Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The hotel has a prime position. The reception is on the East Coast so if you're coming from a ferry then hotel is next to the floating pier. The hotel then runs from east to west with 3 pools, the main one being on the west side where the stunning beach is. When we arrived late afternoon we were excited to see sunbeds overlooking the beach. This soon disappeared when we went to breakfast the next morning as every sunbed around the main pool and overlooking the beach had a towel on them though only a handful had a body sat on them. Management really should do something about this. All the staff we met were friendly and courteous though as it is such a huge hotel we didn't get to know any of them. Breakfast was good, only disappointment was that fresh fruit was limited. We chose the cheapest level of room which was near the reception. It was fairly clean but needed some attention. Air-conditioning vent was dirty, fridge unsightly and water in the shower didn't drain away. It was also very dated. We stayed in 3 places in Thailand, this hotel, despite booking the cheapest room, was the most expensive and the worst. If they can sort out the sunbed hoggers and update/maintain the rooms I'd recommend the hotel for it's position plus the choice in Railay is limited.
We’re returning guests. This hotel isn’t perfect (breakfast is poor and rooms a little rustic) but we returned as it’s a fab location with three lovely pools within walking distance of all railays best bits. However this year a coffee shop has opened on the front and it’s relentless. Hoards of people outside it / taking selfies / walking round pool to shower off before going inside. It needs roping off somehow as they keep coming into the pool area to nose around and literally have no shame posing for photos with their drinks right next to your sun lounger. It no longer feels like the hidden slice of peace in the midst of the day trippers as they all come traipsing round the pool! There’s a token sign but it’s ignored. Not sure yet if we’d come back again a 3rd time
The most incredible service and accommodations we’ve ever had. This is special island and you should stay here to make it the best experience. Make sure you go out of your way to find Pot, his smile and personality are infectious. The entire staff was amazing and the rooms and breakfast were equally beautiful. We thank you for having us and hope to be back. Brian and Nicole from Califonia
We're just checking out now from the Sand Sea Resort, and we had an absolutely amazing time, both at the Resort, and at the whole area of Railay Beach. This is one of the most beautiful places on earth, no question. Highly recommended!
We loved our stay at Sand Sea. The key — believe it or not — was the wonderful bellhop Saman who advised us on good rooms and opportunities, all with a great smile and much kindness. He literally made our stay as lovely as it was. The rooms are very nice — but overtime they will need some updating with better bathroom lighting and electrical plugs on both sides of the bed. The free breakfast is great but the dinner was so-so. We ended up eating at two fabulous restaurants in the “downtown.” So I would give those matters four stars. The hotel does not serve alcohol but you’re five steps away from places that do. This actually is nice because there are fewer late night noisy neighbors. The view by the main beach and pool is simply stunning — the best you’ll see. Other areas are over-developed but you do not feel like you’re in a tourist crush here at SandSea. And the sunset is simply spectacular.
The hotel was in an excellent location. Right on the beach The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was behind reception and staff would take us in a golf trolley to the beach. The rooms were clean and has a air-conditioning. The bed was comfortable. The pool was nice for an early morning swim with great views over the beach, it was nice laying on the sunbeds looking at the amazing rocks and the longtail boats bringing in the day trippers. Breakfast was a buffet style and delicious, the hotel did do evening meals at a good price however we did not eat there. The restaurant does not sell alcohol which was a shame as you could not have a cocktail while on your sunbed however you could buy alcohol to have with your evening meal. There was a nice bar next door where we would go and have a drink throughout the day. If I was staying in this area again, I would go back to the same hotel. Great place to watch the sunset.
This resort is fabulous! Service is quick and efficient and everything is very clean. The Green Curry dish at the dinner restaurant is the best I have ever had, simply delicious! It is right on the beach, with 3 lovely swimming pools. We loved our week there and will definitely go back there again. Five stars from me!
Sand Sea Resort is perched on Railay beach. You get to enjoy views of a quiet and beautiful beach before the crowds arrive around 10 / 11. The resort is very large indeed, with several pools. It’s an amalgam of 2 / 3 resorts which have been combined. For this reason the quality of the accommodation varies significantly. Initially we were put in a “deluxe villa”. It was spacious and perfectly ‘ok’ but dated and far from deluxe. The bedroom , shower room and toilet areas were all on different levels with slippery tiles between each. I am not an old man but I slipped and injured myself (and broke the toilet!). The staff were lovely and we were placed in a brand new room which was absolutely lovely. WHAT a difference. So, in short, good resort but be careful about the rooms. My photos show the modern room.
A very large complex/resort covering both sunset & sunrise beaches. The sunrise side where our bungalow was based has a small pool adjacent to the reception. You can’t really call it a beach as it’s where the main pier is based and when the tide is out it’s more mud than sand. The sunset side is a different story. Stunning view on a lovely beach. Get up early to really enjoy the sight. After 9am the day trippers start arriving and by midday it’s packed. There is another beautiful beach just a short walk away along from the pier through a walk way which I would recommend visiting. It’s the best beach at of them all. The bungalows are large with a big bed and good AC. The bathroom needs a little TLC but it’s ok. The staff were great, friendly & helpful. They arranged both pick from Khoa Lak and departure to Krabi airport. Both longboats and taxis were all on time (we had a 6am departure by boat in the dark). At checkout we were given breakfast bags as breakfast started at 7am. On the subject of breakfast, it was the standard buffet offering, maybe not best we had seen while in Thailand however it’s was fine. Lovely view as the breakfast area is directly in front of the beach. The resort is alcohol free but don’t let that put you off as they are happy to let you bring it in from outside. The main negative hence the 4/5 is there are not enough sun beds around the main pool and they do nothing to stop the classic ‘sun bed towel gang’ who seem to rise before most have gone to bed to save a spot with their towels. I so wish hotels would simply remove the towels if left unattended for more than 60 mins. Many say they will but never do. The beaches are great but a little pool time is nice. The town is busy with many bars and restaurants. Quite a few offer drugs so take that into account. All in all a great visit.
Great location walkable to beach has pool gets crowded. Beautiful beach view. staff are friendly and helpful. Our room is small Noise level good and place is clean great valie for money
Beautiful place, staff so friendly and helpful, always smiling. Great location. Lovely to see so much Natural beauty in and around this resort. Dusky Leaf Monkeys were my daily delight. Room was ovely, clean comfortable and just outside we were able to see the Monkeys as they came to the trees just outside our balcony. This hotel feels authentic and exceeded our expectations for the price.thank you to all the staff for being so welcoming.
It was ok for 2 nights I wouldn’t stay for more . It is more like a 3 than 4* hotel. It was nice to have the pool right next to the beach which stretches right across Railay
Wonderful place with kind and helpful personal! Want to go back! Great view with a pool next to the ocean. The city was cozy with everything you needed.
Was amazing. Beautiful location beautiful people. Service impeccable worth every penny. Food on hotel could be better but it wasn’t bad honestly
I am in travel so honest review. What a lovely hotel. Based on the beach and runs from west to east railey. Staff on reception and concierge are so helpful and smiling all the time. Room are good and clean. Breakfast excellent. There are 3 pools we tended to use pool 3 as at the back of the hotel so quieter. Grounds are kept immaculate. We saw a baby and a larger water monitor. Apparently they have a family of them. We walked to the view point and saw the monkeys. Well worth a walk. Highly recommend and would definitely revisit.
I have travelled a lot through Thailand before, this was the first time together with my wife and 3 year old daughter. We have stayed at the Sea Sand Resort for 4 days during high season and over new years eve. While Rai Leh Beach can be quite crowded throughout the day, Sand Sea Resort offers you a bit of tranquility, since you can escape the busy beach and just relax a bit at one of the resort's three pools located inland. We had junior suite cottage (sunset side) which came with generous space and tasteful interior. Our residence was located in between some trees and one of our daily highlights was to spot the rather reserved dusky langurs who seemed to live up in those trees. Concerning NYE, I must say we were blown away by the gala night that was hosted: Big buffet, beautiful setup (tables and decorations), moderation, fun games and raffles, fireshow at the beach, and a proper stage (the staff did propably twice an all-nighter to build and then again dismantle) on which traditional thai dancers and the famous thai reggae band Job 2 Do performed. What made our stay though really special and memorable, was the amazing staff as they all are attentive, forthcoming and really really kind hearted (shout-out to Saman, Husnee, Hasmin, and the rest of the team!). For my family, I couldn't have wished for a better experience. We will definetly come back
The resort is well located for the local amenities and stretches across both sides. We pre-booked our private airport transfer from Krabi airport with the hotel, and recommend this. It is well organised and seamless for around 2000 baht. The hotel staff are welcoming and eager to help. There are plenty of them, and always helpful The restaurant for food isn’t that great. Both times we ate here the service was very slow, and the order was incomplete or wrong. There are loads of choices in the area, so pick another. We booked an all dayboat tour through the hotel to Phi Phi (5 islands) by private speedboat. This proved to be a poor decision and cost significantly more than local tour operators. The two young lads operating the tour for the hotel arrived 30mins late, and unfortunately spoke very little English. They hammered the speedboat at full power across the sea, so you couldn’t have a conversation and you had to hold on, as it bounced on the waves. About a mile off Phi Phi, the engine overheated, and cut out. They frantically tried to call people on their phone to no avail. By luck the engine cooled and restarted, but was left thinking’ what if’. The boat had no lifejackets either which was a concern. The full day trip finished and we were back at the hotel for 2pm, hardly a full day trip. However, apart from the trip and the restaurant, I would recommend the hotel and staff.
This has been the worst service experience I have ever encountered, especially shocking for a country that thrives on tourism and for a resort that is otherwise well-rated. One of our family members lost her father just before our planned stay. We reached out to Saddened Sea Resort at Railay Beach requesting either a rescheduled stay or even a credit valid for six months or a year, so we could visit at a later time. We were not asking for a refund—just basic flexibility and human understanding during an extremely difficult time. Our requests were denied repeatedly, and worse, many of our emails were simply ignored. There was absolutely no empathy, no willingness to help, and no meaningful communication from the resort management. Hospitality is not just about good views and rooms; it’s about how guests are treated when it truly matters. During testing times, when you expect compassion and professionalism, this resort failed completely. I would not recommend anyone to book this resort. If you’re looking for a place that will treat you with understanding and care during unforeseen circumstances, this is not the place to be.
Sand Sea Resort has an unbeatable location right on Railay Beach. The views are absolutely amazing and make the stay feel truly special. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating—always smiling, helpful, and genuinely caring about your experience. The resort offers everything you would expect from a solid 4-star hotel, plus the bonus of breathtaking surroundings and excellent service. A perfect place to relax and enjoy Railay at its best. Highly recommended.
The hotel has a great location and the beach is beautiful The 3 pools are perfect size and temperature and always plenty of sunbeds The monkeys and the parrot are very entertaining. You should be aware there is no alcohol sold on site but you can get it within a few steps and it’s perfectly ok to bring it into the hotel and consume it wherever you want Some rooms are very modern and other are traditional bungalow/villa style - both are nice. The alternative hotels are next door but this one had the edge on everything I recommend to use the hotel transfers service as (the difference to public/shared services is good value) Thanks you to Rose and the team for a great stay !
A perfect place to stay. Ask for Samman who is a bellman who will carry your bags, buggy you around, walk you anywhere you may need directions to. He is so friendly, the staff is all super friendly.
Beautiful setting for hotel. Kindly upgraded to lovely big room with big balcony. Room had all the amenities (including beach towel, mat and bag for beach). The walk to restaurant is lovely. Good selection for breakfast. Staff very kind and welcoming. Great value for 3night stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The setting is beautiful — the resort’s garden is stunning, surrounded by lush vegetation, monkeys, and a wide variety of birds. The staff are very kind and attentive, and our room was clean, comfortable, and pleasant. The beach is like paradise, and being close to Walking Street allowed us to enjoy lively and memorable evenings. The hotel restaurant could be improved, but there are plenty of other dining options nearby, either in neighboring hotels or along Walking Street itself.
Absolutely fantastic hotel & resort, got an unexpected upgrade which was great! Definitely recommend staying at Railay for at least a couple of nights rather than a day trip with the masses. Great breakfast with ocean views, nice pool & amazing friendly staff
An excellent experience with top notch hospitality. The restaurant food and ambience is good as well. The rooms range from chalets to villas.
We stayed here for one night, it was a great experience. All the staff are very helpful and friendly, mai especially was very kind and keen to help. I really reccomend staying here and hopefully will be back
We stayed in room 202 by pool and restaurant. It was a perfect location and room. I will definitely be going back soon.
Servicio y atención del personal más que excelente, instalaciones geniales, la habitación no correspondía con las imágenes, era bastante antiguo todo.
The check-in and get to the villa was friendly and fast.We were amazied by the stunning looks of the nature in that area. Seeing the first monkey is special, on the last morning it looked like the whole family came to say goodbye on the front porch and that was feeling a bit different. The restaurant has good food and friendly staff, all halal so no alcohol available, which is no problem. The problem is that the cook has some problem with time management since the appetizer and main come at the same time. Or you get the food and your partner will get it when you are finished. To reduce that a bit we ordered the appetizer first, after finishing that, order agian. The resort is clean, I walked a lot on my bare feet without hurting. The whole of Railay beach area is quiet, except for the shopping and restaurant streets, but in general a perfect place to recharge. All together a place we would like to visit again.
fantastic service !!! from the bell man meen, pot and the rest of the staff, so friendly and tip top service. really really happy to be here!!! will always come back. highly recommended to stay in this hotel. ❤️❤️❤️
Best resort in Railay beach, lovely staff and nice breakfast in front of the beach! The room is awesome and I don't have any bad word to say
Sand Sea Resort at Railay Beach is simply outstanding! The room 1313 junior suite is really spacious very well maintained. The view from the resort is absolutely breathtaking with the beach and the mountains right at the doorsteps The staffs are very welcoming and super comfortable, always with a warm smile and a genuine willingness to help. They all speak english and it super easy to communicate with them. A special mention to Nita, the receptionist, who is simply amazing — super friendly, attentive, and always with a smile. Sand Sea Resort is the place to be if yoh are in Rialey. Highly recommended!
Best place to relax at Railay Beach. East or West, Sand and Sea is the best! 😎 We loved the hospitality of the staff. The pool and the breakfast was awesame!
The staff were fantastic. Friendly and accommodating. The surrounding scenery was breathtaking. Wildlife everywhere. Beaches beautiful. Off season was quite which we both enjoyed. Still warm.
It's ok. Very fine everything. Pot madera a great job. And all the employes were so kind. A great place! The beach is perfecto. We love it! We will be back so soon!
The best hotel in our life. Evething amazing, specially the atention of the workers at the hotel, specially Ninee she is the best. Thank for all! See you next year
Excellent location
The rooms were clean but the resort overall is a little tired and old. We also had bungalows right outside our balcony being renovated while we stayed there.
We loved the location being able to access both the west and east side of beach. Very close to walking street with bars, shops and plenty of lovely places to eat. Our accommodation was perfect! Large rooms, poolside bungalow, older, but authentic. (They were actually renovating the block behind us, so I think they will do these rooms next). Needless to say, fantastic shower, comfortable bed, complimentary robes, jandals and beach bag to use while there, and best of all right outside pool 2. We spent alot of time swimming and sitting on the deck/porch. The staff were wonderful and very attentive. From the moment we arrived, we were transported to our room by golf cart and a very chatty and friendly guide (wish I could remember his name sorry) . We had a leaky air conditioner but once reported to reception was fixed with lightning speed! There are locsl monkeys who pay a visit late afternoon so dont leave food on your deck/porch! Breakfast was good and lots of variety. The restaurant is right by the beach, so amazing views! Would so recommend for value and location. Can't wait to come back!
I’d like to start this review by saying we travel extensively and we always come back here for at least a few weeks a year and have done for many years. The resort is in prime position with access to both the sunset and sunrise side. We usually choose the Grand Deluxe Rooms as we have a child and find the size is good and the location is in the middle. The rooms are well maintained and clean. The resort is in the process of major upgrades as well. The breakfast is good with lots of Thai and western choices. They offer 3 swimming pools so none are ever crowded. There is an abundance of wildlife and we love to watch the monkeys and water monitors outside our rooms. What really makes the resort though is the staff. The team is lead by the amazing manager Tong, you can see he genuinely loves his job and wants the hotel to do well. He remembers us year after year and goes above and beyond to ensure our daughter has a magical stay each time. This year we celebrated my birthday here and all the staff wished me the best, the room was decorated and there was birthday cake. They truly made it special. Our daughter has developed a special relationship over the years with Anita, she looks forward to seeing her year after year and Anita is always there to make her day. We are very grateful to her for all of her kindness and can’t wait to see her again next year. She truly is amazing at her job. Once again we thank the staff and look forward to seeing you next time.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. There’s so much to do in the area on top of an enjoyable accommodation at Sand Sea
Very hospitable staff
This property and beach are great! I’m not sure it’s the best one but for us it was perfect. It’s a bit overpriced for Thailand in my opinion. Note: there is a huge trash barge that washed up on the shore right in front of the hotel obstructing the view. It’s going to take a lot of time and money to remove it so it’ll be there a while. This post is 8-9-25. The thing is, all the hotels have this problem on Railay beach so it’s not just Sand Sea’s problem. Overall, loved it!
Excellent in every way, except: no beer in the restaurant, but they will get one from the mini mart. Spectectecular views. Staff are exceptional, even for Thailand.
My only concern was the barge on the beach in direct site of dining… very disappointed
Great location on Railay Beach. It extends to both the east and west beach. We arranged airport transfer from Krabi which seamlessly brought via van then motorcycle cart to a long boat. My mother in law in her late 60’s struggled a bit to get in and out of the boat but managed with some help and when the boat docked sideways. At reception, we were a welcomed with drinks and face towels. We booked two rooms for six nights and were happy to be upgraded with larger rooms closer to West Railay beach. Our room was generally comfortable though the room lighting could be improved. It was especially dim in the bathroom. There was plenty of hot water for bathing though the bathtub water pressure was low. The tub fixtures were also worn and in need of replacing. Breakfast has western and Asian foods with a chef egg station. The buffet oesn’t change much day to day but still has a decent variety. Coffee comes from a Nescafé machine. There is a newly owned Amazon Cafe onsite for slightly better coffee and plenty of other places around the area for better coffee. We ate lunch twice at the restaurant and found it decent but service varied wildly. The first time we went for a late lunch, service was good and quick. Our second time our server was difficult to flag done. My Mother in Law noticed the server was rarely looking in our direction while we were there. Otherwise we dined at the many restaurants on the pedestrian street nearby. The resort is upgrading rooms which didn’t affect our stay beyond noise from work done near our balcony during the day. Hopefully this will extend to all rooms. Railay beach west is a great beach but is also a busy beach with long boats dropping and picking up passengers during the day. It gets better after 5 pm. During our stay, a large rusty trash barge had beached itself in front of our resort’s restaurant which spoils an otherwise amazing view. Supposedly it was due to be removed but the tug boat that brought it also washed ashore and quickly fell apart from the daily tides. Hopefully both will be removed soon. The resort has three pools but we only used the pool closet to Railay West Beach for the best views. Phra Nang beach is a short hike away and also worth checking out. We would stay at Sand Sea Resort again the next time we go to Railay Beach. Tip: the tide can be quite high at times. Bring comfortable water shoes and if you’re going to explore the other beaches, a waterproof pack.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Lovely sized rooms and bungalows
It is an amazing place. The hotel stretches from the east side to the west side of Railay.
This is a lovely hotel, great value for money. Clean and tidy rooms, lovely views. It’s clearly about value for money here, rooms are basic, as is the breakfast, but that’s ok. They were fine. The pools and grounds are gorgeous, the staff were amazing too. I’d definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a very nice, good value, mid range hotel at Railay.
We were fortunate enough to be able to stay for 4 nights at a Poolside Bungalow, right outside 1 of the 3 beautiful pools. Although our bungalow was older it was convenient, clean and comfortable with the best location. From the moment we arrived staff were so friendly and accomodating. We had an issue with the air conditioner and they attended to this at lightning speed. The breakfast was great and of course with amazing beach views. Sand and Sea would suit all, couples young and old, friend groups and families. Could not fault apart from not staying longer!
Property under repair construction in various areas and garbage on beach due to rainy season. Beautiful anyway. Wonderful staff compensates. Will return many times.
Potjanarat and all the staff gave us great customer service, we love staying at Sand and sea and will be back again next year.
Awesome place and very friendly staff! Very welcoming to all and family friendly!
The staff in the hotel are incredibly kind and helpful, special mention to bellboys which also have a great sense of humour :-) The only thing we didn't like at all is the barge and towing boat at the beach which totally destroys the charm of the place.
Old resort, but still charming. Monkeys had shows I could follow from terrace…Friendly staff, specially Elle🙏🏾…breakfast not so good, small pool and bad gym…it was a lot of noice from renovating the resort first day, and I got a free upgrade to a nice bungalow…very nice. Unstable WiFi….location is great. I stayed here 9 days. Thanks, see you again some time
The first thing a tourist needs to know about the peculiarity of the Krabi area in order to choose the best hotel is that during low tide the seabed is sometimes exposed 100 meters from the shore. Because of this feature, the Sand Sea Resort is perhaps the best choice in the Krabi area (just explore on Internet the pictures of the sea line of other hotels during the tide). Staying there allows you to see a picturesque sunrise (east coast) and an even more picturesque sunset (west coast) during the day, as well as beautiful beaches on the west coast. Other advantages of this hotel are large comfortable rooms with a balcony, a decent breakfast right on, literally, the seashore, a very green hotel territory - a real delight for lovers of nature and namely fauna (you can see many beautiful trees, dusky leaf monkeys, hornbills, water monitors and others). The staff at reception and on site were extremely friendly and helpful. Important tip: to the hotel grounds at Railay Beach and from there you can only get by taxi-motorboat - and if it's a random boat, and not booked through the hotel, it will drop you off and take you back right into the water near the shore, so you need to think about the water safety of your suitcases, clothes and shoes. Would I stay in this hotel while visiting Krabi, Thailand? Definitely, yes!
Great place, our room was a little dated but they are renovating. Hot water in the shower was spotty.
This is a pretty nice property right on Railay Beach. So the location is great! It's definitely not the nicest resort I've ever stayed at but overall still worth it especially for the price I paid. The staff was amazing - always helpful, kind, and personable. I wish I would've used the pool area next to the beach and the restaurant because it looked nice.
Love the monkeys and the gardens
Staff were so friendly and helpful
Clean and friendly staff!
Amazing location. Wholesome and good for families. Our room was perfect, cleaned every day, breakfast by the beach every day was beautiful. Close to nearby shops, but away from the drinking party atmosphere. We will be back. Highly recommend!
Great stay. Good value for money.
This place was fantastic, the only downside was we had to leave to go somewhere else. We loved it. Staff where really nice, will definitly come back.
Close to beach and pool - walking distance to everything. Good breakfast and large rooms.
We stayed in a deluxe bungalow for two nights. The space was a good size and given the size of the property, we were 100m from the main pool and the east beach. The shower was in need of some type of pressure but I'm sure not easy given the area. Breakfast was good. Be aware that this property doesn't sell alcohol. Also, there is a massive garbage barge grounded right in front of the property. Maybe not their fault but it's a serious draw back for the surreal surroundings! The staff go out of their way to help and for that we are thankful 🙏
Beds uncomfortable
Great location, right on Railay Beach. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room was adequate except the smell in the bathroom during certain part of the day. Food is good and it was near stores and restaurants. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
The hotel is low level, not more than two stories, so it is like a series of small buildings either single occupancy or rooms. Our room was excellent, large with good facilities. A few things you should know are that getting there and leaving require a minbus, a motorcycle to get your stuff on the pier and a wooden longboat to get to the beach since there are no roads. So, be prepared for that. Also, beware of the monkeys who can be pretty tricky. Otherwise, the scenery is unworldly, maybe the most spectacular beach you will ever see. Side tours are also available, and there is a street with outside restaurants for alternativ dining. Staff were super friendly and helpful when we mislaid a jacket. Definitely would recommend this hotel
A great place on Railay! A lot of construction right now but still an excellent spot for a trip to Krabi.
Stunning location. It is an Islamic hotel, so no alcohol is served on site, however there are several pubs very close by, so it really want an issue. It did also mean that there was no pork served at breakfast which was a bit of a bummer. Otherwise it is a lovely resort.
Outstanding Service from Husnee at Reception! I had an excellent experience thanks to Husnee, the receptionist. From the moment I arrived, she welcomed me with a warm smile and a genuinely kind attitude. She was incredibly helpful, professional, and attentive to every detail. Whether it was answering questions, giving recommendations, or solving any issue quickly, Husnee went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and cared for. She truly embodies what great hospitality means. Thank you, Husnee, for your exceptional service — you made my stay unforgettable!
Lovely jungle + beach. Staff as is typical in Thailand - caring and attentive. This is definitely not a four star hotel as the issues are as follows: 1 a rusting garbage filled beach ship is directly in front of a pristine view of the beach coastline and surrounding limestone cliffs. Rusting and full of garbage. Disgusting 2. Lighting in the rooms are inadequate you have to use your camera iPhone 3. No water pressure in the restroom sink. 4. The drain is clogged and the sink fills up with water. 5. Breakfast might’ve been 3 1/2 star at best but need demoted to 3 star as we and other guests complaining that the coffee from a machine was essentially powder with hot water. Awful 6. Because his hotel evidently is Muslim owned their religious dictates in terms of what can be served and what cannot be served is unacceptable to a vacationing guest. Most would prefer to have an evening cocktail while watching the sunset. Muslims are not allowed to drink alcohol and their rules at this hotel apply to everyone! Discriminatory and unfair especially when it’s not included in the information when you book this hotel. If not misrepresentation it’s misleading. Bottom line - don’t come here for any of these reasons
Efficient and welcome reception was very good. Good resort with easy access to piers East and West. Nice pools and room had good amenities. Good breakfast with omelettes made on demand. The rooms had good a/c, we did not use room service. Had a garden view room which a courtesy upgrade. Staff were all very friendly, helpful and polite.
We had such a wonderful stay at the resort & the staff were all so lovely! Would highly recommend 😊.
Incredible. Pictures are unable to capture th beauty and relaxing nature of this one in a million gem. If you have the opportunity to visit, or even if you think you do not have time for a visit... Make it happen. You will love it. It was the highlight of our whole month around Thailand. Everything about the venue and the surrounding teeny tiny town is beyond belief. It was perfect. Everything about our short four nights here created memories that will last a lifetime. If you love nature, love relaxation, love the beach, love undiscovered treasure, then come to this incredible place.
The stay was amazing , crew was so helpful. Close by to everything , they are always pick you up to the room with the buggy! Was greatttt Will be Back soon
This place is amazing! So beautiful. In such a beautiful location. The staff is incredible. It's a bit of a trek to get to the property but it's worth the effort!
The landscape was terrific! It was designed in a way so that the bungalows have privacy. Early in the morning, great for monkey watching. The floors inside were a bit slippery so hadcto watch when walking. The shower took a while to drain n amenitywas just ok. But we had a hreat stay!
We stay of 9 nights nature around wonderful swiming pool and some of banglow house are under refurbishment makes noise . Apart this we understand that are egotistic place the smells of drains after rain was terribly and condition blows inside in rooms . Bit shower looks not good mouldy and smell as well but we came of location not of luxury living ).
Great place overall. I'd come here again.
Dirty shower - had mold
Wonderful experience, rooms were clean and comfortable, staff was very friendly and helpful with questions. We spent time swimming on the beach, enjoying the ocean front on the resort and restaurant and relaxing in the pools. The third pool was under renovation but positive it is going to be fabulous once finished. It was accessible to activities and excursions. Would definitely recommend.
Woke up early in the morning and just wandered. Had the entire beach to myself. Pretty amazing experience.
Very thoughtful staff - they observed from my passport it was my birthday & surprised me with cake & decorations.
Location, staff and breakfast was outstanding! You just have to come and visit yourself. One suggestion is once you take the longboat to the pier, call the property to assist you with your luggage as it is a very long pier
Great hotel, everything was awesome. Very good location and a perfect structure at the bungalow, nice place to enjoy the beach and get relaxed. Beach chairs were great, easy to come back and forth from the beach with a swimming pool close by. Breakfast and dining options could be a little bit better
Very close walk to railay beach. Room included beach bag with flip flops and beach mat and umbrellas. AC worked very well
Security guard was unwelcoming and unfriendly upon our arrival in West Railay Beach. At registration they assigned an inferior room, claiming it was a “free upgrade”. We insisted to see the original room and it was much nicer so we had to insist that we got it. They were not happy to let us have it. They accused us of stealing umbrellas, which were take by someone at breakfast. Generally very unfriendly staff with immoral policies. I wouldn’t stay here again! Must be owned by some really mean people. The only helpful and friendly member staff was a buggy driver.
Had a great time at Sand Sea in the Sunrise Tropical Villa. It was the perfect space for my wife and I to feel comfortable and relax during our stay. The room was spacious with a nice large bathroom and patio for relaxing. We also appreciated that the resort provided plenty of pool space, amenities like beach towels, and the staff was incredibly friendly. Would highly recommend staying here if visiting Railay.
A wonderful stay in a double twin villa. We stayed in 1009 which is on the east side of the isthmus. It was spacious, the A/C worked great and plenty of outlets that accommodated American plugs. As a side sleeper, the beds were not to my liking - very firm. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided. No wash cloth though, so bring a loofah. Excellent bath and face towel. Hot water kettle with a couple of tea bags and insta coffee. White sugar and powdered creamer provided. Two ceramic coffee cups that likely hold 8-10 oz of water. Our room came with the breakfast buffet which was very tasty. Take advantage of the one curry they'll have in the AM and mix it with scrambled eggs. Trust me. Coffee machine is strong! The airport transfer service is worth the price to save you having to think through the logistics. Depending on where the tide is when you arrive or leave, they make it very easy on you so that you don't need to traverse the long public dock. Our room was dated, and there was construction of a cafe that goes until mid June of 2025 right next to the busiest pool.
Beautiful resort and staff are so friendly and helpful
Lovely resort in Railay. Staff were always very helpful. Organised our transfer to the airport for us which was very efficient.
This is a beautiful location and wonderful hotel. We had a few things we didn’t like; they wouldn’t give us two keys for the room so my partner and I had to share the only key. When we checked in there was a mix up with our room and I’d say we received a down graded unit. We didn’t make a fuss as we were still overall happy!
The worst hotel experience in all Thailand I’ve ever experienced. I was waiting for more than two hours to be checked in, under the super hot weather, without any air conditioning. And during those time they did not allow me to chill by the pool! They just forgot about my presence. Second point, no towels in the room, every day I needed to call them and ask for the towels as they were always keep forgetting about it. The food on the breakfast was terrible! And Coffee is not drinkable at all.
Nice clean unit, very friendly staff. Really good clean beach. Interesting shopping area: bit alternative. Not a lot to do outside relaxing and swimming Only down side was the on and off smell of sewerage
We had an incredible stay at Hotel Sun and Sea in Railay Beach! The location is absolutely unbeatable - just a short walk from both Railay East and West, with stunning views and easy access to all the best spots in the area. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with all the facilities you need for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was good, with a nice variety to start the day off right. The drinks menu was great too, even though they don't serve alcohol on-site. That wasn't a problem at all since local shops nearby sell everything you might want. All in all, Hotel Sun and Sea offers amazing value, a perfect location, and warm, welcoming service. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Railay!
We love Sand Sea Resort and Railay Beach! The staff were so helpful and went the extra mile to help us! If we are able to come back to Krabi we will stay here again for sure. The only drawback was no alcohol was served at the restaurant, but there were beach bars on both sides of the resort and they didn’t mind if we brought them back to the restaurant or the pool. Wonderful place to be and unforgettable beauty- plus monkeys and iguanas and little kitties roamed the property with no bother to the guests!
Amazing place, lovely swimming pools, breathtaking beaches! Loved it
