Provider-sourced guest reviews.
We were surprised to be upgraded to a suite. It was very nice. Food was reasonably priced and we enjoyed it. Very pretty hotel. We recommend it to all.
Clean and comfortable. Lovely staff and excellent seevice
Breakfast was amazing. Great location and clean. Staff were very friendly and quick to assist.
Lovely hotel, very comfortable stay
Absolutely beautiful! Our room was amazingly spacious, lobby inviting and also spacious. The food/drink hall was very nicely decorated and inviting
A very comfortable and friendly hotel. Facilities were excellent and rooms were very spacious.
We booked this hotel because it had a pool and whirlpool but we couldn't use them as they closed early on Sunday, also the service in the bar/restaurant was poor as we had to wait on everything, we the found the bed uncomfortable but overall hotel was clean
Reception was lovely. Quiet room & lovely meal.
Nice facility with beautiful rooms. It was a very busy weekend with wedding so bar staff was overwhelmed meaning slow service
Delicious breakfast
This was a deluxe stay! The restaurant and bar were great! And the property is lovely! The only downside is that it is quite a drive in to town and we couldn’t really walk anywhere.
Check in was a bit too long - ended main problem is the breakfast was poor for the price and slow service from staff poor choice and quality also
I rarely write reviews but I wanted to mention the staff at this hotel. They were all so lovely, in all depts - reception, bar, gym and breakfast. Food was great, room great, nothing negative!
great hotel excellent staff
I had booked a single room with a double bed, got a family room with two singles and a double. Shower head at tap level and no shower curtain. Not good if you’re 6foot. Restaurant staff very good food not great.
Only stayed one night. Didn’t have any meals there or used the pool. Receptionist was really nice and told us everything we needed to know . Room was good. Easy to get bus from nearby stop in to Cork City and back.
The room was beautiful, reception was being upgraded but the hotel overall is really nice. We be complaint would be the duvet was far too warm for summer.
Chambre spacieuse et tranquille. Bien mangé au bistrot de l’hôtel.
Nice clean hotel comfortable room
Everything was excellent
Super clean Really quiet and peaceful at night Extremely comfortable bed Huge bedroom All extra provided - water, shower cap, tissues etc
3 night stay 1st night Lakewood AFC had their awards night. 3 Players running around the first floor banging on bedroom doors not sure who was responsible for these young lads aged 13/14 I take it parents or coaches possibly, (my door 4 times within 30mins) reported it to hotel manager he was sympathetic but it didn’t stop. Got a phone call from receptionist making sure I’d checked in as it wasn’t logged on the system all this my first night I thought Faulty Towers. However things got better after that. Food was good. Staff were ok But won’t be in any hurry to stay there again whilst in Cork.
Excellent hotel, fantastic room and the restaurant was superb
The hotel was beautiful, but we had some trouble finding it. Our maps on our iPhones 2 of them) sent us in the wrong direction.
The breakfast was amazing. The room was spacious
Great place to stay and easy to walk anywhere required for eats and sights
We booked 2 double rooms,1 room smelled musty like a dirty mop, they came in and sprayed the floor which made it slightly better, the other room was in fact a family room (for 1 person) this room smelt like sewerage. After several conversations we were offered another room, the new room was a downgrade from what was booked, we are still waiting on confirmation of compensation.
Very comfortable bed and delicious food for both dinner and breakfast. Lots of parking. There was a tour group being booked in when we arrived, and only one person on the service counter. That staff member was patient, friendly and efficient. The white horse pub, a short walk away, also had good food.
Room was good size and clean. Metres not very comfy.
Great stay Front desk was very helpful
Most rooms are still very old and outdated Pictures are only of the updated ones
Rooms were great, breakfast was nice. Pool area was not worth it.
The reputation suggests a good stay, however, and though no fault of the staff, the hotel is well used and needs investment - broadly. Those 'front of house' are a credit, but, absent investment The Talbot will be lickend to the car bearing the name - good but not special! 😞 Renovation is being conducted - there is hope. All carpets, seating and facilties need improvement.
Fantastic hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Room was spacious and clean. Pool and gym were fantastic would definitely be back.
Das Hotel war sehr schön. Unser Zimmer war auch sehr clean und schön eingerichtet
Pleasantly surprised. Good hotel, comfy bed, nice facilities and friendly staff.
Really cool room, recently decorated. The staff were excellent and the gym was good.
Excellent, could not be better. Rooms very spacious, clean and modern. Had dinner which was lovely.. breakfast was grand. The rooms are way nicer and bigger than the rooms in the nearby hotel, The River Lee.
Brought my elderly parents for a break away . Requested ground floor room for them and we were given room next door to them - staff very friendly and the breakfast buffet delicious . Would definitely come stay here again
Had a boutique room loved it for 3 nights, we 3 room’s business trip
Nice room. Good facilities. Good breakfast.
Gorgeous spacious room, lovely pool and gym.
Through our travels we have stayed in partnership hotels, Oriel is a five star environment. Loved the hospitality and warm friendly welcome. Dinning experience was great. Rooms were exceptional the bed was super big. Thanks for our stay
Very pleasant and responsive staff. Enjoyed our stay. Would come back.

Fantastic hotel, only bettered by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff
Lovely hotel, breakfast was poor quality
Offers hotel accommodation and meals with access to many local shops and services
A
Not a good hotel. Noise at night, no sleep
Spacious well-appointed rooms, pleasant staff. Easy parking. Well priced. Will no doubt stay again.
We stayed in a twin room the room has all facilities tea coffee iron hairdryer but only 1 bath towel for a double room. There was no shampoo in the shower only in the bath and tiles were broken in the bathroom.Beds clean and comfortable
Beautiful hotel, band in ballincollig centre easy walkable too town
Great location.
Lovely hotel
It was really good
Had a lovely stay, food was very enjoyable and staff were excellent.

This was a great spot to spend a night before moving on to the next destination! The room was very big, which was nice!

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Extremely clean as well. Check-in and our was very easy.
We are from out of country so we didn’t know the door key also worked the lights. The carpet was badly stained and the curtains fraying. The tub jets were dirty with gunk. There was no hot water for a showing the morning. The restaurant staff were great and coffee was great.
Friendly staff and comfortable
Outstanding hotel! Restaurant was excellent, breakfast was excellent! My wife and I loved the music that was presented in the Restaurant on Saturday Night.
Excellent hotel and staff. Room was well maintained and roomy, very clean. Breakfast was very good as well. Would highly recommend
Very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was not that comfortable and had a down duvet. No non-down bedding available the first night, but they did switch it out the second night.
Nice, clean, large rooms. Friendly Staff.
Very nice room
Very nice stay! The accommodations were great!
Large rooms, large beds, hot tub and pool access, FAIRY HOUSES - all were fantastic
Staff were excellent Bedroom was nice. Food was very good. Bed a bed linen were the the worst I have ever experienced clean both very old a not what you expect for €240 a night. Over all bad experiences.
Overall it is comfortable stay.
Nothing specifically wrong with the hotel other than all the dark paint and rugs. Disliked the fact of all the smokers standing next to the front door of the hotel. Great breakfast and friendly check in staff
Great hotel and I will stay again as I’ve stayed many times before but it’s not the first time that the restaurant staff have forgot my order and I had to remind them after an hour.
Great hotel, super friendly and helpful staff
We truly enjoyed our stay. Everyone was so friendly and the space was fabulous! Definitely recommend!
Nice hotel but you need a car. Not walkable to city.
Breakfast definitely need some improvement.
Excellent
It was a clean and staffed with very nice people. I was expecting more as it had a 9/10 rating is all. Parking and bringing luggage into hotel was a challenge as no elevator from parking and I couldn’t drop at door and leave luggage alone to go park. The staff were 10/10
Just lovely 😍
Nice hotel. Lovely clean and spacious room. The outside paintwork doesn’t give a good impression but don’t worry, the rooms are much better.
Extremely noisy on arrival , communion lunch going on but kids run amok everywhere no supervision so we had to get out of the hotel for hours. Getting a drink at the bar was an effort - although tables empty long wait to be seated and poor service
Very nice facility. Room was very nice. Restaurant & lounge served good food.
Our stay was excellent. The room was huge, spotless, quiet and the bed was really comfy too.
No mini refrigerator in the room which was a bummer.
We decided to stay just out of Cork so we could be closer to the Blarney castle. So glad we did! The hotel was in a perfect location and convenient. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and the rooms clean. The shower area was small but sufficient. Great views from our room.
Nice and friendly upmarket venue with nice breakfast, but the ensuite bathroom smelled of mildew, which caused black ceilings in the shower.Bathroom door had to be wedged open to try and provide air to reduce the bad smell of mildew which also pervaded the corridor.
The property is a bit tired looking. Carpets and furniture are stained. Otherwise, hotel was quiet (except during a wedding reception on Friday night) and the bed was comfortable.
Clean and quiet. Found a silverfish in our bathroom this morning, but other than that it was good. Very nice staff. Very nice breakfast - lots of selection.
Service was great as usual, however the chairs in the room we’re badly stained and the bed was two singles pushed together with hard mattresses
The staff was accommodating and verry helpful! Even though we got there later than planed we were able to walk a few blocks looking for some authentic Irish food, when the pub we stopped at was closed a very kind Irish gentleman was able to point un in the right direction. He was so great he even insisted to give us a ride to a wonderful fish and chips joint around the corner where we got plenty of food for our money. All in all very humble people all around the area and very friendly! Hotel room was fantastic nice big shower, very clean room and facilities but, the bed was a little worn and the breakfastwas worth the moneyas well. Great place!
Graham and the staff were all grand!
Truly awful experience, staff unhelpful and rude. Be aware that you have to pay a €150 deposit when you check in which is not advertised.
I booked this hotel on the strength that I had stayed here previously and had enjoyed my stay. I was given a family room with bunk beds, but that was no issue as on the whole there was nothing wrong with it. The bed was a little hard for my liking. Food in bar lovely and wifi fast and reliable. Good stay
Lovely room, friendly staff, will stay again. Breakfast overpriced. Will stay again
Lovely staff. Its professional without being 'fussy'. Young waitress on Breakfasts last Thur was very nice and helpful. Nice views of the Irish countryside. Ballincollig is a nice town. Not far from Cork city itself. I would go there again. Kev. Solo Traveller.
Room could have been cleaner, but was tolerable. The hot/cold valve for the shower didn’t always work as it should have and the bathroom was a bit run down overall. Parking and other guest services were superb though!
