Hotel Lake Brunner

Location is good.

The pictures online were from the hotel behind the old hotel. I was given an old hotel room. Which I guess is fine, but it was right next to the restaurant. So we heard conversations through the shared wall all day/night long. Then at late night the bar music was turned up loud, and people were talking over it, we luckily had earplugs to wear, but I don’t think we should have to wear earplugs when we’re on holiday at a hotel.

The location is amazing! Great views of the lake from the family room. The rooms were small but comfortable.

There could be a better way to help tourists use the laundry services. It is coin operated, while I hardly believe any tourist carries coins. They had no clear explanation on how to get coins and weren’t willing to charge it to my card while giving us the coins to use.

Super friendly, great people and food. Had an amazing stay in a quaint authentic West Coast hotel. Great bar drinks.

Rooms aren't very sound proof had some noisy neighbors. Only 1 shower.

I think some information in the room would be helpful about walks things to do. Where the shop is etc. also a warning about what I take was the fire siren at 1244 am. We had no idea whether or not it was something we needed to be concerned about or not. A bit frightening. Better directions to our room. It was raining when we arrived and didn’t realise that the acccommodation was up the back drive. These are only meant as helpful suggestions as it was a really nice stay.

Great rooms and levels as an apartment. Exceeding my expectation for the apartment for the prices. Loved our stay

The staff were very helpful and friendly, the view from our room was gorgeous and the hotel and dining room were very cosy and comfortable on a cold night. We really enjoyed our 2 nights in Moana, and recommend doing the walk along the lake through the forest.

La couverture chauffante, car le chauffage marchait plus ou moins bien et gardait la chambre très froide. Le déjeuner continental était bien et apprécié. Très beau lever de soleil sur le lac le matin.

Les toilettes dans notre chambre étaient très vieilles, la ventilation refroidissait encore plus la pièce et la douche aurait eu besoin d’un très bon scrub. La chambre était mal insonorisée.

The beds were comfortable.

The bathroom is very run down. The room was quite cold when we arrived and took a long time to warm up. Some kitchen equipment such as a sharp knife and chopping board were missing.

We didn’t know in advance that there was no cooked breakfast until 11am. So we missed what looked like some great choices.

This was my first visit to Lake Brunner. Despite the weather at the time I found the hotel very warm and hospitable. The staff and service was great, the food was exceptional during my time there. I had the mass breakfast one morning which was awesome beside the coal fire.. The hotel was very clean, the bed was very comfortable. I thought that the overall experience was awesome and I will definitely be back, I have no negative comments Thank you to the team, both at reception, bar and service staff who delivered excellent service to my table.

Kingfisher menu was great but it would be a good choice of eggs,bacon,beans,sausages and toast. The breakfast was affordable they could easily add more and increase the price accordingly

We knew it was an older property so didn't expect 5 star luxury. However a shelf in the bathroom, some liquid soap and shower gel would be nice. The shower cubicle was very small, my 6'2" husband struggled!

Had everything we needed. Nice strong shower. Comfy bed and lovely view. Meal in the hotel was nice and bar staff very nice, friendly and helpful.

There was a heater in the room.

The bathrooms were with the toilet and shower at the same time and they were not a lot so if anybody needed to go to the toilet, they had to wait until somebody else was finishing shower and it was very cold in the in the shower area and in the kitchen. And the fact that the Hot pools had to be paid was something that I wasn’t expecting I thought it was included in for free.

Our room was beside the kitchen for the bunk rooms and was noisy until 1am when I had to put earplugs in. Possibly a staff bunkroom? The bathroom was very small, could hardly move in the shower stall and handbowl teeny tiny.

The property was incredible! We had a one night stay from our Tranzalpine journey from Christchurch to Greymouth and it was the perfect little relaxation spot! The apartment was stunning, 2 floors with a beautiful view of the lake! The owner of Hotel Lake Brunner was lovely and very welcoming :) we were also very lucky to have an incredible view of the stars and Milky Way from our balcony!

Absolutely nothing we didn’t like! If I could request one thing it would be sun loungers in the balcony so we could just stare up at the stars for longer!

Affordable stay, conveniently located. Opted for the shared bathroom option. There was an ease of check-in/check-out and plenty of parking, the location is quite central, and good value for money relative to alternatives

If I stayed again, I would opt for a room with a private bathroom. However, for the price, the shared bathroom was acceptable. The proximity to the pub did make it quite noisy at night, and the wifi was a bit slow.

Nice accomdation, in a great location, with awesome views. Great pub in front of hotel.

The unit was clean and comfortable but could do with some maintenance. The food at the pub infront was really good apart from the Chinese banquet on Sunday. We were the one of the first people to the Chinese banquet but found the food was quite cold. I let the service team know that the food we had was cold but the man in charge disagreed, didn't apologise or offer any alternative.

La musique très forte toute la journée au restaurant,qu'in entendait depuis notre chambre. La douche ou il fallait être très grand pour ouvrir l'eau.

The room overall was nice, but the bathroom was disgusting. Mold in the bathroom was terrible not to mention all the hair / pubes in the bathroom shower and on the floor. We did complain and a lovely lady came back to clean it but when you are paying so much per night i would expect the room to be perfect and spotless!!!!! For paying over $400 per night it definitely was not worth that. Terrible and would not stay here again

Great view

We were put in the hostel part of the hotel which we had no idea at the time of booking. Toilet seat was broken. Couldn’t turn around in the shower it was so small. There is only one place to eat and we had lunch and dinner there. Both meals were less than average and the cost did not reflect the poor quality of food.

Excellent location, spacious room, 5 minutes walk to lake, nice surroundings, Moana train station is under 10 minutes walk.

ordinary breakfast but the lady at the counter was very courteous to provide me breakfast after it was finished.
