repeated what i said back to me, but did not provide a solution at all.

nearly 300 euro for 1 room on a sunday night with ...... no residence bar - our party and many other residence back from a concert looking for refreshments and nothing available room roasting - air conditioning unit was not cooling room and was very noisey morning at 9pm jackhammer

Breakfast was poor, no tea or coffee brought to table , coffee was from a self service machine and it wasn't working correctly on one morning , staff had to fix it so a que by time it was fixed , for the cost of b and b per night it should be better

A lovely atmosphere in the hotel. Staff were very friendly and so helpful with any enquiries. We met a lovely receptionist, Eduarda when we were checking out. She was so warm and bubbly. She would put you in a good mood on a very early Monday morning. As our trip is broken into two parts we can't wait for our return on Wednesday. Our boys loved the games room and swimming pool.

Picky but no bath in room

The Hotel is very well maintained, and the Team are extremely friendly and polite. The Gaming room is an excellent facility, the Family Pool also was lovely, however it is showing it's age now. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The welcome from Edurda on reception was outstanding, and the Restaurant Manager Peter also was very capable and handled our dissatisfaction with the food very well. The entire team at this property are exceptional.

The Food, and food service was disappointing. At that level, given the Hotel is very obviously well run, and the Team so pleasant, it would be fair to expect the catering would align. It didn't for us. The Food service was underwhelming, and the presentation and quality was extremely disappointing.

I liked the room I was upgraded to after initially being put into a pokey room. Perhaps because I was a woman travelling alone. The management dealt with the issue when I raised the issue. The initial room was not the 4 star quality that I had paid for. A female travelling alone should be treated as any other traveller when paying a high rate for a room. I left the hotel feeling the management had dealt with my issue very effectively. The room I spent my last two nights in was excellent, as was the breakfast.

Initially not being given a quality of room for the price I paid until I complained about how small the room I had been given was. The management dealt with the issue very effectively. When paying a high price for a room, despite single occupancy, I should have been given the better room from the start.

Food at restaurant was excellent and staff were very friendly. The gym was also excellent.

Housekeeping very poor. Only cleaned room at 5pm each day which was very inconvenient. Asked multiple times for earlier service but request not met. Reception staff not friendly at all. Bathroom needs maintenance and would have appreciated housekeeping to actually clean the bath everyday. Bed sheets not changed for the week and bed not properly made.

Parents room was way too small, our family room wasn’t clean, the bed wasn’t dressed properly ( there was no sheet under the pillows, all tucked into the bottom of the bed) bathroom and rubbish from previous guest. Reception was painfully slow.

Location of the breakfast room was very dark, there are beautiful rooms in the hotel with natural lighting but the breakfast was served in a pub environment.

The ingredients tasted cheep and there was a bog standard selection.

Couldn’t use the pool when classes were on, check in 4pm but no where to sit to get a drink/food while waiting. Breakfast this morning did not taste good,
