The staff was very friendly and helpful, I really appreciate their kindness
Great value for the price. I stayed in a 3-bed room with a fan that helped keep it from getting too hot. The rooftop area was a wonderful place to go and rest during the hottest parts of the day. It has lots of shaded tables and couches, along with some large electric fans.
The toilet and the shower were in the same room, which made it a bit awkward to shower. The street directly outside the hostel was pretty noisy all through the night which made it slightly difficult to fall asleep, but other than that, I have no complaints!
Good location and helpful hosts, breakfast and rooftop was very nice. It was easy to socialize with other travelers
Rooms are very outdated, especially bathrooms.
um den Preis sogar noch ein Frühstück!!! Total nettes und sehr hilfsbereites Personal!!!
Owner very thoughful and friendly
Don't have elevator
It’s cheap and basic and a bit dated but perfect for the price you’re paying. The breakfast is the best I’ve had in Egypt and a change from the usual falafel and bread. There’s baked eggplant and potatoes and more - really good! The staff are also lovely and are good to recommend things and organise tours and hot air balloon Rides. The rooftop is really good and provides a good opportunity to socialise.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I booked a guided tour where I could see many temples in a day, a shared car to Dendera temple and also a balloon trip, and washing my clothes all for a very reasonable price. The included breakfast there was very tasty as well
You usually have to ask 2-3 times to get things done. I had to wait for my room to be ready, to get a towel and to wash my clothes. But it's okay, I count in african time in africa
Amazing A wonderful place to stay in Luxor.
None
nothing, maybe the tiny omelette as breakfast
the rat in the room, the ball of hair in the bathroom, the shower full of hair and clogged with god knows what, and the towels.. one with blood stains and another with suspicious brown stains xD..
The staff was really nice and helpful! Overall the hostel is good.
The tour that was sold through them was not that great. They brought us to some 'traditional stone factory‘ where people pretended to work, just for us to buy from the shop. And they also brought us to an overpriced touristic restaurant to have lunch at (the whole group refused luckily).
Good location. Breakfast was basic but delicious. Personal very friendly and helpful
Property itself very good, but we booked 3h sunset felucca trip and there was no wind. Felucca ship needs a wind to move. So a bit disappointed. Next time, manager could warn guests when he books them a felucca trip that there should be a wind
You'll meet many people. The common area in the rooftop is great, at any time of the day. The room is clean. The hosts are always available to help. Good breakfast
Toilet and shower are always a problem in Egypt, but were clean, fair enought
Mahmoud the owner is really friendly; actually at night I was with out food and he ask for one of the employees to make me a omelette. I recomend to go, safe and good location! There is travellers there so you can have good talks to.
I recommend staying at the Happy Land Luxor due to its central location, great breakfast, picturesque terrace and nice staff. Good value for money! I also would recommend you to find an hour or two to have an interesting chat about geopolitics and Egypt with Mahmoud, the owner of the property. Best regards from Kasia. :-)
All good.
Honestly just a place to sleep in. The bathroom didn't even have a bar of soap. All it had was two toilet papaer rolls, no shampoo, no shower gel. They never checked if the room needed anything. They were friendly, but you had to ask for everything you needed. They had a good collection of books on the roof. The food was not by best experience.
It is basic but ok
We had a ceiling fan, but some real air con could have been better
Happy Land Luxor is located close to the Luxor temple and also near local shopping street. Just in the middle of tourist attractions and local markets (good supermarket with fixed prices is really close). Train station is also in walking distance. The boss Mahmoud can help you with anything. Thanks to him I was able to do the trip to Dandara (70$) and Valley of the kings. The hearth of the hotel stays in the kitchen! Kind and talented chef prepared us delicious local breakfast and amazing Ramadan dinners after sunset. Both best I tried in Egypt even compared with hotel resort. Thank you again for that :) Happy land and his amazing staff made my stay in Luxor really special!!!
1) Noise from the street during the night was little bit over my standards (but maybe it was because everyone was celebrating Ramadan at night) 2) Valley of the kings tour with "Aladin". The guide had some cheesy jokes about his photos with Leonardo di Caprio and Naomi Campbell (unfortunately only at home, so nobody can see it :). The worst of all was limited amount of time. The tour cost 10$, but we could stay in the Valley of the kings only 1 hour (approx. 10-20 min per tomb), even if it was last stop of the day (it consists also Medinet Habu and Hatshepsut Temple) it wasn’t possible to stay longer and visit more tombs.
Decent and value for money hostel. Breakfast was good. The hospitality of the staff was really good. Let me check in early without any issues. Invited us for Ramzan fast breaking. Overall it was a really good stay.
The toilet is too congested along with the shower room. Hardly any space to take a bath.
Everything was awesome from host to staff felt homely will really suggest the hotel for future travellers must stay guys u won’t regret a bit … travellers round d globe were visitors and the host make sure to take care of every bit the visitors want u say they do loved it……. My best stay in whole Egypt trip
Nothing
I like everything they have and every service they have provided.Everything was beyond expectations. And also their other services like hot air balloon ride and other things was really good.ill definitely come back again and highly recommend. And one more thing their breakfast was amazing.
The toilet doesn't have a hand shower
Spring, 2025. Great place. Owner, Mohmoud will go out of his way to arrange or help with anything. Do not hasitate to ask for help. Highly recommended. Thank you, Marko.
Chef Miro, very friendly host and very good cooker. Thank you, for the time here!!
Only breakfast was okay okay
room was not properly allocated, shown different rooms, and gave another, no hygiene, and doesn't bother to make it tidy they know customers will come and manage, so they let it as it is.
Bad staff
They didn't give me my room and i stayed all day at the street
very good staff
No complaints

First of all, animal abuse. The hostel has a puppy and a staff member was pulling him by the tail from under a chair and kicking him. My bed fell apart. Had to sleep with my friend in the other single bed. Reception's response: we will take a look. Nobody took a look or did anything. The place is filthy. Wifi non existent. I am expecting a comment saying that I am a spoiled tourist, but if you market yourself as a hostel, I expect at least a bed I can sleep in ;)
We stayed a couple of nights at this place and would definitely come back. Staff was super friendly and helpful with us when booking tours, the (free) breakfast provided was egyptian rather than just sandwiches, and really good value for money. Reception was open 24 hrs and sold water at reasonable prices. There was a good backpacker vibe overall.
Amazing breakfast buffet and very nice roof terrace. Super friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms.
Bathrooms for the dormitory are quite small, like in many older hotels. Electricity next to the bed would be cool. No dealbreaker, though. The positives clearly outweigh this.
It is a pleasant plase
The room where we have breakfast a little small
So central, very cheap tours
Nothing
The location was good, and the accommodation was suitable for a few nights.
The bathrooms were really small and awkward, with the shower head directly above the toilet. While it was usable, it might be a deal breaker for some travellers.
Very good and plenty
Ahmed the receptionist is very nice. Nice terrace and breakfast
The door is distorted, it only moves with big noise. My room faced the classrooms of a school - it was even by Egyptian standards very noisy.
The older guy at reception very helpful, caring and friendly.
Family environment, good prices, good homemade food at restaurant. Very beautiful terrase on the roof and good access to the centre.
Our room was right next to the common bathroom and all the night people were coming, unrespectfuly crashing doors and leaving the lights turned on, so the whole room was in light. Impossible to sleep there. When we come after 9 to the breakfast, there wasn't much to eat, even if the breakfast time was 8-10.
The reception person was very helpful and communicated very well with me for airport pick up and other matters. Overall I'm happy with the property
The staff was super kind, helpful, not trying to rip you off. All the good things :)
They can improve in the noise during the night. Ask other guess to keep it down after midnight. There was people using a hairdryer next to me at 2:30am
room was nice and clean, bathroom clean, comfortable beds, quiet, the rooftop restaurant is so nice and I had the best breakfast there, was the best I had in Egypt. The owner was incredibly nice and friendly and so were the staff and offered to organize any tours and helped me book bus tickets. the decorations in the hallways are very nice and was a great place to meet other travellers
toilet had issues with flushing
The breakfast was the best I had in Egypt. Staff were nice, helpful and accommodating. There was no pressure to book tours, very nice decor and beautiful rooftop space.
One of the toilets was not working well and would not flush.
The owner is very king and attentive. A real gentleman.
The rooms are old but very good and clean
Close to eating places
Location was literally in a very run down street more like a slum
I enjoyed so much during my stay ! Everyday morning having delicious breakfast at rooftop, there staff helpful . attentive to guests . The Horner who was a humorous and attractive man , we had pleasant conversation sometimes , laughing, joke , happy , fun was going on around, I feel grateful for everything that they did for me , thank you so much ! What a wondering experiences there ! And the dinner was so tasty and cheap , 200 Egyptian pounds , all good of it so I extended several days to stay !😀😀🫢🫢, I can’t wait to come back again !
Nothing , everything was perfect !
Very Clean. Excellent and plentiful breakfast. Comfortable bed. I normally sleep on a board at home to avoid back ache. This was a 4" matress and was superbly comfortable. I had no back issues at all. Ensuite bathroom. Safe - 24-hour access with someone always by the main door. Superb value. Helpful staff. My own fridge in the room. The location was excellent for me - my friends stayed at the Nile Palace, and I wanted to be close by without having to stay (pay) there. Handy nearby mini supermarket and local shops and cafes. Also near Television St. You are situated in a residential area rather than a touristy area. It could be a bit noisy from the street sometimes, but I never lost sleep and liked being in an authentic Egyptian area instead of a more secluded hotel. Inside the hotel itself was quiet. Roof Garden is comfortably laid out. I understand that I could have had tours, etc, organised for me from the hotel, but I never used that facility as I was really already going along with my own group. I stayed here 2 weeks continuously and was comfortable and really enjoyed myself. Some mornings. I would just sit in my room and rest and read. The room was a bit austere to me at first but I quickly got used to that and soon loved my room. There's no drawers or cupboards so I lived from the suitcase. Luxor generally is very clean and completely safe. The hotel is also pretty spotless.. There is a kettle upstairs that you can use to make a hot drink, but next time I might bring my own travel kettle for tea / coffee. And I kept a torch by my bed, as there's no bedside light, which came in handy. Otherwise, I didn't miss anything. There's WiFi which is not too bad. When combined with my own mobile data (I got a temporary SIM from Vodafone Egypt with 20gb for about $20) I could get pretty solid Internet that didnt impact my data allowance by a lot (I had lots of allowance left after 2 weeks and I played a fair bit of YouTube).
It seems to be in a sketchy alley, but location ended up to be perfect, close enough to city center and away from hustle. Really safe and easy to get by Taxi or even walking (15 min) from main sightseeing or transportation hubs.
My room was in base floor, so kinda noisy at times where it shouldn't be (around midnight).
Terrace is the highlight ! Its a nice set up. Breakfast is great ! I stayed just for one night, in the cheapest dorm. Good for overnight stayovers, just above camping grade.
Too small bathrooms.
Everything. Met great people. Great tour services and lovely people. Best part of my Egypt trip.
Nothing.
the location is quite good, the people at reception desk are really helpful
1. the room is not so clean. 2. it is too noisy at night, i could not really sleep well
The property's location and the tour packages offered provide great value, enhancing the overall experience. The staffs were notably courteous, contributing to a welcoming and pleasant stay.
Accommodation's cleanliness standards require attention, and the washroom facilities could be enhanced to provide a more comfortable and satisfactory experience for guests.
I absolutely loved the rooftop café! The vibe was incredible, and the breakfast there was amazing—both the food and the atmosphere were spot on. The owner Mahmoud what an amazing person.
What I didn’t like about the property was the extremely small and cramped toilet—it’s so tiny that there’s barely any room to move around.
The lounging area was spacious. The staff was helpful and friendly.
The bed was too hard
Great beads and nice common area. The rooftoop is clean and nice. Amazing breakfast too.
Wi-Fi is horrible. It does not work at all. The room only had two power outlets on a very uncomfortable position for all the guests. Extremely noisy until very late. Very small bathrooms.
Amazing people, amazing rooftop, good prices.
That I could not stay longer.
This is the best budget accommodation in Luxor. The hostel is located on the east bank of the Nile, close to temples, restaurants, shops, riverfront, train station and Gobus station. The accommodation is very basic but affordable. I had a private room with reliable internet and a bathroom at a great price. The hostel even has a rooftop terrace with a restaurant. I met some interesting people during my stay, but the highlight was the owners. They go above and beyond to ensure their guests have a great experience. They can organize anything related to your travels in Egypt, including tours, always at very reasonable prices. They truly make an effort to treat each guest individually. I used their driver for a trip to a temple and tour to the West bank. The value of this tour is excellent, as the tours include transportation to the monuments and a guide. If you’re an easygoing traveler who doesn’t need luxury, I highly recommend this hostel. Thank you for making my time in Luxor so enjoyable!
I had to leave back to Cairo.
Very friendly place and near by city center and go bus station
Personal amable y desayuno delicioso
Breakfast and rooftop were great
They gave my bed to another guy also, who finally needed to go to another place (fortunately i was the first to be given the bed).
I likes the location in a vibrant but not too turistic area, 10 minutes from station and Luxor temple. The terrace upstairs is nice. The owners can help you arrange tours, just make sure the price is clear ahead.
The toilet/shower is very very small. Breakfast ok but if you come too late (close to 10am) you may find nothing left.
Living in a hostel gives you some sense of security in Luxor
The toilet is too small. The air conditioner is broken and the fan is noisy.
Meet the owner he is a great guy. He will make sure you are in home not in hostel. Plus the team are amazing …
Happy Land Luxor is a fantastic choice for travelers. It’s in a great location and perfect for meeting fellow adventurers. The staff are all wonderful, and the breakfast is a nice bonus. I stayed in a private room. Highly recommend!
Like : Location, cleanliness, Owner Mr. Meha mud a great guy very helpful and accommodative. Helped in doing the booking for all local tour including the balloon ride. Their lady cook makes a great dinner preparation charging 200 LE Overall a good option for backpackers.
Good place to stay in, Helpful staff, they are friendly . delicious food made with love with mero's hands u can ask for any kind of food from her or you can cook yours you can buy any thing from around the place and feel like home.
Super nice staff there! The breakfast they provide is also good.
The boss is very kind, talented, frindly and helpful for customers. The house is cheaper and comfortable.
Bathroom is small
The guys that own the place provide a great social experience! True hardworking and honest staff. I would specially recommend for solo travelers and if you can take the daily tour with Adly, funniest guide in all Egypt!
The hostel is an excellent value-for-money place in Luxor. First of all, both the owners and the rest of the stuff are super kind and helpful; they take the time to explain everything about Luxor and they offer activities (among them guided tours to the Valley of the Kings and hot air balloon rides) at unbeatable prices. The place is very clean and it has an amazing chill rooftop. The breakfast buffet is also great and they can even adjust it to your preferences where possible. Only downsize is the small size of the rooms and the common bathrooms. Overall a great place to stay, I highly recommend.
