Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Our stay at this hotel was, for the most part, excellent. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, the room was spotless, and the bed was very comfortable. The location was also perfect for what we had planned. We would have given this a five-star review, but the room was missing a refrigerator and the parking location was far, which was a significant inconvenience during our stay. If a mini-fridge had been available and the parking place closer, it would have been a perfect experience.
Great place to stay . Close to everything. Housekeeping staff was wonderful . I was confirmed a room on the 1st floor due to difficulty climbing steps . Upon check in I was told it wasn’t available . It’s ok just be up honest and don’t confirm what you can’t deliver . Small maintenance issue in room. Should be checked periodically . Enjoyed stay .
A very well located historic property. Close to many restaurants, public squares, and museums. Great for exploring the city by walking or by short taxi rides. The staff was very helpful especially considering our Spanish was not very good.
No hot water. Couldn't take shower before checking out.
Clean hotel
Nice hotel, some rooms are too small, I was lucky that I was moved to another room with no problem, very helpful staff.. It was a nice stay and will stay again for sure!
Small hotel with necessities and breakfast very clean environment. Muy limpio cómodo . Muy cerca de todo gente amable y profesional. No hay piscina
Colonial style building ,many rooms facing in onto the inner courtyard. Insect screen on the windows. Lounge areas on each level. Simple furnishings but huge bed taking up most of the floorspace. Fixed shower. Breakfast very simple and served to order in courtyard on ground floor. Very well located to explore Campeche on foot. Stayed one night only as part of a small group tour.
No dormí nada, había contrición dentro del edificio a las 3 am. No volvería a quedarme ahí.
Había construcion a las 3am como si estuvieran derribando algún muro y no pudimos dormir nada. Es céntrico pero el espacio de los cuartos es pequeño.
Clean , excellent staff , close to 59 th street and close to the malecon .
Bathroom was not cleaned prior to arrival. Water was never cold. Besides these things, the hotel was fine.
Booked the room at this location as a romantic retreat for my wife and I. Paid for a nice big room with a romantic view of the historical area, only to arrive and find out that the window is covered with paint and cenment for construction on the building and the buildings around it. Didnt get a discount or another room to make up for it. Service could be better.
Very nice staff and so convenient.
The staff was very friendly but the room was not in the best condition and The parking lot was two blocks from the hotel
Terrible service, we had to switch rooms twice because of the horrible humidity smell, and later in the night because the AC stopped working, the water to shower was very cold and worst the employees were very rude saying they couldn’t do anything to fix the issues with the room. Also due to the restaurants outside the hotel the music and noise what very high all night up to 3am.
Check in was painful, otherwise was clean, pleasant and charming, but the third floor was challenging with not Potter service
Great location. Staff should be more friendly.
Well situated, helpful staff, impeccable
It was very clean, Staff was helpful and friendly and it is located in a good area for walking. Internet wireless access was not the best as we constantly have to log in and the devices will get disconnected continuously. There was construction going on at night in the same building but not the hotel. Staff was made aware of this and took corrective action,
Stayed here for 2 nights, 3 days. Staff at reception were pleasant and helpful. Hotel is in Centro on Calle 10, so traffic noise might be an issue for light sleepers. Add to that "Restaurant Row "Calle 59 is right around the corner so all the restaurants and street musicians noise continue well into the late night. Our room was standard and pretty small. Double bed was comfy but tight for 2 adults. Hotel didn't offer any queen or king options. Also no fridge in the room or access to an ice machine. We did get bottled water daily. Room had a small window, but hard to see anything outside as it was a bit high up. We were hoping for a balcony as seen in the picture but seems there's not too many of those rooms. Hotel also has no elevator if you have mobility issues. We only saw 2 rooms on the ground floor facing the courtyard where breakfast is served and they're not very private. Breakfast itself was ok, with hot and cold options. We paid extra for it, but I would recommend going outside the hotel for better options. One thing that really bothered me was the drain smell in the bathroom. We had to make sure we kept the bathroom door closed which helped a little. We liked the city itself but we're glad we only had a short stay as we also found prices on restaurant row - Calle 59 - a bit expensive.
Filthy Room. We paid twice because we went down the street to book another room that was clean. The staff was very nice.
This is a pleasant hotel in a lovely old building. The one downside is that many of the rooms do not have windows and I think this should be made clear on the Expedia website. We managed to move to rooms with windows but would not have been happy if we had not been able to do this.
Although the hotel is in a lovely colonial building very close to the city centre and the decor is beautiful, there are no elevators and our room was on the third floor. I have severe osteoarthritis in my hips, so getting up and down the stairs was a challenge. Luckily a bell boy took the suitcase up (and down again). We were on a tour and only stayed one night, but in the morning when we went down for breakfast, we were told that only "box lunch" was available, and a very poor effort at that! A sandwich, a cake, a smoothie drink, a milk drink and a bruised apple. Even coffee wasn't being brought out. Oh, and due to its central location, it was quite noisy in the room even with windows closed. Finally, it was lucky that I can communicate in Spanish!
Staff at desk absolutely not helpful. The woman at the desk ignored my requests and questions. Music playing in the whole hotel and could be heard in the room from morning till late evening. Room I booked was not available. Only staff who take care of the room were friendly and did their job properly. There is no manager supervision the young staff and the business in this hotel, everyone is free to do as they like!
NICE PLACE TO STAY IN DOWNTOWN AREA, NEAR ALL TOURIST PLACES
Beautiful hotel. Very good location in the centre of Campeche. But a lot of noise at night from the Calle 59 till 2 o’clock. We put a blanket between the windows and the wooden panels to reduce the noise, this did a good work. Breakfast was good.
Everything and everyone were excellent!
Towels were in rags, very tiny rooms with bo windows, horrible bathroom, very poorly maintained. Very expensive for what you get.
The hotel staff was responsive to our needs. We had requested a ground floor room and they went out of their way to provide it. My wife has some difficulty with stairs and the front desk clerk noticed that and made arrangements for our breakfast to be served to us on the patio on the ground floor. Thank you!
Off site parking can be a deal breaker and , I didn’t notice it when I booked. So that’s on me. The bigger problem was no concierge! I am 68 years old and carrying my luggage upstairs was a problem.
Very clean, centrally located room. Some rooms have a wonderful balcony that looks out onto the street, lovely, but this allows for very loud party strret scene into the room and it goes til 2 am.
Great location. However, sheets and towels need to be washed. The towels and bedding is dingy. The bathroom should be scrubbed daily.
the hotel is well located within walking distance to restaurants, bar.
Everything was perfect. The hotel very close to the main Central Park and the amazing Catedral. Will be nice if the hotel has its own restaurant and maybe room service. The room was very nice and quiet. Good for take a rest.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff were friendly but they could not locate my Expedia reservation and upon arrival had to fill out many papers to check in. Never had that experience before when booking with Expedia.
Noisy
The hotel room was not insulated from sound. I was unable to sleep well.
Breakfast not included, even though the desk implied that it was. It was awful: inadequate, unappetizing, and overpriced. Cold, weak coffee is a bad start to a day in Campeche.
A nice enough hotel in a good location with an easy walk to the main town centre sights. Our room wasite small but perfectly adequate, though you wouldn;t want very long legs when using the loo! There isn't a lift. Our room overlooked the street in Campeche where all the lively bars are but, in the event with the air conditioning on, we weren't disturbed by the noise. There were few smiles from the front desk staff.
I have to admit that this was against our better judgment. We had a beer at one of the establishments on the first floor of this hotel upon our arrival to Campeche. We asked our server if it gets lively at night and he said yes. After booking on hotels.com, we asked the front desk if they had a room that was not on the street. This particular street is the center of action for Campeche and is lined with all the bars that are open till at least 2 o’clock in the morning. We had a long day driving from Merida and seeing three ruins and were looking forward to a good one night stay in Campeche. The front desk indicated that the rooms can be noisy at times, but it was getting late and we didn’t want to explore other Hotel options. In addition, it was a nonrefundable booking we made through hotels.com and didn’t want to argue. The mission hotel is well established in so many cities throughout Mexico. Rather than knowingly give guests a bad experience, why not invest in the future. The reason for my review is because there is a simple solution for the noise. Noise insulated glass windows would solve this problem and the hotel would eliminate this main complaint by so many guests. Most other aspects of our stay were perfectly fine. I appreciate the history, location and friendliness and honesty by the staff. We hope the hotel makes this investment so that future guests can actually get some rest.
Hotel has a nice looking lobby. Unfortunately the small bars that are probably tenants of the building owner are loud until 3:00am. Would have been a ten if they’d use some of that rent for sound insulting windows.
The location of this hotel was perfect. It’s just a block away from the main square. It is an older building and very bright with a lovely inner courtyard. The cold drinks offered in the lobby were very appreciated. Our room was 311. It had two double beds which was fine however we had booked a room with one queen so it was not what we were expecting. Our room overlooked Calle 59 which at night becomes a pedestrian corridor full of restaurants and bars. Be prepared to fall asleep to the beat of music and laughter of those enjoying the night life below. We would not recommend having breakfast at the hotel as it was not very good.
This hotel was right in the historic centre. The bedroom was nicely furnished and comfortable. But the reception had the personality of a damp towel which made it rather miserable to stay here on your own. They did help me make arrangements but had very little spoken English.
It is a good Hotel with great location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is comfortable enough and according to the colonial architecture of the zone. The only downside: Breakfast area is just outside the room door (only in one level of the building), so you can be woke up by the conversations of the people there. In this stay, there was no many people, so the noise was ok.
Great location!
Just a quick overnight in Campeche. Nice, central location.
I love how its very colonial. the nuild has kept its charm
Especially the personnel was very kind and helpful
Excellent location. A little noisy but mainly the foreign people that arrive at night
Excelente location! But the property is next to the 59 st which is next to the Bars & Restaurant a migo is very noisy and can’t sleep from all the drunk people being to happy and singing there music of choice, if you planing to wake up early or sleep get a room inside not the street side.
The hotel is very well located but it is noisy. We could sleep well because of the loud music of the bars outside. The room is very small. They serve early breakfast but they make a lot of noise . The restaurant it´s just outside our room .
Great location!! Right in the middle of the historic district. Their staff defines service excellence. I can't thank them enough. On the downside, the hotel can be noisy at night from noise coming from the street; my room was very austere in furniture, no chest drawer to place clothes and only a very small round table that did not allow me to work with my laptop. Definitely not a business-friendly room. Don't know if other rooms were as small as mine.,
We thought breakfast was included but learned it was not. The eggs and pancakes were cold because they let the flame go out. The cost of the room was more than we expected also with the Mexican tax added.
A historic nuilding, this no elevator, but very well kept and great staff.
Very nice except the noice from the bars in the streetnext tothehotel
Very lovely, great location, clean with a central courtyard.
Good location and OK rooms Screwed up our booking so one of us had to sleep on the floor the first night
A nice colonial hotel in a very central downtown location. Can be a bit noisy with rock music from adjoining bar.
The hotel is next to a discobar. The music was played very loud until 3am. I am not usually disturbed by noises but this was so loud that we thought it was a concert. I would not recommend it if you want a quiet night. In the morning when I enquired at the reception they just laughed about it.
Campeche is a very beautiful city and this hotel is close to the principal atractions.
This charming hotel is very well situated to the main square and everything else. The staff are very helpful and nice. Be warned though, that it can be noisy. Especially Friday nights with thumping music right there until 3 AM.
On a fifty year old building in downtown Campeche, Hotel Misión America Center. Nice place, good rooms (though I had no air conditioned in my room), good breakfast, friendly personnel. Two floors up rooms may be a little uncomfortable to climb, as there is no elevator. A lot of noise around the corner on weekends, full of restaurants and music until 2AM must be met with ear protection or sound isolation from the hotel.
This hotel isn't a HOTELES MISION hotel. The name is misleading.
Perfect location, a block from the main square and about two from the Malecón. I asked for a quiet room and got one on the second floor facing the internal courtyard. Some noise from tour groups having breakfast from 7.00am but much better than those facing the street and the hotel's beer bar. Overall, if you get a quiet room, take it.
This beautiful hotel looked truley wonderful when we first arrived. Traditional spanish style and well kept throughout the reception area and central strip which leads into each of the rooms. Our room however was awful and from peering into the other even more pricey rooms they looked just as bad. No natural light, broken cable and television and the beds were hard, itchy and uncomfortable. The bathroom was pretty bad too, the shower had terrible pressure and leaked water all over the floor and into the bedroom. We asked for help with our cable which had no sound and poor reception but were told repeatedly that someone was coming to help but they never did. Very overpriced for a terrible hotel in a boring city.
The hotel is in a very beautiful spot on a picturesque street which is located close to the main square. The setting is attractive and the building is historic and set around a peaceful courtyard where you can get a good breakfast. The rooms at the front on the 1st floor are spacious and though simply furnished are clean and pleasant with balconies that look over the street below. However this peaceful atmosphere is distinctly changed after nightfall- especially at the weekend. We live in Central London and are familiar with urban sounds......this is something else. From the bars directly below the rooms blasts cacophony of Mexican dance music played at such a volume that sleep is not an option until they close at 2am. The staff are very polite and when we complained they showed us other rooms but they were all situated above the bars. The noise is not so bad during the week when the bars close earlier.
Nice clean hotel in the heart of the colonial quarter. Beds were good, and one could have coffee and breakfast at the cafe in site.
The hotel is nice enough and the staff are helpful and nice. The shower head was broken and leaked all over the walls and the room was noisy (party in the street till 3am)
In historical area. Close to everything you want to see. We enjoyed it.
We ALWAYS choose MISION the chain hotels. This time some sort of party was going on in the street and we couldn´t sleep. No elevators. The staff VERY pleasant, and they very KINDLY accepted the fact that we erroneously arrived on the wrong day. They didn´t make us pay for a new reservation. Nice people… Wi Fi was a bit weak in our room. But a good stay.
Great service, close to everything , comfortable room in great setting
All was good except internet did not work. The staff seemed somewhat indifferent about it. I book places to have internet to keep track of my rentals at home so it was a concern to me
Very nice, I like the location and the service. Will definitely stay here again.
Hotel public areas colonial style and attractive. Room large but simple in the Mexican style. Very high ceilings. Wooden balcony doors. Great location two blocks from zocalo. On pedestrians only street. However our room was on second floor directly above restaurant thumping disco music every night. Workers painting (upkeep is obviously good) stood on our balcony yelling to each other while loudly scraping paint off exterior - all beginning at 7:00 in the morning. Front desk not welcoming or responsive. Ok hotel. Probably can find better in this price range. Centro historico of Campeche is lovely though.
We loved the old charm of the hotel and the bell boys who spoke english were very helpful.I do think the girls at reception should speak a little english.
This hotel is in the heart of the Historic Center of Campeche. I highly recommend it since you can be in the heart oif downtown and walk (or run) 3 minutes and you will be in the "Malecon". The manager of the hotel is extremely friendly. There is a GREAT bar inside the hotel. The beer and the environment ARE GREAT! The Breakfast is HOME MADE and freshly prepared... Breakfast run until 11 am but if you are late, they still will make you breakfast! I will be back in that hotel every time I go to Campeche!!!
Nice classic older hotel 3 blocks from a beautiful spanish church and town square and 4 blocks from the ocean boardwalk....but we were there on a friday night and the noise coming in from the traffic and the bar restaurant to our room was very loud.Good thing we were tired and put pillows over our heads...staff was nice, room was pretty good so for the price it worked well for us...note of caution:if you are driving a rental car northbound in Campeche along the inland highway to Campeche City watch out for the Seguridad cops who could shake you down starting at 2500 pesos for a made up driving infraction or an actual infraction..we paid 1250 pesos (100 cdn) and did not receive any ticket for 2 made up infractions. The manager at the hotel who spoke english well directed us to the tourist office near the hotel at the boardwalk and the city/tourist/seguridad police got involved and we got the exact 100 cdn dollars we paid out to that cop 4 hours later...If it happens to you GO ONLY to the Tourist Office first and demand your rights but try and not identify the cop, just get your money back...hopefully this warning helps out other tourists who want to drive there
It is located in the heart of Campeche, but this advantage is the main one. On top, if you travel with a car - they have very close pivate parking! The pictures doesm't show that it is not new, and we had noise in the room (re-innovations). we had to move to another room.
we stayed here for 2 nights which is more than enough to visit the city of Campeche. the hotel was acceptable, especially because we had a good price and an excellent location. however water leaked into our room after a big thunderstorm, luckily we were in the room and managed to move our belongings before they got all wet. we reserved online through hotels.com with an option that included breakfast, but the hotel denied this and tried to make us pay extra for breakfast. we had to discuss with the manager and finally it was all fine, but they seem to struggle with their reservation system.
I was allowed to check in earlier at 9 am went straight to sleep. The next morning I was waken up by the adjacent patio cleaning crew according to the hotel reception desk.
The hotel is very well located, only a few minutes walk from the Central Plaza. We arrived much earlier than check-in time, but were accommodated with a room that was ready (the perps of travelling offseason!). For an insight of a typical Campeche building, this is the place to stay. Breakfast is not included, but the hotel offers a nice and affordable restaurant on its main floor. Cleanliness is not its strong attribute: the sheets were stained. Aside from that, I recommend Hotel Mision Campeche America Centro Historico.
The hotel is really cute very conveniently located. The rooms were clean and neat. The only thing is that the wifi didnt work on my laptop or phone it was a bit frustrating. Overall its a nice place to stay.
The hotel is a beautiful old house in the center of Cozumel so the location is excellent and the inside patio is very pretty. The rooms are very disappointing though. Our room was not clean, it was small, very dark and the bed was very hard. It's a shame because the entrance looks very promising but the rooms don't make you feel very confortable.
The hotel seemed a bit tired. The air conditioner made a lot of noise but didn't produce much cold air. The WiFi didn't reach the top floor. Breakfast was a bit of a shambles. But - a lovely location in a nice town.
The hotel location was very convenient to shopping, restaurants and the plaza and let us experience carnival while we visited. It was quiet and the beds were comfortable. The staff were polite, friendly and very helpful with calling a taxi and sending our laundry out for cleaning.
Great. we loved our room with doors opened to a balcony. A/C and fan if you need them. Comfortable beds, great shower, plentiful purified water, tastefully decorated room, plus a TV.
Excellent place to visit for 3 days
There was a bed, a tv, and a bathroom, so it served those purposes. The room's window was obscured by the air conditioner, so there was very little natural light in the room. One of the two VERY dim (very unreadable by) bulbs was burned out; I asked for a replacement my first day but it never arrived. No hot water on the third of three nights. Wireless works only in the common areas. No free coffee, but a not-too-bad, American-priced breakfast was available. Lobby staff was very nice and helpful.
Hotel location was superb otherwise everything else needs a revamp!
2 blocks from the central plaza! Staffs are nice and willing to help but their English is barely ok. Bathroom has a funny smell but not too bad, overall positive experience, worth the price.
Campeche is al small town, and staying right in the centre makes sense. The hotel was clean, wifi, parking and breakfast were available... It's a good place, nothing more, nothing less.
First, they need to improve their reservation system. I booked the 2 rooms 4 months I advance, I confirmed the reservation to the hotel a few days before arriving, but when I arrived with my family, they only had 1 room left, we had to negotiate during half an hour before getting the 2nd room! Then the rooms are quite noisy, specially those looking at the street (the location is great, the city center, but that mean a lot of traffic and people walking down the windows...) or those close to the reception on the 1st floor. Third, the personnel serving the breakfast doesn't know its job, bringing the bread but no knife or jam (we had to wait 20 min before getting all pieces once they started to serve the 1st part). But then the location was very practical, the hotel very clean, nicely decorated, a quiet patio during the day... It could a great experience if your room is a quiet one and if the hotel didn't loose trace of the reservation!
This is a classic little hotel in a great location and really nice staff. Be sure to see the room though as some of them are better than fine while other are a tad dodgy. Had breakfast in the hotel the second morning and it was surprisingly good and not pricey.
On the positive side, the hotel was near the center of Campeche. However, we cannot recommend this particular hotel. We booked two rooms. Neither which we consider to be clean by Yucatan standards. Both rooms had terrible views. The hotel brochures available at the front desk clearly advertise an included breakfast; However, they will tell you there is no such thing when you inquire. The hotel staff will not be helpful at all when you inquire about activities in the area; nor will they have a useful map for you.
really good location and service,i recommend this hotel, a short walk is the downton, just 1 block
Basic hotel in city centre for short stay, wi-fi (free) works only in the lobby (not inside the guest rooms).
Besides Campeche being a UNESCO site, the benefit in staying in a historic building smack in the middle of it all - and for a bargain price - is hard to beat. The great corner location of the hotel also faces a side street currently used as an outdoor art gallery ie. closed of to traffic. Friendly staff even changed our reservation date without any hassle. Wish we had had more time to enjoy!
very well situated clean and tidy internet easily accessible depending on the room situation in the hotel, our room was a liitle noisy at night from the street breakfast included in our package was not much we would return and recommand this hotel Campeche is a very nice city to visit
Pleasant enough hotel but difficult to find. It is located in the middle of town on a very narrow street. Parking was available but was a fair distance from the hotel.
