. Snack : pas top pour 1/2 pension
Pulling up to the hotel my hopes weren’t very high. But the reception area inside was very nice and the desk staff were extremely helpful. Our room wasn’t ready upon our arrival but there was a room we could leave our cases and we were able to use the hotel’s facilities. We’d booked a junior suite with a sea view and on first impression everything looked good but the air-con was the worst we’ve ever had in a hotel, I found a small piece of glass on the floor by the bed, a lampshade was badly marked and there was a stain on the bedcover. The beds were made every day but the floor was never cleaned. The food in the buffet restaurant (the only restaurant) was hit and miss. The usual salads, chips and a few other options to try and make a meal out of. The only food that was actually hot was the soup. Snacks were limited to pastries at the pool bar (€1 per glass, returned when the glasses were returned) . Lots of loungers but nearly everyone was broken or had to be fiddled with to get the backs into a seated position. Pool towels are provided and have to be collected/changed from the spa between 10-12 each morning except Fridays, when it isn’t open. Evening entertainment doesn’t start at the advertised time. El Médano is a 15 minute walk and if you walk along the beach there are two World War 2 lookout bunkers. There are several bars and restaurants in the town, a craft market on Saturdays and a farmers market on Wednesdays. It is definitely not 4 star as advertised when we booked but I guess you get what you pay for.
I liked the Junior Suite in the 5th floor with a lot of space. The breakfast and evening buffet was fantastic with variations day by day. I used the spa and it was a good experience.
Adults only - was not what I expected. It is true, there was no noise from kids. But I felt more like being in a home for elderly people close to retirement or in retirement. Most visitors lived in the hotel bubble between hotel room, lounge chair at the pool (some were reserved even before breakfast!), eating table in the restaurant and armchair in the evening entertainment. I thought - adult only - relates more to singles-meet-singles, and my thought was wrong.
First impressions were good. Reception staff were friendly and informative. Lots of sunbeds so everyone had options of where to sit round the pool. However, most of them were broken and fiddly to use. Good little bar by the pool offering a range of drinks. We were told it was also a snack bar. Other than a bag of crisps or a couple of pastries we didn't see any snacks. Also, ice creams and slushies are not included in the all inclusive. Food was ok although the breakfast could be hit and miss. Lunch and dinner times usually had a good range of salads and cooked buffet. Even if you got there early a lot of the cooked dishes were overcooked and warm not hot. There is no entertainment during the day at all and evening entertainment doesn't usually start until 9-9.30pm. No entertainment at all on a Monday evening. We have also been informed that they are removing all evening entertainment next year. The room we had was on the top floor with beautiful views out across the sea, which we did pay more for. The cleaning service was literally the bare minimum, a bin in the bathroom but nowhere else, air conditioning didn't work, tea and coffee rarely topped up, no milk for drinks, mattress was torn with bits hanging out and no fan. The town of Medano is a 10-15 min walk away and is lovely with lots of bars and restaurants. All in all, we were led to believe that this is a 4 star hotel, it definitely isn't. We have since discovered that jet 2 have downgraded it to a 3 star.
Can i just say what a wonderful time i had staying at this hotel recently, no faults what so ever could be found, location, food, atmosphere all brilliant and value for money as well!
We are currently approaching a two week stay here and cannot believe some of the poor reviews! We have had a fantastic time here with exceptional friendly and welcoming staff, in particular Marlen. The ambiance is very calming and the rooms spacious. Fantastic choice of food with varied menu and the wine is quite acceptable. Amazing views from the dining room and terrace bar. Evening entertainment is low key but fitting with the calmness of the hotel. If you want a really relaxing holiday this place is highly recommended. It ticks every box for us and we will return again without hesitation.
Unfortunately, I would not rate this hotel as 4 star. I’ll start with the good points. The reception staff working at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The lady who worked in the beach bar was lovely and welcoming. Looking at the hotel, it looks ok to start with. However, when you’ve been there a few days you start to notice things that are not so good. The biggest let down for me was the pool area. There’s no shaded cover so if you want to put the umbrella up for shade you can’t because the lifeguard says no it’s too windy. The furniture is in one word rubbish and even the one lifeguard said that to me when I showed him my sun lounger was broken and missing a screw. I had to move to another lounger which was fine but then started to notice after days of being there. Half of the sun beds are broken when you check them. I spent half my time having to move round to different parts of the pool trying to seek shade because there was no shade. The parasols they have there are useless because they don’t stand wind so why have them. Maybe invest in some proper furniture that can. In fact, day 5 of my holiday all of them had been taken away by the lifeguard . The pool area was not cleaned properly at all. For about four days there were cigarette ends left right by where the pool is, which is really off putting. The pool area was just dirty and when I watched the cleaners cleaning in the morning, they did half a job. As for the food, some food did not look cooked properly. I went to have the prawn salad but when I looked at the prawns they were partly blue so definitely not cooked properly. Food was very much the same everyday. I had to stick to foods that didn’t look like they would give me food poisoning. In the end, I did go out and have food at local restaurants which the food was great. You had to pay one euro for a plastic cup for the pool side cup for you holiday, which is something I’ve never heard of until I came here. You couldn’t use the safe because you had to pay for a key to lock it, which when I’ve stayed in 3 star hotels they have been free. The spa towels weren’t the best either, the first day I had one, it looked as though there was something brown on the towel, so dread to think what it was. The spa which was shown on the hotel booking was shown as been part of the holiday was not free and apparently cost 15 euros for two hours. The reason I booked the holiday was because it was showing it as part of the holiday. I was all inclusive so would expect to be at least able to use that facility but not unless wanted to pay 15 euros for two hours. At the end of this holiday, I am struggling to see why this hotel is rated as a 4 star hotel… The people who run this hotel really need to rethink what they are doing because after staying at this hotel, I will not be returning as it’s probably one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. To rate this as 4 star is not good enough. I feel that the hotel is cutting corners on what they do and it really shows.
Staff asked to clean my room, to which i said yes, she pulled a face as she expected me to say no! Unwelcoming vibe from the cleaners. Food was below average, this should be a 3 star hotel on a good day.
Would not recommend to anyone.. food was lukewarm at best.. not much choice at all and practically the same for lunch and dinner. carrots and peas served for breakfast with green beans and rice not so sure what that’s about..? The fruit was also mouldy at breakfast times which put me off eating any of the fresh fruit..We ate out a lot to avoid the cold food which defeated the purpose of all inclusive. All inclusive drinks are limited, two choice of largers spirits and that’s practically it. Hotel itself was clean and the rooms were too. However house cleaning come along and take dirty towels but then you don’t receive clean replacements for 2 hours at least.. which is annoying upon returning after being away wanting a shower. Staff were miserable and didn’t seem to want to help. The only staff who were friendly and polite were the reception staff who couldn’t do enough. 90% of the sun loungers are broken an absolute nightmare to find one that is working. The pool itself was nice but insanely salty. Arenas del mar is insanely windy too. So don’t expect to be sat in the sun without things going flying.. there is nothing around the hotel unless u want to walk 20 minutes into the closest town.. the spa is nice however it needs renovating and some money put into it. The pool is warm but the jacuzzi was cold and only 1 jet working.. defeats the object of a jacuzzi. The member of staff in the spa was lovely really friendly however. Would I stay here again? No. Would I recommend it to anyone? No.
Outside appearance of hotel looks like something from the goulags. Inside is pleasant and clean with friendly polite staff. For an all inclusive stay the Hotel was let down by the following: Nowhere to get a tea / coffee or soft drink between 10am and 12:30pm apart from the small poolside bar which gave you a small paper cup. Having to pay 1 euro for a plastic beaker when drinking near the pool. Charge for in room safe which was key operated. No free bottled water and told you can get refills from the drinks machines which were only available in the breakfast room during opening times. Room cleaning was poor cups were left dirty. We arrived back to our room after lunch only to find the door wide open and two maintenance guys fixing a balcony light that wasn't broken and that we hadn't reported. Restuarant partially closed off with only one drinks machine operational. On a positive the food was generally fair to good. If you like to go all inclusive I would avoid this hotel as it is not value for money. Needless to say we won't be returning. Suggest the hotel owners / managers sit down and take a good look their vision for the future.
Location is very quiet which we knew. No atmosphere. We had a junior suite 9/10 looked over the ocean. Value 5/10 Hotel was clean all over. Noise level was fine. Front desk staff were fantastic. Food.... was terrible, warm at best, we ate out quite a lot which detracted from being all inclusive. We will never stay here again. Room cleaning was hit and miss Very windy around pool (understandable), sand gets everywhere, nearest beach is quite rocky in the water, take towel pegs so they don't blow away. Paid trips will be cancelled if not enough people want to go, hard to plan if this happens.
Overall it was good, staff were lovely, good location and the facilities are nice. Despite that for what we paid the food was average and often cold. The drinks weren’t great either, all beer was poorly poured, Amstel & Heineken. Drinks after 11pm were paid for, despite all inclusive. €1 charge for a plastic cup to use by the pool that was your responsibility for the rest of your stay. All the loungers by the pool were in bits and uncomfortable. One pool table, €1 a game. Music by the pool was the same 8/9 songs on repeat all week frequently interrupted. The food and beer really let this place down unfortunately. The receptionists were exceptionally helpful and pleasant as were the bar and pool staff. It wasn’t for me, hope things improve, great potential.
Another fabulous stay at Arenas del Mar, fly home tomorrow. All staff super friendly and efficient as always, particular shout out to Nuria, Annabel, Said and Marlen who looked after us. The Lifeguard at the pool (older guy) was very attentive and helped us with parasols and moving beds and anything else we needed. The housekeeping staff kept the room spotless and always lovely fresh towels and bedding. Have been coming for many years and look forward to next year's visit.
This is a lovely hotel. The hotel is kept very clean. Room was cleaned every day. Staff are very friendly even though they speak very little English Plenty of sunbeds around the pool. Would suggest that they could mend a few of them although we never had any trouble. Never had to put towels on them to save. Food was good always plenty to choose Only downside was the surface by the pool plenty of people slipping. This does need to be addressed
5/5 loved this hotel provides exacty what it says on tin and definitely budget friendly looking to return next year
Well after reading a few negative reviews before we visited, I was dreading the holiday, upon arrival the hotel isn’t too appealing from outside, but once you step into the foyer it was very welcoming, reception staff was very pleasant and gave us lots of info upon check in. The room we booked was nice and spacious with a sea view, clean and tidy. The food was nice a lot of variety, fresh salad, fruit and fish and meat was cooked whilst you wait. Pool area was clean and tidy, staff at the pool bar were really friendly. Bar staff in the evening were very efficient, didn’t have to wait long for drinks. If you want a late night this isn’t for you, bar closes bang on 11pm It’s not the most expensive holiday we’ve been on but you get what you pay for.
Just arrived back from 10 days at Arenas Del Mar, and our seventh visit. As usual a lovely greeting and welcomed by many of the staff who have been there a long time and have taken time to talk to us. Having been all over the world on vacations this is a cheap filler Holliday for us so as with anything, you get what you pay for. Yes we have had better food but by the same token paid for it..... There was always something to eat with a huge salad selection and fresh cooked meat of some description along with some occasional themed evenings. Jet 2 advertise no entertainment as such but there was some as it happend so if you wanted it it was there, personally I could take it or leave it, it's the chilled out bonus that we go for. El Medano itself is a cracking family orientated town offering entertainment if required a nice selection of shops and just a 10 minute walk away. If you are looking for good value, a chilled out atmosphere then this has to be a contender for sure, some of the negative reviews quite frankly are facicle and sound like they probably relate to a different hotel!!!
Great hotel. Went for my 60th birthday. Our room was upgraded and a bottle of champagne was delivered to our room on my birthday, which was a lovely surprise. Food was good and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Have booked to go back next year. Thank-you for a lovely stay.
Amazing food (quality and quantity) Comfy bed Very clean and well maintained Position: perfect if you just wanna relax cause it is not in the centre
Air conditioning was direct to the bed making it impossible to use during the night. Therefore room was too hot while sleeping. WiFi is not bad but can be improved
Just returned from a week at arenas del Mar tenerife 12 to 19 June with my 85 year old mother in law while the hotel is in a rugged rock area and can be windy it is quite unique and it's off the beaten tourist track it's so peaceful and wonderful. As for the hotel it stands on its own but you can see the waves rolling in and out as for the previous reviews and comments on TripAdvisor in opinion they are so unreal and is doing the hotel a total injustice. not fantastic looking from the outside I agree but as not for everything else commented on. from arriving at reception we were welcomed polite friendly staff member Tanya then during the stay we also met Charlotte who were always happy and helpful best reception staff I have met in a while. Now to the rooms we had very large junior suites over looking the mountains unfortunately our rooms were overlooking the car park not the best so next time will be booking sea view room but the rooms were extremely clean everyday with towels changed and bed changed when required now to the restaurant staff were lovely polite and cheerful food was lovely no complaints plenty of variety and choice of hot and cold even for very fussy eaters and people with dietary requirements hot was mostly cooked fresh salad barshad lots of choice deserts to die for and plenty of fresh fruit breakfast had everything you could want for breakfast cannot undersrtand negativity about food what else are you expecting pool is really lovely plenty of sunbeds drinks were plentiful and satisfactory from all bars for what we wanted all bars staff were polite and cheerful ihad a massage by a young guy sorry didn't get his name but had a lovely massages thank you to him didn't get time to use the pa but will when I return as for the moans about the planes over head dint bother us quite pleasant bearing in mind only ten minutes from the airport entertainment for us washit and miss but the saxophonist and pianist were fantastic entertaining but relaxing at the same time couldn't believe how many young couples were there as well as older so can't be that bad we had a fantastic holiday so thank to each and everyone of the staff so please people give this hotel a chance I will be returning just as soon as is possible from both the Christine garrods
I was just reading some reviews about this hotel, trying to pass the time during my night shift at work, I was surprised with all the negativity about this hotel that I felt I should make a contribution So there are a few things that need explaining here, El Medano is a wind and kite surfing resort so expect it to be windy. The hotel, staff were extremely nice and helpful, The food, my mother would say I am the fussiest eater around (that poor woman put up with me until I flew the nest aged 23) people reviewing the food whinging that’s it’s poor quality. What are your expectations?? You will not get Al-A-Carte dining on all inclusive. The drinks, I haven’t ever been on an all inclusive that give the branded drinks out on all inclusive, this hotel is no different. The hotel, the room was pretty decent, it was cleaned and towels changed daily. I can’t say I took much notice of the decor because I spent very little time awake in there, I was on holiday and had intended not to be in there most of the time. The entertainment. Not great at all, the saxophonist and the pianist were very relaxing to listen to, but I was sat outside most of the time during the evening, we entertained each other and didn’t really come on holiday to be entertained. There were 5 of us in our party, We have all booked to come again in November 2026, we know this isn’t a 5 star hotel but we’re not paying a 5 star price. One of our party has been all over the world and stayed in some high end hotels and he was more than happy staying here. I would suggest to people, if you’re expecting a 5 star experience then this hotel is not for you, save a lot more money and do yourselves a favour (and everybody else a favour) go book yourself a 5 star holiday. I have been to El Medano many many times over the years, it was the first time I had stayed in the Arenas Del Mar hotel, no screaming kids, I found it quite relaxing. The advice I would try to give people, go on holiday to enjoy yourself, not to find as many things as you can to whinge about. Be positive one and all!!!
Quiet hotel in a beautiful location with views of the black sand beach and the koi pond in reception. The rooms are reasonable sized for a couple or some light entertaining if you come with friends. Hotel and the rooms are clean and the rain head shower is a treat. For the Brits and Irish there are tea/coffee making facilities in room. The attached mini market has an array of drinks, wine, water alongside basic needs. For us, mainly used for buying water and the odd pack of crisps. El Medano is within a 10-15 minute walk if you feel the need to venture into town or need something more specialised like a pharmacy. Hotel staff are friendly, helpful and speak the advertised languages. For the full board rate I feel I got what I paid for. Food was varied albeit following a pattern of meat braised in a sauce of some kind. I always left the buffet too full and neither lunch nor dinner never felt like a repeat menu. Themed nights included Asian, Mexican and Canerian. The Asian and (Tex-)Mexican nights are more aligned to the versions of these cuisines I have experienced in Latin American countries so do not expect chicken balls with curry or egg fried rice. However, all themed nights were enjoyable, tasty and broke up the week. Don’t skip the local treats of giofio ice cream (add chocolate and tastes like a malteser) or the live cooking stations. Only nitpick is the ladling of food in the buffet can be hit and miss. Hot food is always labelled in English, Spanish and German but the cold cuts/salads and deserts islands are not always labeled. This was only an issue as one of my party was allergic to orange and has a sweet tooth. Night time entertainment seemed non-offensive and reasonable but not my “cup of tea” on this particular trip. But I give a shout out to the saxophonist and the pianist who played two of the nights.
While the physical hotel itself is quite nice, the overall experience was frustrating enough that I would not choose to stay here again. Why the Hotel Fell Short The primary reason I wouldn't return is that the "All-Inclusive" package felt like a bait-and-switch. Restrictive Drinks: It is incredibly misleading to call a plan "All-Inclusive" when it only covers five specific alcoholic drinks. For anything else, you are forced to pay extra, which quickly adds up. Subpar Dining: The food quality was very poor. It lacked the standard you’d expect from a resort in Tenerife, making me regret not just eating out every night. Dull Atmosphere: The entertainment was minimal and, frankly, boring most of the time. There was very little "vacation energy" in the evenings. The Silver Lining It’s a shame the service and food were so lacking, because the hardware of the hotel is actually good: Modern & Clean: The rooms are contemporary and were kept in pristine condition. Friendly Team: The staff members were the highlight of the stay—genuinely kind and professional. Final Thoughts A hotel needs more than just a nice room to be worth a return visit. Between the poor food, boring entertainment, and the "nickel-and-diming" for drinks, the value just isn't there. Next time, I'll be booking elsewhere.
The location of the hotel is great! The atmosphere is fabulous as it’s peaceful and quiet. The rooms are lovely, although instead of a lounge area, I’d rather have two double beds instead of twin beds for adults. The spa facilities on site are also decent and the pool area is kept well maintained with decent music and not too loud. The staff are friendly to. It’s lost stars for me on the food. Reviews was there was good variety, however depends on your definition of variety. The breakfast was the same every morning. The yoghurts were runny and no offer of a nice thick plain yoghurt. The juices were concentrated from the machine, so no taste and not much variety to fresh fruit either. Crepes were tiny and if you’re not a Nutella or honey person, nothing much to go with it 😢. If you’re looking for yummy fresh fruit, yummy fresh pastries it’s not here. The dinners were bland and I’ve missed my veg as the vegetables looked so unappetising. The pasta sauces were super thin and most food needed salt as bland in taste barring the mango chicken and bbq ribs. They had prawns one evening, but no tartare sauce. Also turkey with apple sauce is a no no… if you love good tasty food, you’ll be disappointed as I was.
That it was next to the beach
The food
Very friendly attentive staff. Food was delicious. Hotel was impeccable.
Little bit further from the town than Google maps says it is.
I had big hopes for this solo get away, unfortunately I left disappointed. The staff were lovely, pleasant and helpful however the food was absolutely awful and the bar lacked options limiting you to a choice of around 6 cocktails anything else deviating from this list was an extra charge. I was also charged a “deposit” of one euro for a cup to be used at the pool. The room and bathroom was also very poor and the first night I barely slept because of the scent of vape or cigarettes. I was offered a room change the next day but definitely not the best use of my money. I would not go back here and I would not recommend it
Lovely, friendly hotel. The staff make it special, especially Tiego and his Bingo Bongo nights. The spa is old and basic. The spa treatments were great- hot stones massage and a facial were very good. The pool is heated salt water so very welcoming. The Aqua gym was fun. Sadly all entertainment is ending on May 1st. The food was tasty and there was something fresh on the griddle every day.
Transfer short 20 mins. Reception staff lovely. Room 8 out of 10 needs updating. Good points large and bed comfy. Lovely views. Drinks ok. Food not so good. Undercooked salmon and meat on the grill and very repetitive. Miserable chefsand. Waiting staff lovely. Pool area nice, spa needs updating. Very quite but that was what I wanted. Beach on doorstep. Lifts a bit hit and miss. 3 star not 4. Animation team apparatley no longer after this week.
My experience at this hotel was quite disappointing. Starting with the cleanliness, which was very poor, and the food, which generally lacked quality and flavor. That said, not everything was negative. I would like to highlight the excellent service from the receptionist Ariadna, the bar staff member Marlens, and the animator Tiago, who were always friendly, attentive, and truly made a difference during my stay. On the other hand, I had an unprofessional experience with the pool bar staff member, Lilian, who at one point was taking a phone call while serving customers, which I found inappropriate. Overall, I feel that the hotel promises much more on its website than it actually delivers. Unfortunately, I leave quite dissatisfied with my stay.
We had a nice stay. Due to the time of year it was quiet. Access straight on to the beach. There was a good variety of food. We were All Inclusive but in all honesty it probably wasn’t worth it. The cocktails were awful, not due to the local alcohol but the cheap watered down “juice” they use is so sweet, it’s like syrup so we couldn’t drink them. Only the meals were included and I believe there were some small baguettes and toasties on offer for snacks - sadly the ice creams were chargeable. The room has a mini fridge with 2 bottles of water on arrival but not a minibar as advertised and the water is not replenished. The room was clean and tidy and a good size - if you get the option ask for a pool/sea view rather than a Mountain View. Staff were friendly enough. Be prepared for the wind - it is pretty relentless. All in all it’s fine if you know what to expect.
The location of the hotel is excellent for windsurfers and water sports enthusiasts, thanks to the consistent wind conditions. The nearest resort, Medana, is approximately a 10–15 minute walk away. On a warm day, this is a pleasant stroll; however, in colder, windier conditions it can feel less enjoyable. Medana offers a good selection of bars and restaurants, providing plenty of choice for eating and drinking. In addition, there are three small bars/bistros/pizzerias directly across the road from the hotel, which we enjoyed visiting for a drink outside of the hotel. One point to note is that it becomes very dark in the evening, and there is no street lighting along the main road between the hotel and Medana, so it is advisable to take a phone or torch. The hotel itself has a lovely atmosphere, and all staff were friendly and polite. In particular, Maria in the bar and the new bartender were especially welcoming—thank you for making us feel so comfortable. The food is typical of an all-inclusive hotel, with a wide variety available to suit most tastes. As non–fish and non–pork eaters, there were a couple of evenings where the options were limited for us; however, there are plenty of local restaurants nearby, so this was not an issue and is simply a personal preference rather than a criticism of the hotel. The rooms are a good size, larger than average, but we were slightly disappointed with the condition of the walls, which had noticeable marks and would benefit from repainting. A fresh coat of paint would make a significant difference and enhance the overall feel of the rooms. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of our room was not consistent, as it was only cleaned twice during our week-long stay, although towels were changed daily. As we are generally tidy, this was manageable, but the floor did become slippery at times due to sunscreen, and more regular cleaning would have been appreciated. Aside from this, the hotel was generally clean, although the gym could benefit from a more thorough clean. The lifts may be an issue for some guests, as only one was operational for most of our stay, and both were out of service on our final day. The pool is not particularly large, but it is heated and very pleasant to use. Entertainment is available but not intrusive, which we appreciated. The hotel can be a little noisier on Friday and Saturday evenings, though it does quieten down by midnight. If possible, I would recommend requesting a pool or sea view room, as the mountain view rooms can be quite dark. Overall, the cost was average for what was offered. While we have stayed in some 4-star hotels of a slightly higher standard, this should not deter others, as the hotel still provides a good experience with a welcoming atmosphere.
Great adults only hotel, 15-20 minute walk from El Medano centre. We had a sea & pool view room which was spacious with a fantastic view of Montana Roja and the beach at the side. We went in March, which was quieter (suited us!) can be windy around the pool area but is easily sorted by choosing the right spot. Food was great, varied menu & the dining area is very peaceful with huge windows looking out to sea / the beach. All the staff we met were very helpful and chatty, especially the pool bar area! We like walking so great base for walking across town to Montana Roja - the view is amazing from the top. Also good spot to walk across the beaches to Montana Amarilla and Las Galletas.
The animator Tiago was amazing with me and my husband from the beginning which made our vacations even more special, thank you ❤️
I had an absolutely great stay at KN Arenas del Mar and would highly recommend it. The massage and spa experience was amazing—truly relaxing and one of the highlights of the trip. The entertainment team also deserves special recognition, especially Tiago and Daniel, who were outstanding and made the stay even more enjoyable with their energy and friendliness. The food was great with plenty of choice, so there was always something to suit everyone. On top of that, all the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really made a difference. Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish.
Fabulous location! Off the plane and already had a drink at the bar within the hour! Service was good. Food is fine considering it’s produced for such large numbers. Drink portions were pretty decent, some staff more generous than others. Planes flying over are not disruptive. The wind can be pretty strong when sunbathing, but choosing your sunbed carefully should eliminate this. Pool is salt water which is different and not unpleasant. Lovely quiet beach. View from sea view rooms is phenomenal…sunrise/sunset/daytime!! Not noisy from bars Easy stroll to the town where there are gift shops, bars and restaurants. Only there three nights, but it was wonderful for what we wanted.
Has definitely seen better days. We were there in March 25 during Storm Therese and while bad weather can't be helped I at least expect the hotel to be water tight....how wrong could we be. The food, although lots of it, was all overcooked and very repetitive. The staff however were all lovely. I can't praise Tiago in entertainment enough, he genuinely saved our holiday. Overall, I would not recommend, this hotel needs some serious investment.
The ladies at reception went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. I think the receptionist her name was Tania or Tatiana, she was amazing and provided a complimentary late check out inclusive of lunch and a complimentary taxi returning to the airport in the day of our departure to make up for the downside of our stay There is a spacious, bright and airy lobby and foodhall. Pool and sunbed area was very well maintained. Our bedroom suite was a very good size and comfortable. Also loved the sea view from the foodhall.
The lifts were out of order 5days out of seven, quite an inconvenience given the large scale of the property and we were on the 5th floor. Some of the waiting staff in the foodhall were exceptionally rude and embarrassed guests on a number of occasions,, myself included. We were guests during storm Therese and there was very heavy rainfall, not the hotels fault but our room was flooded for 3 consecutive nights as the water seemed to be seeping through the exterior walls, we had to put all of our towels onto the floor to mop up the flood water and had to wait forr clean ones to be brought every morning before we could shower. Also the windows in the bedroom and living area were broken so we couldn't open our windows for a few days until they were fixed. The spa albeit a independent business, a number of their facilities were not working, the young staff however were lovely.and couldn't do enough, the owner is very lucky yo have them.
My second visit. I'm glad I went back. Although at the time of booking jet2 still rated the place 4 star, by the time I arrived it had dropped to 3 star plus. I cannot see any deterioration in the accommodation, facilities, staff or catering since I last visited in 2024, I understand the change in rating is due to a shift in criteria. You can eat really well here. I don't think I saw much repetition in the hot meals, save for one or two items. I would rate the food highly, I can't say I'm an experienced tourist traveller, but over my career I have stayed in a lot of business hotels, I would much rather have the food here, I don't understand folk who complain about it in these reviews, or credit their claims of having better experiences elsehwere, I do wish they would name these magical places. At this price point, I really can't fault this hotel, my room was well cleaned every day, towels replaced as necessary and I found all the staff very amenable. If I had a gripe, I would happily wait for the AI bar offer to start at 11am, rather than 10am, if it meant it continued until midnight when the bars all closed, rather than paying for drinks for an hour at the end of the day (but at around £3 a pint, it's a minor quibble). There are facilities that I didn't take advantage of, such as the spa, but I certainly didn't hear any other patrons complaining about such things. There is a terrfic restaurant underneath the hotel, and I fully recommend a visit during your stay. I sure don't rule out a third visit in the future.
My fiance and I have just returned from a short break here and no complaints from us. We were very kindly upgraded to a beautiful sea view room, a joy up wake up to! Room was lovely and clean with comfy beds. The shower was nice but it leaked all over the bathroom. Tea/coffee facilities are always welcome! Air con didn’t always work but we slept with the doors open. Bliss! We upgraded to all inclusive whilst we were there (36€ per person, per night) as there are very limited bars/restaurants in the immediate area. This made things easier to get food and drink and we were happy with the selection available. We enjoyed the food, good choice and always hot. I agree with the previous review that the juices weren’t great and the cups were small. Breakfast was lovely too. Drinks were nice too, no small measures. Location - it’s 1.5km walk from El Medano, there’s literally nothing else around the hotel. Uber was quoting 30€ to get into El Medano. We found 2 restaurants over the road (next to the hyrox gym) which were very busy and full of locals, would recommend trying here if you want a break from hotel food. About a 5 min walk. We used the hotel gym - it’s basic but had what we needed for a workout. Loads of sun loungers round the pool and no issues getting a bed. The pool was so nice and warm! We didn’t use the spa facilities. We didn’t bother with the entertainment, we preferred sitting upstairs near the piano area as it was nice and relaxing. Monday evening had a fantastic saxophonist, loved him! It is more geared up to older guests but this didn’t bother us. We missed the hype with the film crew but had been told about people (staff unfortunately) doing drugs and we often smelt weed which isn’t ideal. The lift was broken for a few days but the hotel let some of the elders use the staff lift so they still had access to the other floors and facilities - this seemed to be dependent on which staff member was monitoring it! All in all, we’d stay here again. We’re not bothered about walking so wandering into El Medano was ok for us. If you’re looking for British bars/restaurants, this place is not for you. But if you’re wanting relaxation and to get away from it all, the hotel is ideal.
We had 10 nights at this hotel . About a mile walk to the centre of the resort .We walked it most days an easy walk along good pavements and flat .Sea on one side and a quiet road on the other side . Plenty of people watching wave watching on reaching the town and the dare devils on kite boards and wind surfing. Yes the area is very windy but that is why world championships of kite surfing and wind surfing take place here . The hotel had many nationalities which is great we met some great guests enjoying many games of chess and cards . This is an adults only hotel and we took the all inclusive option. We were not disappointed by the food or the drink options .I enjoyed the cocktail called Honeymoon. Staff very friendly and happy to chat when they had the time .Room was serviced efficiently we never saw the housekeeping staff .Bed remade every day bathroom cleaned .When asked for another pillow no problem delivered to the room . If you want a quiet holiday away from the hustle of other resorts where you have to dodge the invalid scooters and pick pockets try here .
Quiet location
Nothing
Not Recommended. Breakfast should be condemned raw bacon raw eggs and bullet sausages all luke warm. Bread not fresh very stale. Thank heavens we only went B&B. Poor quality orange and apple juice. Cutlery missing on table. Baby size cups for tea and coffee. Hotels lifts not working and no back up plan disabled people suffering trying to use the stairs. Certainly would not recommend this hotel as your holiday accommodation. Disgraceful.
Lovely hotel, I travelled with my partner, mum and step dad. There were many positives about this hotel: Entertainment- Tiego was an incredible asset to this hotel! He ensured everyone was having fun and worked so hard. Even on sunny days he would arrange some in door entertainment. Such a lovely guy as well who made everyone feel welcome. Staff- on the whole staff in the hotel were lovely, we had a great welcome when arriving at reception, maids would say hello to you and bar staff were kind. I think there was only one I came across who was a bit moody but otherwise everyone else was so nice and loved it when you attempted to speak Spanish. Hotel- rooms we spacious, clean and there were some lovely seated areas in the foyer for a sit down and chill. Pool area was always clean and the pool was warm which was great on the windy days. You do need to pay 1 euro deposit for your cup but you get that back once you hand your cup in. Free towels which you collect from the spa. Do make sure you hand them back at the end of the holiday otherwise you'll get charged for not handing the towel card in. On bad weather days they opened up the bar near reception earlier so people could have a drink as well. Beds and towels were changed everyday we were there. All inclusive is up until 11pm but I think it averaged about 6 euro for a drink thereafter which we didn't find unreasonable. Food- genuinely cannot fault the food. We aren't fussy eaters so there was always something we could find. The hotel provided themed nights. We have never been anywhere that serves so much Salmon and we loved this! Food was tasty and there was always plenty of fresh salad to accompany your meals. Now the negatives: Hotel spa- I use spa in the loosest term. For 15 euro for 2 hours we found this a bit steep. It was lovely to go in there out of the adverse weather, but the place is in need of refurbishment. There are also things that do not work like some of the jets on the jacuzzi. The sauna and steam room are tiny and very tired looking. I think if these were improved, it would make the experience far better as it was otherwise really nice. Other guests- I had to make a complaint to reception regarding cannabis use on our floor. We were able to identify the room as the smell in mine and my mums room was disgusting. I was informed it is illegal but yet not a lot was done about this. (Although not sure what else could be but it wasn't a pleasant experience). There were also other guests who had observed cocaine use in the hotel. There was also a hen party during our stay. I'm all up for girls having fun, but they were incredibly disruptive at meal times and had even made other guests feel very uncomfortable and the hotel didn't really intervene. The staff however, would fuel them with more alcohol and even offered them cocktails at dinner which other guests hadn't had access to. I don't personally agree with favouritism but the chef's from the kitchen certainly made this obvious. They too as well as the film crew were incredibly loud late of an evening and the hotel staff allowed this. Our first night we were chatting in the foyer and were moved on very quickly. We respected why we were moved on but this should be applied to all guests too. Beds- a little too firm for my liking, so I did struggle to sleep whilst I was staying here El medano itself is around a 15-20 minute walk away, the area is lovely and appears to be very well looked after. It is quite small, no sports bars if you're after a football game to watch but you do get a lovely view from sitting outside a cafe/restaurant. Overall I would stay here again if the opportunity presented itself. Although, staying in Tenerife again I have been put off by as our experience at the airport was hell. If you are flying to tenerife south do ensure you are getting to the airport 3 hours before departure if you can. The E gates were a nightmare and you can wait up to 2 hours alone in the passport control queue, we were lucky our flight waited. However, Ryanair and Easy jet passengers were not so lucky.
Initially wary after some reviews but an upgraded room on arrival to a suite was a nice surprise. Room perfect, bed comfy and huge balcony . Breakfast had more than adequate choices . Staff very friendly . Easy walk into town and great choice of restaurants.
KN Arenas Hotel Review – 8/10 I stayed at KN Arenas and upgraded to all-inclusive for four nights at €36 per night, which was great value. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always happy to see me. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner offered a delicious range of hot and cold foods catering to all diets. The coffee machine was excellent, and the main dining hall had themed menus daily. The hotel also arranged a beautiful birthday cake for a friend, which was a lovely touch (€18). Positives: • Staff: Tiego, a new member of the animation team, was exceptional – professional, polite, and energetic, managing aqua aerobics, guest interaction, and evening entertainment without complaint. He deserves a pay raise and promotion. • Facilities: Rooms have excellent bathroom space with good water pressure, sinks at a high level, a bidet, and eco-friendly towel policy. Balcony views of the ocean and pool area are lovely, with functional seating and a pull-out washing line. The reception and piano lounge are attractive, relaxing spaces, enhanced by fish ponds and water features. The TV/billiards/library room is comfortable and has a great ocean view. Concerns / Areas for Improvement: • Entertainment & Noise: The Saturday film crew took over evening entertainment from 9 pm to midnight and were loud and inappropriate until 3 am. On multiple occasions, guests played music loudly in the piano lounge and security staff did not intervene. A hen party on March 27 disrupted breakfast and dinner, causing distress to other guests, including a guest in a wheelchair. Restaurant staff continued serving alcohol without addressing inappropriate behaviour. Training staff on customer care and awareness of PTSD is recommended. • Animation / Activities: Entertainment does not start until 9 pm, making days very boring for solo guests. There were no daytime games or activities. Comparisons to other hotels (e.g., Barcelo Santiago) show daily morning and afternoon activities and games plus evening entertainment. • All-Inclusive Experience: Drinks after 11 pm were not included, and there was no wine list or wine offered at dinner. Snacks were very limited (a few sandwiches, toasties, pastries) and not available late at night. All-inclusive should include a good lunch, snacks all day, and late-night options. • Room Comfort: The bed is extremely firm with no option for a mattress topper or memory foam pillows, resulting in back, neck, and shoulder pain. Unless you sleep instantly or standing up, it’s uncomfortable. • Facilities Access: On Wednesday, March 18, the TV/billiards/library room was closed due to film crew work. Guests must pay to play billiards, which is disappointing. • Dining Experience: While the food is good, there is no staff welcoming guests, no wine list, and personal table service is only offered to large groups. Offering a server and wine options would enhance the dining experience. Summary: KN Arenas is a beautiful hotel with friendly staff, delicious food, and lovely communal areas. However, unprofessional staff behaviour, excessive noise, lack of daytime activities, and limited all-inclusive options reduce the overall experience. With improvements in staff training, entertainment, and snack/drink availability, I would return. Rating: 8/10
I found the hotel reception staff and hotel staff wonderfully helpful and friendly. I travelled on my own and celebrated my birthday at the hotel . I was treated to a bottle of Cava with a special congratulations note and it was really appreciated by me that it had been flagged up and the was made to feel special. I met some lovely people and thinking of travelling back later this year ! Thank you Julie H
Hotel clean, nice staff, very modern inside, pool and sunbed area nice. Food is ok id say for a short stay or repetitive and boring. Entertainment staff - lack off. They say adults only but lacks Entertainment.. bingo is boring.. great for oaps though. 2 members of staff said the hotel is boring to work for and aims for only oaps all year round.. one decided to tell us he does drugs to keep the long hours going!!! What a delight. The spa is so expensive, I get spas are but when the other guests say its very high for such little treatment... helps others stay clear!! Overall the location is great for wind surfers but nothing about the area unless travel into Los cristianos etc. We went to book thr market on the specified market day from the vip travel which was stated at reception but was told not running. So either had to pay 80 euro return or bus it for 1.5hrs! So ended up bored back at the hotel. Glad only done 4 days and no more though.. wouldn't recommend to those who likes relaxation but also like some entertainment.
We got back from this lovely hotel last night. The place is spotless and beautiful. The sea views are wonderful and we loved watching the windsurfers. El Medano is a small but lively town which is only about 4 minutes away (less than 5 euros) by taxi or a 15 min walk mostly along the beach. The staff are all exceptionally kind and welcoming. The food was varied and plentiful and flavoured beautifully. This is a great place for relaxation and not for the party crowd. There are games and evening entertainment if you want them however, and the entertainment team of the super friendly and fun Tiago and Jonathan are so fun and great to hang out with. We have already booked to return in September and can’t wait!
Really nice hotel, good selection of drinks on the all-inclusive package and the location is spot on, right on a quiet beach, 10 minute walk from a beautiful town. Nice and quiet. Very windy location! Be prepared but that's just the area. Only let down would be the food, not the best, and not the best variety.
The staff were excellent. Always helpful and friendly. The reception staff are exceptionally good and multilingual. We had a junior suite at the front of the hotel which didn’t have any sunshine cast on it at all. As a result it made the room slightly on the chilly side. Extra blankets needed to be requested. One night early hours we were woken up to the sound of headboard banging & grunting which was interesting haha!! When on holiday….. We went all inclusive - Drink quality except for Amstel beer was a bit sub standard. Cheap form of Baileys (Tenerife equivalent). Food was ok. Plenty of it but it was very samey. If you are here for more than a week you could quite easily get bored of it. The location of the hotel is slightly remote & only a 20 minute walk from El Medano which is a nice little town. There are plenty of restaurants and bars there. It is a great place to watch the windsurfers & the occasional busker. Overall for what we paid we can’t complain. My motto is you generally get what you pay for!!
Nice for quiet few days get away. Lovely rooms although memory foam mattress is not for me. A little more drawer space would have been nice. Food good..for a week. Shop right next door, bonus. All inclusive drinks usual not brilliant but they never are. I took my own plastic cup which they were happy to fill. Lovely front staff and bar staff. It is a windy corner but there's always somewhere a little more sheltered. Great fashion show around the pool. Entertainment until 12 but I only bobbed down a couple of times and there's music if you want a dance. They are accommodating so just ask if you need anything.
As a lot of others have said, we were also worried what this hotel was going to be like. But we are pleasantly surprised. We’re near the end of our week’s holiday here, and have had a brilliant time. The hotel is lovely, very spacious for a smaller hotel. With lots of areas to sit , comfortably, in. Rooms are really big, we booked a suite with sea view. And the view was amazing, catching the sunrise and sunset, and just lovely sat on the large balcony listening to the waves. All staff are amazing, and the entertainment staff, very friendly without being pushy. No queues , other than one or two people, at any if the bars , served quickly with a friendly smile. As for the food, we can not fault it. Once again lovely views from the large restaurant window. There was so much choice at every meal, which altered daily. The salad selection was amazing, and so tasty, then you had the hot food, where there was plenty of choice and was hot, on heated plates. Each night you had meat and fish cooked on live stations, always high standard. One evening I was able to have salmon three different ways!! Can’t get better than that. Breakfast was lovely too, and was varied, had delicious range of cheeses, hams, pate, bread, cereals, fruit, pastries, aswell as a choice of cooked. If anyone can’t find something amongst this vast choice , that they like, , then there’s something wrong with them !!!! We found the whole hotel, very clean and well kept. Ok the spa needed some attention, but still enjoyed our free two hour visit. The Freeform pool is lovely, plenty of sunbeds, no need to reserve them. Pool bar excellent. The hotel is right on the beach, which we did not venture to. But fun watching the surfers. The walk into the town is lovely, and has a new path all the way there, nice place to just wander around. We will definitely be coming back here again. Come here and enjoy your stay.
This is a quiet holiday, off the beaten track , overlooking a lovely sandy beach. We're just beck from staying here All Inclusive for two weeks. The staff are absolutely lovely. Especially Jonathan and Miguel, complimenting each other with the entertainment. The perfect balance of friendliness without being pushy. We had great fun with them. Ileana by the pool bar is amazing and Maria in the upstairs bar is special. The small local town is a nice fifteen minute walk and welll worth visiting. If you want to party, bars and busy nightlife, this is not the hotel for you. The hotel could do with some updating, therefore dropped a star. It didn't really bother us though, I'm just being honest.
We've just had two weeks here, and we're booked to return again this year. I'm really surprised at some of the negative comments on here. If you book a sea view you get the most amazing views from your balcony. It's in a quiet location and the small town with plenty of shops and restaurants is just a flat 20 minute dawdle. The staff make this hotel. From Tanya on reception to greet you, through to Ileana and Maria in the bars, the food we always find plenty to choose from and eat. We love all the various salads and freshly grilled fish and meats and zebden takes great care to ensure everything goes well. Jonathan on entertainment is a great guy who has good people skills. While staying here they reopened the entertainment bar downstairs which has been a great improvement and they've increased the opening hours of the terrace bar. The little supermarket attached to the hotel is really useful. We have enjoyed our stay and can't wait till our next visit. I agree the spa needs updating but all in all it's great value for money and the staff are amazing and are probably one of the reasons we keep returning.
The location of the hotel is lovely with fantastic views, we had a sea view and it's right next to the beach and a short walk to El Medano, a lovely town with good restaurants. We recommend Hong Kong and Platano! Give them a go.. I reiterate the staff work very hard indeed .the food is decent do not listen to the horrible odd negative nellies! It is very good value for money..it's not 5 star no but it's a nice place...a holiday is what you make it and before I forget to say the pool is lovely and heated!!!
Honestly had a lovely time at this hotel the staff where amazing and it was very clean. We had a suite and it was very spacious especially the balcony . Yes the spa could do with updating but I am so confused by previous bad reviews. To the team at Arenas Del Mar well done , will be back, thank you
Reading some of the reviews before I went, made me a little wary of certain things. After my holiday I can say they’re mostly rubbish! This hotel is tucked out of the way with INCREDIBLE views. The public areas are clean, comfortable and smell fresh. The pool area is immaculate and overlooked by an amazing security/lifeguard. The food is buffet, but there’s so much choice and I was rarely disappointed with the food. Yes sometimes it’s not piping hot, but it was never cold. The drinks are also nothing to complain about. The staff at this hotel are absolutely incredible! Reception, housekeeping, restaurant, bar and entertainment. Ileana, Claudia and Maria are angels. Jonathan and Miguel are an amazing animacion double act! They got me involved with all the events and made my holiday so much fun. The staff work so hard and always with a smile. A credit to KN Hoteles. I didn’t make use of the spa facilities so I can’t comment. Yes the entertainment/noise can carry up the central atrium, but it is over at 11pm. I have already booked my next trip to Arena Del Mar and cannot wait!
Great week in the sun - just what the doctor ordered after weeks of winter rain and cold in the UK. We were somewhat worried when we read some of the reviews beforehand, but no need to worry. Excellent hotel, great location and food and service were all excellent. We’ve stayed at much worse all inclusive hotels and paid much more. We booked a junior suite with ocean view and it was well worth it to see the sunsets from your balcony, drink in hand. The hotel is well positioned with a nice beach right next door. The sea is clean and safe and 18-20 degrees even in January. If you don’t fancy the beach the pool is even warmer at 29 degrees. Plenty of loungers although they could do with a few more sun umbrellas. We are not ones to put towels on loungers and reserve umbrellas at 8am - unfortunately there are plenty who do. When we came down mid morning we could always get a lounger, but the umbrellas were a bit scarce. Food was varied and good quality. Plenty of choice with different themed nights. All in all we were very pleased with our week away and would definitely come back at some point.
We stayed here for three nights and I was a little hesitant about what we would find having read sone pretty poor reviews. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff on check in were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was superb and huge. The food in the restaurant for all meals were good. I'm not sure what people expect of a large hotel offering all inclusive but this was varied and tasty. The bar areas were well staffed and efficient. The choice of drinks very good. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was very good. We were surprised by management with a bottle of fizz in our room for my birthday which was a very nice touch. Sadly we didn't have time to drink it so left it behind but it was appreciated. The pool area was clean and had plenty of sun beds and the pool bar was efficient. All in all it is a good value hotel and we will definitely return.
This was a good hotel, not the most attractive on the outside but really lovely inside. Very clean and spacious with some lovely sea views. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The buffet style food is plentiful with a good choice but not my favourite style of eating as the noise of plates moving and cutlery crashing impacts my experience, I’m sure others find it ok. Nice 20 min walk into local town where there are plenty of shops and restaurants
After reading the reviews my expectations were fairly low therefore I wasn't dissapointed! Pool was lovely and warm, there were some annoying sunbed hoggers claiming beds at 8.30am and keeping belongings on them all day but I always found a spot. Area clean and tidy. You can only change your towel every 2 days which was a bit tight. Spa is extra but they give you one voucher on arrival, it was a bit rough round the edges, I definitely wouldn't pay for the experience. The gym was awful which was a bit annoying as this is something I wanted to make good use of. I had a sea view junior apartment, the view was great and the apartment spacious. It wasn't very comfortable though, bed very hard, just a sheet and blanket and one pillow. Sofa was rock hard too and not comfy. TV didn't receive any of the UK channels. My biggest gripe was the smoking situation. Someone next to me was smoking constantly on the balcony which wasn't pleasant, my whole room stunk! There are no non smoking rooms available in this hotel. I just had breakfast included which was great. Loads of choice and all very good. I went out most days so didn't spend all my time here. If you are able then the walk past El Medano up the volcano and beyond is a must. Entertainment at night was loud but didn't run past midnight. If you do want early nights ask for a high floor. I think if I had paid top whack and wanted to spend all my time here on an all inclusive basis I'd have been quite dissapointed. As it was the staff were good, the sun was shining in Febuary and I had a pool to swim in so I was happy.
Booked it as a 4star ,however I believe it's now been downgraded to a 3star and I can understand why! First complaint is the cleaning, just not enough staff to keep it clean cutlery, plates, cups and especially glasses really need attention we had to wipe everything before using it's like they've been through the dishwasher and put straight out. Again short staffed so tables were left not wiped down most of the time there was just 2 on to cover everything including when people wanted wine list Lack of glasses and cups is a big problem during mealtimes and I'd say it was only at 60% capacity. Food was good plenty of choice obviously recycle some things into stews etc but no complaints, there was always something to choose from plus they have some theme nights chinese and mexican No snacks to be had between breakfast and lunch or between lunch and dinner just leftover pastries from breakfast around 3pm at the pool bar. You have to Pay extra for bar snacks such as crisps ice cream, slushies really not much for your all inclusive money. Rooms are decent enough except for the noise from the nightly entertainment which can be heard in every room as its situated right in the middle on the ground floor. The tv's are smart tv's but don't work as such( we asked ) so you can't log into your own netflix/prime etc bit stupid installing them . You can connect it via mirror screen app So the spa ! Main reason we chose this hotel was because it had a spa. Absolutely disgusting there's paint peeling off the ceiling above the grotty pool and every now snd then a bit drops off, the waterfall taps dont work, tiles missing , very dangerous loose and rusted handrails. The steamroom hasn't been cleaned properly for months its vile ! and the sauna you can't use its rotten full of splintered timber I cant describe how bad it is . Needs ripping out and replacing the spa is not fit for purpose plus they have the cheek to charge you 15€ to use it . The massage we had was 60€ each and very average my wifes was good . Plenty of sunbeds to choose from around the pool however the disabled ones have prime location and strictly policed by the lifeguard no issues with people putting towels down. The entertainment guys one was OK Jonathan but Miguel had the most annoying put on squeaky voice which he constantly shouted no escaping that fella. "Let's go " is all you can hear all afternoon Hotel itself isn't the most attractive from the outside but location is quiet and a nice 10 min walk into the little town. Overall very disappointed and a now 3 star hotel with 2star cleanliness and a spa that needs a total refurbishment when we paid for 4star hotel and spa
This hotel desperately requires some TLC. On the positive, the rooms are big, views amazing and staff are wonderful. Food was plentiful, you always find something yummy, not all cooked to same standard. On the negative, furniture is old and damaged, dirty looking even with the best effort of the cleaning team. Spa should be condemned until refurbished, pool was dirty, paint hanging in strips overhead, hand rails all loose, foost (mould) evedent throughout, sauna covered in wood shavings, steam room dirty, even the key was on an old hair band and we got to pay €30 for the pleasure of 2 hours, we lasted 20mins. The noise of the entertainment is cleared audible in the room, take ear plugs if you go to bed before midnight. The staff are holding it all together and should be praised for their efforts.
Love this place. 4th here booked for next year too. Thank God hotel is finishing with entertainment. Piano sax good but one of entertainers walking around constantly makes stupid voices like on film police academy. Grow up. Just want peace and quiet thanks. All staff brilliant. Especially ileana in pool bar x
Definitely not 4* hotel. Food on an evening not great all, infact terrible, our last meal was cold chips cold plain pasta and plain cold rice. Food stated it was on till 9.30pm. Staff must not got that memo as they where removing Food and condiments away as we went to server our self Food at 9pm and this happened 3 times in our 7night stay. Bar staff in hotel bar on evening more interested being on there phone than serving guest. Bar closes at 11pm sharp. Animation Team made the hotel.
This was our 7th annual consecutive stay at this hotel. As always we found the staff to be really friendly and helpful . Our rooms were cleaned every day and we love the gorgeous sea view. Food and drinks were really good ,always a great choice , seafood, meat dishes and lots of fish. The entertainment guys were excellent , great effort to include everyone and so funny. Evening entertainment suited us just fine in particular we enjoyed the vocalist ( i did read a very rude comment about him being rubbish ) he really wasnt , we loved him . Maria at the bar is always lovely and the pool guy is very diligent in his work and very helpful !!. All in all another fab hol and cant wait to return
Reception - we found the staff friendly and very helpful . Bar 🍸 - Local beer 🍺 , local red and white wine 🍷 , there is a cocktail menu for all inclusive and spirits are premium brands which is the normal at most inclusive hotels . Restaurant - usual all inclusive help yourself food , only disappointment on a personal note was not the daily availability of ' Canarian potatoes ' Hotel room - ours was very clean , shower 🚿 was powerful , shower / hand gel / shampoo is provided. Fridge and tea/coffee making facilities are provided. Pool area - plenty of sunbeds were available during our stay , pool was clean and great views of the sea 🌊 , beach ⛱️ and dormant volcano 🌋 😀 in the distance. Hotel does provide some shuttle bus services to markets in nearby towns which are 15 euros 💶 each return . El Medano the nearest town is a 20 minute walk all on the straight , bars , mini supermarkets and some shops are there . Hotel is about 12 minutes drive from Tenerife South airport 🛫 🛬 . We enjoyed our stay and thought it was good value for money . Tips - bring some pegs for your towels when sitting by the pool
Lovely and professional staff. You get meeted at reception by personell with a kind smile, they are professional, kind, helpfull, do an excellant job giving overall fantastic service. They gave us an exceptionnal first impression, and great service further on in our stay. Great food, with variations at dinner, and nothing missing at breakfast or lunch in our opinion. Perfect location, right by a nice beach, and a nice walk to the town.
What could improve, is the spa at the hotell. We recommend a general upgrade of the whole fascility. We would have liked one double bed.
Amazing hotel, perfect, great location, awesome staff, very friendly and professional, delicious food.
What a fantastic 4 night break me and my husband have just had. 10 minutes from the airport to be greeted by a lovely receptionist. The room wow!! Spotless and the view was magnificent. Pool area kept lovely and clean and the lifeguard man who speaks no English what's so ever and us no Spanish however we still managed conversations together. He was so sweet found us the best spot to chill away from the breeze on my birthday. 🫶🏾. The food was lovely really tasty and be sure to grab a hot plate from the side it does help 😋. Jonathan and Miguel what a great duo I called them the "chuckle brothers" ones laid back and the other is in a world of his own 🤣. Really enjoyed getting involved with the day time games with these two characters. Overall I would throughly recommend this hotel and we'll be sure to return. Thank you 😊
Good location Very dated facilities Spa a joke nothing working/dirty/ sauna falling apart Rooms cold Bedding old & worn Sofa had marks on it that I don’t even want to say wat they were had to put a blanket on to cover Atmosphere was good Get what you pay for No character
Returned from Arenas del mar hotel 14th January a Jet2 holiday. Mixed review about hotel. Overall the hotel was very clean. Room was spacious and we had a lovely sea view. Myself and friend enjoyed the spa, nice touch of voucher for two having booked a sea view room. Entertainment was maybe not the best but enjoyed the saxophonist who was really good. We just wanted a relaxing holiday so weren't too fussed. Re Jonathan (Animation team) he was a very pleasant young man and worked hard at involving people in activities, always taking time to chat and ask about your day. Pool area nice and plenty beds or chairs to sit. The downside was the food in restaurant. Restaurant itself is well set out and lovely views. Unfortunately food let it down, food that should be warm wasn't. Microwave provided but this shouldn't be needed. No one at door of restaurant to welcome you or check overall if things were running smoothly. We had an email from jet2 shortly before holiday to say they had changed their rating from a 4 star to a 3 and think it might be because of problems with restaurant
Spacious room, lovely pool. Staff nice and excellent breakfast buffet
The noise at night from karaoke etc was really bad
Personal
Lage {Einflugschneise), sehr laut, Frühstück extrem schlecht , dunkle Zimmer,
This is a beautiful eco friendly hotel on the seafront. The wonderful and hard working staff are friendly, professional and cannot do enough to help you. The cuisine is excellent, there is something for everyone and a wide variety of delicious fresh fish, meat and vegan options at every meal. The hotel rooms are very spacious and are well appointed. The hotel is kept immaculately clean and the evening pianoist and trombonist are wonderful. The heated outdoor swimming pool is superb and there is also an amazing spa. We cannot thank Vicky , Head Receptionist, enough for making our 8th stay in Arenas del Mar extra special, as well as Charlotte at reception and Maria and Eleanor at the bar. Thank you to all the hard working staff at this wonderful hotel which Imwould rate 4 star plus. We look forward to returning. Lindy and William
Inkább a csendre, nyugalomra vágyó idősebb korosztályt célozza meg.Aki pezsgőbb éjszakai életre vágyik, annak 20-25 km-t taxiznia kell másik városba, ahol ez adott.
We stayed for 12 nights all inclusive including Christmas Day and really enjoyed it. The food and drinks available were good, the pool area was a sun trap and kept tidy and clean. The hotel is eco friendly with reusable cups by the pool and solar panels on roof. The best thing was the staff, all very friendly and attentive. They spoke good English and remembered you, we didn’t eat out as the food was very good and on Christmas Day the tables all had a bottle of wine and decorations on them. Our room was sea facing and was spacious and was cleaned every day. Some equipment in the gym was out of order but I still managed 4 workouts in there. The spa is a little dated but functional and we enjoyed the complimentary 2 hours in there. A few people were complaining about the food selection and it not being hot enough, I usually tried about 5 different foods each night and enjoyed all of it. Main reason to return here would definitely be the amazing staff.
We chose this hotel for the location, with great walks nearby. We had read so many negative reviews we didn't expect much, especially as we normally book hotels with large, attractive grounds. However we really enjoyed our stay, the food was very good, staff all excellent and very friendly, and unusually for us, even joied in with the entertainment. We really don't understand the negative reviews, yes, not everything was perfect and it isn't a luxury hotel but excellent for the price we paid. Regarding the area, being right on the beach was a massive plus and the walk into El Medano was always enjoyable, we loved the town. There is a stunning natural beach 15mins walk to the east and the walks around red mountain are always stunning. We definitely want to return to the area. The main reasons we are unsure about returning are the drink quality isn't the best (we still drank plenty though) and we really needed a second bar to visit during the day. The beautiful terrace bar doesn't open until 3.30pm, since we aren't sunbathers we needed a change from sitting around the pool. Also since you couldn't access the pool area until 9am it was a shame I couldn't enjoy an early morning coffee in the sun on the terrace. I resorted to doing yoga on the beach instead which was far more healthy! Good hotel with a good vibe, far better than many previous reviews and we had a wonderful holiday.
Pedro hosted us and was absolutely amazing when we stayed over Christmas. He hosted karaoke and was a great sport. 10/10
Absolutely fantastic time here at Arenas Del Mar. Food was amazing with a great variety every day. Marco is a fantastic activity coordinator we did lots of different activities and enjoyed them all. 10/10
We liked very little. I had stayed here 15 years ago and really can’t believe it deteriorated so much.
There is a smell. There is entertainment that is “in your face” I had a treatment that wasn’t great. The air conditioning didn’t work. The breakfast was not edible. I am not a fussy traveller but we left a day early.
Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Balcony nice and private. Staff was really friendly. Breakfast was included and more than enough to choose from.
Room was a bit noisy, as my neighbors were kind of loud. Entertainment in the evening was really loud, but both easily fixed with earplugs.
Flies around the fruit not enticing
We had a very lovely trip there with Marco and Juan Fran, the experience was amazing and good food too Definitely we are looking forward for the next trip here
Came back a week ago with my partner from a weeks all inclusive break. The hotel is gorgeous. In a stunning location next to the sea. A little windy but it was December so it’s to be expected. Also I would invest in some anti fly spray as I think as the weather is cooler more seem to be approaching. The food is nice and plenty of it. The staff are excellent and very helpful. The two entertainers Juan Fran and Marco are hilarious and always trying to get people up and enjoying themselves. We loved the karaoke evenings. A lot of fun. Lots of local restaurants near by as well. If you walk around the corner from the hotel there are three great ones about ten mins away and cheap. I actually got engaged on this holiday so now we will definitely be back. If you can use the spa also. Very relaxing and worth the money. We had a couples massage and used the jacuzzi and had chocolates and cava which was lovely. You get what you pay for with this holiday and it’s worth the money. The pool a little chilly but once you’re in it’s nice. We will be back in the future!!
Couldn’t fault the food selection! 5 different egg choices on a breakfast including omelette! Pool area clean and tidy.
Location was quiet, Half hour walk across beach to main shops . Not really suitable if you have walking difficulties. Food was not very HOT , best part was the Deserts. Hotel very nice, friendly.
