There was a laundry on site and the owner was very friendly and willing to answer any questions we had regarding tourist activities and eateries. The property was well maintained , clean and tidy and guests were given complimentary fudge on arrival - a nice touch! Several of the rooms have been updated with new carpet, painting , bathrooms and kitchenettes.
The hotel is quite a distance out of town bordering an industrial area. It was a long walk into town to access local restaurants and shops.

All in all it was the best motel that I have stayed in ( in both this and a past visit to New Zealand). In addition the motel was well situated for easy access to the city and its varied restaurants. I would thoroughly recommend it.

We liked that the owner gave us the same room we stayed in last visit as someone cancelled. Highly recommend this motel if you want a quiet spot a short walk from town, restaurants, cafes , and grocery shops plus good value. We will be back next time we stay in Whanganui. Thank you.

Walking distance to town, room spacious and exceptionally clean , appliances in new condition ,wall mounted TV with multi chanels, AC a big plus, shower pressure fabulous, seating comfy, our 3 day stay was perfect, fudge on arrival an added pleasure

Reviewed Jan 14, 2026Es war sauber und ordentlich, ausserdem war das Zimmer sehr geräumig. Des Weiteren war eine Dusche und eine Badewanne vorhanden. In der Küche war alles was man brauchte und die Betten waren sehr bequem.
Bei genauerem Betrachten sind hier und da einige Kleinigkeiten in die Jahre gekommen, könnten vielleicht mal ausgebessert oder erneuert werden, aber letztendlich will ich da nicht auf Dauer wohnen und für ein paar Nächte ist alles gut. Wir waren trotzdem zufrieden und es hat uns gefallen.
