Very good
Always a nice stay here. Breakfast never excellent, but sufficient. Friendly people, comfy rooms, great location, good value.
Location great. Room a little tired this time & unfortunately a problem with the kitchen so limited breakfast
Room spotless, staff friendly and helpful.
Ottima posizione, vicino alla stazione degli autobus. Stanza stanza semplice ma confortevole, ottima colazione.
Booked this last minute for a few nights in Rhodes town 2 days before I went. Was one of the few places available at a reasonable price. Usually wouldnt look at a 2 star but glad I did. Better than a 2 star in the UK. Location was perfect and very central with everywhere in easy walking distance - 5 minutes to bus station, 10 minutes to restaurants/beach, 15 minutes to old town and 30 minutes to Rhodes Acropolis. Location was surrounded by shops so no excessive noise at night from bars. Breakfast was plentiful if not some strange options (chips/fries?). The room was very comfortable and the AC was good. As previously noted the air con was not great in the lobby or breakfast area but this did not affect me as I was only there first thing in the morning or last at night. Would gladly stay here again if back in Rhodes. For the facilities and price it is well worth a stay. Only downside was of my own making when I left my phone charger behind.
Hotel Lydia is in a good location and has a great breakfast. However, I wish I had known that the lobby and breakfast room are basically without air-conditioning. There’s a small wall unit in one corner of the large lobby area which was inadequate. We were there in August and really missed that nice feeling when you walk into an air-conditioned hotel on a hot day. While the air conditioning in our room did work well, what a shame we couldn’t enjoy the nice sitting areas throughout the lobby.
Generally our stay at the hotel was good. The location is excellent, very close to the center, making it easy to get around. The room was spacious enough and clean, but there were issues with ants and some outdated furniture that should be addressed. The breakfast was decent (though it could benefit from more variety, especially in terms of cheese and olive options). Overall, we were satisfied, but there's room for improvement.
we couldn't even stay for 1 night, the whole place of the hotel smells old and damp. The room doesn't even have a proper window, it was like we were in the basement. We entered the room, sat down, found a new facility and left. I would definitely say do not sell. Mastery is very expensive compared to the better ones. We have never stayed, we want a refund. I don't understand how you can offer such a hotel.
The location is great for us- in the centre & handy for banks, shops & restaurants. Friendly staff & plenty of choice at breakfast.
Rooms are clean but outdated, small bathroom, balcony overlooking a coffee shop roof, no full length mirror in the room. I wouldn’t choose again.
Very nice hôtel just 1 concern : no parking available
This was lovely place to stay, it was very central, walking distance to the old town, places of interest and shopping district, plenty of restaurants and cafes and bars around. The hotel itself was very clean, nice lobby and breakfast was good. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The room itself was spacious, clean and everything you need was provided, toiletries, hairdryer, etc. the only downside was that the pillows were a bit hard and uncomfortable, but the bed itself seemed to be a king size and was fine. Would definitely stay at this hotel again!
Insects on the floor of the room... Very bad musty smell. Old bath. Breakfast very poor and cheap . Also they charge me the Greek coffee!!!! The staff at breakfast very noisy and annoying. The location is at in the center.
Been here on three trips, loved it, then not so much, now back to thinking it a gem. Staff was courteous , breakfast okay, location about perfect. Nothing sensational here, but everything comfortable and friendly. Good prices, nice stop...
Friendly staff, great location for everyone to do own thing. Good selection of food for breakfast 😋
Great
The hotel is situated in the city center, near close to the beach and shops. Old Town is a 15-minute close away. Strenghts: - location - the hotel is renovated - friendly staff - air conditioning Weaknesses: - we booked two rooms at the same price, but the differences were big, so i asked to change my room (even if the hotel was fully booked, they offered us another room, not as big and equipped as our friends', but better than the first one) - water was flowing next to the shower cabin - the shower cabin was small - towels were changed only once every two days - the initial cleaning was superficial - I received small bottles of shampoo and shower gel only in the first day - I did not receive water in the room at all
The location is very good and in a central place. Very close to Elli Beach in the city centre, Old Town and city bus stop. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The room is big enough. It has a large wardrobe and drawers on either side of the beds. You can fit your belongings comfortably. Sheets and towels are clean. Balcony is also sufficient. While most hotels' showers are only curtained, here's a shower cabin. The breakfast options are more than enough. The bar part looked nice but we didn't hang out there. There are already markets, bars, etc. around. There is also a pharmacy right next to it. By the way, they also help with renting a car. I definitely recommend it.
I checked into hotel friendly welcoming receptionist made to feel welcome, then went to the rooms beautiful nice comfy bed,air conditioning, power shower, large wardrobe space, and fridge cannot fault anything at all, plenty choice for breakfast to from hot to continental nice ambience,so in total I would stay again very happy to great service, plus the chambermaid cleans room every day happy times 😊😊😊🥰🥰🥰
I took a taxi from the Rhodes airport to the hotel. I was told at reception that my room would be ready in an hour. I was told I could leave my suitcase there in the lobby if I wanted to leave during that time. I went around the corner to grab something to eat and came back at which point I was told I could check in. I was put in room 305. The hallways are not air conditioned so they are very stuffy and also very dark. There was a smell of stale smoke. I entered room 305 and began to unpack. As I was unpacking I noticed that the room was very old and run down. It did not look like the room I had reserved on the website. I found several hairs which is my ultimate pet peeve. I turned on the air con and the unit was rattling the entire time. A lamp in the room had what I assume to be mold on the shade. After a few minutes I went to put my money, passport, etc in the safe (again per the website each room has a safe). I could not find it so I went to the phone to call reception to ask where it was. When I reached for the phone I noticed it was very old and had unwrapped wires sticking out of the receiver. When I told reception that I could not find the safe she said that not all rooms have one. I said I would need to be moved to a room with a safe since according to the website I would be provided with one. She said they were full and that I could leave my valuables in the hotel safe downstairs. This is where I started to get frustrated. I was booked for 5 nights at a rate of 101 euros per night. This was not a cheap hotel or a hostel. There was no way I was going to leave my passport, COVID vaccine card, credit cards and over 1,000 dollars in various currencies in a communal safe. I told the receptionist this and said that this was not going to work out for me, not only was the room run down and dirty but there was no safe. I said I was looking online as we spoke for another hotel. At that point another woman came on the phone and told me she would show me another room. This was after being told they were booked solid. I was taken to room 108 and asked if that room would do. It looked a bit less run down and had a safe. At this point I said it was fine because I just wanted to get unpacked and settled. It was also confusing because the room was "non smoking" but there was an ash tray in room 108. That could account for the stale smoke smell in the halls. I was concerned that if I did try to cancel the entire reservation due to the last minute notice I would be charged the full amount. Due to COVID I let them know I did not need housekeeping during my stay. I did run into the very nice cleaning lady in the hall a couple of times and she gave me 2 fresh towels. She let me know if I needed anything to let her know. After three nights I woke up to two small cockroaches in the bathroom. I will say that the location of the hotel is excellent. You can walk to the harbor area in minutes as well as Elli Beach. There are also good restaurants close by. I do see that many people give this hotel a high rating. I do not know if it is because I am a solo traveler they thought they could try to put me in the first room and I wouldn't complain. Perhaps I just had a bad initial experience. I did appreciate them putting me in another room, however, the first room should not have been given to a guest in the state it is in. I would not stay there again.
Rhodes wasn’t on my original island-hopping itinerary, so I booked Lydia Hotel at the last minute after deciding to stay in Rhodes Town for 3 nights. It was a long walk from the ferry port, longer than I’d anticipated (close to 30 minutes, suitcase in tow), but check-in was fast and the room was pretty nice with a modern bathroom, spacious shower and comfortable bed. The location turned out to be ideal: just 20 minutes walk to the ancient ruins to the west and 5-10 minutes to the old town. Elli beach is about 5-10 minutes northeast and there are plenty of shops and tavernas all around. Breakfast was reasonable, though nothing special, the hotel does have a nice terrace where you can eat. Overall, I had a nice stay here and if you’re looking for a decent hotel in a good location for sightseeing, I would recommend it. The only thing stopping it getting 5 stars was the breakfast really.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel in March 2021 (during lockdown) in order for her to undergo an operation at the island's hospital. The hotel itself is ideally situated in the middle of town close to all amenities. The room was clean, spacious and comfy. And for the first time in many years, I found a place where the water is always hot, so you can be confident of a good shower. Although the lockdown meant a restriction in the usual meal/refreshment services, the hotel worked around it very well, and were flexible in their determination to make our stay as stress-free as possible. The staff were friendly and polite, and always keen to help. A most memorable stay.
The premises are excellent and the staff very friendly and willing to help. Although we stayed for 1 night we were treated as long time customers. The only thing that personally didn't like was the small variety of breakfast BUT this I suppose is due to covid.
Very good location with comfortable & clean room . Great breakfast and very helpful staff . To be recommended
Pulizia ottima
Lydia Hotel is a family-run business and this is reflected in the pleasant, welcoming attitude of the staff. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the air-conditioning works well. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of hot and cold food. As always in Greece, the yoghurt was out of this world. Situated 10 minutes' walk from the Old Town, the hotel is in a wonderfully quiet street.
Location super central ! Staff very friendly , Rooms small but really Cosy, shower was huge 😊 Best recommendations! Reception staff was extremely friendly, filled all extra wishes! Simple breakfast, but for the price is totally ok 😊 bed was really comfortable, I slept like a baby ...
all good, stop spamming me with emails expedia. you are annoying
Polite staff, great location, nice rooms, perfect breakfast!
Location, quiet, safely, friendly staff. We stayed at Lydia Hotel every time we visited Rhodes, and this was our 4th time staying at Lydia.
Just an overnight stay, it was comfortable and clean although the room could do with updating. The buffet breakfast was very good. The biggest problem was the parking, took ages to find a parking space in the street.
Literie confortable, climatisation silencieuse. Wifi un peu faible. Petit déjeuner varié mais de qualité moyenne. Bon rapport qualite prix dans l'ensemble.
Your place is very dark there is no day light and your lights was too minimums I am sorry to say this
To start, the hotel is impossible to find, we drove up and down the village for about 40 minutes before we took what looked like a walking path that led to the hotel. Better online directions would definitely avoid travellers anxiety and partner conflict!!! The hotel shows better online but overall it was OK, the room is dated but very large. The view more than makes up for the dated furnishings as it is truly stunning. The breakfast is good if you have no food intolerances, traveling GF is definitely a challenge for breakfast, the pastries looked delicious. The stiff for the most part helpful only one grumpy host when we arrived. Daytime staff more than helpful and willing to assist, even a friendly hello when seen offsite in the village.
Great for a one night stop on route to our Greek island.
Great location and breakfast. Rooms are clean, nothing fancy but perfectly acceptable given the price.
The location, bed, breakfast and the staff were superb!
We had a good stay at Lydia hotel. It was very central which was important.
Overnight Stay on our way to Symi we have used the hotel Lydia several times for this purpose to and from Symi and it is perfect for us it is central to Rhodes close to shops bars and restaurants and is clean and good value. Staff are always very helpful and polite.
Summary: Great location, good price, very pleasant staff. We want to especially point out Maria from the kitchen and Maria from the bar area who were very nice and helpful with our kids (who are a bit noisy and messy). Food was relatively good but very limited selection (good but basic), hotel was very nice but does not have many services. Minibar (water, canned drinks) was well priced - more than local stores but still very reasonable. Positives: Nice room Nice staff Great location we were offered at reception a free phone with internet (did not take in case we break it as there are charges if damaged plus we felt 'free' without a phone for most of the day) Air conditioning Was very quiet in the lobby/dining room Less positive: unfortunately no view in our quadrouple room almost no English TV (although cannot compare to other hotels) Our room had only a shower (bath would have helped with kids) Limited food selection Not many services (although we knew this from the description) - but the location made up for it in our view. Negative: We were able to hear talking clearly from the through the 'childrens room' wall. Luckily they were quiet in the evening but at some points we clearly heard someone talking loudly. Overall for the price and location we had an excellent stay and were happy, just the sound from other room and somewhat limited food selection were the only letdowns.
Deco à l'ancienne. Salle d'eau vraiment minuscule mais rénovée. Partie salon (petit et vieux canapé lit. Taillé pour 1 enfant) en mauvais etat. Bon petit dejeuner.
As always the staff were welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable with a great balcony. Our stay was let down by the pre-booked dinner, which turned out to be a choice of 3 pasta dishes only! When the food came it was only lukewarm and wasn’t great!! We had paid for a dinner but got just a poor one course that we paid far to much for!! The staff were understanding and didn’t charge for the two drinks we had, but still the stay was let down by the meal!!
An overnight stay in Rhodes Town to enjoy a nice meal & drinks in the busy town. Lydia hotel is the perfect location for shopping, harbour area, local bars, restaurants & bank. Parking quite close by. An excellent breakfast too makes it an ideal hotel!
Nice hotel in the city of Rhodos. The first time I stayed there I had a really nice room. Renovated and spacious. Now I had a room old, with a floor that needs fixing the fridge did not work and the bathroom was too small. So I guess the rooms are like a lottery....
Very good value, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, good selection buffet breakfast although some items not hot enough. Overall highly recommended.
Bello ,pulito, posizione ottima per spostarsi a Rodi
Çok temiz otel her yere yürüme mesafesinde
It was very good considering my husband was on crutches. The staff were amazing and most helpful, especially the waitstaff, and reception staff. A big thankyou to everyone who offered a lending hand. Very much appreciated. Regards Kerrie & Chis Hodgson
Modern rooms let down by no in room safe Safety deposit boxes available in lobby
it was like always good :)
Hotel location is in a perfect area for tourists wanting to see the old town and trips out on the boats. It is noisy because of the town but that's part of the reason I stayed to see the lively part of Rhodes and the way the Greeks live :) Big comfortable bed, I had the double but room is only good for sleeping or relaxing on the balcony, bathroom had a good shower and basin... I would stay again, staff where nice and very helpful :)
Great location. Close to everything. Breakfast was very good too.
perfect
we book for 1 night, and we so happy that it was only 1 night and not longer. the ac wasnt cooling and we couldnt sleep in this sauna. the location is good but id recommend you guys to pick other hotel if you wanting to sleep during your vacation
The Lydia hotel is slightly run down -- or at least the common areas and the room allotted to me appeared to be so. That said, the staff were helpful; the location adjacent to the crusader fortress is excellent; and they serve a good breakfast.
Ok hotell som mer motsvarar 3 stjärnor.
NICE STAFF MADE ME FEEL WELCOME AND HELPFUL. I LOVED RHODES THE BEST OF ALL THE ISLANDS I VISITED AND WOULD RECOMMEND TO ALL
Hotel was fine, Staff was very helpful, the only complaint is breakfast was usually luke warm to cold.however it was included in the price.
Breakfast is wonderful with massive choice. Rooms are very clean easy to book online aircon works well. Efficient staff
A great hotel in the centre of town. Friendly helpful staff and a wide choice of breakfast. I would definitely stay here again
Very pleasant stay, comfortable room, friendly staff, excellent buffet breakfast. Highly recommend.
An overnight stay in Rhodes Town- able to enjoy the local bars & restaurants ! A great atmosphere & plenty of chpice in Rhodes Town very close by.
A beautiful hotel to a very low price! Location is in the center of the city, perfect for a shopping vacation! Highly recommanded.
The Lydia is well located in Rhodes close to the University, Old Town, beach and harbour. The hotel staff are friendly and the breakfast included in this very well priced hotel!
Good experience, room is a little tight but clean, quiet, friendly and helpful staff. We always stay at this hotel whenever we visit our family in Rhodes Island and see great improvement after renovation in the past few years.
It's a big hotel and has excellent breakfast. The location is convenient. You can go to some very good restaurants and the wonderful old town by foot. The standard room was alright but the bathroom's very small. If you want to wash your hands, you have to close the bathroom door first, then you can reach the basin.
The hotel position is in the town of Rodos convenient for business and leisure. The bathroom is small for an adult. Breakfast is included in the price and has enough variety. The rooms were cleaned daily and the sheets and towels were changed every two days.
Very good receptionists
We found the Lydia to be above our expectations, given the price we paid. The breakfast was way over the top, with everything perfect.... warm milk for the coffee, freshly fried eggs, many many items. The room was small but perfect; clean, well appointed, good mattress. The room we had, at the back of the hotel faced another hotel on a pedestrian street with few pedestrians. Thus, it was very quiet, aided by the very nice double paned sliding doors. The whole place looked like it had had a recent upgrade. On the downside, the internett didn't reach to our room, the BBC didn't appear on our TV, and the manager tried to charge us 5 euro more than we paid on expedia when we chose to stay another day. I finally had to threaten to go to my room and book another day on expedia before the desk gal relented to the come down to a matching rate. That said, we would book again. The room, the breakfast, the location..... all perfect.
Good for ferries from Rhodes to the islands.
No polite staff, lack of understanding, acceptable location with bad management, worse hotel in Rhodes.
The hotel is nothing special but the location couldn't be better. It's in the middle of the pretty new town of Rhodes within easy walking distance of sights, beach, bus stop, shops and restaurants. Even though it's in the middle of town it's actually fairly quiet. The hotel advertises free wifi but it wasn't much use in the room we were in (very slow - faded in and out). The breakfast is good. Staff don't seem to like their job very much (which I symathise with but then again...). We spent a week there which was plenty to see much of Rhodes.
Short overnight stay very convenient. Will use again.
Very clean, very central. Very good price and excellent value for money. Room was not very big but bathroom was very spacious. Bed was extremely comfortable which was very important for our relaxing getaway.
Hotel was as expected. Room was clean and tidy. Staff was excellent. Breakfast was very good. Stayed for a week and the location was great.
We were two couples renting the top apartment. It was recently renovated and clean and had a huge rooftop seating area with lounge chairs for sun bathing. The rooms were nice, but the second bedroom didn't have any windows, and the air conditioning was broken in the first bedroom and there were no screens on the window so we spent most of the night slapping Mosquitos. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and breakfast was pretty good too. Location is superb, with easy walk ability to the beach (3 blocks) and the sights in Rhodes town.
For the price this hotel offers good value.Convenient for the old town and for catching ferries to the islands.
Great location. Near old and new towns and the Breakkfast was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful with non Greek speakers.
Good for short stays en-route to Islands, while waiting for ferries or flights, good breakfast.
