It was clean and good location and mostly friendly staff except our first day check in woman was not friendly and didn’t want to be bothered. Morning staff and second day staff lady were very kind!

The fragrance of the hotel was not pleasant to people that are sensitive to strong smells.

Very well run hotel, modern with well thought out, pro guest arrangements.

The road in front is continually busy, but if you're not used to such noise and busy activity it can be off-putting.

Schönes Hotel - es gibt eine Tiefgarage ein paar Meter daneben. Frühstück war super, nette Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter. Lage ist hervorragend.

Unser Zimmer war ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen.

Staff were nice. Stayed in a lot of hotels around the world and breakfast presentation was fabulous.

Fabulous welcome, wonderful staff, stylish decor, clean and comfortable room, excellent breakfast. Our young kids were even given free cuddly toys at breakfast time which made their day. Thank you to all the staff who were fabtastic.

Hotel parking was expensive and a few hundred metres from the hotel. The public parking options are also a few hundred metres away.

Im Bad müssten die Heizung, Föhn und die Wände mal gereinigt werden, etwas staubig/fleckig.

Emplacement idéal pour des vacances en famille, à proximité des berges, de la zone piétonne, de nombreux magasins et commerces. Le marché est à proximité immédiate également. Les dames de l'accueil étaient adorables, femmes de chambre agréables.

Posizione perfetta, vicinissima all'imbarcadero e alla piazza centrale con i locali Camere molto confortevoli con arredamento molto funzionale e armadi spaziosi. Per la giornata di pioggia che ho incontrato, ho apprezzato la disponibilità degli ombrelli di cortesia.

Great location and staff were helpful in giving us local taxi numbers to help us get there from train station. Rooms was spacious and appreciated large fridge and free water. Kept clean and lovely welcome drink on arrival.

Older property so there are stairs to get to room. No issue for us but could be issue for those with mobility issues. Bathroom has a very small shower which may not be large enough or suitable for some parties.

Absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Ancora! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the moment we arrived, the staff were absolutely amazing — incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful. It was also great that they speak several languages, including English, which made everything very easy and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable, and we had a beautiful view from our window overlooking the lake. Waking up to that view was definitely one of the highlights of our stay! 🌅 Breakfast was delicious, with a very nice selection and everything tasting fresh and enjoyable. And one little detail really made our stay even more special — the hotel kindly gifted a toy to our child. 🎁 It was such a thoughtful and lovely gesture, and something we truly appreciated. Overall, a fantastic experience with wonderful people, comfortable rooms, beautiful views and excellent hospitality. We would happily stay at Hotel Ancora again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area! ❤️

Das ganze Personal war sehr freundlich, die Zimmer sehr gut ausgestattet, das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet, ebenfalls auch die Lage, mitten im Zentrum. Das Hotel werde ich mit gutem Gewissen weiterempfehlen.

Personnel d’une extrême gentillesse et à l’écoute. Nous avons dû écourter notre séjour pour des raisons personnelles et l’hôtel nous a remboursé via Booking les 2 nuits non consommées. Rien ne les obligeait à le faire étant donné que les réservations étaient non remboursables. Ce geste commercial est à souligner et le chef de l’établissement est venu s’excuser que nous n’ayons pas apprécié l’hôtel ! C’est très rare de tomber sur des personnes aussi à l’écoute de leurs hôtes. Je remercie sincèrement le personnel de cet établissement qui s’est tout de suite montré à l’écoute et la recherche de solutions.

L'accueil et la gentillesse du personnel, le petit déjeuner fabuleux. Les petits encas à disposition toute la journée. Tout est pensé pour le confort!

Nous avions un petit appartement bien équipé et confortable. Le petit déjeuner est complet et bon (le personnel est très attentif aux enfants c'est très agréable)

This location is perfect! Across from the ferry and walkable to everything you need.

I wish the elevator was bigger but that’s not really an issue unless you’re moving luggage around.

The hotel is in a excellent location on the lake and near the port of Intra. There are many bars and restaurants nearby, as is the Tigros supermarket. The breakfast was fabulous; the cooked selection always interesting (the best bit I thought), cold meats and cheese, pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice, even fresh honeycombe for your yoghurt. We also loved the little touches - free canapes and help-yourself-prossecco in the evening, free tickets to the local gardens (a must visit), all the toileteries you can think of, little gifts of bottle openers and glasses cleaning cloths. Lovely louches. Oh and the beds were really comfortable with efficient air con (much needed in mid August).

Our room was small; it was cheap so I'm not complaining, but we were short on hanging space. It would be remiss of me not to mention that the main road passes the front door and it is busy. It didn't trouble us - we sat outside the Jasmine bar next door several times, but there is constant hub-bub from traffic and people.

The location is amazing.

I was locked outside my room for nearly one hour because one of the key was inside the room for the lights and the other one with me and it won’t let me in. A nice guy helped me during the night but it was very long..

1a Lage direkt am See. Das Zimmer ausreichend groß mit Balkon und Klimaanlage ausgestattet, ohne die es aber auch nicht bewohnbar wäre. Sehr freundliches Personal und außergewöhnliches Frühstück.

Sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffet, tagsüber kann man sich in der Lounge gratis Kaffe, Wasser und Prosecco nehmen. Oliven und kleine Snacks sind ebenfalls vorhanden. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich

Das Hotel ist sehr Zentral zur Stadt gelegen. Man kann alles gut zu Fuß erreichen. Die Zimmer sind modern und komplett ausgestattet. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut.

Dadurch, daß die Hauptverkehrsstraße direkt vor dem Hotel vorbeiführt, ist es bei geöffnetem Fenster sehr laut.

Das Frühstück ist sehr vielfältig und lecker. Wir waren bereits einmal in diesem Hotel. Das Frühstück, die Lage und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis waren die Gründe, warum wir auf dem Heimweg erneut hier übernachtet haben.

Location is great. Staff are very professional and friendly. Rooms are very comfortable. We were lucky to have a balcony and a view of the lake which was lovely.

As a retired, IT exec (very happily retired) I'd say watching and listening to the reception staff, that the system on reception needs an upgrade 😅🤣😂

Die Lage des Hotels ist wirklich super, direkt am Hafen und an der Fußgängerzone. Der Empfang war sympathisch und es gab eine umfangreiche Erklärung mit vorbereiteten Bildkarten, wo die nächsten Parkplätze und eine nahegelegene Tiefgarage sind. Zum Empfang konnte man sich einen Sekt nehmen, war alles vorbereitet. Das Frühstück war sehr umfangreich und lecker, die Atmosphäre des Hotels angenehm. Es fehlte an nichts.

Zimmer und Bad waren sehr klein. Das Zimmer lag auf der Rückseite, dadurch war es recht dunkel.

I didn't experience breakfast or dining as I used it as a base to meet a friend. Overall, the hotel ticked the box for what I needed and I will definitely book again - and bring family too!

Nous avons particulièrement apprécié l'emplacement de l'hôtel très central et l''accueil de l'équipe. Notre chambre était petite mais bien équipée et surtout au calme. Large choix au buffet du petit-déjeuner

S'il faut t rouver une critique ce serait la chambre triple de nos amis sous les toits au 5ème avec l'ascenseur qui ne dessert que jusqu'au 4ème étage.

Tout était impeccable, propreté de la chambre, confort de la literie. Le petit déjeuner était excellent avec des produits frais et de qualité. L'hôtel se trouvait juste en face de l'embarcadaire pour la visite des iles, parfait !

Great location. So easy to get to the ferries and all the different restaurants and bars in Intra. The breakfast was able with plenty of choices. All the staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. The room and other areas were clean and tidy. There was a nice welcome area set up where you could have a coffee or a Prosecco and snacks during the day

Good location overlooking Lake Maggiore and near to catching the boat to the three islands. The room was comfortable and clean. Excellent breakfast. Plenty of choice and well presented. Fairly clean and managed to park nearby,bed was comfortable.

Our room was like a converted garage; white washed brick wall; hardly room to get either side of the bed & very limited space in the rest of the room. Not an inviting or comfortable space at all. The website photo of the room is misleading. Breakfast was bog standard & the coffee was always lukewarm. Some staff were helpful; others not so much.
