Het bed .maar verder was alles schoon en goed geregeld. Een tegenvaller was ook dat alle straten bij het hotel waren opengebroken maar daar kon het hotel ook niks aan doen..en met een rolstoel moet je daar absoluut niet naartoe..

Beds where quite thin and I guess a but outdated. Was here for 1 night and slept okay, but I guess the time is coming for some changes here

Reviewed Sep 9, 2026Nous avons été très bien accueillis par le réceptionniste qui nous a aussi conseillé des choses à faire à Göteborg et aux alentours (ainsi que comment s'y rendre). La chambre était confortable et le petit déjeuner somptueux. L'hôtel est situé très proche de la gare centrale. Les boissons chaudes disponibles toute la journée sont aussi un vrai plus !

Bathroom has decent shelf-like space for toiletries. They have a strange way of making the bed compared to how we Americans do it. (See photo)

As the oldest place to stay in Gothenburg, it has a wonderful family-run atmosphere and a character that is increasingly rare to find today. For younger travellers who may not have experienced this kind of old-fashioned hospitality, it is a great opportunity to discover what hospitality used to be all about. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent, generous and plentiful.

Reviewed Sep 2, 2026Es handelt sich um ein älteres aber sehr gepflegtes Haus. Dies sieht man, dass hier viel in den Unterhalt des Gebäudes investiert wird. Die Lage ist äusserst Zentral, eigentlich sind alle wichtigen Orte in Göteborg von hier ab entweder per Fuss oder mit der Tram in kurzer Zeit zu erreichen. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut, es gibt sowohl bei Fleisch und Wurst, Fisch oder auch vegetarischen und veganen Alternativen sowie für spezielle Ernährung wie z.B. glutenfreie Ernährung genügend Auswahl. Das Hotel bietet Nachmittags auch Kaffee, Wasser, Tee und Kuchen an, dieser kann bei guter Witterung im angenehm ruhigen Innenhof oder im inneren des Gebäudes genossen werden. Das Personal war wirklich sehr freundlich, wir kamen dort auch in angenehme Gespräche und konnten so noch etwas mehr über die Stadt, über das Land wie auch anstehende Veranstaltungen sowie ein paar Besonderheiten erfahren.

It was nice to see the hotel proud of their own identity as the oldest hotel in the city. For the most part, it was lovely to see that character. The room was quite nice. The airconditioning gets an absolute 10/10 from me.
I would prefer if they upgraded from physical room keys to keycards, as the physical keys are just awkward. Also, the single room could use a bit more space to store luggage.

Reviewed Aug 31, 2026We loved the historic atmosphere and architecture. It’s a lovely independent, characterful hotel. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, as well as very efficient. The location is excellent and the breakfast pretty good. The 24 hr fika in the lobby is a nice touch.
Nothing really. The hotel doesn’t have a bar so we haven’t given full marks to ‘facilities’. But we knew that when we booked and it’s not a problem.

Reviewed Aug 26, 2026Ein kleines, persönlich geführtes Hotel in zentraler Lage mit geschmackvoller Einrichtung. Unser Zimmer war klein, aber ausreichend, im Badezimmer gab es ausreichend Abstellfläche. Das Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Bei den Zimmern zur Strasse war früh morgens die Müllabfuhr deutlich zu hören. Das dauerte allerdings nicht lange. Ansonsten waren wir sehr zufrieden.

Reviewed Aug 26, 2026La amabilidad de la persona que nos atendió en recepción y la que nos ayudó a aparcar la moto dentro del patio interior del hotel. Agradecer el detalle de aparcar allí sin coste. El hotel es de 1852, muy bien mantenido y muy limpio. Solicitamos una habitación tranquila y estuvimos descansando muy bien. La cama es muy cómoda y las sábanas y toallas muy limpias. El desayuno es variado, con gofres recién hechos. La ubicación es céntrica, un paseo agradable hasta las vistas panorámicas de la ciudad. Los bollos que preparan y están a discreción del cliente al lado de recepción están buenísimos. La wifi va muy bien.
