Hosteria Puerto San Julian

El baño estaba sucio, no lo habían limpiado. Si bien, se lo comentamos y pasaron a realizar la limpieza. Nuestra habitación estaba en el hall de entrada, al lado del comedor, zona de desayunos y recepción, lo que implicaba que nos despertaran a las 6 am los ruidos de la cocina y comedor. Además, permiten que otros huéspedes estén en esa zona hasta tarde en la noche lo que impide el descanso. Sucedió que unos huéspedes estaban haciendo mucho ruido en el hall, nos quejamos en recepción y no lo solucionaron. No está en el centro de la ciudad, tienes que caminar unos 20 minutos hasta llegar, lo que se hace bastante cansado y pesado después de día de tours. En definitiva, nuestra estancia no fue nada buena, tanto por la falta de limpieza como por la ubicación de la habitación y los ruidos.

La atención de Constanza y del personal en general fue excelente. Siempre muy amables y serviciales. Disponibilidad, ayuda y asesoramiento 10 puntos. Los baños se aprecian recientemente remodelados. Todo funciona OK.

desayuno cumple relación precio calidad. Destacar la atención del señor que fue muy agradable, preocupado y servicial en todo momento .

Podrían tener oferta de excursiones en el mismo lugar, y tener ejemplo cenas para los que llegamos tarde :)..

A la habitación le faltan espacios para ubicar las maletas y percheros para colgar toallas.

La habitación estaba cómoda para una familia de 4 personas, la atención del personal y está ubicado a unas pocas calles de la avenida principal. También la flexibilidad del horario para tomar el desayuno.

Estuvimos 5 días y siempre el mismo desayuno, así que por ser muchos días nos hubiera gustado algo diferente. Las almohadas no estaban confortables, pero pedimos unas adicionales y nos las dieron sin problema.

La proximité du centre ville et proche de très bons restaurants. L’accueil de la personne qui prépare les petits déjeuners, très sympathique comme l’ensemble des personnes de l’hôte

O hotel é bem localizado, fica próximo do centro, uns 10 minutos caminhando. Tem um morro pra subir/descer, mas não nos incomodou/atrapalhou em nada. Alugamos um carro e deixamos no estacionamento do hotel, que não é coberto. O hotel é bem limpo, o quarto era limpo diariamente. A cama muito boa e tem cortina blackout. Tem frigobar no quarto. O café da manhã é simples, mas tem pão, bolo, café, chá, leite, queijo, presunto. Equipe prestativa. Solicitei um secador de cabelo e me foi emprestado um. No geral foi uma ótima estadia, voltaria a me hospedar

Esta a 20 min caminando al pueblo por un m trecho no había vereda pero después de todos los tours podía quedarte en el centro y solo regresar caminando.. estuvo bien si no tienes problemas con caminar

Very kind owner and great breakfast spread. Walkable distance to bus terminal and I was able to leave my luggage when I went for overnight trip to el calafate.

Noisy room on the ground floor - no noise insulation but that is to be expected.

A minha estadia foi ótima, é um local limpo e confortável. Os funcionários são super atenciosos, solícitos e dão dicas do que fazer pela cidade. Recomendo!

The room is quite small and mattresses for single beds seem to be made of light foam. Not super comfortable and the pillow is super flat. The walls are paper thin too. Breakfast was sub-par. We had a better breakfast at another b&b of similar price.

Llegamos al lugar y estaba cerrado, no hubo la cortesía de avisar del cambio de lugar. Había un cartel indicando que debíamos ir a otra hostelería, cuando ya el taxi que nos trajo desde el aeropuerto se había ido. Este nuevo hospedaje en general fue un buen lugar. Me parece inaceptable no avisar existiendo tantos medios para hacerlo.

It's a very cozy hotel and very caring staffs.

Breakfast spread was very basic. They should have some minimum dinner facilities as restaurants nearby are not easily approachable during bad weather.

WIFI and electrical outlets were not great. The charging of phones and computers went very slowly. WIFI in the rooms was nonexistent

This hotel is a nice inexpensive option for a room that we needed to stay at for 1 night as we had traveled from El Chalten after hiking Fitz Roy. Staff was really helpful with check-in and everything we needed. Even offered to help carry luggage upstairs. Hotel is not really downtown and requires a car to go out to eat etc (5 minutes drive). The night we stayed it was really windy and we could hear the wind howling around our bathroom window. No worries, as we were really tired and slept through the wind. Hotel had a nice simple breakfast laid out when we took our luggage down the stairs (no elevator). We did not eat breakfast as we were headed to the airport, but it looked to be fairly good. If you have a car you can easily get to downtown, but if not you will need transportation to eat or shop in the downtown area. For our purposes the hotel was an excellent economical option.

Breakfast was good (gluten free choices too) and the room was clean

The room needed a refresh and some repairs, like the doors did not work well.

Nice quiet property. Was able to check in a touch early which was nice and leave bags the second day. Breakfast was a large buffet with lots of options. Owner was extremely helpful. Close walk to bus station

We stayed here 3 nights (1+2) during our Patagonia trip. The place is quite nice and clean. They had very thin bad pillows though. Offered a decent breakfast too.

The people were very nice and helpful. The room was big and clean. Breakfast was good. The location is 10 to 15 minutes walk from the town center.

This is not fit for humans I understand that this is a HOSTAL not HOTEL even then there are basic things that must be provided. Let me lay out the problems and I’ve posted pics and video - The roof had a huge patch of mildew right above the headboard of the bed. The woman Ingrid said they were full and couldn’t do anything about it - The doorknob and lock seemed it could come off with one jerk - The shower curtain was loose almost about to come off - They couldn’t even print my boarding card for me at the reception This is too dirty and inefficient. I’m not sure how they are getting high marks

This was the least favorite of the all hotels we stayed in on our trip, but on the positive side we found the desk staff to be extremely helpful and kind. The hotel is very basic. The photos on Tripadvisor make it look really good but in real life the place is on the edge of shabby. We like simplicity but the rooms are spartan. Little conveniences are missing - like a shelf in the bathroom, a large mirror in the room and a bench for a suitcase. Things like this, that are standard in other hotels, are forgotten here. It has a motel feel. Sounds echo across the hotel and you can hear even normal level conversations. The breakfast is also basic because the kitchen is tiny. There is a steep downhill/uphill walk to the center of town. On the upside, the rooms are clean, the bed is comfortable and the staff is very helpful. It's a decent enough place but completely unremarkable in every way. If I return to El Calafate I would stay elsewhere.

We loved the hotel. Location is very convenient, 10 min walk to the city center. Martin was a really great host, he went beyond our expectations and helped us a lot. We really enjoyed our time in this hotel.

Very near town 10 minute, returning is uphill. Unless you take the wrong turning like i did on my first. Pleasant and clean, wifi and computer available. Great breakfast puts other higher categories to shame. Great for solos travellers too. Gracias por todo Martin

Pleasant simple hotel between the bus station and the town. Room was comfortable and budget friendly, and showers were great. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would stay here again if travelling through short term :)

Puerto San Julian was OK and good return for the price. It is a very simple place but the room was big and convenient. Breakfast was pretty lousy, WiFi service was good. Walkable distance from the town center.

what an incredible value for money! fantastic service and great price. really recommended. wifi was not amazing in the room but OK elsewhere, good breakfast and close to town centre (15m walk / 3m drive)

Staff were very welcoming and attentive. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the new bus station and about 5-10 minutes walking to the main street in town. Refrigerator in room was a good touch. WiFi worked well in the room. Breakfast was available at 6:30 a.m. which was great if you are planning an early day trip. Room was spacious, clean and quiet. Everything exceeded our expectations. Very happy with our stay.

Great boutique hotel with exceptional staff and service. The hotel is located less than 10 minutes walk from the main street, and about 10 minutes walk from the bus terminal. Setting is quiet and peaceful. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and went above-and-beyond to make my stay comfortable.

Great stay in El Calafate!

We were not expecting much when we booked given the price and the old CRT looking TV in the picture. We thought it was worthwhile tradeoff between price and that it was just an overnight stop over. We were pleasantly surprised though. We got a corner room with a little balcony. The room itself was huge and so was the bathroom. The free breakfast was simple. The staff spoke good English. They stored our luggage while we went for a half day trip to the glacier. It is a bit outside of the central part of town on the hill. We usually walk everywhere when we travel so it was not a problem for us. I would stay here again. Also, the TV is a flat screen, and the room had a mini-fridge.

Overall, we had a good experience with the hostel. The room was clean. The breakfast spread was decent. The place is near the bus station but not in the center of town -- but we knew this when we booked the place, and it is still within a reasonable walking distance to the center of town. There was an issue with the room rate but it got sorted out the next day when the regular desk person came (she spoke English while the night desk person did not). Our stay was pleasant.

Very basic accommodation that is reasonably priced with friendly and helpful staff. Good place to crash for a night or two but would look elsewhere for a longer stay. 15 minute walk into town and not much around the hotel, aside from the Esquina Varela restaurant which is a solid spot.

Staff helpful and bilingual. WiFi only in the foyer. The room was clean. The hotel is situated a15 minutes walk from the center, but there are two restaurants nearby if you don't want to get out in the evening. The breakfast is good.

Hostería Puerto San Julián is a small and unexpensive hotel, located a bit on the edge of El Calafate, but it's only a 10 minutes walk to the city center. There are several restaurants in the neighborhood, so it's not necessary to leave the area to eat. The breakfast offered is good and varied. Our room had 4 twin beds. The heater was set a bit high and we had to sleep with a window open. The beds were on the hard side and the pillows were small.

Nice and clean hotel. A bit hot but was able to open the window. Don't expect strong WiFi signal unless you're in a room near the front desk... and then you will hear some noise. Overall decent place.

The wifi doesn't work in the room, and sometimes didn't work in the lobby. It's several blocks from the town and half of the way with out sidewalks

Very nice hotel with great service and good morning coffee. It is near the city center, but you would have to consider the hill one must walk upon the way back to the hotel.

Hosteria Puerto San Julian is a brilliant choice when staying in Calafate. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, the rooms always clean and tidy and it is only 5 minutes from the center. It was a great stay specially because it is really welcoming, the staff is more than happy to help us out in what we needed & the hostel itself is really confortable. If I'm ever again in Calafate, I will for sure return to this hosteria.

I would highly recommend this hosteria in el calafate! It is small enough to give you personal attention, but without being intrusive. Gaston and the other staff at the hotel are extremely obliging and helpful - nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfast is served continental style, is fresh and the dining area homely and bright. Rooms are modern and very neat and clean with modern bathroom facilities. A nice touch is the free internet access in the reception area. Overall a wonderful experience - thank you!
