Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The room was outside the hotel/pub across a cobbled driveway which led up to the parking high above the road. The bedding looked clean but the room was very basic and the curtains on the windows looking out on to the street did not pull together. So in fairness we didn't like it at all.
As above. We didn't stay overnight although we had booked and paid, including breakfast. We thought the pub seemed dreary.
The pub
Niets
1 Staff friendly and helpful. 2 Very clean. 3 Good breakfast.
1 Bed very uncomfortable. 2 Room too small for a four poster. 3 Shower very small and shower head did not hold up. 4 Car park too small and entrance too tight. 5 Non-Asian dinner options poor quality.
Lovely place, great location, good breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff.
Leuk hotel, authentiek Britse stijl.
Everything was perfect. Location i did not release it was away from the Town . Problem though .
Liked everything
I was not happy with the allocated room and they immediately gave me a better room.
The meals were just adequate.
The staff was nice and efficient. The bed was a bit soft, but still comfortable. Getting into the parking behind the hotel is a bit tight, but it has roughly 10 spots which is a huge plus! The food was good and we were thankful it was on sight, as the town is small with only a pizza truck as an alternative meal spot.
The hotel is worn down, but that added to the uniqueness of it with springy, sloping floors and dated furniture. Not sure how long the curtains of the four-post bed have been in place, but seem to me that they'd be a dust collector.
It was not quite what I expected. The pictures of the hotel show a traditional hotel in a small village. The route to the hotel was down a one way road. It was then through a gate which led up an incline to the car park. Parking was quite tight but adequate. Some drivers of larger vehicles needed some manoeuvring. Room was fairly clean but needed the odd bit of spruce up in some areas. The bed was extremely comfortable and the both the bed linen and towels were extremely soft which was a bonus. We ate at the property but it was okay. Wish we had known that it was mainly Bengali food as we would may have chosen differently. I had scampi and they were not wholetail and my partner had chicken Caesar salad which was okay. The staff in the restaurant were pleasant but seemed to be just going through the motions. I actually felt sorry for them as it seemed they did not really want to be there. Customer service slides towards a negative at that point. We decided to retire for the night but then decided to walk to the village. It was a nice little village that had a lovely atmosphere at a small restaurant by the post office which would have been more our vibe if we had realised. We then visited the bar on our return. The atmosphere here was different. The staff were engaging and it was a great atmosphere that was very welcoming. It was a good nights sleep but was interrupted by various hotel chores but that is acceptable. We both slept well. We had a good breakfast which was okay. We had planned to visit the local town to eat at the hotel before travelling back but in the end decided to head part way back home and stop at a public house on the way home for lunch. It was a successful visit, it was a comfortable room in a nice location for the night. Staff seemed to be in two tier, some were engaging and others just going through routine. It was not the worst place I have ever stayed in fact far from it but its a bout Customer experience.
Some of the staff not all did not engage with customers. This means it was every much two tier. If I graded it on bar staff and quality of room It would be a positive experience. If I graded it on food and the staff in the restaurant then it would be less so. This is less about the staff but more about Management and their training
Lokalizacja - spokojne, angielskie miasteczko
Śniadanie kontynentalne mogłoby być bardziej urozmaicone
easy to find
bad smell coming from bathroom like sewerage

Beautiful limestone building, cute property
Worn furnishings
The food and the location.
Nothing really
The staff were very friendly, service was great. The location is very beautiful.
An older building so you do hear every bump in the night, but is to be expected.
Location was great in a pretty little village in the middle of the Cotswolds. Plenty of parking.
Food was not great and breakfast choice dated and limited. Everything dated and in need of a refresh.
Great location very clean the staff were great . Would stay again.
If you have a dog meal times can be a issue breakfast time especially as we had to sit in a reception area that wasn’t very clean from the night before glasses and beer stains all over the tables I t’s different at dinner as if there’s room you can eat in the bar but it’s not the same atmosphere it just felt that sitting in reception having breakfast, we felt excluded .
Location to moreton in marsh
Dogs in the property when you are eating & having a drink
The location on the Heart of England Way. Food was good. Breakfast was also good
Nothing
Breakfast was great. Location was off the beaten track but suited my reason for being in that area.
Bar closed early.
Good bar and restaurant. Clean.
Could not open bedroom window. Made room hot and stuffy.
Ideally situated in a quiet Cotswold village
Décor a little dated. Could probably do with a little freshen up
We often visit the Crown because the staff are so nice and they are working hard to restore this lovely old hotel.
Location.
Somewhat dated, needs refurbishing.
Good location, parking facilities, good breakfast, friendly & helpful staff
Rooms were creaky and floors uneven, bit of a trip hazard however it makes the hotel quirky
As everyone says, this hotel is fantastically located in a lovely village in the cotswolds. Beautiful evening stroll meandering round the streets and footpaths before a pint back in the hotel pub then Sri Lankan meal in the restaurant. Lovely staff without exception throughout. Room was a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Full English breakfast included. Great find.
Absolutely nothing.
Great location, great building but over priced with very dated & tired decor. Could be fantastic but felt a bit cheated for the price. Felt like a tired travelodge set in a period coaching house.
Tir3d yravelodge experience, breakfast was poor.

Location in typical Cotswold village Nice restaurants and Indian food
A bit overpriced
Breakfast was very good
We were advised prior to arrival that this was an old building so the floors were not level Thought the stairs to the bar could have had hand rails for better safety
Accoglienza, gentilezza e pulizia
Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast on the sunny terrace.
A bit tired in places.
Overall the hotel was value for money. The rooms were clean and beds comfy.
Overall the hotel needs a bit of TLC! It looked very careworn in a number of communal areas. A newer more modern decor would be better
Comfortable mattress. English breakfast was cooked well
Bathroom had no opening window. Slow service at breakfast. Poor continental breakfast selection. Shower head was at a fixed height. No hairdryer. Electric fan had no remote control
The food was tremendous and the staff where super friendly
Nothing
Incredible staff, ambience and food Locals friendly, Church beautiful and village shop extremely well stocked. Location of hotel is convenient to visit surrounding areas.

Great stay room lovely & spotless food good staff couldnt do enough for you and very professional
Well on the way home i was going to book up again for the weekend 2 weeks away on my next weekend off and it was too expensive on booking .com ! That was my only disapointment ... that price !!!
Staff friendly
Rice with no sauce for dinner.
We booked overnight accommodation, and the room was spotless and well kept, making for a comfortable stay. Our evening meal was well presented, tasty, and excellent value. Tea making facilities were in the room, together with a bottle of water for each of us. Every member of staff we met was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable visit.
As it was an old property there were some low ceiling areas, and although a "Mind Your Head" sign was displayed, unfortunately my husband didn't spot it in good time to duck!
The room and staff
Couldn’t help it but the entrance to the parking area was built over a century ago for horses, thus, there was only a couple of inches space on each side of the car when going through the arch. I had to get my wife out to help direct me through. I recommend you doing the same.
The breakfasts were outstanding. Delicious and extensive.
The neighborhood
Hard to find with rent a car GPS
Great little inn and pub with kind staff that made you feel like family. Room was comfy and nicely appointed to make settling in easy. Breakfast was included and very fresh generous offerings with nice variety. Pub was a great mix of regulars and travelers which created a really fun vibe and it was very dog friendly ! Just perfect way to end the day!
Location and character of the building. Also the staff were exceptional and very friendly and helpful.
I happen to arrive on. One of the hottest days of the year and obviously it’s an old building so the room was quite hot.
Fantastic location, and excellent value for stay in the heart of the Cotswolds. The staff were very kind and friendly. It was convenient to have parking on site. They provided a fan for the room when we asked. Breakfast was fairly standard full English and continental - nice that it was included. We didn’t get to try the pub as it closed before we got home for the evening.
The white woodwork around the doors in our bedroom / bathroom needed to be cleaned. It was brown with fingerprints. But the rest of the room was very clean. And honestly, I would still stay there again if I needed a reasonably priced room in that location.
So much to like about this hotel! Firstly there was parking - a real bonus. The hotel had lots of character. The room was lovely - light, quiet, plenty of room, comfortable bed, good shower, big fluffy towels. The staff were super friendly. The food was excellent with a freshly cooked full English - no buffet bain-maries here, HURRAH!
Only thing was that there was nowhere to put shampoo, soap etc inside the shower. Everything else was excellent.
Historic and characterful hotel.
Unfortunately, it’s age meant there was no air conditioning so, in a heat wave, up in an attic room even with a fan we were sweltering and couldn’t sleep.
The breakfast was excellent, the staff were helpful, the village was so peaceful
The room was tiny and right on the road when we opened the windows
The location
Nothing
Staff were super friendly and helpful. I loved that the windows in my room were left open, the room was clean and cozy. Staff were great at explaining amenities, how breakfast would be served, and the food and beverages were great
Someone outside my window at 5:30am was messing with glass bottles. I'm not sure if this was someone at the hotel putting recycling bins out, or bin pick up but it was loud enough to wake me.
Lovely staff, good breakfast, there were fans in the rooms.
The carpets felt dated
Customer service
Disabled person unable to park, room windows no security to open windows at night to let air in this weather. Why you give a kettle that needs 10 people and will not fit in the sink??????
Omgeving
Heel slecht ontbijt.
great staff great food nice setting comfortable room very clean
sad that guests were charged more than locals for drinks at the bar
The location was amazing. Such a charming town & great walks all around.
The room was warm.
Location and parking. Nice bar
No air conditioning. Very very hot in the eves!
Clean, traditional, exceptional. Allowed us late check in. Nice breakfast.
Nil
Very good location in a very pretty Cotswold village, on site parking, good breakfast.
Evening food a bit disappointing for the cost,
Breakfast was good and the location was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
I understand the building is very old, but step down to bathroom was difficult. There was a warning sign, but in the night it could prove dangerous.
Good location.
Going with the fact that it is a good location, the price is twice what it should be for a room of this standard
Fantastic breakfast, fantastic Shri lankan food, good location in quiet village
Great location and car parking
Room and bathroom could be more updated. Not much room to hang something in the bathroom . No hooks or extra shelf . No suitcase fold tabel so it was on the floor
Lovely quaint village location. Breakfast was adequate. Friendly & helpful staff.
Bed was a bit soft for my preference
Excellent service, professional stuff, great breakfast!
Situated in a beautiful village, lovely 16th century inn. Character rooms and great parking
Nothing
Location in a quaint Cotswold village. Very friendly staff & always there if needed.
All good
Rien
Excellent breakfast and ideal location for my meeting the following day.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Room was comfortable, clean with a view over the village. Plenty of parking at the back of the hotel. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Accidentally booked the wrong date and we were allowed to change without incurring an extra cost.
Nothing
Location was the main value.
Yes, it is an ancient stone building from the 1800's, but the place could use major reconstruction to make it a competitive hotel. Had it not been the perfect location, we might not have stayed there.
The location, the staff, the value for money.
Nothing important, could be a little bit cleaner in the room corners
Supervriendelijk personeel. Mooie locatir
Helpful friendly staff during booking process and whilst there.
Wonky floor, but it is a lovely old (listed?) building, so nothing they can do really
Wonderful location typically English lovely staff Good breakfast
Nothing; it was fantastic
I love the hotel and the rooms breakfast was great
The water 2 individuals taps in the bathrooms that's not cool thing
Excellent location and charming property with friendly staff.
Room is showing signs of getting tired, but it was clean and comfortable. Entrance to the car park is tight (not a complaint, just an observation- it is a very, very old property so this is to be expected) but is made slightly worse as the road is narrow and cars can be parked opposite this entrance. If you have a large SUV, or maybe even some of the modern EV's, it may prove impossible to gain access. Just be aware. Once through the entrance arch the approach to the car parks (there are two small ones, but seem ample enough for the number of rooms) is Steep, so, again, be aware of this. Once parked, check in at reception (easily found) but, unless you know you are staying in the actual Inn, leave your bags in the car - you may have to carry them back up to the additional rooms which are next to the overspill car park.
Nettes Personal, ordentliche Dusche
Quaint Cotswold hotel with original features.
The parking is a bit tight especially when others can’t park within the lines and too far away from the wall.
Wonderful location and friendly staff
It has a lot of character, including creaky floors, is in a lovely location, has very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast and a comfy bed.
Small shower room, challenging parking, not enough sockets near the bed, and minor point - no decaff coffee in the room.
Lovely quiet village near Morton on Marsh and Stow. Walk around the village was pleasant, very old church and pretty buildings. Quaint historical pub and hotel. We stayed in a room on the first floor overlooking cottages on the main road. The bed was very comfortable, room service left the room looking fresh again. Useful parking available through the pub entrance and round the back (mind the entrance width!). Curry night on Friday was good. Gluten free and dairy free choices.
More fruit for breakfast - grapes, berries etc. Could do with some dairy free yoghurts.
Very well located and clean.
Nothing really.
Beautiful location. Lovely old building. Lovely food and tea coffee and water in the room.
Pretty little place that is ideal to visit Moreton in Marsh and lots of other nice Cotswold places.
Its not a 140 gbp per night hotel. The room was compact and basic, up stairs and along dated corridors. Staff were nice and overall it was great but not that room and not for 140 per night. Weak power in the shower, very basic shower gels, small bed.
Great atmosphere friendly different dinner excellent
Potential to be noisy. Room on the road
The hotel is in a beautiful village, it has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The dinner and breakfast were delicious, in particular the curry set menu. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Cotswolds area.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Parking a bonus

A lovely welcoming atmosphere.
Has a nice restaurant
Great location and very friendly staff
Noisy in the room, could hear everything in adjoining rooms and above us. Dirty bedspread but sheets and bathroom were very clean
excellent value for money. Pleasant staff. Very clean. Excellent location. Good breakfast
decor bit tired
Stayed 2 nights. Hotel in a quaint old village with some interesting characteristics. A very adequate breakfast included in the cost. Four poster bed very comfortable in a generous sized room with separate sitting area.
