Special thanks to Fairooz for keeping our villa perfectly clean and refreshed every day, and to Okta from reception for helping us with everything we needed. They truly made our honeymoon unforgettable.

L'île est magnifique : un bouquet de palmiers au milieu de l'océan, sans addition de dizaines de villas sur l'eau comme c'est le cas dans la plupart des resorts désormais. Les fonds marins sont redevenus très beaux (ils avaient souffert en raison d'El Nino) . On peut voir de nombreux poissons dès que l'on arrive sur le reef. Le marine lab sur place s'emploie à protéger et régénérer les coraux. Pour le snorkeling, on peut également se rendre sur Ihuru (l'ile voisine accessible par une navette) où le reef est encore plus facile d'accès (et peut-être un peu plus beau). Les chambres sont (relativement) simples et meublées avec goût, dotées de tout le confort nécessaire. La literie est confortable et le linge de lit tout doux, tout soyeux. Le ménage est fait consciencieusement deux fois par jour. L'espace piscine-jacuzzi privé situé à l'arrière du bungalow est très sympa, même si nous n'utilisons pas (ou peu) la piscine. La vue depuis notre chambre (Beachfront sunset view) était fabuleuse : nous adorons la vue sur Ihuru (petite île à la nature préservée) et les couchers de soleil sont incroyables. Les chambres Beachfront sont un peu plus dans le vent et donc il y fait moins chaud sur la plage. Le restaurant japonais et son bar bénéficient d'un emplacement spectaculaire et d'une construction remarquable (en forme de raie manta). C'est vraiment très sympa de prendre un verre au coucher du soleil et de dîner dans cet endroit à l'ambiance chic-décontracté. Tout le personnel est adorable et ultra-professionnel et fait de cet hôtel un endroit chaleureux où l'on a envie de revenir. C'était notre 11e séjour à Vabbinfaru et chaque fois nous constatons combien tout est très bien entretenu avec des améliorations deci delà.

La restauration est vraiment excellente (que ce soit au Thaï, au Japonais ou lors des buffets) mais manque un peu de variété pour des palais européens lorsque l"on reste plus d'1 semaine (la carte étant figée, on prend ce que l'on préfère et on finit par manger toujours la même chose). Le repas du midi devrait être un peu plus informel dans un style buffet léger.

This hotel is truly special thanks to its unique barefoot island concept, which creates a deep sense of freedom. I would like to especially highlight a few team members who made our stay truly memorable. Gulzar was always in touch and helped us with all questions quickly and clearly. Her responsiveness and professionalism made everything smooth and easy. Dr. Sharma had a truly profound impact on my well-being. I had been experiencing sleep issues, and thanks to him I started breathing deeply again, fully and freely — something I hadn’t felt in a long time. He combines acupuncture, sound healing, yoga, meditation, and point massage, and is a true professional who deeply understands what he does. Prosanta always prepared wonderful breakfasts. His Eggs Benedict and omelets were especially delicious and made every morning a pleasure. He is also a very kind and attentive person. Fipit made delicious coffee for me every morning. She is very attentive, caring, and a true professional who clearly loves her work. Muthu, the bartender, is extremely friendly and always brings positive energy. He is great at lifting the mood and is always ready to help with any questions or requests. Thank you for such a warm, caring, and memorable experience.

All Inclusive package confusing with many restrictions and poor selection of wines and spirits included. Villas a little dated.

The staff was incredibly kind and helpful with every need we had. The island ia very close to Male (20-25 min by speedboat) and it has a very nice house reef. The food was very good and varied and the massages at the spa were excellent.

The bathroom is next to the pool with no door between them and the door between the room and the bathroom can be locked only from the room side which is quite strange…

Отличный маленький остров, чтобы переключиться от шумного города. За весь период ни разу не ходили в обуви: настоящий bare foot остров. Приветливый и заботливый персонал, который старается сделать ваш отдых максимально комфортным. Есть трансфер на соседний остров каждые два часа: там по рассказам, очень красивый риф.

Не минус, а как предостережение: - обратите внимание на еду: завтрак в формате буфета, обед и ужин в ресторанах а-ля карт; - на территории острова два ресторана: тайский и японский, выбор есть, но может сильно приестся, учитывая, что на острове вы, минимум, неделю; - во "все включено" входит бОльшая часть меню, а вот на полу-пансионе или трехразовом вам придется зачастую доплачивать за блюда из меню в ресторанах; - алкоголь во "все включено" не сильно разнообразный, но, в целом, даже есть более-менее нормальные вина; - пляж и песок местами очень хорошие, но вход в воду по всему периметру острова через коралловую крошку, что доставляет дискомфорт. Дно такое же: много осколков кораллов. Мы несколько раз порезались. Из минусов: - идет стройка. Пару раз было очень шумно, даже после 21:00, в какой-то день был сильный запах краски, но за пару часов все "выветрилось"

标准的珊瑚环礁岛，岛不大但住的很舒服。首先员工非常友善热情，可以看到当地人的乐观开朗。我们去的时候赶上国家独立日，酒店举办了鸡尾酒会、国家独立历史讲演、鸡尾酒会、民俗文化展示、篝火晚会和运动会，运动会持续了三天，第一天酒店的客人们也可以参与，都是一些趣味游戏，气氛非常好。第二三天是员工运动会，有海钓比赛、铁人三项、拔河等，也非常有趣。我们感受到了员工积极参与的热情，也被他们的快乐感染。值得注意的是，虽然这几天有很多员工参与运动会，但酒店日常服务都按部就班有序进行，可见酒店的运作非常高效可靠。我的每项要求都能得到快速的响应，让人安心舒适地享受假期。岛上有很多项目可以选择，还有免费的瑜伽课程。我们体验了夜钓、落日巡航、浮潜看海龟、出海浮潜、马累半日游、精油制作等，有些是需要付费的，不怕花钱的话可以把日程安排得很丰富。当然也有免费的浮潜课程和一些免费的项目。总之如果是喜欢海洋、看鱼浮潜、静静发呆享受假期的话，会过得很舒服。因为岛上只有四十几件客房，所以相对比较安静，人员密度也不大。spa也非常舒适，按摩的手法力度特别棒。饮食方面一家泰餐馆和一家日餐馆，选择不多，可以看出酒店为了给大家提供更多选择，每周有三天是各种主题花园自助。中国胃可能吃多几天会觉得没什么意思了，但是我们度过九晚假期后还是胖了两三斤。值得一提的是海钓的鱼，非常鲜美。特别是自己钓上来的，当晚烹饪，非常有成就感。酒店员工服务非常到位，专业且热情，没事跟他们聊天还能增长一些海洋知识，非常有趣。总之是一次很美好的假期，刚开始我们还担心酒店比较老，怕感觉不好，但假期结束我们不仅感受到了美景，也感受到了悦榕庄的人文氛围，带给我们温暖快乐。

酒店的礼品店，在售卖精美礼品的同时，再有一些应急的日用品就更好了，比如指甲刀、棉签、卸妆油之类的，这些都是日常需要的。另外如果再有一些精美的小画册（不需要特别昂贵的那种大图册）关于当地鱼类等海洋生物的，应该会很畅销。岛上游客很多都带了孩子，孩子浮潜看到了漂亮的鱼，也希望对这片美丽的大海有更多了解。带回去送给朋友也是一份不错的纪念。

The island was exceptional as was the service and amenities. Everything worked smoothly and we enjoyed it thoroughly.

Staff make you feel at home and it is stunningly beautiful.

The resort has a great house reef (thanks to not having built over-water villas on it) where, just snorkeling, we saw a turtle, an eagle ray, a sting ray, and multiple reef sharks.

This resort is amazing. We stayed for one week with our baby in one of the wellness villas. Before our trip we were nervous that the expirience might not be as good as in the pictures but once we arrived it was even better than we imagnied. Every single staff member is super friendly, very professional and always there to assist. The whole island is very clean and well taken care off. The 3 (4) restaurants offer a good variety of food options for reasonable prices. The ocean is amazing and the reef for snorkling is just minutes away where we were able to see turtles, sharks and a crazy amount of fish. There are many smaller activities available on the island and some of them were free of charge for us because of our wellness villa. We want to say a special thanks to Ali from housekeeping and to Sejal and Fipit from hospitality staff who took extra care of us during our stay. We highly recommend this resort and hopefully one day we will able to come back. Thanks to everyone who made our stay so special!

If there is anything to critisize at all it would be the portion size in the Japanese restaurant. The food is super tasty but if you are very hungry in the evening after a day full of snorkling the portions could be a little bit bigger.

Everything, the villa, staff, food all amazing

The island is very peaceful and not overcrowded at all. I highly recommend Marine Lab and Henry's exceptional presentation about marine life and conservation. There are lots of opportunities for snorkelling, diving and other water sports. The staff were super kind and helpful. We would like to make a special thank you for the staff to make our holiday perfect, especially, Okta, Henry, Hassan etc.

I have to say, our holiday was perfect, but if I have to say one comment, it would be the food selection. On the island, there are two restaurants, a Japanese and a Thai and a buffet bar 3 times a week. The buffet dinners were excellent, huge selection and very delicious. The only downside is the selection of the food, regardless if you are on half board/full board or all-inclusive, you have to pay the extra fee after certain meals, not all foods are included, and for that reason, the selection of the food was very limited.

Location and the Staff

This was our 5th stay at Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru and it was nothing short of exceptional. Everything was flawless and the improvements made over the past three months are clearly evident — from the elevated quality of the food to the seamless operation of the new dining venues, every detail has been thoughtfully refined. Kudos to David and his team! What truly sets this island apart, beyond its barefoot luxury and authentic Maldivian atmosphere, is its people. The team embodies a rare combination of warmth, professionalism and genuine joy in what they do. Their positive attitude is infectious, and it’s a joy to witness such a motivated group working together like a clockwork. A heartfelt thank you goes to Lynn, Fipit, Sejal, Nafiz, Ayman, Nazeer and Zihan from Saffron, as well as Roy and Alisa from Madi Hiyaa — and of course, all the lovely ladies from the Spa, who made every moment feel like pure indulgence. Furthermore, Liu deserves a special mention as well as she made us feel welcomed and cared for from the very first moment we stepped onto the island. Management should be incredibly proud to lead such a capable and devoted team — their passion and commitment are the essence of what makes this island so special. In summary: we can’t wait to return!

Great service and lovely rooms

This island is pure magic—white sand, crystal-clear waters, and lush vegetation, all complemented by the perfect blend of comfort and natural beauty. Our room was not only spacious and comfortable but also integrated into the island’s charm, with an open-air bathroom and an outdoor shower. The location is ideal, especially for those with early flights, as it’s conveniently close to Malé. You can make the most of your stay right up until the last moment. A standout feature is the new bar—an incredible spot to unwind with a drink while watching breathtaking sunsets. The marine lab is another highlight, offering engaging activities like reef cleaning, which gives guests a deeper understanding of the environmental challenges facing the Maldives and a chance to contribute. For snorkeling, the reef at the sister island, Ihuru, is spectacular. We encountered sharks, rays, turtles, and a dazzling variety of colorful fish—a truly unforgettable experience. Lastly, a special mention to Rajesh at the barbecue—his kindness and exceptional cooking skills added an extra touch of hospitality that made our trip even more memorable.

As returning guests, we felt that the attention to detail had slipped compared to our previous visits. For instance, the turndown service was inconsistent, and we had to request more tea for our room after running out, which we hadn’t experienced before. We also preferred the previous dining experience, where the menu changed daily, offering more variety. The current setup includes numerous supplements, which can make the options feel somewhat limited unless you’re willing to pay extra on top of what’s already included.

Lovely resort, our second stay and we will be back. Beautiful sea, snorkelling and grounds, lovely staff and quiet ambiance. Fabulous new outdoor buffet setting a couple of nights a week.

New restaurant arrangement. One Japanese and one Thai. No other option unless you speak directly with the (very helpful) super talented, head chef. Very restrictive menus plus added supplements on most options. The supplements were probably the most unexpected and left a bad feeling. Understand this is being reviewed.

We were looking for privacy and tranquillity, and this place fits that image the best of all the places we have been to. It's just perfect. There's nothing to complain about.

This was our second visit to this island. We loved the new Japanese restaurant, and the island has lots of very soft sand. The house reef is also good.

The rooms could need an update now. They're starting to feel a bit old. There's really no great space to put suitcases in the room for instance.

from the very first day of my arrival they fooled me and tried to cheat me out of money, they said for new percentages. The choice of food is terribly small, they charge extra for everything, it's just awful

This property is wonderfully situated with beautiful beaches and a fascinating reef to explore. Lots of activities available and the staff are very attentive and helpful. Dining options are very good and there’s a feeling of luxury and exclusivity from the moment you arrive till the moment you leave . Would definitely go back and recommend to others!

This was our 4th stay at Vabbinfaru, and it truly feels like our home away from home. The recent updates to the villas are moderate but noticeable, maintaining their charm while adding improvements. The new restaurants are fantastic—Saffron provides exceptionally good Thai food, and Sangu Garden blends naturally with the environment, offering a lovely alternative dining experience. What keeps bringing us back is the warm and super-friendly staff, the unique Robinson Crusoe feeling with sand everywhere (and no water villas!), the delicious food, the great house reef, and the private, quiet atmosphere. There were a couple of minor, temporary glitches related to the introduction of the new restaurants. Nevertheless, our concerns were handled swiftly and professionally, ensuring our stay remained memorable. We love this island so much that we’ve already booked our next visit in March! Highly recommended for those seeking a serene and authentic Maldivian escape.

Lovely setting, great staff , tasty food and very relaxing place to spend a week

The resort provided just what we need to disconnect and recharge. 4-days in paradise. We booked a beach villa (sunset view) with private pool as well as all inclusive and this combination provided everything we needed. For transparency if you are susceptible to heat/humidity please note that the bathroom is open thus gets very hot and humid. Do request a floor fan ahead of your arrival to help offset the humidity. The staff are great and will provide. I do recommended this resort and will return in the future.

Banyan Tree Resort became a true oasis of peace and comfort for us during our vacation. It was an amazing experience! The first thing that stands out is the incredible friendliness and sincerity of the staff. It felt like we were visiting old friends. Everything at the resort is organized to perfection: from impeccable service to cozy villas surrounded by natural beauty. This Hotel definitely deserves 5 stars! I tried the massage and spa treatments and was absolutely delighted—every detail was handled with care and attention. I also recommend the yoga classes and meditation sessions held daily—it’s a real treat for the soul. The room was cleaned twice a day, and I am especially grateful to Najaah for her attentiveness and tact—everything was spotless and neatly arranged. We also tried diving for the first time and were pleasantly surprised by the instructor’s approach. He carefully explained everything, was very attentive, and supported us throughout, showing us the most breathtaking underwater spots. It was an amazing experience that is absolutely worth trying in the Maldives! Banyan Tree Resort is the perfect place to disconnect from the daily hustle, recharge, and find inner harmony. Thank you to the entire team for an unforgettable stay, you are truly the best!

It was the 6th time that we’ve been in this beautiful paradise. The place itself is amazing but the most important its the warming and helpful staff that it has.

The staff (okta, nata, sirima, the local staff who took care of us during breakfast and dinner, the lad who turned down our villa 41 every evening, the nepali girl and indonesian chef at madi hiyaa, etc (too many to list here!)) were all so friendly and attentive 😄 and of course the sea was so beautiful!
