Amals Stadshotell, BW Signature Collection vs Similar Hotels

Several comments indicated that the rooms were outdated and needed renovation.

Rooms are described as 'helt okej' with 'bra sängar' for many, but there are repeated mentions of too-soft or small beds, missing AC and some outdated bathrooms — mixed-to-average.

Some reviews mentioned issues with cleanliness, including outdated and possibly moldy conditions.

Multiple reviews repeatedly note 'rent', 'välstädat' and 'välstädade rum' and 'städningen perfekt' — overall strong cleanliness impressions.

Many reviews highlighted the excellent central location of the hotel.

Location is good for motorway/through-travel (near E45) and parking, but several guests note it's a walk (≈2 km) to Åmål centrum and some complain about road/tough transport noise.

Positive mentions of friendly and helpful staff were consistent in the reviews.

Service is frequently praised: 'trevlig personal', 'fantastisk hjelpsomme', 'personal sehr freundlich' and 'trivelig personale' indicate consistently very positive staff interactions.

Good feedback on breakfast quality, though some items were noted as mediocre.

Breakfast is frequently highlighted as a strong point ('bra frukost', well-stocked with many options) though a few guests found it merely 'ok' or 'trist' — overall positive.

Limited mentions of amenities, but those that were mentioned were mostly positive.

Amenities show gaps: free parking and Wi‑Fi praised, but guests mention no restaurant, no lobby to sit after 19:00, missing bathroom products and lack of AC — below the hotel average.

Some reviews expressed dissatisfaction with the pricing compared to the room quality.

Several guests call it 'prisvärd' or 'rimelig overnatting' and note reasonable pricing (example: kr 1200 for 2 incl. breakfast) — generally good value for a stopover hotel.
