The reception was indescribably bad, with long waits. The food was terrible, the general cleanliness was poor and untidy, the public toilets were dirty and disgusting, the general cleanliness of the place was poor, the animation was boring and amateurish, and unfortunately it was also incredibly crowded. The room was filthy with bugs. The staff is a bunch of jerks and condescending people. They had to spend whole days helping with the bugs. The restaurant is terrible, the tables are not cleaned, you sit in the same mess that the previous one left there. Not a hotel for Europeans. For locals! Avoid this hotel
Horrrroooor Dont travelling to this Hotel Pls The Food Is disgusting we was travel with family's childs for 12 days and we was have to Buy everyday Food . The beach Restaurant Pizza Its Free They Dont served you without Give them Money to the Hands . Dirty .. We are that Fanily That we don't care about how many stars even 3-4 For us Was ben 3 absolutely good in Spain But this is horror Hotel People special Muslims Eating Food With Hands from The Serving Desk and Take food By Hands Poland,Czech,Slovakian, Dont travel there
If you really want to rest your soul and body and return to your real life healthier and happier, this is the hotel for you and your family. From reception to rooms and restaurants, beach cafes, animators, and housekeepers, these are the people who truly die for your pleasant vacation. They make up for all the little things that aren't quite the best. I have traveled almost all over the world, but in recent years I have found my oasis of peace here. Sneza Snezana
It was pleasant to stay. Excellent hotel location is amazing, many activities. The staff is especially professional and humane. Pools are great. Good drinks, music and good vibes. Daniel
Excellent hotel providing outstanding service, warm hospitality, and a truly memorable and delightful stay experience.
We reached the hotel, we waited an hour for our room check in, the staff were very polite and friendly. We had a good sea view, the room was very spacious, with a safe, plenty of hangers and storage space and a fridge. The hotel itself needs updating and the carpets need to be replaced, The dining area was over crowded for the first four days so we didn’t get to enjoy our food or the experience at the hotel. on day 5 we got to enjoy our food and had it freshly warm not like the previous few days where people had to wait for plates and the queuing system was non existence we had to wait for a table some days. The beach was nice and clean with lovely white sand and so relaxing.
Where to begin… It’s quite hard to try and convey what this hotel was like, but to my fellow brits I’d say it’s a cross between the Solana from the TV show Benidorm and the hotel the lads stayed at in the Inbetweeners movie. The rooms are about 25 years old, absolutely knackered. Upon arrival I found a number of items missing from the room description, the safe, minibar, one of my blackout curtains and no towels. When we complained it was obvious the reception staff and had heard all this before. But, I was duly issued towels and a rusty minibar that was dirtier than your fridge at work. The whole hotel site was very run down, paint peeling everywhere, broken sun loungers and stained carpets. Dining was a battle, even in the ‘quite’ season the buffet is rammed. The hotel attracts a lot of ‘local’ guests from neighbouring Algeria, mainly groups of young men. Let’s say they don’t queue quite the same as we do, and they pile up their plates. Food often runs out, not that it’s a great loss. The food is bland, repetitive and 75% fish. The main bar was also interesting. The drinks selection was very limited, and the bar often busy. The staff were pleasant in the morning but 12 hours into their shift the frustration showed. They often ran out of glasses and quite often told you to go off and find some of your own. The hotel location was reasonable, the beach was lovely and as a ‘top tip’ the beach bar (only served larger so not really a bar) did pizzas at lunchtime which are slightly more edible than the main dining room offering. The entertainment team were decent guys, the evening shows were okay and the drinks would begrudgingly flow from the bar until 11ish. There seems to be about 15-20 brits at a time in the hotel. 65 % of the guests seem to be the Algerian lads I mentioned earlier. This naturally leads to the Brits forming a small group, which is important. One of the most disconcerting things about our stay was the lack of the respect other guests showed to the women. You all have to stick together and keep an eye out, I’ve seen women and girls be followed the bathrooms, accosted by the pools and generally been made to feel unsafe. It’s an absolute dive, although we did meet some decent people, and I had a laugh, making the best of a bad situation.
My stay at Hotel El Mouradi Port El Kantaoui was disappointing. The food quality was poor with very few options, and the restaurant was overcrowded with dirty table linens. Drinks were also of low quality. Our room carpet was heavily stained, and the bathroom was not properly cleaned, with hair and dirt visible on the floor and mirror. Overall, the hotel needs serious improvements in cleanliness and service quality
On arrival we were told our room was not ready and to get a drink and something to eat. Come back in an hour. Just like that!! We did as we were told. As we were very tired we went into the bar area and my husband asked for vodka and coke and gin and tonic. He was given 'vodka and coke' for both of us, if you could call it that. Tasteless. (A sign of things to come). We went into the restaurant. Could not find very much to eat and returned to the reception desk as requested. We were told to come back in half an hour. No apologies nothing. We returned again and were then given a form to complete, pay the tourist tax and given our room key. I explained I had paid for a sea view. The receptionist with a wave of her hand told me to 'come back tomorrow if I don't like the room'. It was now nearly 3pm and we had been at the hotel since 11:40am. The sea view was a glimpse of the sea between numerous palm trees. Too tired to complain as we were only there for 6 nights we unpacked. Most of our clothes we draped over a chair as only 5 hangers. The room was so worn, carpets stained bathroom worn; No towels. We both had to shower and use our beach towel. So then we had to try to locate towels. So the ongoing battle was looking for towels and toilet rolls. On one occasion when we did get the towels we came back to our room to find they had been taken and none left in their place. My husband managed to locate a member of housekeeping who insisted on looking in our room as he did not believe we had no towels!!!! Food: Breakfast, okay if you had either fried eggs or an omelette. Toast, margarine, croissants, jam, cereal. Very rare to find a cup and often had coffee in a paper cup along with juice, as no glasses for the juice. Crepes with sauces and toppings etc. Good. Lunch: Every day the same. Rice or couscous. Some sort of brown meat in an oily juice. Potatoes, sliced with skins on and boiled. Carrots and salad. Pizza. Everything tasteless. Evening meal: As above with quatered chicken breasts on the bone, on one occasion. Oh and fish. Fish on the grill every evening. As for the wine, I would not put it on my chips. Plenty of bread rolls thank god. Soup was ???????. Alcohol: There wasn't any. Lager - must of been zero. Spirits - don't bother. A lot of guests had clearly bought their own. No glasses. Often given coke and ice in paper cups half the size of a normal one, as we had no option other than to purchase our own alcohol. Hotel grounds dirty. After speaking to another guest we were told there was a Hard Rock Cafe nearby. Lovely food in there. Unfortunately it would be very wrong of us to recommend this hotel to anyone. Please do not take your children as nothing to eat. Snacks consisted of a covered platter in the bar area around 4pm each day. This was slices of cake and croissants with nothing to put on them. Poorest quality hotel we have ever stayed in. Staff: Tip the staff if you want any sort of service. Period. This hotel should be advertised as available. The pictures on the advert are very misleading and must of been taken when the hotel opened 40 years ago. We usually overlook bad reviews and make our own judgement. We should of taken note.
The Hotel...Very... very dated with sub standard facilities, extremely limited WIFI access only available in the lobby area and its poor at that, no mini fridge in room, toilet had a leaky ubend, repaired.. twice, shower worked more like a tap and needed to be fixed as lever to swap from main tap for bath to shower kept dropping, cracked tiles and stained carpet, although everything was functional it was below par for what you expect based on Love Holidays write up.. someone seriously needs to go back there and reconsider what is written!!!. Daily housekeeping and bedding was clean, bed was comfortable for me and air con worked fine, there was easy access to decent sized furnished balcony. Staff... bar staff need to be told what a smile is, for a customer facing role they have little clue. Reception staff were on the blunt side, housekeeping were lovely, polite and friendly always saying good morning or hello and restaurant staff were the same even though they were always very busy. The food.... all can say is we didn't starve and weren't ill... it seems to cater for more local tastes and often you didn't really know what you were eating exactly, fish, white meat or red meat, nothing specific stated. Pretty much same food every day. Was a relief to know Hard Rock Cafe was a few minutes walk and not expensive (compared to it here). Think converted to around £15 for main meal and pint. Outside areas of the hotel... plenty of space around the pool with more than enough sun loungers and mattresses, parasols were available to. The pools were OK, clean and there was pool staff about. The beach had lovely white sand and sea was warm, no nasty smells about, access to it is great, just past the second pool with a bar.. however very limited drinks etc. Not sure on food there as never went there at lunch time or anything. Entertainment.. well, pretty crap.. couple of things around the pool but seemed to involve more locals than holiday makers from further afield, in the evening, lip syncing, few games.. targeted at the younger people both male amd female, bit of belly dancing and bloke balancing pots on a tray on his head. Taxis at top of hotel drive and relatively cheap, Marina not far away where there are plenty of souvenir shops and cafes/restaurants to grab a coffee, beer or bit of food All in all, I would not recommend this hotel and would not return, whoever gives it its rating should be ashamed of themselves and must have very low expectations and standards.
This place was built 40 years ago and has never been touched since, Food is disgusting and cold, you don't know what you are eating no labels. Same food every day. It's like a cattle market all pushing and shoving. Pool area ant's paradise, no rubbish bins.
Booked with love holidays ment to be 4 star lol food what is here very poor picture of cow was liver nothing saying what the food was we are eating out also no all day buffet no ice cream for kids the good drinks you have to pay extra says gym and sauna once again if you pay for them the staff are helpfull if you tip them if not they walk past you spoken to a few people as this company have a row here of different hotels and there all eating out and rooms dirty and said same love holidays don’t care taken your money then hear nothing when they want a different hotel avoid at all cost work to pay for this I would rather be home at work
I'm genuinely still in shock. This hotel is an absolute disgrace and should be shut down. The rooms are filthy, stained bedding, broken furniture, and infestations of ants, and that's if you're lucky enough to get the room you actually booked. The food is revolting and often unavailable, forcing guests to spend hundreds eating elsewhere. Staff are rude, unhelpful, and only respond if you tip, and serious safety issues are ignored — including harassment, racial abuse, and even strangers approaching children. The entire place is chaotic, unhygienic, and completely mismanaged. Do not believe the photos or the rating — this is not a holiday, it’s a nightmare. Avoid at all costs.
First and last time in this hotel. Receptionist so unprofessional and not welcome at all. We got room in so bad condition, dirty, and without air condition when we asked to change room he told us if we dont like it always i can change hotels . They was so rude.
This hotel is very dated and most definitely needs a lot of tlc. First the Good points... Good spaceous outdoor area with 2 pools, 2 kids pools, plenty of sun loungers and space, large outdoor seating area, beach bar directly on the beach serving pizza, salad etc at lunchtime (no spirits at this bar), good wide long beach with white sand and clear sea. Staff all friendly especially the older of the 2 ladies who work in the restaurant, she was so nice. Bad points....dated hotel, ,dates rooms not of a high standard at all. Infact quite drab with carpet! WiFi only available in reception and the signal wasn't good most of the time. No other WiFi available to purchase. Restaurant was old, food serving area all too close together causing congestion with people all the time and quite stressful. Fish served every single day on the griddle and the queues from the masses of Algerians was unbelievable. Always another couple of options in the hot food area when you finally got to it after queueing. Always salads, pasta, some type of potato, soups and bread available so you won't starve. We found a kebab shop 5 min walk away which was very cheap and lovely! Pools are large but they both get very deep very quickly so the shallow end on both pools is small. Beach bar, lovely staff but it needs a good clean. Not much in the area as all these beachfront hotels back onto a main road with a few random shops spread about here and there so you would need to go to the marina for a few more little cafes and few more gift shops....no bars around anywhere (just hard rock cafe but wasn't interested in paying their prices). Also the safe-deposit boxes are in reception and you need a 2nd key to open it but they won't give you it before 8am... didn't bother us but your buggered if you needed to be in you safe before 8am. Entertainment team only bothered with the young lads and didn't do any water polo, mini disco etc as advertised. Never had any of them even say hello to us in the while time we were there. Would I return to this hotel ...no. Far too many Algerians here, mostly groups and they have zero manners. Push into queues in the restaurant and bar without a care, push past and don't listen to even the lifeguard. Also it's sold as 4 star but I would put it at a very low 3 . If your looking for a nice relaxing beach holiday with not much time spent outside the complex then get a beachfront hotel in the Port el Kantoui/Sousse area as all the hotels are so spaceous and the beach is beautiful but do your research beforehand and take note of the reviews. I would probably return but to a better hotel if I were wanting to relax.
Saved all year going holidays from hell dogs were better off in kennels wants closing down A,C bad got bad chest pizza and flyes landing on it all I eaten for 10 days trauma disgusting want full refund LV holidays wasn't bothered
I read reviews and thought, it cant be that bad !!!!! It was. We left 3 days early, would have been earlier than that had there been a flight available. Other guests, rude and ignorant beyond belief. Never been pushed and shoved to get out of the way before, all male. Feeding time was horrendous, had to join the scrum to get a plate, then try to get food in yet another scrum like event. Animals Restaurant place mats on the tables, disgusting. The complex is tired, dirty. Rooms also tired and dirty.
I do not recommend this hotel because it cannot cope with the flow of customers because 200 people (Algerians checked out and 400 people wanted to check in, the reception was total chaos, I was there between September 22-29, 2025 and it was a nightmare vacation because I received a bungalow type room in which there were only beds with mattresses, there was no refrigerator, old air conditioning that did not work, broken TV, I changed rooms and waited for the maid to come to clean the room against tips of course. It rained in the evening and our room was flooded and water flowed from the ceiling for 2 days and next to the bed we had a puddle of water. The beach and the sea were ok but on the beach a lot of dirt and the mattresses for the sunbeds are paid daily 2 dinars, but they were insufficient and the sunbeds were also insufficient, they had 100 mattresses for 900 people who were accommodated in the hotel, words said by the boy at The beach was already a business, with tips the problem was solved, the beach bar and the pool were ok, local spirits but consumable. The main restaurant was large in area but could not cope with the flow of customers who came to the table, you have to fight to manage to put food on your plate and the manager was sitting and looking at us, it was all a fight for food, I made a complaint and I received food in the evening at the a la carte restaurant but there you only get one dish that they decide and a salad, you do not get cake but old fruit. At noon we had dinner at the hotel restaurant on the beach but there you also only get a salad and a pizza, pasta, fish, mcnuggets with rice, no dessert. In the evening there was a good show but it ended with a fight between Algerians and Europeans, this before my eyes and the security did not intervene until too late. At the pool the water was dirty and full of Algerian boys who were screaming all the time. At night you can't rest because of them. The toilets at the reception, the pool and the beach are very dirty and without soap or toilet paper for the 7 days I was
I regret to share that my experience with the reception staff was less than satisfactory. Upon my arrival, the room allocated to me was not clean and lacked the balcony I had requested. Despite my inquiries, the staff was unable to accommodate a room change for several days. While the housekeeping staff was amiable, the late-night entertainment, which extended until midnight, proved unsuitable for a family setting. Guests were consuming alcohol late into the night and exhibiting aggressive behavior, even towards children. Furthermore, the same menu was served daily. I would not recommend this hotel and would not choose to stay there again. The entertainment seemed to cater primarily to those who consume alcohol, and their actions were often perceived as acceptable. Finally, my room had a nail used as a door stopper, the shower tray was in a poor condition, and the toilet tank was chipped.
We stayed in this hotel for 10 nights. We were a bit worried after read some reviews before we went, but it wasn't too bad. Of course some reviews were true, such as rooms were very dated and really needed a good improve. I sent an email a week before we went to request a room close the main area or main lift as my husband got poor mobility, no reply from hotel and we got the room far far away from the main area. In fact when we were waiting our room ready, we have noticed some young people got rooms very near the main area. On the second date we changed our room slightly nearer to the main area after we made a complaint to the reception. Cleaners definitely need good training and attention, rooms were not cleaned properly, they used brush instead hoover to clean carpet, left ground floor balcony door open ect. Pros, dining room staff were so friendly, specially thank to Ali, he made our stay were so happy, he always got our table ready and he also decorated table on our last day. It is our first time to Tunisia and we have booked their sister hotel next door, we will see whether we will come back or not.
Hotel is very low budget, wouldn't say this was a 4 star. Rooms were dirty, had a leak ceiling in bathroom from upstairs shower, room full of ants, and mosquitoes, was given one towel for for two adults, asked for three days to have another one. Staff at the bar were rude, and only become friendly the last couple of days before we were leaving, trying to get tips. Food was similar every day, we ate out alot, drinks were watered down, not strong at all, just tasted the mixer. Location was nothing around really, thank God to hard rock and bistrol being around the corner. Beach was nice and clean. And Marina was nice to visit. Beds were hard and woke up ache every day, first time we have been away, and was excited to be going home. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
I stayed in the hotel from September 15, 2025 for two weeks....The hotel has old furniture....poor hygiene...broken sunbeds on the beach...the food is modest...The beach is beautiful....The only value of the hotel is the staff who try to make the guests feel good, they work all day until exhaustion but they are not omnipotent...The only culprit for the conditions of the hotel is bad management... I would especially praise the staff in the restaurant and on the beach... The management would have to fight harder for the employees and the reputation of the hotel...
El Mouradi Club Kantaoui is without doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed in wish I could give no stars. From the moment we arrived there was no proper welcome, no explanation about the hotel, where to go, or what to do — nothing to make guests feel comfortable. Within the first 24 hours, I had to change rooms four times because every single one was filthy or broken — dirty bathtubs, broken curtains, lights that didn’t work, and even ants crawling around the toilet and bathtub. Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. As well as bedding left stripped for hours. The staff were rude, dismissive, and made no effort to communicate properly. Something as simple as asking for extra towels turned into a nightmare — they didn’t even keep enough towels for guests, which is ridiculous and the first time I’ve ever heard of a hotel running out. At meal times, they never once asked if guests had allergies or dietary requirements — shocking and dangerous for anyone with health conditions. On Love Holidays, this hotel was never described as a “local” hotel, but in reality it was full of groups of Algerian men who stared constantly and left the place dirty. The whole environment felt uncomfortable and unsafe. The buffet was beyond a joke — messy, overcrowded, and unhygienic. Guests were literally grown men fighting over chicken nuggets and cake, people pushing and shoving to get food, and tables left filthy. Drinks were watered down and awful. The spa experience was just as bad — the masseuse coughed directly in my friend’s face, had long dirty nails, and instead of creating a calm atmosphere, she was chatting to other staff members during the massage. My friend was left feeling uncomfortable, disrespected, and not relaxed at all. It was unprofessional and unhygienic from start to finish. This hotel is run-down, dirty, unsafe, and falsely advertised. There is no standard of cleanliness, no proper communication from staff, and no care for guests. The only good thing about this holiday was when it ended and I finally came back home. ⚠️ IF YOU SEE THIS HOTEL ON LOVE HOLIDAYS WEBSITE, PLEASE DO NOT BOOK. It is a massive regret and a complete waste of money
Came here 10 years ago and had a fantastic time so returned. It was awful. Queues and people pushing for food! Half of the food was inedible. No glasses at the bar! No towels at the pool. Filthy, rotten, dirty. Miserable staff! Only warm water on offer and moaned at if you wanted to fill up your bottle! Been to tunisia over 20times and this was the worst place we have been to! Wifi was awful. No room service. No evening snack bar as advertised! I could go on and on. We made the most of a bad hotel. Plus side gorgeous weather, nice pool (apart from the scum) comfy bed, good air con and powerful shower! Definitely not a 4star hotel and shouldnt be charged as one. Needs re evaluating and possibly given a 2 star at most! The poor manager skulks around as if hes given up! Looks like hes on the verge of retirement and is just counting down the days! The amount of times i seen people arguing over queue jumping was hilarious! No one wanted to wait in a 15minute queue to get a drink. It was totally ridiculous
excellent hotel location is amazing, many activites. Pool is deep but lovley temperature. Good drinks and good vibes.
Upon my arrival, I was greeted with a warm smile and special attention. The staff was both professional and incredibly attentive, always ready to respond to my needs with kindness. The hotel itself exuded comfort and elegance. Every detail, from room service to the little personal touches, reflected a constant care for the well-being of the guests. It’s an experience I will never forget, and I hope to return very soon.
Was going to cancel on the strength of the reviews, but decided to go....I decided to pay/bribe for a good room.we were shown to our room which was not great, but not too bad, reasonably clean, no smells, flat screen TV, large bed and no leaking toilet as per reviews...little did we know that the aircon was faulty and ridiculously loud, and we were directly above the entertainment, so no early sleep, but I'm glad we got that room, as lots of people were complaining about there rooms... Forward to food and drink....there was OK beer, no cocktails, and no sugar free drinks, no free water either unless you queued at 11pm..water was only 25p in the local shop anyway...food when we ate in the evening wasn't that bad, chicken, rice, fish, veg etc, but rude greedy Eastern Europeans made the experience awful, they act like animals pushing, grabbing as much as yhey can....I think they could set it out better maybe to make it less prison canteen...breakfast was awful, no toaster, hardly anything for my taste, but coffee machine and pastries were the order of the day...a guy fries/incinerates eggs, uses his bre hands to pick out the shells and despite my numerous attempts to show him how to fry an egg, he couldn't, so gave up...pool bar did pizza at lunch along with other bits which was OK but repetitive....dont think the restaurant staff can cope when hotel busy, as indeed it is hard to find a made up table, but we just grabbed a vacant one, then grabbed a member of staff for our cuttlery...there are 2 pools, we used top one which was OK, bit scruffy but quite clean...beach was OK too, but always packed...you have to buy tokens for the towels, and the towel guy thinks he is the big boss...he tells you when you can or cant change your towels.he was the rudest member of staff there....The hotel was surprisingly busy, full up actually, so no beds available after 9ish....Our room was cleaned, bed made, towels changed daily, so we tipped our lady daily...the rest of the staff in the main were miserable, lacklustre and only were friendly if they thought you would tip them...lots of nice staff though, and despite the reviews, they are always trying to clean the hotel which is quite run down....I really think that the guests make this hotel a poor experience...one northern girl and her friend complained about dirt in the pool, screaming and shouting, taking pics (for a refund I guess) trying to get the Brits to back her up, but they had left there food to be blown around hence the dirty pool, then smashed a glass the next day and left it...they, like several other guest would put towels on beds early, and not be back all day, so wrongwhen dozens of people were searching for a bed....What can you do with disgusting guests like that??? I would not book this hotel again, but actually would return if it was super cheap, as didn't have an awful experience, just not a great one, but as they say, you get what you pay for...
The rooms are very basic no safe no mini bar very old fashioned, thee was a broken cupbard broken draw, dirty carpets no bedding just a sheet we had a ant infestation as did all the people we spoke to some had beetles in rooms the pool area is in bad state. The food was nor good, plenty choice but very poor. The bar staff work so hard ut the choice of drinks and qualiy of them is very poor.the waiting staff. are good too One of the bar managers was a rude man that screams at his poor staff in front of customers I complained to hotel manager about his behaviour. Will not be going back to that hotel.
I have never written a review before, but this place was awful - rooms extremely basic - bathroom - bed - tv - desk + chair ( with stains on), thats it...... hairdryers for hire only in dinar, then they want to return the deposit on morning of leaving in coins, which cannot be changed back to gbp, safety deposi boxes are in a room by reception, no fridge in room,no tea coffee facilties and I had branches from a large pomegranate tree poking me on the balcony, so no view at all - was on ground floor room 321 - top of corridor smelt of sewers, corridors full of flys resting on the walls and my bathroom was the same at least 40 flys resting every morning, so kept the door shut. Bar frequently ran out of white wine, one evening also ran of of vodka + gin - my holiday buddy was up at 5.30 every morning to secure sunbeds on the beach nothing left by 8am - then the sunbed wars start with people complaining and shoving beds in any space they can find " I was told to move my bed rudely because I refused the lady tried to physically push me off the bed to move it over security were called" food was ok but check it's cooked as i got a piece of chicken that had just been shown the pan not cooked at all, so need to watch what you are eating - large queue's in dinning hall for Breakfast + dinner - there were often queue's at reception to make complaints infact on check-in we were left standing like lemons as the staff dealing with our check-in went to assist with someone who was complaining about there room, (this set alarm bells off instantly) very disheartening, and clearly a waste of time as nothing is done when you do complain. this is no where near 2* never mind 4* Also I note in pics it does not show the volleyball section right next to the sunbeds, the ball come over and hit my shoulder one day and no staff asked if I was ok, just went back to playing ! so all in all my first visit to Tunisia was a big thumbs down. To finish on a high note the beach is beautiful white sand as the pictures show.
So we have travelled a bit in Africa and will try different foods & experiences - so despite reading poor reviews weeks before we were due to stay here - we thought it cant be THAT bad ... can it - we are of the "holidays are what you make them " type of people but how wrong could we be .... ?! Check in was quite a relatively easy experience despite not having a "voucher" printed off for the booking - on your phone doesn't count here - so i emailed a copy of it to the hotel and was accepted. - Paid the tax got our all inclusive bands and was then told to go into the Restaurant for food, before going to the room - was 9pm - so we thought fair play - when we got in - waiters fought over a fairly empty place to seat you in their area, at a dirty table ?!- seems they do this to warrant a tip they clean a dirty table rather than sit you at a clean one ? We had a walk around and tbh there want much on offer - but whilst doing this we were subject to a young group of Algerian lads kicking off in restaurant shouting and throwing things around - at that point we left and got our cases and went to our fully carpeted room (!) . A decent view greeted us from the balcony of the pool and the Seafront - room was basic but did the job - 3 beds a fridge a TV, cleanish shower but a non flushable toilet - tbf the maintenance guy in reception came and fixed it straight away - glad he did the way the holiday went ! A knock at the door was from another guy from restaurant who had bought us up some food after seeing us leave earlier - was a flimsy pizza and what i later learnt to be a brisk - not the best but we appreciated the effort - as we were hungry we walked the short distance from hotel around corner to the Hard Rock café to get some food and a bit of entertainment. The room had zero information on when things were happening , where anything was Times for breakfast, lunch and dinner etc etc.... ( also no smoke alarm ! ) Next day - the lobby was FULL of people on all the seats on their phones - turns out the "Free Wifi" only works there - so for around £12 get yourself an eSim from the onsite shop - who also sell "bits" to help during your stay. There are 2 pools - the top pool nearer beach is the bigger and less busy one - and gets the sun all day long - the smaller near hotel one - hosts all the Animation activities throughout the day. Speaking of Animation - very much if your face fits type of deal - we always join in activities - breaks the day up - helps the team keep busy and gets you socialising with all walks of life - not here though unless they low on numbers - some activities are repetitive - darts twice a day etc etc - if you have a teenage daughter - watch them like hawks - some of these guys are out for one thing - ALSO the local lads that stay there are also all over the girls - regardless if they are with partners or not - but definitely pray on the young and impressionable females. The All inclusive drinks - not as advertised - you can get beer - not many more options - ask for wine at 11:30am and get told "later" - ask for a cocktail "red" or "blue" options and its hit and miss if they put alcohol in them. The water situation bit strange but they do have water coolers in bars for you to fill up bottles you can buy from the bar for 1 Tunisian Dinar - that's the only water available - you can get a "free" bottle between 10:30pm and 11:30pm. The Beach has beautiful white sand and the sea is lovely and warm - one benefit of the place - if you fancy a walk you can go along the beach down to the marina - around a mile - nice little area - quite a few of your normal pushy guys trying to get you in their bars - food pretty much samey samey one decent restaurant - but price reflects this. Through the arch you can walk up to the funfair and a nice water fountain feature . Evening entertainment - again can be hit and miss - varies between a cabaret show ( magician has to be seen to be believed ) , folk dancing, circus type show , "Miss Tunisia" sadly missed the foam party as had to have a day in bed ill ( dodgy water from a bottle ) - this seemed to be the best night that all enjoyed. You will que a lot for drinks and food - breakfast wise we found the freshly cooked pancakes and eggs helped fill you up for the day because most of the other items on offer for lunch and dinner were not the best - no signs on anything - if it took your fancy, pick it to try and take your chances ...?! Also if you use your manners - the bar staff take the pi55 out of you - for saying please and thankyou and smiling - "fed up of hearing thankyou, all day, thankyou thankyou, thankyou .." was a comment made by a beach bartender. Snacks are limited, and not varied - "fresh pizza" is the best on offer down by the beach between 12:30 and 2:30pm. You do get an invite to a "gala" dinner on one of the nights - this is a nice concept - with having food bought to you rather than the madness of the buffet - however - there is no menu - its just the same food from the buffet - served to you - and lasts 2 1/2 hours . Certain staff do try and if you tip them you get a bit extra than those that don't but the 20% that try are sadly ruined by the 80% that cant be bothered. If you can change your hotel I would advise to do this - if you are too far down the line - take extra for eating out as you will need to do this on occasion.
On arrival it was a shambles welcoming, make sure you have the reception booking printed when arriving ( we didn't took ages to sort) then sent over to the currency cashier for tourist tax then sent to the canteen where there was a fight kicking off. We went straight up to the room, the staff knocked on our room and had brought us some food which nicely expected. It was a shame it was vile , we ended up ordering foods and drinks at the hard rock cafe. This was a pattern for most nights eating out where it was possible. The hard rock cafe is less than a 5 minute walk. We walked up to the marina two nights which was also worth the walk. So back to the hotel, room wise I think we were fortunate view wise, overlooking pools and sea apart from that run down rooms , uncomfortable beds....not what you see in the advertisements. Every hotel I've stayed at you have a information card with all times of meals , opening times ect. Not here few signs around hotel but you probably find out half way through your holiday. However there is a safety booklet..... Loo didn't flush on arrival but the maintenance guy did fix it promptly. The canteen ....not resturant ...low hygiene standards and cramped buffet area. Waiters would sit you at dirty tables and wipe crumbs off stained table cloths. Food was dreadful on the few times we attempted it . All we ended up eating was pancakes and eggs at breakfast. In summary I think prisoners eat better than you do at this hotel!! The bar staff, except one lovely welcoming and professional man who was always polite. The rest were creepy if I was getting a drink on my own , or rude with my husband with me. We witnessed staff taking the puss out of english people with manners but would serve rude other nationalities, lots of queue jumping . If you want a cocktail it's Russian roulette you never know what you'll get even if you ask for something. The alcohol in the all inclusive ran out on more than 3 occasions apart from brandy and whisky but they have plenty only if you pay extra for! Again every other hotel I've stayed all inclusive house keeping top you up daily with bottled water. Here you pay 1dt for bottled water or they have a free hour to get free bottled water on the evening. When me and husband had a bottle, my husband starting drinking it and said it was tasting metallic. I told him to stop and was ill for a whole day and a half which he missed due to the fact they ran out of bottled and must of filled up with tap water. If you get water from bar ensure its an unscrewed bottle or just buy it. Some of the animation team were alright and activities were good. They seem to favour young impressionable girls and don't make much of an effort with English families or couples. Entertainment was very hit and miss. Some of the male holidayers seem to target lone women/girls on their own which I faced a fair bit when my husband was ill. I feel its not a safe hotel for lone female travellers unless you want to risk it you might be lucky. We did meet some wonderful people including a lovely couple who made our holiday more fun . Quoting what a lady said to me " you make the most of it" and we did try all we we could to. We'd go back to tunisa but never again at this sorry excuse of a hotel.
Absolutely disgusting hotel full of cockroches ants broken furniture broken tiles never clean the rooms literally have to beg for toilet paper staff are rude food is disgusting would not recommend oh yeah and the place reeks of piss
Rooms are shocking first room given stink of damp farces and urine second one bearable but no air con no phone line and toilet stopped working told staff wrote it down never bothered, food absolutely shocking best slimming world ever , free for all every meal time and majority inedible , the bartenders during the day were lovely , no ice cream as advertised no a la carte restaurant that states you can reserve weekly and don’t get me started on the so called Gala Dinner, meant to be All Inclysive Vodka, Gin, Whiskey only cocktail Sex on the beach and lager that’s if they didn’t run out once at half nine at night couldn’t have anything but beer ,and the entertainment team were not interested unless you were you single girls the fact you have to pay tax to stay here is laughable , no one is interested would never come back
all of the team so lovely, made me feel so welcome and at home! the animation team are amazing and really put in effort into the entertainment, so pleased with my stay and will definitely be coming back. the only thing i would say is the food could include some more english options but we all ate very well each day!
Location is amazing, many activities. Pool is deep but lovely temperature. Entertainment is absolutely amazing. Very talkative, lovely people. Ja Gli made me feel very welcome. Bar staff nicer in the day. Good drinks and good vibes. Food is decent, could be more options.
This Hotel is the most disgusting place I've ever had the misfortune to stay in food diabolical wouldn't feed it to a dog Hotel rooms filthy moved four times before found one just about acceptable took 3 attempts it's not the staff at fault it's the owners they just don't care and supply lowest quality they can purchase in everything from food to furniture drink staff can't cope with amount of guests needing to run around like headless chickens pool not cleaned whole time I was there everyone that I could talk to and understand was absolutely shocked and disgusted with the place not given any information about mealtimes or anything else in Hotel this place should not be open to public it's a health risk bare wires wet floors not mop'd witnessed customers go flying while carrying glasses of drink from bar ran out of all inc drink umpteen times murder to get served anytime one person serving coffee and alcohol and soft drinks people allowed to jump queues if algierian or Tunisian seen three fights while there between Eastern Europeans and North Africans due to queues and certain religious people approaching very young girls touching and trying to kiss or fondling them reported no action taken I advise anybody thinking of going here to avoid at all costs if you've already paid do everything in your power to change Hotel or get reimbursement 🤮😡🤬
I’m not usually one to complain and can let a lot of things slide, but El Mouradi was unbelievably grim from start to finish. The hotel itself is filthy. The carpets in our room were worn, stained, and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. From our balcony, the “view” was nothing more than a roof. We asked to change rooms twice, but were told there were no alternatives available. The bar was an absolute joke. Expect to queue forever, only to be handed a flimsy paper cup. Beer seemed to be the only option on offer, anything else simply didn’t exist. The food situation was even worse. The so-called food court was a free-for-all, more like a fight for scraps. If you like prison food, this may be the place for you. I gave up and stuck to chips, but since everyone else seemed to have the same idea, I was lucky to get five on my plate. That was dinner. Even in September, when kids have gone back to school, the place was heaving, overcrowded, and unbearable. There was nowhere to relax, just queues and chaos everywhere. The whole experience can only be compared to a trip to Pontins in the UK, but somehow, much worse. I honestly didn’t think that was possible. Do yourself a massive favour, avoid this hotel completely!!
AVOID AVOID AVOID if like us you’re thinking it can’t be that bad think again ! Photos added will show you. Absolute filth wouldn’t take shoes off literally wipe your feet as you leave ! We left after 36 hours. The ‘canteen’ can not call it a buffet restaurant was carnage, food was disgisting. Queues to bar were ridiculous to get a tiny paper cup of beer or coffee ( beach bar the bartender laughed at us for asking for vodka). We complained twice then when we told them we checking out they wanted to move our rooms so we could be next to each other (we were put way away from one another) we told them to late We booked a Airbnb as we couldn’t stay there any longer Any good reviews must be done by staff as it is truly disgusting!!
A few hiccups but it's what you make it. Mostly me just not reading things properly. I love Tunisia and the people here. Hotel staff are awesome kind and hard working fantastic location. Great entertainment
horrible 1000%, never ever go back and not recommend to everyone.I want to forget this hotel forever 😡😡😡 Staff horrible, rooms super dirty, only food was tasty but very poor assortment and you standing in line for 10,15 or 20 min to get your dinner. Everything was wrong....
To say we was disappointed would be an understatement. If you’re like us and thought the reviews were unhappy customers the odd one. Think again before booking. This place was truly disgusting. The rooms were vile and you wouldn’t want to take your shoes off. The all inclusive was the absolute bare minimum of beer (no spirits or water) and disgusting food. We left after a day and half after asking to move rooms twice. The hallways smelt like urine and the food you wouldn’t even feed to your dog. This hotel should be avoided at all costs. DO NOT BOOK HERE.
Review of El Mouradi Hotel Positive Aspects Housekeeping, bar staff, and waiting service were excellent throughout the stay. Staff worked hard to keep areas clean and provide attentive service. Food was generally nice, with a variety of options available at each meal. Excursions outside the hotel (quad biking and boat rides) were enjoyable and offered far better value when booked independently. The nearby Mall of Sousse had excellent shopping and dining, including international chains such as Zara, KFC, and Burger King. At the marina, the funfair was lively at night and featured a beautiful waterfall, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Areas of Concern 1. Uniforms: Housekeepers wore all black, which gave a less welcoming impression. A lighter, more professional colour would improve presentation. 2. Tourist & City Tax: Three adults were charged £195.62, while other guests reported paying only £40–£70. An additional £10 was later charged, creating frustration and confusion. 3. Reception & Guest Information: No guidance on meal times, towel rental, or sunlounger rules. This lack of communication led to unnecessary problems and misunderstandings. 4. Rooms: The first room was clean but had a colony of ants and overlooked a park. The second room had a stiff door and a hedge-blocked balcony view. 5. Cash Machines: The foyer ATM only allowed 300 Dinar (£75) per withdrawal with a £2.50 fee each time. Better machines were available at the marina. 6. Dining Experience: Queues were long for popular items (pancakes, omelettes, grilled meats). Portion sizes varied depending on staff. Sweets were restricted to two pieces despite others piling plates. The dining atmosphere was chaotic due to overcrowding and queue-jumping. At the marina, some restaurant staff were reported to keep money without asking, which created discomfort. 7. Sunlounger Management: Guests had to pay for towels and reserve loungers early in the morning. Staff admitted disputes over loungers were common, leading to unpleasant confrontations. 8. On-site Spa: The manicure and pedicure service was basic; better value could be found in local salons. 9. Drinks & Entertainment: Drinks were limited (beer, cocktails, soft drinks, water rationed to one bottle per guest). Evening entertainment was repetitive: children’s shows, karaoke, and simple games. El Mouradi Palace, the sister hotel, offered far superior entertainment and bar service, making it a more relaxing experience. The nightclub at El Mouradi Palace was poorly designed — dark, enclosed, and uncomfortable. Overall Impression El Mouradi provided basic accommodation with excellent housekeeping and bar staff, but issues with transparency, organisation, and guest communication reduced the quality of the stay. Inconsistent tourist tax charges, poor management of sunloungers, limited entertainment, and problems at nearby restaurants created disappointment. Would We Return? No.
The hotel was vile ants in the rooms and showers with poor water pressure. The food was horrible bird tongue soup and fish for breakfast. When you tried to get food it was like the hunger games with everybody pushing eachother. The man who is selling jewellery was vile extremely aggressive after selling me and my family fake silver rings. The gentleman who does the spa's was brilliant went above and beyond like most of the bar staff. I wouldn't recommend booking. Shops near by was very cheap. Entertainment was awful. Drink selection was just vodka or gin.
This is by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived, we were extremely disappointed. The food was absolutely terrible—disgusting in both taste and appearance—and the entire hotel had an unpleasant smell. The place is extremely dirty, old, and poorly maintained. The staff were rude, unprofessional, and showed no respect towards guests. We paid extra money for additional facilities such as a minibar, iron, and daily bedsheet changes, but none of these were provided. When it comes to drinks, the so-called “all-inclusive” was a joke. The only alcohol available was beer and one cocktail (Sex on the Beach). Any other cocktails were unavailable. Even bottled water was not included—we had to pay €1 per bottle. What’s advertised online is nothing like the reality. The pictures are completely misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the hotel. This stay completely ruined our holiday and left us feeling disappointed and upset. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to avoid it. It is not worth the money, time, or frustration.
Let’s start with the positives, most of the staff are friendly & helpful, especially the restaurant & barstaff who were very attentive & kind to my family, the beach is a lovely sandy beach right next to the hotel & the swimming pool area is fine, not overcrowded & no need to do the dreaded sunbed run every morning. However, other than that it’s all downhill. We arrived late at night to be put in the worst hotel rooms I’ve ever seen. The bathroom floor was flooded, towels covered in black, furniture in disrepair, and carpets (why have carpets in a beachside hotel I have no idea!!) were filthy! Hairs on the beds & stains on the sheets, blood on the wall- awful!! I CAN’T EMPATHISE HOW FILTHY & RUN DOWN THE ROOMS WERE, I personally wouldn’t even walk on the carpets barefoot, We requested a change of rooms which we got, these were marginally better. I complained to love holidays, then got offered better rooms (still not fantastic). The towels weren’t always replaced without asking, so used ones taken away but no clean replacements, toilet rolls also not topped up when needed. In my daughter’s room, some new asthma inhalers (&choc bars) went ‘missing’! The canteen was like a cattle market, really busy, and the food was not good. If you are vegetarian or have dietary needs, you will lose weight as there is nothing for you except a bit of salad & bread, soup , pizza, rice or cous cous some days. The food is very repetitive, and not of a great standard. Lunches & dinners are the same. The beach bar is ok, but again serves the same food all the time & you won’t get a seat. In both the main canteen & beach bar, there are always long queues for the popular foods like pancakes & pizza, and could wait up to 20minutes for it. You will get an invite to a ‘Gala night’, we didn’t actually go but were told this consisted of beef, soup & omelette. Alcoholic drinks were variable, some really strong, some tasted like they had no alcohol in at all. You have up pay for bottles of water, except between 10.30-11pm, when you could get 1 free bottle per room, The soft drinks were served in tiny paper cups, not much more than a mouthful. There was quite a nice gym, but this wasn’t included in the all inclusive hotel, so cost 10dinars for an hour (not much really but felt it a cheeky extra charge) There was Entertainment, games in the daytime for adults & kids & entertainment at nighttime which was not to our taste & was quite repetitive. DO NOT GO HERE EXPECTING A 4* HOTEL, IT ISN’T EVEN A 2*!!!! Staff are clearly fighting a losing battle.
The rooms were dirty, shower didn’t work properly, air con didn’t work, unable to get clean towels even when we complained to reception they shouted and said we didn’t give them back we had now towels to give back. Two lady’s and one towel. Food was awful never ate there the smell from the restaurant put us off. Would never return.
Very poor hotel, wrote truthful review and was. Called to speak to management. Great I thought, customer relations lady was there and they spoke to all staff especially chef and dining room and absolutely nothing changed. Bar service dreadful. Entertainment was ok the 1 night I saw. Room basic ...good aircon but the tv was from 1950. Will not return
Avoid at all costs Food was disgusting, restraunt wasn't clean, people fighting for plates. Curry for breakfast NO!! rooms basic unfortunately my bathroom, inside cupboard and wardrobes was infested with ants. Reported at reception to be rudly told we fix and walked away. Bar .. trying to get a drink was unreal, foreigners just pushing in and demanding drinks. Didn't see much of the entertainment team throughout the day.Night time entertainment was ok. Pools were the best part of ot and the life guards went above and beyond but there boss spoke to them like dirt. Witnessed one life guard (jaguar) save 3 kids from drowning and his boss just accused him for going a casual swim... Right on tbe beach wich is nice, close to shops ,cheap as chips to eat out thank gos as we had to eat out most days. Wanted to come home after day 2 but thankfully met a lovley family and my daughter was in her element deffo made our holiday alot better.
We booked this holiday as a family of 5. Two teenagers, two adults and my son aged 8. On arrival rooms were not ready until after 1pm. After the long awated room revealing it was devasting. The room was carpeted with cigarette burns in the carpet and stains everywhere. Very old dated furniture, and a smell like being in what I can only describe as the sewer. The stench of faeces were unbelievable. As adults we tried to brave the stained carpets in the room and also the hallways that were like something out of a murder scene, ripped, full of stains and the smell of hell. After 2 days we simply couldn't stand anymore, we were moved and after seeing 4 rooms that were the same standard we were given a room with less smell and cleaner carpet however still dated with cockroaches on the balcony. The food was simply unedible. We didn't expect English food however the food was absolutely vile and clearly catered for the Algerian families that the hotel was full of. No ice creams for the children, alcholic drinks topped up with water and given to you in a cup that dentists use to rinse your mouth out after local anesthetics. Pizzas were raw dough, and had no taste what so ever. We ate out every afternoon and every evening. As a family of 5 this obviously became expensive. The beach was absolutely stunning, however please be careful of the jelly fish. The swimming pools were neither here nor there. A baby pool for under 3s and a larger pool that you needed to be over 5'5 to stand in. Sadly not great for my 8 year old who has recently learned how to swim. Entertainment left alot to be desired it certainly wasn't impressing. The staff however you honestly couldn't ask anymore of. From the cleaners, to floor staff, desk staff they were all absolutely amazing! They went above and beyond but are clearly fighting a hard battle in a very run down, old hotel. It really is a shame! If they could cater with some simple food, and change the carpets the hotel would have been given a higher rating. I believe its around a 2 star at push from myself and family. I have seen other hotels and at the same price, please consider booking somewhere else.
I read the reviews after I booked and was slightly worried. The hotel is slightly dated but we both had a great holiday , the staff are all totally amazing and can't do enough to help you The food was good! we love trying different things ,if you're looking for burgers and chips this is not the place for you though Waiters were all brilliant and couldn't do enough to help you Pool staff put our beds out at same spot each day for us so no need to rush ( tips help ) Loved our time here and will return
I just got back from this hotel after a week stay with my family, and whilst the hotel is in dire need of upgrading and more cleanliness, the staff were the only thing that made this holiday for us. The reviews are true in that the hotel rooms especially are extremely dated and require modernisation. There were no extra amenities in the room, such as hair dryers, kettles etc. We had a fridge, for which the cable did not even reach the socket, so we could not use it. We also had a broken tile in the bathroom, which was a safety hazard. The bath and toilet were also not very clean. We had ants in our room, which was not pleasant. Towels and toilet roll were limited, and we would often have to ask the cleaners for more, to which they seemed annoyed. There is no wifi around the hotel, except in the lobby. I would recommend purchasing an e-sim, which saved my life that week. The food choices were okay, but often repetitive. It could get really busy too and lead to queues and people pushing and shoving in. The waiters were all friendly, but seemed overworked and tried their best to accommodate. We often had to wait for a clean table and drinks etc., it was often chaotic and disorganised. The beach was a beautiful aspect of the hotel. It is connected to the hotel, and included lots of activities throughout the day. It was at a very convenient distance, and great for swimming and watching the sunset. However, what made this holiday for us were the staff. The staff were 5* for us. Firstly, Khalifa at the restaurant, who we initially met after checking in. He went above and beyond for us every night and was so lovely. He was extremely hard working and made us feel so welcome. Furthermore, I have to say the biggest thank you to our friends in the animation team who were the highlight of this holiday. A special thank you mostly to Hassan, Mohammed and Feras. They were extremely welcoming towards us, entertaining and the most loving and caring animators. They worked hard all day to keep us entertained and made sure to involve us in everything. They really made us feel special and like family. We miss the team dearly and would return simply for them. They are a credit to this hotel and deserve all the recognition and praise. Whilst this hotel requires a lot of improvement and is definitely not a 4*, I have to say the staff (in particular, the animation team), made this a very memorable and enjoyable holiday for us. We would happily come back tomorrow to see them again, if we could!
I just had an amazing week at this hotel. The hotel is very dated and old but the staff were brilliant, especially the animation team. A big thank you to Mohammed, Hasan and Feres. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay!
Im not sure i was in the same hotel as all the other people that are giving 5* The only nice thing about this hotel was the pool area. The hotel smells like sewage. The hotel is dirty, the rooms smell of urine and the carpets look like they've never been hoovered in a long time.. Carpets in a hotel room are a definite no no anyway! The dining room smells awful, the ques are ridiculous and the food god only knows because as a family of 6 we never touched the food. We decided to move out of this hotel to another. Please belive the bad reviews you read of this hotel, I dont normally leave negative reviews but when your spending money wanting a nice holiday and you end up here its just not fair. The 4* should be removed because this definitely is not.. This hotel was the reason our holiday got off to an awful start. Take my advice and book somewhere else.
Was my first time going with family in holidays in different countrie, and yeah we did enjoy, I think was very cheap holidays all inclusive for 7 days woww. If you want luxury then pay more but I just want to have fun with family with low cost and this I got! Happy with the staff, with everyone, happy with the food and all the activities. Thank you guys for everything, we really enjoyed 🥰🥰🥰!!!
A great thank you to the staff, they are extremely kind and forthcoming, you leave feeling appreciated. The food is lovely, the weather perfect, a wonderful experience altogether! Sanda and Juraj
C'est très nul
This hotel is severely outdated, in desperate need of TLC and generally not fit for purpose at all. This was our second trip to Tunisia. After an amazing stay at Seabell just down the road we thought how different could it be. Boy, were we wrong!! The check in took hours, food choices are limited, drinks are difficult to get, rooms are old and rickety, cleaning is so poor. Room service meant just straightening the sheets on the terrible mattress/beds. It was a disappointment and has put me off returning to Tunisia 🙁
The atmosphere was great at the hotel, especially with the animation team. I really loved the time with the girl Animatrice Habiba ben Salah . She is very nice and lovable.
The stuff was great.Habiba animator lovely girl 10/10.I would recomend everybody to visit hotel.Peacefull and welcoming♥️
Where to begin we arrived at this hotel on Monday the 14th July 2025 we was told to hang around in the lobby for nearly 3 by the 3 rude receptionist because our room was not ready till 2pm we then changed rooms 5 times after refusing what they tried to give us the balcony was hanging off the first the second had a bed propped up on odd bits of metal it was disgustingly dirty broken toilet ,broken ac,in others the list goes on the room we eventually accepted was crawling with ants & had 2 bed we had to push together to sleep our family of 4 no fridge as advertised We spent a lot of money while on this holiday having to buy drinks & snacks as we were either charged at the bar or given a tiny soft drink in a paper cup some of the serving staff & lifeguards were lovely & tried there best but the food was not to our taste fish every night & we really struggled to find anything my children would eat age 5 & 14 meaning we had to eat out (hard rock cafe was excellent) we were definitely in the minority as English & although it couldn’t be helped the hotel caters better for other ethnicities (who were rude & would simply push past you to get to food) the animation team really didn’t include English & evening entertainment was also not something we could really get involved in there was lots of refurbishment going on & at some stage my 5 year old got covered in paint the views from our last balcony was trees and a million cigarette ends all over the floor my husbands wrist band kept coming off so he went to reception to ask for a new one they took his old 1 and stapled it to our keys see picI wish I had believed the reviews I thought people were being harsh they are definitely true my advice would be to avoid & go elsewhere we have had some lovely holidays in Tunisia previously but after this we will return
أسوأ فندق رحتلو في حياتي
⭐ Honest Review – You Get What You Pay For Stayed: 3rd July – 1 week I stayed at El Mouradi Port El Kantaoui for one week, and to be completely honest – you get what you pay for. This hotel has serious problems that really need to be addressed. Here's my experience: 🏨 Arrival & Reception Reception looked OK at first glance, but the air conditioning was barely working — it was running at a very low setting, making it stuffy and uncomfortable. Check-in was fine, but the general vibe of the hotel already felt old and neglected. 🛏️ Rooms & Cleanliness The hallways have ancient carpets that look like they've been there for decades. I only saw a hoover once the entire week — no sign of daily cleaning. The rooms were very dated and worn — with the same old carpet, loose light fittings, and a bathtub with cut-out holes from previous repairs. The air conditioning in the room was practically useless. It’s a fixed vent above the door with no way to control it — barely any airflow at all. 📶 Internet & Facilities No Wi-Fi in the rooms whatsoever, and it’s not even an option to pay for. Wi-Fi in reception was slow, overcrowded, and often unusable. 🍽️ Food & Drink The food was truly awful. I’m not a fussy eater, but every meal was bland, badly prepared, and lacked even the most basic seasoning. Breakfast was so bad that I often just had a slice of bread and coffee — the only semi-edible option. The 4pm snacks were flavourless pastries — dry and tasteless. The beach snack bar offered pizzas that were just as bad — bland dough, flavourless sauce, and zero seasoning. There’s no juice on tap (font) anywhere in the hotel. Everything is poured from bottles, and often those bottles weren’t even freshly opened, so the drinks were flat and stale. Totally unacceptable. Overall, the drinks and food were just depressing — not made with care or pride. 🚨 Hygiene & Health Concerns I ended up with diarrhoea for 4 days, with severe cramps and stomach pain. I’m convinced it was from the food — and other guests reported the same thing. Whether it was due to poor fridge temperatures, cross-contamination, or improper food handling, it made me anxious to eat anything by the end. Preparing food safely and with care is not difficult — but there was zero attention to this here. 💸 Atmosphere & Extra Costs The whole hotel feels like it's just coasting by — no passion, no effort, no pride. Around the pool area, you're constantly hassled by vendors selling jewellery or pirate ship rides, claiming it’s "only £40–£60". Do they think everyone from the UK is loaded? I also heard poor feedback from other guests about the hammam — overpriced and disappointing. It felt like a constant effort to upsell or squeeze money out of guests, and not in a respectful way. ☀️ The Positives The weather was beautiful the entire week. Some of the staff were kind and clearly trying their best despite the poor working conditions — they deserve more respect and support. Final Thoughts I wasn’t angry — I was just really disappointed. This was my first time in Tunisia, and unfortunately it left a poor impression. If I worked at this hotel, I’d be mortified to see reviews like this. The hotel needs a complete overhaul — from management to kitchen hygiene. It’s not fair on paying guests, and it’s not fair on the staff who are doing their best for very little. If no major changes are made, this place should not be open to guests.
the place is run down and smelly cleaners are for show only we had to bribe cleaner to actually clean room after moving 3 times not enough towels run down and dangerous bathroom wifi is in the lobby only and not reliable this is the short version never again
We arrived late evening at the hotel, we went up to our room and the key wasn't working, we had to wait for someone to open the door for us. The next day, again, we had to ask maintenance to fix our door, turns out there was a little trick to open the door. The room was ok, with a small fridge, air conditioning was working, you can't change the temperature but it keeps the room cool. Spacious rooms, small TV, and a big wardrobe. The bathroom was outdated, the shower felt old and was coming off the wall, but it was ok. Rooms cleaned and towels changed daily. We had a balcony which was nice. Also got a fresh bottle of water everyday. Any extra bottles of water are 1 dinnar from the bar. We booked all inclusive so we ate at the buffee restaurant. The food was ok. Breakfast wasn't for us. Lunch and dinner options were ok. Pretty much the same things over and over again. The desserts were nice. There are water and juice machines around the restaurant. We got bored of the buffet and ate at the pizza restaurant. The service was amazing. Everyone was very friendly. Staff by the pool kept offering us drinks. They look after you if you tip them. The pools were really nice, plenty of space and lots of sunbeds. Beach is also really nice. Beach towels need a deposit of 20 Dinars and sun beds by the beach are 2 Dinars. You have a cash machine and a money exchange at reception. Overall it was a nice holiday, we enjoyed our time and the staff were really nice. But the food and room lacked a little bit. We also didn't get any wifi in our room, only in the lounge areas.
A nice stay, our first time in Tunisia and reading some reviews, were a bit sceptical. The grounds inside and out are kept very clean, albeit it is tired in places and could use a refurb. The location is fantastic, right on the beach, with a beach bar for a beer or soft drink. You can also have some lunch there buffet style as well as fresh made pizza from half 12. The sand on the beach is super soft, however, there are quite a lot of jelly fish so beware! Heard quite a few screams during our trip. Plenty watersports activities if you like that sort of thing, go down the beach ( turn right and walk a couple mins) and you will get much cheaper prices for these. Food was plentiful with a huge emphasis on seafood- it is right on the coast. Different options at each lunch and dinner time, didn't try anything I disliked. We were there it was very busy first couple of days and the buffet restaurant was chaos- many folks and very little manners. This however is no fault of the hotel, just the clientele at the time. It settled down after those initial days and was fine ( after June 24th). Waiting staff are all so friendly, looking after you at your table with drinks and chat. Note- tip them, they deserve it! Drinks in the all inclusive are limited on spirits- vodka/whisky/rum/gin plus you have beer and wine. A little disappointed the pool bar was not open as this would have been handier during the daytime by the pool. There are two large pools with a sectioned off part for the kiddies. The pool was very clean and lifeguards on duty all day. If you want a sunbed or to pick your space, I'd suggest getting down around 6am. The same applies to the beach, be early if you want a bed- there is no charge for them. Animation team were fantastic and energetic, plenty of daytime activities and some entertainment in the evening. The Tunisian show in particular was excellent. A special mention to Helmi from animation who welcomed our family, got us involved in a lot and generally made us feel special. A true star! Evening time, you can have table service or go to bar yourself, again, tip the guys that are looking after you. A wee 10 dinar every couple of rounds for someone serving you is buttons. Outside of the hotel is very cheap to eat and the quality was always excellent. The hard rock café is only a 5 minute walk away and is a fantastic venue. We were at the opening night of their new outdoor arena with full stage and live music- would definitely recommend. For eating out. Try the Formulae cafe, it's a 10 minute walk away and the food is amazing and very cheap indeed. If you fancy a boat trip, walk down to the harbour and get it there, we got all 3 of us on a pirate boat trip for £25 total whereas the rep in the hotel was wanting £60 per head!!! To summarise, the hotel location and in particular the staff are what makes this place, they are wonderful. Go with an open mind and enjoy the place. If you're looking for something to be negative about, you will always find something- wherever you go. It's not expensive to holiday here but it was definitely value for that money.
It was the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. On arrival we noticed our room had not even been cleaned. The shower was absolutely disgusting and had not been cleaned from the previous people. the carpet was filthy with numerous stains and our room had cockroaches. We had to continuously ask for a fridge which was in the room description but when given the fridge did not even work. Could not even go into the restaurant as the smell of fish was extremely strong not suitable for people with fish allergies.
Absolutely vile place ran down dirty nothing for children or even adults to eat! No ice-cream or ice lollies to keep kids hydrated disgusting juice can't even get cold water! Carpets through out whole building absolutely filthy and stinking nothing outside of hotel apart from derelict buildings! The whole place is only what I can describe as a scene from the walking dead! All restaurant staff are rude animation and bar staff ran off their feet! No WiFi unless sat in lobby with 152526 others trying to connect! Food was absolutely disgusting fish and curry for breakfast lunch and tea! My 5 year old son has to live off water melon that was only available twice a day! I would rather holiday in CHERNOBYL!!!!! If It hadn't of already cost us £1500 then an extra £55 at the hotel on top of tourist tax! Then we would of flew home the very next day! IM NEVER ONE TO WRITE REVIEWS AND IM ALWAYS ONE TO IGNORE BAD REVIEWS AND TRY MYSELF PLEASEEEEE DONT DO THAT HERE!!
Just returned from this hotel and unfortunately I have to agree with Sharon, dirty rooms smelly and dated. None of the food was labelled so you didn't know what you was eating it wasn't great either. The hotel needs to close down and have a full refurb. I only left 2 stars because most of the staff were friendly. If you are struggling with the food you might want to try the hard rock cafe which is located about 5 minutes down the road or you can download glovo which will deliver food to your hotel which possibly saved me from starvation. 😁
Do not visit this hotel just back from 1 week there the hotel rooms are disgusting there is carpets in the hotel which are very smelly and dirty. The rooms are dated damaged poor cleaning in need of total renovation. The food was awful travelled with 2 kids 11/10 not options for kids. Also no we’re near enough food for the amount of people in hotel it was like feeding time at the zoo. This hotel doesn’t even deserve 1 star rating in my opinion. Almost every sun lounger was broken seen 3 people fall through them in space of 1 week. The toilets around pool and in reception were always dirty and very low on toilet paper I would not recommend this hotel to anyone it’s a disgrace !!!
Last night at this hotel we got moved to a disgusting filthy room and then complained and they moved us to a better room for a fee of £30 each Advertised that there is several bars but there isn’t there is a beach bar that sells non-alcoholic drinks and a lobby bar There is one restaurant which is the buffet restaurant we asked about the Ala Carte restaurant and they said no it is only the buffet restaurant If you are booked to go here, I will change your hotel. We are presently at this hotel and cannot wait to go home.
My honest review... you get what you pay for. Having stayed at a 5* resort earlier in the year we were dubious what to expect. But overall a fairly decent relaxing break away for cost. But you can't compare, this hotel is OK for price. Definitely get your photo of the special tree! Rooms Hotel very dated and all rooms and all areas need renovating. Carpets need hoovering and balconies swept. Sometimes beds not made up, although clean linen and towels daily. Tv with couple of English channels. Some rooms had no fridge Very basic but manageable. No hairdryers, iron service only, no tea coffee facilities. You can hire hairdryer 50 Dinar. We stayed room 75 which overlooks pool and stage at a distance but also gets the last of the days sun, ideal for a final chill. Bars 1 main bar, cocktails, beer, water, soft drinks, coffee and cake 4pm. Some staff very nice, some not so much, unless you constantly tipping. Kaled waiter at main bar is exceptional and speaks excellent English. Suggest take your own thermal cup as water cups and same for coffee are tiny. Beer very weak, but can buy Becks 8 Dinar (£2) bottled water available free of charge after 10.30pm, but you can buy for 1 Dinar (25p) Pools Again some maintenance required. But 2 big pools which meant not so crowded which was excellent. And kids pools with small slides. Pool men and lifeguards all very friendly. But some cheeky for tips. Sadly pool bar not open but waiter service so made up for it. Suggest take your own cups, mugs or beakers etc as theirs very small and they happy to fill your own. Beach 2 sections with umbrellas and loungers free of charge. Get there early. Beach bar serves beer, coffee, water and soft drinks. Also water station. Pizzas, salad, potatoes and veg served lunchtime. Sadly sea full of jellyfish and dead lying on beach so didn't venture into the sea. Water aerobics daily with music. Also locals walking up and down selling fruit, clothes, cigarettes and more. Animation team very friendly, especially Mohammed. Options to play games such as darts, bowls, archery, volleyball etc and daily zumba, aquafit and water polo, all good fun. Didn't watch the shows but that was personal preference and stage too small for size of area. WiFi only available at hotel reception and that still dips in and out. Spa Sahbi lovely man, had a Hammam treatment for 150 Dinar for full 1.5 hour treatment, very good and well worth a visit. No hairdressers although Sahbi managed to get a lady from sister hotel to come one day for me. Shop Sells everything you need, including ice creams, crisps, chocolate, shirts, caps, water floats etc. All reasonable. You can also buy jewellery or perfume in the hotel lobby. There is a cash machine and a change guy also in lobby. Restaurants Here is where the problem lies!!! Foreigners (many locals and Algerians) push in and are rude. They also waste ridiculous amounts of food which makes you feel sick to the stomach 😒 weekends are worse. The food is tasty but very repetitive. Not much choice for English children in particular, do not even have ice cream. Salads, pastas, beef, chicken, fish, potatoes, soups, bread, cakes, melon etc. However the staff are fabulous in particular Emile and Ali who made our day and kept our table breakfast and lunch and nothing was too much trouble, they worked very hard. Breakfast omelette and pancakes cooked fresh. Cake served at main bar 4pm daily, nice but once again no one queues! We also were invited to a Gala dinner, same food as buffet but nice and pleasant being served with live music. Hard Rock cafe Absolutely fabulous!! Just a short walk from hotel, although you can take a horse and cart which was very nice just 5 Dinar each, £1.25. Alternatively a taxi is a short drive. brilliant food, service and drinks... in particular happy hour 8pm to 10pm!! Music on half the week. We visited twice and best night's of our holiday. This hotel is def a 3* and needs desperately updating. Would we return? Possibly if looking for a cheap cheeky trip away. Early mornings and early nights. Kelly family of 3 adults
My daughter and I stayed in your hotel from 6th - 13th June. Firstly, I would like to say thank you for the hospitality in such a wonderful location. White sand... clear sea... very accessible! Compliments to the chef, our waiters, bar and cleaning staff. Unfortunately, some of the male guests were a little over friendly when trying to get our attention which did get irritating at times! That being said, we are looking to return - staff such as Ahmed Mhiri in particular, went above and beyond trying to make sure our stay was comfortable. Professional yet warm, he is a real asset to the hotel. The shop keepers were also delightful and helpful and "Picasso" also made us feel very welcome.
Lovely holiday staff lovely food very nice cleaning staff were very good. Only thing I would say don’t buy the perfume in the hotel I paid more than double price for a bottle of perfume I could get from Amazon a lot cheaper also the jewellery is a rip off too
Excellent service, very clean welcoming atmosphere, staff where fantastic. Food & drinks very reasonable. Gardens are really well kept. Great stage for live entertainment for a small venue it's excellent lighting and sound is superb, being an ex DJ I would love to play in this venue. Thanks to DJO and his staff for a great afternoon 😀
El mouradi port el kantaoui was definitely not a four star hotel in looks. The rooms were dated and could do with a good renovation. The paint outside could also do with freshening up on the woodwork. HOWEVER!!! Rooms were always clean and tidy and housekeeping always kept on top of the cleaning. Staff were very helpful and friendly and animations team went above and beyond! It was definitely the people here that made the holiday. If you are looking for cheap and cheerful this is definitely for you. The food was amazing; especially the swordfish. Again if you are British and looking for simple British food this definitely isn’t for you. It has lots of variety but from a lot of other cultures. The beach was also amazing. Would I come here again? Yes most definitely 😁 my experience here was definitely positive and like I said, it’s definitely the people that make it. There was a wide selection of people here from all over Europe and further which was really nice- again very friendly. Thank you el mouradi for our amazing stay!! You can also walk all the way down the beach to the port- the hotel further down also sell their trips cheaper so make sure you shop around if you are thinking of going on the quad trips etc
Not that much as advertised, the animation team don't like Algerian. Misleading information on reservation and the DJ is racist against Algerian. If you have double nationality don't make your reservation with an Arabic passport. The last time in that hotel .
We had a wonderful time visiting Port El Kantaoui, a charming marina area that perfectly blends relaxation, shopping, and local culture. The marina itself is picturesque, with beautiful yachts, palm-lined walkways, and a peaceful seaside atmosphere that makes it perfect for a leisurely stroll or a coffee by the water. The nearby market was also a highlight , a vibrant and colorful spot where you can find everything from souvenirs and crafts to local products. Prices were very reasonable, and with a little bargaining, you can get some great deals. It’s a lovely place to spend a few hours, whether you're browsing the shops, enjoying a meal, or just soaking in the views. The area felt safe and welcoming, and the overall experience was both enjoyable and budget-friendly. Highly recommended if you're in the area , great for families, couples, or solo travelers looking for a relaxed day out.
This hotel is so dirty, broken and disgusting, it looks nothing like advertised. The carpets were stained, food was absolutely rancid and there was very limited options, my room looked as if it was ancient and would fall apart at any moment. We lasted 4 hours before we switched hotel. 0/10 would not recommend going here, listen to everyone else, it's not worth your money.
Safe, great beach, fantastic atmosphere, a lot of water activity nearby, every day shows and games, the staff great and friendly, especially at the reception I come with a request. They work on it in noTime thanks for Ebtsam and all the team.
I surely enjoyed our stay There were few flows but we managed to work round these. No iron No kettle which would have helped to have tea or coffee in the room. Rooms were spacious Staff were amazing esp Inaya in the dining hall, she works hard and very friendly. Main entertainer was very good and kept the spirit Rooms were abit outdated, but clean. Many areas were looking smokey but not sure why. Beach was steps away and staff at the beach were very good to sort out chairs and cushions. Reception staff were good and helpful.
Great hotel, loved everything about it, one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in great people and great food, love this hotel I will be coming back definitely, everything was wonderful and worth every penny. Every night they have different shows on also disco was great.
Worse hotel ever. Reception has a very bad service. Never ever again. A motel here in USA way better than that Hotel
Everything it was amazing good poepel good service specially reception and specially "wael habibi" he very good person and he makes everyone smile and also great service in the bar and animation it was amazing holiday and good people here and good working people
Nice beach and pool. The rest average to poor. Naf breakfast, poor buffet dinner.rooms from 1980s. No wifi.
I had the best time at this hotel. Everyday from the moment I woke up to the moment I went to bed. I made lots of new friends and had a great time. The management was lovely and the entertainment team was the best. The rooms were a good size and were lovely. All in all I had a great time and am coming back soon
El Mouradi Port El Kantaoui has been a heart warming and beautiful experience. ALL staff have been incredibly lovely and so kind to us during our stay. TOP quality and delicious food!!!!! Only downside beach could be cleaner but not affiliated with the hotel. Recommend for everyone, go play pétanque and archery, so much fun! - you’ll meet some great people. Thank you to all the wonderful and beautiful people we got to meet. P.S. needs English breakfast tea (all day)
I don’t know where to start but wow. Once I had read the reviews I thought I may have made a mistake in booking this hotel but please do not be put off by the negativity. We are an easy going couple, we aren’t too interested in the size of the room or the decor of the room due to the fact we’re their to explore, be out of the hotel room and just enjoy ourselves!! On arrival we went to the desk to check in. They put wrist bands on us and told us to go straight to the restaurant, keeping in mine it was after 9pm when we got there. We were seated at a table and honestly felt like royalty. Plate after plate of food god served to our table from every direction to ensure we had eaten! We the. Checked in and got shown two rooms and had the choice. Yes, the rooms did smell a bit but after a day of leaving the balcony door open, that had gone! The rooms are a little dated but again, why come on holiday to just spend your days in the room? The staff could not do enough for us! I needed a safety pin for my dress one evening, not a massive deal but the porter got every free staff member rallying around trying to find me one. There was a lovely waitress called Dalila (I think) and she was the sweetest soul! By the second day we would walk in at breakfast, she would instantly get us our coffees and orange juice and set the table for us, we never expected or asked for this. There was plenty of choice for food, it wasn’t piping hot but they’re playing up and dishing out for however many guests, I didn’t have a complaint about this though!! I would definitely recommend going just out of season if you’re looking for a quieter more relaxed vibe. We met some lovely people there and the staff have time for you! The animation team are what made our holiday!!!! Every day they would come over to us and other couples and families and chat to them, if you have a good sense of humour they will be your best friend!! We were very very sad to leave them and would recommend and advise you on anything! The three young lads will be very very missed and we are now trying our hardest to get back as soon as possible!! Please do not be out off if your are easy going and just want a fun holiday! Please watch out for scammers out of the hotel that will see your band on your wrist and say they work for the hotel, they won’t work for the hotel and then will do something and expect payment or take you to the expensive shops. Once we were told this we got things at a very reasonable price and the animation team worked their magic on anything we wanted to do at a cost which they would pay! One of the best holidays we’ve been on, I even shed a tear when leaving. Thankyou el mouradi port!! We will be seeing you VERY soon. ❤️
First time in Tunisia. Had a relaxing lovely week. Hotel staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The animation team are always smiling and have made the evenings fun. Lovely indoor and outdoor pool and the hotel is right on the beach front. Will be sad to leave.
We had a great experience with this hotel in Tunisia! Although we met some amazing people that we’ll never forgot, we have also got to review the other side of the hotel. Lovely warm welcoming from Habibi, he was such a gem with my son and such a friendly funny person. Food was very different, lots of fish! Some days were better than others, some days there were less options than the rest! Chefs were very kind, especially the younger chefs! Serving staff was kind however over powering with my son, constantly watching him, touching/kissing him & wiping his face/chest whilst he was trying to eat. This stopped him from eating his usual amount of food, he lost his appetite for a few days until the upcoming days when we were due to leave! Bartenders were great, again very friendly and polite! The animation group was ultimately AMAZING! I honestly don’t think I could put into words how funny and great they all were! Constantly creating fun for us to have, they all cared for my son in many ways, especially Iheb, such a kind and generous soul! I want to say a massive thank you to Iheb, Deano & Bahad, we will definitely see you again next year for another 7 days of fun! The overall hotel was very clean, staff always seemed to be making themselves busy! Seemed great at first until you were taken into the hallways/rooms in which I would say seemed quite run down, old carpets, broken fridges, some low shower pressures! We wasn’t looking forward to spending 7 days here until we found our people and the animation team and then 7 days seemed way to short for us! Beach and swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) were all clean, lots of cats about and kittens who had just been born, so sweet! You can definitely see that the manager of this hotel looks after them very well as this one cat follows him around daily in the outdoor area whilst he sweeps! We will definitely be coming back to this hotel as lots of memories were had and we are excited to create some more with our favourite animation group and friends we made here! Without the people we would not be coming back, so thank you everyone who made my sons first holiday one that I will always remember🇹🇳 Courtney & Remy!🩵
It was perfect holiday, it was good service, especially habibi who greeted us was very welcoming and friendly showed us all the things in the hotel we needed very much recommend this hotel. Also the food was at a high standard considering it is only a 4*
Great stay here. Room on the small side but view from balcony made up for that! Clean all round, room cleaned each day and bed remade. Food plenty, variety good. Waiter/waitress attentive and made my birthday celebrations fab with animation team ( a sweet guy who goes by the name Fraanko amongst others)who sang Happy birthday to me in the restaurant and made a cake! Indoor pool clean and warm. Entertainment ok taking into consideration the month. And right on a beautiful beach! Would stay here again.
Outstanding experience.
J'y reviendrais.
This hotel is still great but it’s definitely not as impressive as it was last time I stayed in September of 2022. There’s less food choice in the dining area and no option for all inclusive including alcohol. The facilities are still exceptional along with the staff though.
