The location , the friendliness of the staff.
Really not sure what the hotel was promoting itself as. Was it a luxury 5 star hotel or an upmarket beach bar with rooms. Why the hotel thought that having a DJ playing loud hard dance music at dinner was acceptable I do not know. It could have saved itself the cost of the DJ and played some Jazz or soft West-coast rock. Surely this would have been more suitable and encourage more people to dine in house .

Beautiful spot with great views. Loved the local and seasonal food, which gives you a real taste of Sardinia
Really bad experience! They did not clean our room The service was bad Overpriced!
We just returned home from a 5 night stay. We had a very nice time but this is NOT a 5 star resort, this is a 4 star resort that charges 5 star rates (I think another reviewer wrote this as well). The property was beautiful with water views but it is not on the beach. The main pool area is a nice place to chill and stare at the view. My biggest issue was their espresso/coffee. I hated it and this is my favorite part of my morning so that was extremely disappointing. We will not be able to stay at any of the Aethos Properties since they use the same Portuguese beans in ALL of the properties. Thought it was odd that they did not use a local, Italian coffee. We were upgraded and the room was very small and the shower head was set too low. Turn down service was always inconsistent, The food was very good, especially the breakfast. And the concierge, Phillipo was great! As were Lorenzo and the bar team. It is a nice hotel if the price reflected 4-Star pricing.
Staff were lovely , rooms clean
Zero ambience (apart from one night )there was no music even though speakers by both pools or in the gym or dining . We expected so much more ambience from what your marketing sold ! dinner was average food !
De tudo - localização, instalações, equipe funcionários…
De nada
Perfect hotel! The location is amazing, the view is beautiful ! The stuff was very welcoming and kind. We would definitely come back
Forgot to clean the room one morning
The sure sign of a top hotel is when the guests greet each other with a smile or joke on the facilities. As a result of the kind attention and quality of services delivered by the staff. It is a two way street.
Events are an important source of income for the hotel. They should never barr the individual guest from the main pool area and dinner terrace. The VIP is the individual guest over the wedding participant.
Beautiful option with stunning views, food was amazing, view from pools stunning and staff were exceptionally helpful
I have to say, I’m someone disappointed to leave this review. If I could’ve given it 2.5 stars I would have and here is why - Firstly, the positive points. 1. The senior reception and concierge teams were exceptionally professional at all times, very helpful. 2. The pools appear to have lifeguards which is a first time I have seen this at a hotel and is a nice touch. 3. Housekeeping always kept the room spotlessly clean. 4. Location to village is a 12 minute walk. Now sadly, the frustrating things. 1. We booked room 408 which was a sea view room. Stayed for 7 nights. Whilst the bedroom is nice, it has zero soundproofing and this means you can hear when next door flush the loo at 4am. Another issue with the rooms is that the access to the rooms passes the bathroom which is sited next to the main entrance door and if someone is on the loo, in a different room, you will hear it. Minibar prices are way too expensive. Think €7 for a bottle of beer you can buy in the village for €1.40. Don’t know why hotels do this, they would sell more at lower profit if it was reasonably price vs selling none to us. 2. It seems, as you might expect that at the start of the season they have trainee staff for the restaurants and other areas. In my opinion, these guys shouldn’t be allowed to work with customers until the get to a standard suitable enough to be 5 star hotel standard. Breakfast some days was hit and miss, some stuff would arrive, other days it wouldn’t. 3. The pool. We were unlucky with the weather but given the rain and thunderstorms, they should be bringing the seat pads off the sun loungers and storing them in the dry? They don’t, so when the sun did come out, the towels basically soaked up the water and they became damp. Change towel, damp again. It’s not rocket science but should have been considered in a 5 star resort. It is worthwhile noting that the pool in the bottom of the hotel is located next to a main road, you do have road noise. We had three meals by the pool, two were decent, but we shared a pizza and frankly for a 5 star resort in Italy, putting out what appeared to be a ready made pizza base with some topping was poor. €18 for a 10 inch pizza, vs BIGA Neapolitan in the village offering a 12 inch proper pizza for €12. It’s not really about the money, it is however about the quality. Speaking of which, cocktails. Expect to pay €22 - €45. Served in plastic cups if you have them around the pool. 4. Kids. This is a quiet resort, I did research and everything online seemed to point at kids over 10. No, by the pool kids were allowed to run around, jump on sunbeds, make as much noise as they wanted. I don’t think it is right that it isn’t adults only at this resort, it’s not geared up for kids. This isn’t a cheap place to stay, the pricing for food a drink is too much. My partner described it as all style and no substance which I agree with.
5 star prices, but sadly not justified. Staff are charming, but sadly that’s not enough. Food was fine, but not great. Unfortunately it was €7 for a tiny glass of coke and some cocktails were €50+. This would be fine at a genuine 5 star, but it’s all slightly tired and there were children running around the pool screaming… Room was okay, but again a 3 star room for 4 star prices. Shower was half broken and room inexplicably not cleaned for two days running. Staff were very friendly and talkative, but alas they were not yet up to speed. Food orders missed at breakfast, not having any local suggestions etc. Again, all fine at a 3/4 star, but no five star service at any point… I would suggest finding an alternative option if you’re after a luxury holiday.
This is really a most wonderful hotel. First of all the staff are so friendly, attentive and helpful. They really seemed to love having us to stay and looked to be happy in their work. We had a most beautiful room with a pool, overlooking the bay, from which we saw the most beautiful sunrises every morning and the colours of the sea change throughout the day. The infinity pool is wonderful, with a great view. The food and wine in the restaurant is exquisite. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. The experiences team helped us with arranging car hire and with a private tour of a local winery. They us as to the best places in the area to see. This is a very smart, relaxed and quiet hotel/resort. We will be coming back.
The hotel just reopened, and probably now is even better to experience the local area. Weather is perfect and around is not crowded. The hotel team is very enthusiastic, and the view over the sea is spectacular. Very quiet at night these days. The food at Zaïa is delicious, but above all, the people where very genuine and friendly. I think the infinity pool above is the best spot of the hotel and worth the visit. The beauty of Cannigione is that it’s open all year, and it feels more local and authentic because of that.
The staff was amazing
No heated pools
Beautiful part of Sardinia; the public beaches around are gorgeous and pristine; the staff at Aethos are really excellent; the restaurant is good. Sophisticated, great for couples and yet also child friendly without being overrun by children.
Not much. We had 3 hotels and this was the most expensive but was far inferior. Bathtub like shower was so hard to get into, splash pool never looked inviting. Long walk to get to breakfast.
Staff never engaged, never came to unclog the shower, never sent us restaurant recommendations like they said, never booked any excursions like they said. The price
The staff was great and the infinity pool amazing. Breakfast was delicious and very healthy.
For the price it is not worth it. The staff is very friendly and the architecture is beautiful. That is where the positives end. It is not on the beach and it is not walkable. The nearby beaches are crowded and you have to take a shuttle. Once you get there they are public and packed. If you are expecting a true beachfront luxury experience with food and drinks served on the sand this is not it. The property itself has a million steps. The views are nice, but Sardinia has plenty of places with equally beautiful views at a better value. Unless you plan to spend all your time at the pool and buy every meal on site, the location really does not work. It does not feel luxurious overall. We saw several other disappointed guests as well. The staff was very sweet and did their best. Their uniforms were adorable and I genuinely appreciated their kindness, but the location and setup of this place make it hard to recommend.
Great and friendly staff
Beautiful property, incredible views and location. The breakfasts were spectacular and customer service was truly exceptional. We were very sad to leave and left well rested and well cared for.
In a good location to be able to walk to restaurants and there is a fabulous view - they offer a shuttle service within a few kilometres to get to beaches and restaurants
Wouldn’t be suitable for those who are less mobile due to walking and lots of slopes and steps to facilitate the great views. If you want to explore wider you need to have a car as taxis are extremely expensive
Excellent spot. Incredible views. Great Service.
Wonderful hotel with great staff, views and a very high quality breakfast and pool areas. Dining options were good although the BBQ meal was very overpriced for the end product. As with many hotels it is hard to operate a fine dining restaurant in the same place that breakfast is served. Walking distance to Canningione and different beaches. Excursions via Cannigione are excellent. I’d stay here again
The facilities are great. Great details of design and comfort. They upgraded us and we weee very grateful and our room was beautiful.
The hotel caters to strictly foreigners so, despite being in Italy, you could be in another beautiful country. The Italian culture is inexistent. The staff is extremely nice and professional but addresses clients in default English. I’m Italian and I had to daily remind the staff that they could address me in Italian. The food is not Italian, despite being decent, it could be food from anywhere. The only Italian aspect is the location. All other italian factors have been intentionally or unintentionally removed. I do not believe this is a place you go if you appreciate Italian culture.
Our stay here was absolutely perfect. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is stunning and very clean. I have no complaints and hope to re-visit again in the future.
This property isn’t for vacation, for one night stay. All rooms have a private pool, but there is no swimming pool in the hotel, there is no place to hang out with friends or other family members.Hotel doesn’t have a beach or some separate area on the public beach.Again,if you planning to stay one night it’s worth it,This hotel is not for vacation.Stuff was very nice and helpful.
We stayed at Aethos and couldn’t have been happier. The grounds are gorgeous, the food is good especially breakfast, the pool and facilities are beautifully designed and well maintained. The staff was excellent and service was second to none. The area was really convenient in accessing many of the local and famous beaches and restaurants. I am definitely going back.
We stayed for 6 nights at Aethos where we met up with another couple. We received a warm welcome from Biram and great travel advice from manager Riccardo. Overall, the service was excellent and we would like to specially mention Eva at reception, Martina at the restaurant, and Gabriella in the hotel shop. We took a trip on the hotel’s Navan motor-launch and explored the Maddalena Archipelago. The pool areas were both inviting with amazing views, and we really enjoyed our morning swims from the deck We appreciated the interior styling of the hotel and bespoke ceramics and artwork.
This is the place to stay when traveling to Sardinia. Not in Costa Smeralda, but very close to beautiful beaches, tourist attractions, golf and boat tours. 20 minute drive to Cala di Volpe and Porto Cervo
The grounds and pools are clean and beautiful! Nice pool side service and great breakfast. Staff were nice and helpful in planning day trips to different beaches. Shuttle service is helpful and convenient. Can’t wait to return!
We stayed at Aethos Hotel for part of our honeymoon, and it was nothing short of perfect. The staff (Giovanni, Luca, Marta, Clarisa, Alessandra) went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and special, even arranging a complimentary room upgrade. The room was beautifully appointed, the amenities top-notch, and the breakfast was fresh, varied, and delicious. Every interaction with the team was warm and genuine, making us feel more like cherished guests than customers. We will always remember the kindness, attention to detail, and atmosphere of this hotel. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable and comfortable stay.
Everything about this hotel was a 10/10. We went there for our honeymoon and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for an extremely relaxing and restful vacation. The food is some of the best you will find in Sardinia, the beds are incredibly comfy, the staff is welcoming and kind, the views are stunning, and the amenities are top notch. It's such a wonderful place that you really don't even need to leave the hotel. We will definitely be back!
The hotel was amazing - the staff were very attentive and helpful throughout the stay. The pool and amenities were great and the hotel room was beautiful.
The view is hard to beat, and the room itself was clean—but everything else about this hotel fell far short of what you’d expect from a five-star property. Service was consistently underwhelming. Poolside waiters didn’t know the menu, couldn’t identify basic ingredients in the food (including the type of fish being served—which is unacceptable when allergies are involved), and seemed poorly trained overall. Housekeeping and turndown service were just as sloppy—towels left messy, toiletries clearly half-used from previous guests, and a general lack of attention to detail that made the stay feel more budget than luxury. The complimentary cocktail hour snack was also a letdown. Drinks were fine, but they were served with soggy, unappetizing sandwiches that felt more like leftovers than thoughtful pairings. This hotel has all the ingredients of a five-star experience—views, location, and design—but it’s rough around the edges and in need of serious service improvements. What’s worse, we raised concerns after our stay and never received any response. Disappointing across the board.
The views are incredible and the service was a 10. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff went above and beyond. They have Dyson hairdryers in every room. High quality hotel! Would definitely return
An amazing property with exceptional service - truly beyond a 5-star experience. The rooms are beautifully designed, spacious, and incredibly welcoming. The F&B offering really exceeded expectations: breakfast features handmade products, lunch is all about fresh, easy bites perfect to be enjoyed by the pool, and dinner is a delicious mix of Mediterranean flavors and traditional Sardinian dishes. The hotel’s event programming adds great energy to the stay, with BBQ nights, DJ sets, and live music creating a vibrant atmosphere. Both pools are fantastic, but the infinity pool deserves a special mention - it’s a true sanctuary of relaxation, where you can unwind in nature’s silence with a great drink in hand. The hotel also offers a private beach deck to enjoy the sun and take a swim. The gym is also impressive: super well-equipped with all the essentials. Honestly, it was the first time I actually enjoyed working out on vacation! Last but not least, the in-house boutique is full of little gems waiting to be discovered. Finally, the team is wonderful. From the General Manager to every staff member, there’s a genuine sense of care and attention. The Guest Experiences team goes above and beyond, creating special moments and unforgettable experiences for every guest. I would definitely recommend staying at Aethos Sardinia!
Hotel was lovely, staff exceptional, location great and overall experience was amazing.
The views are arguably the best in Costa Smeralda. The service is exceptional. The staff go above and beyond to satisfy any request. I proposed while in Sardinia and Alessandro was extremely helpful in setting me up with a local photographer and advising us on all the best locations for photos. The photographer he connected us with was 1st class as well. The rooms are fantastic. I love that they provide a Dyson hair dryer in every room - perfect example of the level of luxury down to every detail.
The hotel had a good location with good access to the beach, restaurants, and the greater costa smeralda. The hotel was recently renovated and was thoughtfully decorated and maintained as a luxury property. The staff were excellent and went above and beyond to accommodate us and make our stay memorable. We were visiting for our honeymoon and the hotel upgraded us to a nicer room, decorated, and provided late checkout for us.
This hotel was stunning — the aesthetic was a perfect blend of beachy Palm Springs, Sardinian charm, and modern design. It felt effortlessly cool, like a decorator’s dream with laid-back island energy. I honestly left wanting to redecorate my whole house to match the vibe here. Breakfast was included and totally delicious — fresh, plentiful, and I especially loved the bulletproof coffees (a very nice touch). The pool was a showstopper — an incredible infinity edge overlooking the sea and dotted with yachts in the distance. Just a 2-minute walk down the street and you’re lounging on a chaise at the dock, soaking up even more views. It was peaceful, stylish, and absolutely dreamy. At nights we would drive into Porto Cervo as there was more of a nightlife there. But you can easily walk into the little town for drinks and dinner. Highly recommend — I’d go back in a heartbeat.
The service was a little slow, which we have found while traveling in Italy. You ask for a drink at the pool or bar - and maybe you'll get it or maybe you won't! Wouldn't stop me from coming back. Already dreaming of next summer.
The hotel is small and personal, with nice views and a great infinity pool w free daybeds.
Rooms are way too small for the price. Its clearly not offering value for money. There is a Spa menu but no Spa. Only 1 restaurant with mediocre food. Most stafd do not understand english which leads to misunderstandings and frustrations.

Everybody is so nice and welcoming ! The view is beautiful, the food is great, and the rooms really comfortable. There was a serious re-brand that went on in this place, and we think it was very successful. We were also here for our honeymoon, and the staff made sure we enjoyed it to the fullest.
The location, the interior, pool area and breakfast
Showers in our suite were not working properly
The best staff! Beautiful view! Lovely restaurant. Great view from the infinity pool. Very happy with our stay.
First the good things. The staff here are all absolutely lovely - cheerful, chatty and eager to please. The location is very good. It is less than a mile from the centre of Cannigione and the walk into town along the coastal path was one of the most enjoyable parts of our holiday. The hotel, though, has many shortcomings. It is classified as five star and room prices are very high. However, the rooms are really small (we had a deluxe with sea view) and ill-equipped, e.g., no full length mirror, no English news channels on the TV and nowhere near enough surfaces or drawers to store things. Breakfast was OK but not memorable. We had dinner in the restaurant twice and again it was mediocre and very expensive. There was evening entertainment a couple of times during our stay but evenings were generally dull. There is no Spa - unheard of for a five star hotel, although they can arrange a massage in your room, assuming they could squeeze a table into it! One thing to note is that the rooms are scattered about the site and there are many steps up and down to get to them. In summary, if this hotel was reclassified as a four star and the rooms prices drastically reduced, it would be a good choice, but as it stands, it is very poor value for money compared with the many other five star hotels we have stayed in. The hotel’s website is a masterclass in style over substance!
Nestled into the side of a hillside, the views were spectacular. The restaurant and pools were wonderful. The hotel is big enough to offer all key amenities, but small enough to feel uniquely personal and private.
We’re not quite sure what demographic the hotel was aiming towards. It clearly wasn’t the experienced traveller. There appeared to be a recent change of management because the communication at the front of house and the residents was very poor and inefficient. One example would be when quoted on transport or an activity there always an extra surcharge to be incurred and only explained at the last minute. All dining experiences needed more considered action and refining. That said the waiting staff worked very hard and were very attentive. The wine list was good. Rooms clean but small and limited views which weren’t explained. Overall - a long way to go with very little to do and poor service.
Did not benefit from breakfast or room upgrade
From the moment we entered Aethos Sardinia we felt welcomed! Refreshing fresh juice and prosecco was offered in the beautiful lobby and then we were given a brief tour of the hotel and gorgeous grounds while our car was parked and bags were brought to the room. Our room was well appointed and very comfortable overlooking one of the 2 pools and an amazing view of the sea. We were celebrating our anniversary and there was a nice note, cake, champagne, etc waiting for us. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty and all of the staff was very helpful with recommending beaches or restaurants in the area. Cannigione was a cute town and good location for exploring Sardinia. Highly recommend...you will not be disappointed!
I loved the decor
The ac didn’t work. It was very spread out.
It was great, beautiful hotel
Amazing resort staff could not do enough for us a beautiful hotel and made our holiday one to remember
We LOVED Aethos Sardinia. It is such a great hotel. It offers stunning views of the bay, and the staff do everything to make your stay perfection. Service levels were amazing. There are two stunning pools. Breakfast was lovely and extensive. We had a sea view room. Waking up to the view every day was just incredible. Cannigione is a wonderful small town to visit with loads of restaurants. If you’re considering Sardinia you have just found the perfect hotel
The village style of the hotel was stunning, and the room was spacious with amazing sea view!
Nothing !
An Unforgettable Stay – Truly Exceptional in Every Way! Our recent stay at Aethos hotel in Sardegna was nothing short of perfect. The location itself is absolutely breathtaking — with rooms overlooking the sea, we woke up to the most serene and beautiful views every single day. It felt like a postcard come to life. The hotel staff were outstanding — warm, courteous, and incredibly responsive. Anything we needed was just a WhatsApp message away. Always smiling and genuinely eager to help, they made us feel completely at home throughout our stay. A very special mention to the Experience Team, who went above and beyond to make our visit truly memorable. I had arranged a private sunset yacht with a surprise dinner to celebrate my wife’s birthday — and they ensured every detail was flawlessly executed. It was magical. Heartfelt thanks to Filippo, Carlos, and the entire team for making it so special. Your care and attention made it an evening we’ll never forget. The food deserves just as much praise — from an incredible breakfast spread to delicious preparations at every meal, the culinary experience was simply top-tier. We absolutely loved the experience and hospitality, and wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Sardegna. It’s everything you could hope for in a luxury getaway — and more.
