Reviewed Sep 17, 2026Definitely it was one of the best hostels I've ever stayed. The great structure, large room, bathroom and toilet inside the room, lovely staff, location 5 min by walking to the metro station, silence, the room temperature was really nice, shower warm and working properly, cleaning processes well done. My experience was amazing and when I get back to Barcelona I'll stay in Pere Tarrés Hostel again for sure.
I breakfast is too simple, if only they offered at least eggs as a protein source it would be amazing improving a 300% the breakfast's quality.

The 'welcome' I got on arrival wasn't friendly. In fact, I experienced more than one chilly interaction, with different staff members ... not outright rude, but they seemed annoyed, as if they were right on the verge of rolling their eyes.

Reviewed Sep 12, 2026I did like mainly the location, the staff is very friendly and try really hard to satisfy your needs.
The included breakfast is very basic, fruits, juices, bread, cereal, no eggs, no bacon or sausage. Although they do offer breakfast to go if your flight is before they open the lounge at around 7:30 but it isn't the same items you can have if you eat in the hostel.

C'est l'usine, ça grouille de monde. Une auberge glauque et interlope comme on en redoute. Le matériel est très vétuste et sans âme. Le personnel n'est pas serviable et est mal-aimable. Un homme dans mon dortoir a volé le shampooing d'un autre. La dame à l'accueil m'a dit de me résigner parce que ça faisait partie de la vie d'un dortoir. Le lendemain, insatisfait de cette réponse fataliste, j'ai demandé à changer de chambre jusqu'à ce que le voleur parte. J'ai donc séjourné dans la nouvelle chambre pendant deux jours. Ce délai passé, l'homme à l'accueil et à la coupe mulet m'a dit de rester dans cette chambre. 10 minutes après, il est venu dans la chambre pour me dire qu'il avait changé d'avis et que je devais la quitter. Je suis donc revenu dans la chambre initiale et le voleur était toujours là (un arbre). Le réceptionniste désagréable en tout point n'a pas voulu faire quoi que ce soit et affichait une mine aussi peu avenante que son attitude. Ils ne sourient pas, vous parlent mal, perçoivent les clients comme des enquiquineurs alors que nous payons. Ils donnent l'impression de faire le strict minimum et d'attendre simplement que leur journée se termine. Le personnel donne l'impression de détester ses clients et le fait savoir. Personnel odieux, auberge à fuir. Les recoins des chambres ne sont pas nettoyés. J'ai signalé l'auberge à la mairie et à la police concernant les conditions de sécurité des biens de la clientèle. Le Wifi est sans Internet. La cantinière insulte les clients en espagnol quand ils oublient leurs tickets de petit-déjeuner. Les lits sont trop petits pour ceux qui mesurent plus d'1m80. L'auberge est située très à l'arrière de Barcelone, loin de tout. La couverture se réduit à un drap très fin.

I strongly advise against staying at this hostel. We booked a half-board rate, but the property completely refused to provide our prepaid dinner, forcing us to spend extra money out of pocket for food elsewhere. The room conditions were appalling: the bed linens were heavily stained, and a broken A/C emitted a toxic, pungent chemical smell of paint, making it impossible to breathe. The final straw was breakfast — complete lack of basic hygiene, there weren't even forks or basic cutlery available, and the environment was an absolute health hazard. We paid for a service we couldn't safely use and had to deal with total indifference from the staff. Avoid this place at all costs!

There were no curtains on the beds in doorms.

Grandes gavetas com possibilidade de trancar utilizando o cartão de acesso ao quarto, óptimo para deixar os pertences guardados de forma segura.
Casas de banho no dormitório pouco práticas, sem espaço para pendurar toalhas de forma individual. Luzes muito fortes, e camas sem cortinas o que impede um bom descanso. As camas não são propriamente confortáveis. Muito calor no quarto, sem ar condicionado.

Disappointing Stay — Poor Facilities and Unhelpful Staff Unfortunately, my stay was quite disappointing. Room The rooms felt more like an old dormitory than a proper hostel. I stayed in university dormitories in my student years that were actually in much better condition. The facilities were outdated, and the air conditioning could only be switched on or off — there was no way to adjust the temperature. When it was running, it was also extremely noisy. **Roommates:** Most of the people staying there did not seem to be travelers. They appeared to be workers staying for long periods. Towels and personal belongings were left everywhere, which made the shared spaces feel uncomfortable and messy. **Bathroom & Shower:** The bathroom was dirty and crowded with people's belongings. The shower was particularly frustrating because it had a timer that stopped the water every few seconds, meaning you had to constantly press the button/pump to keep the water running. This made taking a shower unnecessarily stressful and uncomfortable. **Staff:** My experience with the staff was also disappointing. Breakfast officially starts at 7:30 AM. At around 7:25 AM, I was trying to get an espresso from the machine because I was rushing to the airport and didn't have time to have breakfast. A staff member rudely stopped me and would not listen when I tried to explain the situation in Spanish. Overall, I expected a much better experience. The outdated facilities, noisy air conditioning, uncomfortable shower system, cleanliness issues, and unfriendly staff made my stay unpleasant. I would not choose to stay here again this place overall changed my mind about staing in hostels in future

Ci sarebbe bisogno di un po’ più di cura nei piccoli dettagli, piccoli ritocchi e aggiustamenti nelle stanze. Comunque nel complesso bene.

Reviewed Sep 2, 2026The rooms were clean, the bathroom was inside the rooms, the lockers would close and open with your card. Also, it had a big kitchen with enough space for everyone! If you arrive earlier than check-in time they let you leave you luggage and go explore the city!

Reviewed Aug 31, 2026The check-in process was quick and smooth. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, and the breakfast was quite good, with around 8–9 different buffet options including cheese, salami, granola and various drinks. There is also a shopping mall nearby, which was convenient.
I chose this hostel because of its high rating, but unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The rooms are extremely small, with four bunk beds for eight people, and there was barely enough space to breathe when we first arrived. The room felt very stuffy, and we only went there to sleep, which was still an unpleasant experience. The beds were uncomfortable and there was almost no personal space—you really feel like you are sleeping in a prison bunk. If you have asthma or are sensitive to stuffy environments, I definitely would not recommend staying here. The location is also quite far from most attractions, and it often took 40 minutes or more to get around.

The only thing that I will be picky on is the rule of checking on 2.pm and leaving at 10.am! I guess that is the rule everywhere and I Still do not like it! Over all it is a nice place

At first look, they looked clean, but after several days I got numerous rashes on my legs and arms, especially on the neck that was touching them. Been in many hostels, never got that before. There was something really bad in those bed sheets.

The Vibe: Institutional, quiet, and dominated by large groups of teenagers. If you are a solo traveler or a backpacker looking for the classic Barcelona hostel experience—social nights, pub crawls, meeting people in cozy common spaces, and a vibrant international vibe—Pere Tarrés is likely not the place for you. During my stay, the atmosphere felt much closer to a rigid university dormitory or a school-trip lodging than a social youth hostel. The hostel is frequently booked out by large groups of very young teenagers and school excursion groups. Because of this, it lacks the independent, mingling backpacker energy you typically find in European hostels. There are virtually no organized activities or events designed to bring guests together. If you are traveling alone, making friends here takes a lot of active effort, as most people stick to their pre-existing groups or keep to themselves. The shared spaces are functional at best, but certainly not comfortable. They lack the cozy, relaxed seating, warm lighting, or welcoming layout that encourages people to hang out, read, or chat for long periods. It feels more like a waiting room than a lounge. On the bright side, the facilities are generally clean, the staff is professional, and the location in the Les Corts district is quiet and safe with decent metro access.

Reviewed Aug 26, 2026Generous and spacious communal spaces, welcoming atmosphere, simple access control to lockers via card. Public transport not far away, tram stop just a short walk away in Av. Diagona, metro a little farther, 10-15 min walk to Barcelona Sants station. Small shops, cafés, and shopping centre nearby.
There was no butter at breakfast. Otherwise no issues.

Reviewed Aug 25, 2026The staff were very friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to be helpful. The cooking facilities in the communal kitchen were handy. The beds had lockable drawers which were useful for storing my things in.
The breakfast was nice, but it was the same thing every day which made it repetitive.

Tenia que pagar 3,50 por toalla. En desayuno no era mucho y dos dias sirvieron lo mismo. El ultimo dia las mujeres de la recepción/limpieza me miraron como un enemigo cuando vine a recoger mi mochila.

Vc PG pra virar camareira, eles te "dão" na recepção o lençol pra vc mesma colocar na sua cama. Limpeza ruim, ar condicionado ruim. Não tem uma.mesa pra gente se maquiar.

Reviewed Aug 22, 2026Everyone was so nice and welcoming, and helped explain how the hostel worked. Everything was very clean and the room was a very good size with towels and clean sheets provided.
The breakfast could have had more options, I am gluten free and there were no alternatives and also no eggs.

They don’t clean your sheets at all after you receive them, they don’t provide hand soap and the facilities are really dodgy.

Окреме 10 зірок на рецепції, дуже ввічливі та милі, переселили мене в кімнату для жінок, хоча на букінгу не було такої можливості, за що їм дуже вдячна. 5. Сніданки дуже прості але все свіже 6. Район в якому розташований цілком безпечний
Тут хочу відзначити 2 моменти: 1. Хостел не в центрі, і для таких як я, що люблять ходити, це не найкраще розташування, найближча архітектурна памʼятка за 35-40 хв ходьби, до головної площі, 30 хв автобусом, до пляжу 40-50 хв автобусом. Метро є, але через ремонт, переходи між станціями закриті. Для мене це абсолютно не близько, хоча в відгуках було написано що зручне розташування 2. Це перший мій досвід ночівлі в хостелі, і хочу відзначити що вночі мене щось покусало, напевно не комарі бо був опухлий слід і жахливий зуд. Сподіваюсь що все таки це не клопи…

Sei que é um hostel e não um hotel, mas no café da manhã só tinha carboidrato, senti falta de ovos como proteína, por exemplo. Como sugestão (já vi isso em outros hostels), acho interessante pensarem em dinâmicas de integração entre os hóspedes, isso faz com que as pessoas criem novas conexões a partir do hostel e criasse um ambiente muito mais legal

La cocina comunal la cerraban en periodos largos y justamente a la.hora del desayuno, o merienda (para limpiarla) aunque duraba horas cerrada.
